A little note.

There will be no SmackDown! Preview this week. I was gonna write SmackDown! in recap form but the reviews for RAW have left a bad taste in my mouth. So I've decided to write my ass off on this next SmackDown! and pick up some momentum for SummerSlam. Thanks for all of the reviews, eventhough some didn't exactly put a smile on my face. I appreciate all of them and can only help me get better.

Solid enough promo to kick off the show with ECW alumini starting the night off at the Hammerstein. A big brawl occurs between the two sides and good announcement by Vince and the main event sounds huge.

Not the greatest match to start off the wrestling side of the show, but looking at the rest of the card it was probally the right choice out of the lot. Huge win for Melina gaining some momentum going into Summerslam.

Not a great promo here unfortuantly, with Randy Orton especially out of character. Nice ending however with the two men getting into a brawl continuing their feud nicely. Am gonna have to go with Cena for the victory on this match as Orton has had most of the momentum going into Summerslam.

Filler match here just to continue Haas's push as of late. This match puts Haas over nicely with having him dominate a 500 pounder.

Looks like Flair is going to pick up the shock victory but Cactus Jack interferes ending the match in a DQ. Nice way to build the feud up going into Summerslam but i would like to see Umaga in a feud in this thread.

A good main event here and DX come out on top here and get the momentum going into Summerslam and it will be intresting to see if they do split up at the show.

Overall this show was way too short for a 2 hour program, there was also a few shakey promos but otherwise a decent show nowhere near you best however. 75/100

I hear you Mac. This wasn't one of your best shows. I can't wait to see what you have in store for Smackdown.

Don't spam up my thread with that three word crap.

Anyway, SmackDown! is coming along a little slower than usual. It should be posted sometime tomorrow or Saturday.

lol, I was about to say the same thing.

Anyway, like I said, the next show of yours I'll be reviewing is SummerSlam, because I don't have time to review any shows this week. There's a slight chance that I'll post a double review on the weekend, but don't hold your breath.

Note: After last week's show and the mixed reviews I received, I worked my ass off on this one. Drop a review and leave your predictions for SummerSlam.

WWE SmackDown!
August 18, 2006
Lowell, Massachusetts
Tsonga Arena

“Pity” by Drowning Pool blasts in the arena and the opening SmackDown! video plays. The pyro goes off in the arena as the audience in Lowell, Massachusetts goes crazy. The camera pans the audience and gets a close up of the fans and the signs that they have brought with them to the Tsonga Arena. We cut to the SmackDown! commentators, Joey Styles and Tazz.

Joey Styles: Hello everyone and welcome to Friday Night SmackDown! I’m Joey Styles along with my broadcast colleague, the former ECW Champion Tazz, and boy do we have a hell of a night in store for you. We have two huge main events for you here tonight. The #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, “The Animal” Batista takes on “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit!

Tazz: That is a huge match up Styles. Batista’s big brawling style should prepare Benoit for Mark Henry at SummerSlam. And Benoit’s technical ability should only help Batista get ready for Angle this Sunday night on Pay Per View!

Styles: Speaking of the World Heavyweight Champion, “The Wrestling Machine” Kurt Angle will be in action tonight and he will take on the “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry.

Tazz: Royal Rumble rematch. Tonight is gonna be off the hook!

*WWEEELLLL….WWEELLLL IT’S THE BIIIGGG SHHOOOOWWWW!!!*

“Crank It Up” hits on the P.A. system to a tremendous amount of heat. The Big Show makes his way down to the ring with his manager Paul Heyman by his side.

Styles: Last week, The Big Show planned an attack on Big Show in an attempt to gain the upper hand heading into their SummerSlam match up. But a wrench was thrown into the plans when Matt Hardy returned and cleared the ring of The Big Show.

Paul Heyman grabs a microphone from Tony Chimel.

Heyman: A little over a month ago, Matt Hardy defeated The Big Show in a match up.

Nice pop.

Heyman: The Big Show’s retaliation for that was quick, simple and effective. He took Matt Hardy and choke slammed him through an announce table!

Heat from the audience.

