HBKicon Reviews RAW

Flair/Foley Promo: Nice way to open the show, announcing the hardcore match at Summerslam. It looks awesome as Foley will be in "Cactus" attire. Some parts were out of charecter though.

Mickie vs. Trish: I like shows that open with diva matches, so I liked this. Nice win for my girl Trish . Melina/Mickie fued looks good too.

DX Promo: I like the DX break up, especially with DX as the heel. Anyway, the promo again wasn't really in charecter.

Edge Promo: Again, I think it wasn't in charecter. It was ok and got the point across but idk, just didnt seem right to me.

RVD vs. Nitro: Awesome match. I loved the ending too. Ken Doan in Edge army. Sounds good. Also, the brea up is definatly coming. Overall, you did a great job with thsi match.

DX Promo: Better then the first, IMO. Anyway, great match for SS and I can't wait to read it. HBK heel turn on HHH??????

Charlie Hass vs. Rob Conway: Filler to advance Haas. I am fond of Haas so I liked this.

Cade/Murdoch vs. Highlanders: Nice tag match. I liked the match but the ending could have been better.

Randy Orton Promo: Thats more like it man. This promo was sweet. I loved it and Orton was in charecter. I think ti could have been a little longer but still a job well done.

Main Event: Nice match here. It flowed smmothly and Ken pinning HHH!? That's huge! Idk what to say about HBK returning. I mean is was a little rushed and...idk just im cluelesss I guess.

Overall: 7/10. I liked the matches but your promos could have been better and that took away from the show as a whole.

Kennedy2.………2 reviews RAW

Sorry Mac but once again I don’t have time for a full review so I will just give you a couple of thoughts on the show. I love the DX storyline. The way you built it up throughout the show was perfect. Great way to close the show and I can’t wait to read Triple H vs. HBK for next week. The Rated R Army is a huge deal in this thread and you push them well. Ken Doane is not as edgy (pun not intended) as everyone else but he does fit in the group. Good show and it built SummerSlam well.

Overall: 8.5

Re: WWE 2006 & Beyond by ddmrko

opening promo - i loved this to bits. good to see your using flair the right way but it seemed as if foley was a bit of a pushover here.

womens match - not bad and its nice to see an interesting womens division.

DX - the self destruction of DX was very quick and i think should have had a bit more tonight before the main event.

edge team promo - so edges new member is kenny from the SS then. not a bad addittion but the team does need more experience. anyway i think this promo was done well but like the DX one should have had more in it.

RVD/Nitro - i really thought RVD had it in the bag there for a minute untill the army attacked. I didnt expect to see kenny till the main event but i guess this is him making his mark. i would really like to know whats happening with the spirit squad now that they lost one champion.

DX promo - i dont think this was 100% needed as the earlier promo already did this, just better.

haas/conway - a gap filler or not a very over match at all, sparked no interest.

edge/SS promo - good point by edge about the pin but i'm not sure wwe would allow that kind of thing.

tag match - again this seemed a bit of a gap filler but the abyss attack made it worth it. good moves but unprovoked and abyss needs a new, proper opponent to make himself look stronger.

orton promo - this would have lasted all of what? 8 seconds? if you didnt have a good enough reason for ortons attack then dont have coach ask about it.

main event - great match with some really nice action. the aftermath seemed kinda confusing at times how both teams could dominate with finishers at the same time though, and a HBK/HHH fued really doesnt look like an appealing one.

realism: 9/10
entertainment: 7.5/10

WWE SmackDown! Preview
August 11, 2006
Syracuse, New York

This Friday night, SmackDown! comes to you from the OnCenter in Syracuse, New York. And on this edition of Friday Night SmackDown!, one of the biggest confrontations on the road to SummerSlam takes place. World Heavyweight Champion, “The Wrestling Machine” Kurt Angle and #1 Contender, “The Animal” Batista will have a face-off in the middle of the ring. With only nine days until the dream match for the World Heavyweight Championship takes place, will we get a sneak preview of SummerSlam?

Also on SmackDown, The Undertaker teams up with Bobby Lashley to take on two members of King Booker’s court, the United States Champion Finlay and Sir William Regal. Can King Booker and hiss court gain the advantage heading into SummerSlam or does The Real Deal and The Deadman have different plans in mind? And what about the Taker’s and Lashley’s mystery opponent? Will he make himself known this Friday?

JBL and Mr. Kennedy have a huge mountain (or should we say ladder) to climb at SummerSlam. But they have to make a big pit stop in Syracuse first. This Friday Night, JBL and Kennedy team up with The Pit Bulls to take on their SummerSlam opponents, Paul London & Brian Kendrick, and The Mexicools. Will the pompous duo overcome the odds or will London & Kendrick send a message heading into their Tag Team Title Ladder match?

