Re: WWE 2006 & Beyond by ddmrko
Still waiting on most of the reviews for the PPV. I know its rough to review shows so take the time you need. Now that SummerSlam is over, I should be back to delivering reviews semi-regularly. If I owe you a review, say something in this thread or drop me a PM.
RAW Preview
August 21, 2006
New York, New York
Madison Square Garden
One night removed from SummerSlam, the WWE once again emanates from "The World's Most Famous Arena" Madison Square Garden. The WWE presents RAW and what a Monday Night it will be.
SummerSlam saw many huge developments, one of the biggest being the crowning of a new WWE Champion in "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Michaels beat his DX teammate Triple H and former champion Edge to win the prestigious title once more. After the match, Michaels and The Game showed signs of solidarity when they delivered several crotch chops to The Rated R Superstar. What will the new WWE Champion have to say about his win this Monday night? What will his partner in D-Generation X have to say about the new champion? Will the former champion retaliate for losing his title at SummerSlam?
One thing we do know we'll see is the Chairman of the Board, Mr. McMahon. Vince McMahon has said to have a hige announcement that will shake the WWE to its foundation. What could this huge announcement be and will it involve McMahon's hated rivals, D-Generation X?
Also at SummerSlam, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton went 2 and 0 against John Cena, defeating him in a First Blood match but it was Cena who left standing tall in the end. Is the war between these two superstars over or has the battles between the two young wrestlers just begun? And what will Cena have to say about the interference of SmackDown's Mr. Kennedy and John Bradshaw Layfield?
The battle between John Cena and Randy Orton wasn't the only match to get bloody at SummerSlam? "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Hardcore Legend" Cactus Jack tore into each other for fifteen minutes before Flair picked up the surprising win. WWE.com has learned that neither legendary competitor will be on RAW due to their massive injuries.
Matches announced for Monday Night RAW:
John Cena vs. Shelton Benjamin
Women's Title match against Mickie James at Unforgiven
Trish Stratus vs. Melina (w/ Johnny Nitro)
MNM Collides
Joey Mercury vs. Johnny Nitro (w/ Melina)

SmackDown! Preview
August 25, 2006
New York, New York
Madison Square Garden
SmackDown! rolls into "The Garden" and fireworks will surely erupt when the superstars of Friday nights roll into NYC one more time.
At SummerSlam, the most anticipated match of the year took place. The Animal and The Wrestling Machine collided over the World Heavyweight Championship. Once the match was over, Kurt Angle was left standing and retained his title. But once the night was over, Batista was the only one on his feet. Batista viciously attacked Angle after his match with a barrage of sick chair shots. Will The Animal explain his actions this Friday night or does the World Heavyweight Champion not feel like hearing his explanation?
Batista's vicious attack wasn't the only shock of SummerSlam. An even more shocking event took place earlier tonight. The People's Champion, The Rock made his return to the WWE by clearing the ring of King Booker and his Court. The Rock has made his highly anticipated return and Booker is none too happy. What will The Rock have to say about his return this Friday night and what will Booker, Finlay and Regal have to say to The Great One?
In one of the most exciting matches of the year, The Hooligans defeated JBL & Mr. Kennedy and The Pit Bulls in a triple threat ladder match to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. On SmackDown!, Paul London and Brian Kendrick will have to defend their new titles against the former champions. Will JBL and Mr. Kennedy be able to regain their title or has the era of The Hooligans begun?
Also announced on WWE.com earlier this week, Mark Henry will be out of action for an undetermined amount of time with an injured. At SummerSlam, Chris Benoit lived up to the nickname of "The Crippler", separating Henry's shoulder from the socket. What will "The World's Strongest Man" have to say to "The Rabid Wolverine"?
After seeing Rey Mysterio defeated at the hands of The Big Show at SummerSlam, Matt Hardy feels its his turn. Hardy plans to call out The Big Show on SmackDown!. Will Show accept Hardy's challenge?
Matches Announced for Friday Night SmackDown!
The Undertaker vs. Finlay
WWE Tag Team Championship
The Hooligans(C) vs. JBL & Mr. Kennedy
Note: Both RAW and SmackDown! will be recapped this week and should b posted tomorrow. If I owe you a review, post in the thread.