Heyman: At The Great American Bash, The Big Show decided to take it a step further when he grabbed Matt Hardy by the throat and choke slammed him through a table again. Except this time The Big Show and Hardy were on a ladder and Hardy went crashing some 20 some-odd feet, through a table, to the ground below.

Major league heat as The Big Show laughs.

Heyman: Here we are a month later and The Big Show has been beating the crap out of Rey Mysterio week after week.

Mixed reaction. Some pop for Rey’s name. Others boo for Heyman’s statement.

Heyman: But here’s where the story takes a bad turn. You see, because last week, Matt Hardy decided to crawl out of his comfortable hospital bed and attack The Big Show, only a week away from SummerSlam.

Good Pop

Heyman: Hardy, I hate to tell you but you made the worse mistake of your life coming back here.

Audience gives heat.

Heyman: You made it out alive. Not only did you survive but you survived two, TWO matches with The Big Show! And now you decide to come back and put your health, PUT YOUR LIFE, in jeopardy!

The crowd gives Heyman more heat.

Heyman: Matt! What you need to do is get back in that hospital bed and never come back. Because if you do, you will suffer the same fate that Rey Mysterio will suffer at SummerSlam.

Heat as Show gets a focused look on his face.

Heyman: You are still a young man. You can do something else. I don’t know. You could…be a telemarketer or something. Or you could try your hand at acting. Look what it did for The Rock and Hulk Hogan.

Pop for The Rock’s and Hogan’s name.

Heyman: The Big Show is going to crush and maim Rey Mysterio. In fact, Show has told me that this may be the last match of Rey Mysterio’s career. Matt Hardy I suggest that you stay at home and don’t come back or else….

*OOOHHHHHH YEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!*

“Live For The Moment” hits to a great pop. Matt Hardy comes out onto the stage with a microphone in hand. Hardy waits for the cheers to die down before he begins talking.

Hardy: Paul, you’re right. You’re absolutely correct.

The audience goes silent.

Hardy: The Big Show has taken me out of action a couple of times. He has choke slammed me through announce tables. He’s choke slammed me through wooden tables. Hell, he’s even choke slammed me off of a 20 foot ladder.

The crowd is silent as they listen to what Hardy has to say.

Hardy: But through it all I have proven one thing. MATT HARDY WILL NOT DIE!

Loud pop as Hardy stares at the ring focused.

Heyman: Matt. Matt. There’s no need to get all riled up. If you want to put that theory to the test all you have to do is step into this ring.

Hardy thinks about it and then stares at the crowd for an answer. The audience responds by giving a great pop. Hardy turns around and heads to the back as the fans give major heat.

Heyman: Let that be a lesson to you Rey Mysterio. Learn a lesson from your buddy. At SummerSlam, Rey just walk away or……..

Matt Hardy comes back out except this time he’s not carrying a microphone. He’s got a STEEL CHAIR! Hardy walks towards the ring at a steady pace. Heyman cowers behind The Big Show as Hardy gets closer and closer to the ring. Show shows no fear and waves Hardy into the ring. Hardy tries to enter but every time he does, Show attempts to kick him, which forces Hardy to back up. This goes on for several seconds before the crowd pops huge. Rey Mysterio jumps over the crowd barricade and slides into the ring. Mysterio immediately attacks Paul Heyman, taking him down with rights and lefts. Show turns around and focuses his anger on Mysterio. Show grabs Rey by the head and delivers a nasty head butt which knocks Rey down. Hardy slides into the ring with steel chair in hand. Show turns around and gets NAILED with a hard chair shot to the head. Show wobbles but is still on his feet. Hardy backs up and drills Show with ANOTHER chair shot which causes show to fall between the top and middle ropes, to the outside of the ring! The audience erupts in a “HARDY!“ chant. Hardy helps Mysterio to his feet as Heyman does the same with The Big Show on the outside.

Styles: This thing between the Big Show and Matt Hardy is not over. Matt Hardy will not die!

Tazz: But is The Big Show too focused on Matt Hardy to win his match against Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam in just two days time.