All of this and more on the next SmackDown! 8/7 CT

for the week of September 28th

Cash has harsh words for Pope Francis, his believers, and his bandwagon followers, while Mac still hates Russell Wilson.

Re: WWE 2006 & Beyond by ddmrko

WWE SmackDown!
August 11, 2006
Syracuse, New York

“Pity” by Drowning Pool blasts in the arena and the opening SmackDown! video plays. The pyro goes off in the arena as the audience in Syracuse, New York goes crazy. The camera pans the audience and gets a close up of the fans and the signs that they have brought with them to the OnCenter. We cut to the SmackDown! commentators, Joey Styles and Tazz.

Joey Styles: Hello everyone and welcome to Friday Night SmackDown! I’m Joey Styles along with my broadcast colleague, the former ECW Champion Tazz, and boy do we have a hell of a night in store for you. One of the biggest confrontations on the road to SummerSlam takes place. Tonight Kurt Angle and Batista will have a face-off in the middle of the ring. I can not wait for that Tazz as we are only a little over a week away from that epic match up.

Tazz: That’s absolutely huge Styles. Nine days until the dream match takes place, Kurt Angle vs. Batista: Who is truly the World Heavyweight Champion? Also tonight, we have a huge eight man tag team match up. Our WWE Tag Team Champions, JBL and Mr. Kennedy, team up with The Pit Bulls to take on Paul London, Brian Kendrick and The Mexicools. Huge eight man match up to start us off here tonight.

“London Calling” hits to a good pop. The #1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, Paul London and Brian Kendrick, sprint full speed down to the ring.

Tony Chimel: The following contest is an eight man tag team match and it is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, weighing in at 380 pounds, PAUL LONDON AND BRIAN KENDRICK!

Styles: At SummerSlam, London and Kendrick challenge JBL and Mr. Kennedy for the tag titles in a ladder match. That has got to favor the challengers Tazz.

Tazz: Absolutely. London and Kendrick have got the speed. They have the agility and they have the youth. JBL and Mr. Kennedy could be in trouble come SummerSlam.

“Mexicools” hits to a decent pop. Both Super Crazy and Psichosis make there way down to the ring on Juan Deere’s.

Chimel: and their tag team partners, from Mexico, at a combined weight of 434 pounds, Super Crazy and Psichosis, THE MEXICOOLS!

“Quitter” by Edgewater hits to a decent amount of heat. The Pit Bulls, Jamie Noble and Kid Kash, make their way down to the ring.

Chimel: And their opponents, at a combined weight of 404 pounds, Kid Kash and Jamie Noble, THE PIT BULLS!

Styles: Last week, Mr. Kennedy and JBL screwed The Pit Bulls out of a Tag Title shot. My question is Tazz, how can those two teams co-exist tonight?

Tazz: They can’t. Plain and simple.

“Mr. Kennedy” hits to a loud mixed reaction. 50/50. Mr. Kennedy makes his way down to the ring with his title belt on his waist and a microphone in his hand.

Chimel: And their tag team partners…

Kennedy: SHUT UP and GET OUT! (Chimel leaves the ring and Kennedy continues) Ladies and gentlemen, I weigh in tonight at an absolutely, freakin’ astonishing 242 pounds. I hail from GREEN BAY, WISCONSIIIIIINNN! One half of the most dominant duo ever, MIIISSTTTEEERRR KKKEEENNNEEDDDYYY!!!!…..

“Longhorn” hits to tremendous heat. JBL makes his way to the ring with his WWE Tag Team Title over his left shoulder.

Kennedy: And my tag team partner, weighing in at 285 pounds, from New York Freakin’ City! The longest reigning WWE Champion in the past 10 years. He is the Wrestling God. One half of the greatest duo of all time, JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD….LAAAYYYFFFIIIEEEELLLDDD!!!

Match #1
WWE Tag Team Champions JBL & Mr. Kennedy and The Pit Bulls vs. The Mexicools and Paul London & Brian Kendrick
Eight Man Tag Team Match

A very exciting fast paced match up as JBL and Mr. Kennedy do their best to stay out of the ring, which allows the more athletic teams to wrestle most of the contest. Eventually the Tag Team Champions have some miscommunication which causes JBL and Mr. Kennedy to walk away from the ring, abandoning Kash and Noble. Every member of the face team hits their finishing maneuver on Kid Kash. Ultimately, London hits the 450 splash on Kash to pick up the win for his team.

(WINNERS: London, Kendrick, Crazy and Psichosis via pinfall at 10:21)

Styles: London and company pick up the victory. That is a beautiful splash and London & Kendrick are rolling into SummerSlam.

Tazz: JBL and Ken Kennedy hauled out of here and left The Pit Bulls all alone against four men. Kash and Noble look none to pleased.