Styles: Tonight, the World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle battles Mark Henry and Batista takes on Chris Benoit. Two HUGE main events. Tonight!

[Commercial Break]

“Hail Sabin” hits to a respectable pop. The #1 contender to the Cruiserweight Championship, Chris Sabin, makes his way to the ring.

Tony Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the Cruiserweight Championship of the world! Introducing first, the challenger, from Hell, Michigan, weighing in at 215 pounds, CHRIS SABIN!

Styles: This newcomer Chris Sabin has made a hell of an impact since he came here to the WWE, Tazz.

Tazz: His first night on SmackDown!, he defeated Gregory Helms in a non title match. Two weeks ago, he beat Super Crazy in a #1 contenders match. Can he pick up the Cruiserweight Title? We’ll find out soon enough.

“Fire Storm” hits to a decent amount of heat. The WWE Cruiserweight Champion makes his way down the ramp with some bandages on his shoulder.

Chimel: And his opponent, from Raleigh, North Carolina, weighing in at 215 pounds, he is the Cruiserweight Champion of the world, GREGORY HELMS!

Styles: He is the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion in WWE history. But does the title reign of Gregory Helms end tonight at the hands of a relative newcomer in Chris Sabin?

Tazz: There you can see that Helms’ shoulder is wrapped. Last week, Chris Benoit put him in that Crippler Crossface and Benoit had that end for a long time.

Match #1
Chris Sabin vs. Gregory Helms©
Cruiserweight Championship
Match Summary:
Helms and Sabin have a very competitive, fast paced match up. During the early stages of the match, Sabin uses many wear down holds on the injured shoulder of the Champion. Sabin uses a couple of shoulder-breakers and a Fujiware arm bar to keep the advantage. Midway through the match, Helms utilizes illegal tactics to fight his way back into the match up. Towards the end of the contest, Helms attempts to hit The SHINING WIZARD on Sabin and connects. Helms covers the challenger but Sabin kicks out at the count of 2. Helms lifts him to his feet and attempts THE VERTEBREAKER! Helms tries but he can’t get him up because of his shoulder. Sabin breaks Helms hold and kicks him in the gut. Sabin then lifts him up and hit’s the CRADLE SHOCK FOR THE WIN and the Cruiserweight Championship!
WINNER & NEW Cruiserweight Champion: Chris Sabin via pinfall at 9:32

Styles: He did it! Chris Sabin is the new Cruiserweight Champion.

Tazz: The seven month reign of Gregory Helms comes to an end here tonight. I don’t believe it!

Sabin is handed the Cruiserweight Championship as Helms clutches his shoulder in pain. Sabin climbs the turnbuckle and celebrates his victory as we go to a commercial break.

[Commercial Break]

---Replay of Sabin winning the Cruiserweight Title moments ago.---

***We return from the break already in the backstage area. Josh Matthews stands by***

Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time, King Booker!

King Booker and his Court (Queen Sharmell, Sir William Regal & The United States Champion Finlay) come into screenshot, receiving a ton of heat from the audience.

Matthews: King Booker, you and your Court are just two days away from a HUGE six man tag match. You will be taking on Bobby Lashley (good pop), The Undertaker (great pop) and a mystery opponent. King Booker, I have to ask you who do you have any idea who the mystery opponent is?

Booker: If I did then it wouldn’t be a mystery. Now would it?

Matthews: I guess if…

Booker: Shut up, peasant!

Matthews puts his head down as the fans boo Booker.

Booker: I don’t care what that rogue Thaddeus Long has put up against me. It makes no difference. They will be vanquished at the hands of King Bookah and my royal knights.

Matthews: But Booker, last week when the video played, you seemed a little scared to me in my opinion.

Booker takes off his crown and hands it to Queen Sharmell. Booker begins speaking again but his voice leans more towards his old persona.

Booker: You didn’t just say that. Somebody tell me you did not just say that.

Matthews: I said you seemed a little…

Booker: Shut yo punk ass up! I ain’t scared of nobody. I ain’t scared of no Deadman. I ain’t scared of Bobby Lashley’s black ass. And I damn sure ain’t scared of no mystery sucka!

Matthews cowers and looks down as Booker stares a hole through him.

Booker: Everyone is predicting some one big for this mystery opponent. What kind of dumb sucka would dare go in against King Bookah? Teddy Long probably had to get some washed up sucka off the street! Probably D-Lo or some has-been little sucka like that!

Booker takes a deep breath and turns back to Sharmell. She hands Booker his crown and he puts it back on.

Booker: Listen, peasant. At SummerSlam, this Sunday night, King Bookah will vanquish Bobby Lashley.

Heat.

Booker: This Sunday, King Bookah will vanquish The Undertaker.

Major league heat.

Booker: This Sunday night, live on Pay Per View, the entire world will learn to Hail King Bookah!

Sir William Regal snatches the mic from Matthews.

Regal: ALL HAIL KING BOOKER! ALL HAIL KING BOOKER!

Booker and company walk off to tremendous heat from the audience.

***We cut to Teddy Long’s office. Matt Hardy is already there.***

Teddy: Matt, listen to me. The doctors have not cleared you to wrestle tonight. I’m sorry but that’s the end of the discussion.

Hardy: Teddy, you’re not hearing me. I NEED a match with The Big Show.

Teddy: No clearance. No match. Sorry playa.

Hardy: Listen Teddy. I think the doctors will clear me for SummerSlam. Come on. Make the match for SummerSlam. I need this.

Teddy: At SummerSlam, its Rey Mysterio versus The Big Show. I’m sorry but unless Rey lets you take his spot, you’re gonna have to wait.

Hardy gets a look on his face as if he has an idea.

Hardy: Alright. Thanks anyway Teddy.

Teddy: No problem playa.

Hardy walks out of the office as Teddy Long looks on.

*We cut to a shot of the WWE Tag Team Champions JBL and Mr. Kennedy arrogantly walking down the hallway. Both are dressed in suits.*

Styles: Coming up next, Paul London & Brian Kendrick take on The Mexicools and The Pit Bulls in a triple threat tag team match. JBL and Mr. Kennedy will be at ringside on commentary. This should be good.

[Commercial Break]

We return from the break with The Pit Bulls and The Mexicools already in the ring.

*MMIISSTTTERRRR KKEEENNNEEEDDYYY!!!*
.
.
.
.
.
*KKKEEENNNEEEDDDYYY!!!

Kennedy’s music hits and the WWE Tag Team Champions JBL and Mr. Kennedy make their way towards the ring. The audience surprisingly gives them a mixed reaction, leaning more towards cheers, as they make their way towards the ringside area. Kennedy and JBL shake Tazz’s hand and totally ignore Joey Styles. JBL and Kennedy put on their headsets.

JBL: This is gonna be a hell of a match up. You got my pool cleaners who come by my house every weekend to get their 5 pesos. Then you got The Pit Bulls, the two guys who come out here each week and have chains around their necks and are dressed in leather.

Kennedy: Nuff said about those two freaks.

Styles: What about your opponents in the LADDER MATCH for this Sunday!?

Kennedy: Did he ask you to speak!? Did he ask you to speak!? If not shut your GOD DAMN mouth!

JBL, Tazz and Styles look at Kennedy with surprise at his sudden outburst of anger. “London Calling” hits to a good pop from the audience. The Hooligans, Paul London and Brian Kendrick, sprint down to the ring at full speed.

Chimel: And their opponents, weighing in at 380 pounds, Paul London and Brian Kendrick, THE HOOLIGANS!

Styles: I don’t want to upset you two but you have to admit that the challengers, London and Kendrick have the advantage at SummerSlam. It’s a LADDER MATCH! And their speed advantage has got to make them the favorites for this Sunday on Pay Per View.

JBL: We beat those two punk kids at The Great American Bash and we’ll do it again at SummerSlam! These two damn Power Rangers don’t have a chance in hell against Mr. Kennedy and the one and only, Wrestling GOD!