---Commercial Break---

***We return from the break in the backstage area with Josh Matthews***

Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit!

Benoit comes into screen shot to a great pop.

Matthews: Chris, the match has been made. At SummerSlam it will be Chris Benoit going one on one with Mark Henry. What are your thoughts going into this huge grudge match?

Benoit: Josh, I don’t like to run on and on at the mouth. I like to let my actions speak for themselves. But since our General Manager, Theodore Long, has told me that I can not touch Mark Henry until SummerSlam…

Fans give heat for the statement.

Benoit:….I’m going to let Mark Henry know what he’s in for at SummerSlam. Henry, you took it upon yourself to take me out of the business that I love. You took it upon yourself to take away the one thing that I love to do and that’s compete. Henry, by taking me out, you took food out of my kids’ mouths. Henry, by taking me out you took food out of my wife’s mouth. YOU TOOK AWAY MY LIVELIHOOD!

The fans become silent in awe of Benoit’s intensity.

Benoit: Come, SummerSlam I plan on taking out all my frustration, all of my anger, all of my rage on you, Mark Henry. Its not about winning. Its not about Championships. Hell, its not even about respect. Its about payback! Its about retribution! Its about revenge! Henry, at SummerSlam, I’m going to break your damn neck! At SummerSlam, I’m going to break your damn arm! I’m going to make you feel pain you have never felt before. And there isn’t a damn thing that you can do about it!

Benoit stares into the camera with extreme intensity. The camera closes in on Benoit’s face and then pulls away as we see Mark Henry watching Benoit on a monitor. Henry turns off the television and begins laughing.

***Back to ringside***

Styles: That was what I call intensity. Chris Benoit vs. Mark Henry is probably the most personal match at SummerSlam.

Tazz: Mark Henry doesn’t seem scared though. Henry is almost amused at Benoit’s intense anger.

“How Do You Like Me Now?” hits to a decent pop. Hardcore Holly makes his way down the entrance ramp.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Mobile, Alabama, weighing in at 235 pounds, HARDCORE HOLLY!

“Royalty” hits to tremendous heat. King Booker, with Queen Sharmell by his side, walks toward the ring.

Chimel: And his opponent, from Houston, Texas, weighing in at 255 pounds, KING BOOKER!

Styles: Announced on WWE.com earlier in the week, King Booker teams up with his court, Finlay and William Regal, to face Bobby Lashley, The Undertaker and a mystery partner. The weird thing is, not only do King Booker and company NOT know who they are facing. But Taker and Lashley don’t even know who their teammate is!

Tazz: I’ve never heard of anything like that. That is going to be an interesting match up to say the very least.

Match #2
King Booker vs. Hardcore Holly

A pretty average match up. Holly gets some shots in but the majority of the contest is controlled by King Booker. Holly makes a short comeback but Booker hits The Bookend which basically puts the match away. Booker doesn’t want to end it that way though. Booker waits for Holly to recover slightly and hits him with the Scissors Kick for the win.

(WINNER: King Booker via pinfall at 5:32)

Styles: WOW! The King looking very impressive going into his huge six man tag at SummerSlam!

***We cut to a backstage shot of Batista arriving to the building***

Styles: The Animal is here and boy does he look ready. Later on tonight, Batista goes face to face with Kurt Angle!

---Commercial Break---

***We return from the break into Batista’s locker room***

Batista takes off his suit jacket and hangs it up. Batista then goes into his bag. There’s a knock on the door. Teddy Long walks in and he gives Batista a pound.

Teddy: How you feeling playa’?

Batista: I feel good. Working my ass off. Down to a lean 300.

Teddy: Glad to hear it.

Batista goes back to his bag.

Teddy: Listen, uh Dave, I wanted to talk with you about this face to face with Kurt Angle tonight.

Batista: Go ahead.

Teddy: SummerSlam is a big Pay Per View for us. One of the biggest all year. And this years card is huge.

Batista: Yeah….

Teddy: In fact I just found out from Mr. McMahon himself that your match with Angle will be going on last at SummerSlam.

Batista: That’s big news Teddy. Thanks.

Teddy: What I’m trying to say is that during tonight’s face off with Kurt Angle, I would hate for something to happen to jeopardize that huge match and…

Batista: Look Teddy, I’m not going to start anything if that’s what you’re worried about.

Teddy: Thanks. That means a lot. Holla!

Long goes to walk out.

Batista: But…

Long turns around.

Batista: If Angle starts something…..I’ll finish it.

Long sort of nods his head and then walks out.

***Back to ringside***

“Booyaka 619” hits to a great pop. Rey Mysterio pops out from under the stage. Mysterio makes his way to the ring.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from San Diego, California, weighing in at 165 pounds, REY MYSTERIO!