Match #2
The Hooligans vs. The Pit Bulls vs. The Mexicools
Triple Threat Tag Team Match
Match Summary:
Very fast paced match up with London and Kendrick dominating the majority of the contest. The finish comes when JBL and Mr. Kennedy attempt to get involved in the match up in an effort to cost London and Kendrick the match up. London and Kendrick fight off The WWE Tag Team Champions. Kendrick then attempts to take out the champs with a cross body over the top rope. JBL and Kennedy avoid contact and Kendrick crashes onto the floor. Kash comes up from behind a distracted London and rolls him up for the three count.
WINNER: The Pit Bulls via pinfall at 8:21.

The Pit Bulls exit the ring excited about their victory. JBL enters the ring and waits for London to get back to his feet. London gets up, turns around and gets drilled with a Clothesline From Hell! Kennedy grabs Kendrick and throws him into the ring. Kennedy then gets on his knee and searches under the ring. After a couple of seconds, Kennedy pulls out a LADDER and throws it into the ring! Kennedy enters the ring and the tag team champions wait for Kendrick to make it up. Kendrick slowly gets up and makes it to a vertical base. JBL delivers a stiff kick to the gut and then POWERBOMBS HIM ON THE LADDER!

Styles: OH MY GAWD!

Tazz: That was nasty. That was…that was nasty.

Kennedy looks at the crowd as if to say “its not over!” JBL positions Kendrick parallel on top of the ladder. Kennedy climbs to the top turnbuckle and looks to the heavens as he yells “KENNEDY!” Kennedy jumps off turnbuckle and hit’s the KENTON BOMB onto the ladder!

Styles: Damn! The WWE Tag Team Champions have just sent a message to their challengers at SummerSlam!

Tazz: After that, I think we have new favorites for that Ladder match in just two days!

Styles: I think you’re right up next, “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit takes on “The Animal” Batista. Our first of two main events, NEXT!

[Commercial Break]

*We return from break with Kristal Marshall standing by*

Kristal: Ladies and gentlemen, the #1 Contender, “The Animal” Batista!

Batista comes into screenshot receiving a massive pop.

Kristal: We are just two days away from your epic confrontation with Kurt Angle over the World Heavyweight Championship. What are your thoughts on that huge match and your match with Chris Benoit here tonight?

Batista: January 10th, was the worst day of my life. That was the night that I relinquished the World Heavyweight Championship.

Crowd boos.

Batista: On that very same night, not even two hours later, Kurt Angle was celebrating with my World Heavyweight Title!

Some pop for Angle’s name while others boo him taking “Batista’s” title.

Batista: That all changes at SummerSlam! At SummerSlam, that all changes. In just two days time, I regain what’s rightfully mine. This Sunday night, I guarantee that I will beat Kurt Angle and regain my World Championship!

Loud pop followed by boos from some Kurt Angle fans.

Batista: As for Chris Benoit tonight.

Pop for Benoit’s name.

Batista: I have a lot of respect for Chris Benoit just like I have a lot of respect for Kurt Angle. But that’s not what matters tonight. Tonight, Chris Benoit is nothing but a stepping stone on my way to the World Heavyweight Championship. And if Chris doesn’t like it…he can prove me wrong!

The crowd pops huge with a few scattered boos as Batista heads off screen.

*Back to ringside*

Styles: Strong words from the #1 contender and…….Here we go!

“I Walk Alone” hits to a thunderous ovation. “The Animal” Batista makes his way onto the stage area as the fans go crazy. Batista sets off his massive pyro and continues on his way to the ring.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Washington, D.C., weighing in at 300 pounds, he is the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, “The Animal” BATISTA!

Styles: We are just two days away from the biggest match of the year. The World Heavyweight Championship is on the line when “The Animal” Batista challenges “The Wrestling Machine” Kurt Angle.

Tazz: Two of the most dominant wrestlers off all time in the same ring going at it for the World Title. Angle has been champ for seven months now but he only got that opportunity because Batista gave it up. Who is the true World Heavyweight Champion? We find out at SummerSlam!

Batista waits in the ring focused and warming up until…..
“Medal” hits to an awesome ovation. The World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle makes his way to ringside with his title over his shoulder.

Styles: What is Kurt Angle doing out here?

Tazz: I don’t know but Batista doesn’t look happy

Styles: Benoit vs. Batista and Kurt Angle is out here. Things are gonna explode out here. My God.

[Commercial Break]

We return from the break with the match already in progress. Kurt Angle is watching from a chair at ringside but is not on headsets.

Match #3
Batista vs. Chris Benoit
Match Summary:
This is a very evenly contested match with the fans split between who they want to see walk out victorious. Batista uses his power and strength advantage to dominate the first few minutes but the technical prowess of Benoit allows him to take over around the five minute mark. Benoit wears Batista down with submission holds before trying to finish him off with the Crippler Cross face. Batista powers out before Benoit can lock it on and hits The Wolverine with a Spine buster. Batista lifts Benoit up and….hits him with the ANGLE SLAM!!! Angle immediately gets up from his seat. Batista and Angle begin yelling at each other with Batista challenging Angle to get in the ring. Mark Henry makes his way down to the ringside area as Benoit is laid out and Batista is still arguing with Kurt Angle. Henry enters the ring and instantaneously throws The Animal out. Henry then begins stomping away on Chris Benoit and the referee calls for the bell.
No Contest at 10:13 due to Mark Henry’s interference.

Henry stomps away at Benoit trying to weaken up the Rabid Wolverine for this Sunday. On the outside of the ring, Kurt Angle thinks about attacking Batista but decides to slide into the ring to help out Benoit. Angle enters the ring and begins to wail away on Henry as the audience cheers wildly. Angle backs up and then clotheslines Henry over the top rope.

Styles: Whoa! That was a just a little preview of our second main event when Mark Henry takes on the World Heavyweight Champion Kurt…what’s this!

Batista slides into the ring and waits for Angle to turn around. Angle turns around and Batista DRILLS him with a Spinebuster! The audience gives a ridiculously loud mixed reaction as Batista stands over Angle.

Styles: Batista with the Spinebuster and the #1 contender has sent a message to the World Heavyweight Champion!

Tazz: Batista wants his title back. Will he get it in just two days?

[Commercial Break]

---A replay of Batista’s spine buster on Kurt Angle is shown---

*We come back from commercial break inside of King Booker’s locker room. Queen Sharmell, Finlay and Sir William Regal are also present*

Booker: Listen, Sir William, I need you to destroy that peasant Bobby Lashley tonight.

Regal: No problem my lord. Bobby Lashley will be taken out tonight.

Booker: Finlay, you have a very tough job tonight.

Finlay looks ready.

Booker: I need you to watch out for….The Undertaker.

The audience pops huge as Finlay looks a little unnerved. A smile then comes over The Fighting Irish men’s face.

Finlay: Watch out for The Undertaker?

Booker: Yes.

Finlay: If I have my way…

Finlay shows his shillelagh to King Booker.

Finlay: The Undertaker won’t make it to SummerSlam.

Booker smiles as Regal and Finlay leave the locker room.

***Back to ringside***

“Soldier” hits to a good ovation. The former U.S. Champion Bobby Lashley sets off his pyro and then makes his way to the ring.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, weighing in at 273 pounds, BOBBY LASHLEY!

Styles: This Sunday night Booby Lashley teams up with The Undertaker and a mystery opponent to take on King Booker and his court.

Tazz: The weird thing about that is, NO ONE knows who it is. Not Lashley. Not Taker. Not King Booker. Not Finlay. And not Regal. There’s only two people who know, Teddy Long and the mystery superstar.

“Born Naughty” hits to a decent amount of heat. William Regal makes his way down to the ringside area with the United States Champion Finlay by his side.

Chimel: And his opponent, from Blackpool, England, weighing in at 245 pounds, Sir WILLIAM REGAL!

Styles: Regal has his marching orders tonight. Take out Lashley.

Tazz: And with Finlay and the shillelagh out here to counteract any Taker involvement, we may see a handicap match at SummerSlam this Sunday.

Match #4
Bobby Lashley vs. William Regal
Match Summary:
This is a decent match. Nothing special as Lashley uses his power to control the match up. Finlay uses some distraction techniques in an attempt to give Regal the win but it doesn’t pay off. At about the seven minute mark, Lashley drills Regal with a hard Spear. King Booker and Queen Sharmell walk down to ringside. Booker jumps off the apron and attempts to get in the ring. The referee stops Booker from getting into the ring. Finlay enters the ring from behind Lashley, turns him around and drills him with the shillelagh. Finlay exit’s the ring and Regal covers Lashley for the cheap win.
WINNER: Regal via pinfall at 8:43.

Booker, Finlay and Regal begin beating down Lashley. Finlay hits Lashley in the right knee with the shillelagh several times as Booker and Regal continue to stomp away.

*GONG*

Booker quickly looks up and around the arena for The Deadman. Finlay and Regal also stop the assault.

*GONG-The lights go out*

*GONG-The lights come back on with The Undertaker standing in the ring.*

Booker exit’s the ring as Finlay and Regal stare at the Undertaker. Finlay charges and is met with a stiff boot to the face. Regal reaches in his trunks for his brass knuckles but before he can reach them, Taker grabs him around the throat and delivers the Chokeslam! Taker gives the throat slash sign but almost immediately a video begins to play on the screen, almost identical to last week’s except shorter.

*VIDEO PLAYS*

Evil: Two days.

Man: Its close.

Evil: Too close.

Man: I think I’m ready.

Evil: You’re not ready.

Man: One way to find out.

Evil: In two days, it all falls apart. You go from being an icon to a has-been. Every ounce of credibility you worked for is flushed down the drain. Is it worth it?

Man: I don’t know.

Evil: THEN WHY BOTHER!

Man: Its my life!

Evil: It was your life!

Man: It IS my life and at SummerSlam, I get my life back.

*END OF VIDEO*

Undertaker continues to stare at the screen with a confused look as King Booker does the same from the outside.

Styles: I can not wait to see who it is Tazz. SummerSlam is gonna be a wild ride.

Tazz: Its gonna be off the charts Styles.

Styles: Up next, The World Heavyweight Champion, “The Wrestling Machine” Kurt Angle, takes on “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry. HUGE MAIN EVENT, NEXT!

Styles: You talk about extreme! I can’t wait to see this one.
“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair battles “The Hardcore Legend” Cactus Jack in a Hardcore Match.

Tazz: I’ve got Goosebumps just thinking about the possibilities Styles. Goldberg? Christian? Austin? Jericho? Kane? Rock? Brock?

Tazz: Both challengers have defeated Mickie James in the past couple of weeks. Will that be the case at SummerSlam?

Styles: Does it get any more personal than this? Big grudge match.
“The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry battles “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit.

Tazz: Mark Henry put Benoit out of action in May. The Rabid Wolverine plans to return the favor in just two days time.

Styles: These two groups have been fighting for months. They’re gonna fight tonight and they’ll fight at SummerSlam.
Carlito, RVD & Joey Mercury take on The Rated R Army!

Tazz: With guys like Shelton, RVD, Nitro, Carlito, Mercury and The Masterpiece, this match may have no choice but to steal the show.

John Cena takes on “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton in a First Blood match.

Tazz: Orton has bloodied Cena twice in recent memory. Can Cena retaliate at SummerSlam or is more blood in the future of “The Doctor of Thuganomics”?!

Styles: We thought the ladder stipulation favored the challengers but after tonight, I’m not so sure.
JBL and Mr. Kennedy defend their tag team titles against Paul London and Brian Kendrick in a Ladder Match!

Tazz: Tonight the WWE Tag Team Champions proved that they are adept as using a ladder. Can they retain at SummerSlam?

Styles: One of the most anticipated matches of the millennium in my opinion. The two most popular superstars on the WWE Roster go at it for the World Championship.
Kurt Angle defends against Batista.

Tazz: Angle has been dominating SmackDown! ever since Batista went down to injury and was forced to relinquish. Now Batista is back and he wants his title back. Who is the true World Heavyweight Champion? We find out at SummerSlam!

Styles: What a night that is gonna be. This Sunday Live on Pay Per View!

“Some Bodies Gonna Get It!” hits to tremendous heat. “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry slowly walks towards the ring with his trademark angry scowl on his face.

Chimel: The following is a non-title match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Silsbee, Texas, weighing in at 400 pounds, “The World’s Strongest Man” MARK HENRY!

Styles: At SummerSlam, Mark Henry takes on “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit in what is going to be a physical match up.

Tazz: Absolutely Styles. You gotta believe that Benoit will not only be seeking revenge for Henry’s actions tonight but also for putting him out of action a couple of months back.

“Medal” hits to a thunderous ovation. The World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle walks towards the ring with a determined look on his face.

Chimel: And his opponent, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 237 pounds, he is the World Heavyweight Champion, “The Wrestling Machine” KURT ANGLE!

Styles: Kurt Angle lives for respect. He feels he has been disrespected ever since he won the World Heavyweight Championship. He feels that everyone has been talking about Batista for as long as his seven month title reign has been going on. He’s sick and tired of everybody saying Batista should still be champion. He gets a chance to prove he is THE man this Sunday.

Tazz: The biggest match of the year at SummerSlam.

Styles: Angle. Henry. NEXT!

[Commercial Break]

Match #5
Main Event
Mark Henry vs. World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle
Non Title match
Match Summary:
We come back from the commercial break and the match is already in progress. Henry attempts to use his appreciable size advantage but the speed and technical ability of Angle is just too much. Throughout the match, Angle wears down the legs of The Worlds Strongest Man. Henry makes a comeback at around the nine minute mark with a low blow (out of the referee’s view). Henry then attempts to put the match away with several big moves including his “World’s Strongest Slam” but Angle refuses to stay down for a three count. Frustrated, Henry NAILS the referee with a huge right hand. With the referee down, Henry exits and grabs a chair from ringside. CHRIS BENOIT runs to the ring and begins brawling with Henry. Henry eventually gains the advantage and launches Benoit out of the ring. Angle comes up from behind Henry and rolls him up in a school boy for the pinfall. A second ref runs down and counts the cover.
WINNER: Kurt Angle via pinfall at 12:32

Henry gets up and looks around shocked that Angle managed to beat him. Henry then begins stomping away on Angle who is still worn out from the match. Benoit re-enters the ring and goes back at Henry. Benoit attempts to put him in the Crippler Cross face but Henry simply shoves him off. Benoit looks at Henry shocked at his incredible power. Benoit charges at him again except this time he gets lifted up and planted with The Worlds Strongest Slam! The crowd is in a stunned silence while viewing the dominance of Mark Henry. Henry lifts Angle and throws him into the corner. He then begins drilling the World Champion with shoulder thrusts to the gut until Angle collapses in the corner. The Worlds Strongest Man mocks the crowd until…

“I WALK ALONE” hits.

Batista’s music hits to an Earth-shattering pop. Batista sprints down to the ring as the audience goes wild. Batista enters the ring and immediately begins exchanging right hands with Henry. Henry kicks Batista in the gut and shoots him into the ropes. Batista comes back and runs Henry over with a monster clothesline! Batista then turns his attention towards his opponent for this Sunday, Kurt Angle. Batista “stalks” Angle, possibly looking to hit Angle with another Spinebuster. Angle slowly begins to get up. Henry grabs Batista and hits him with a hard right. Henry shoots off the ropes but when he comes back, Batista manages to get the 400 pounder up and HITS A SPINEBUSTER! The audience erupts as Batista stands over Henry. Batista turns around and is kicked in the gut. Angle lifts The Animal up and LAYS HIM OUT WITH THE ANGLE SLAM! The crowd gives Angle a loud mixed reaction as he retaliated for Batista’s Spinebuster earlier.

Styles: Kurt Angle has gotten the final word tonight but will that be the case in two days at SummerSlam. The biggest match of the year. The two most popular superstars on the roster. The Animal vs. The Wrestling Machine. Who is the true World Heavyweight Champion? Kurt Angle versus Batista this Sunday, live on Pay Per View.

SmackDown comes to a close with Angle raising his arms as Batista, Henry and Benoit are all laid out in the middle of the ring.