Styles: Mysterio has had a rough time as of late. At The Great American Bash, The Big Show cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. Not only that but he did it with a Chokeslam to the floor.

Tazz: What about last week?!

Styles: Well we have footage.

*Footage shows the end of last week’s tag match. The Big Show countering a springboard into a hard chokeslam into the victory.*

Styles: At SummerSlam, Mysterio and Big Show go one on one.

“Simon System” hits to a minor heel reaction. Simon Dean comes to the ring on his Simon Scooter.

Chimel: And his opponent, from Clearwater, Florida weighing in at 214 pounds, SIMON DEAN!

Match #3
Rey Mysterio vs. Simon Dean

Your basic Rey Mysterio squash match. Mysterio uses his usual assortment of speed and high flying moves to wear Simon Dean down. Mysterio then hits his patented 619, followed by the springboard leg drop and Rey Rey picks up the victory!

(WINNER: Mysterio via pinfall at 3:45)

Mysterio celebrates his victory until “Extreme” blasts over the loudspeaker. The Big Show’s manager Paul Heyman appears on the entrance way. Heyman has a microphone in hand as Mysterio gazes at him from the ramp.

Heyman: Rey…..I have a lot of respect for you. I was the first one in America who recognized your talents and showcased your abilities to a national audience. I was the one who made you the face of lucha libre wrestling in the United States. Rey, I know how good you are. And that is why I am asking you to please, for your own good, back out of the match with The Big Show.

Audience boos as Mysterio shakes his head “no”.

Heyman: Rey, you saw Big Show take Matt Hardy and chokeslam him off of a 15 foot ladder and sent him crashing through a table below. Rey, you were there when they put Matt Hardy on that stretcher and wheeled him out of the building. You saw the fear in Matt Hardy’s eyes when he thought to himself, “I may never walk ever again.”

Audience continues to boo Heyman.

Heyman: Rey, you have a family to worry about. You don’t want your kids growing up without their dad being able to lift them up and play with them. Rey….

The fans begin to stir as The Big Show steps over the fan barricade.

Heyman: You have got to ask yourself….How dumb am I? Ha Ha!

Rey looks confused at Heyman's comment as Show steps into the ring behind him. Rey turns around and attempts a right hand on Show. Show blocks it and levels Rey with a hard head butt which sends Mysterio down to the canvas. Show lifts Mysterio up and backs him into the corner. Show then delivers a nasty overhand chop which echoes throughout the arena. Show grabs Rey under the armpits and flings him three-fourths the way across the ring. Show pulls the strap on his outfit down and then raises his right hand to signal for the Chokeslam. But….

“Live For The Moment” hits to a humongous ovation. Matt Hardy runs down to the ring with a steel chair in hand. Hardy takes a huge swing at Show but Show swats the chair right out of Hardy’s hand. Hardy kicks Show square in the groin causing the big man to go down to his knees. Hardy picks up the steel chair, swings and drills Show in the head. Show crawls over to the ropes. Mysterio shoots off the ropes and hits Show with the 619 as the fans go crazy. Show gets hit and slowly rolls out of the ring. Heyman comes down to the ringside area to assist Show back up the ramp. Show holds his head in pain as Mysterio and Hardy celebrate in the ring.

Styles: Matt Hardy is back! And he and Rey Mysterio just cleared house of The Big Show.

Tazz: I gotta admit, Heyman had a pretty good plan coming out here and trying to out smart Mysterio. But the returning Matt Hardy had a different plan in mind.

Styles: Up next, The King’s Court, the United States Champion Finlay and Sir William Regal, take on Bobby Lashley and The Phenom, The Undertaker! SummerSlam preview next!

---Commercial Break---

“I Love To Fight” hits to a lot of heat. Finlay and William Regal make their way down the entrance ramp and down to the ring.

Chimel: The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, Sir William Regal and the United States Champion FINLAY!

Styles: At SummerSlam Finlay and Regal team up with King Booker to face Lashley, The Undertaker and a mystery opponent. And the opponent is a mystery to his teammates as well.

“Soldier” hits to a good pop. Bobby Lashley sets off his pyro and then comes to the ring.

Chimel: And their opponents, first, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, weighing in at 273 pounds, BOBBY LASHLEY!

The audience is silent until…*GONG*…..*GONG* “Deadman” blasts over the P.A. System as the audience gives a thunderous ovation. The Undertaker slowly and methodically makes his way to the ring.

Chimel: And his tag team partner, from Death Valley, weighing in at 305 pounds, THE UNDERTAKER!

Tazz: I don’t know what King Booker and his court did to piss off The Undertaker, but I would hate to be them.

Match #4
U.S. Champion Finlay & William Regal vs. Bobby Lashley & The Undertaker

Very competitive match up with Finlay and Regal using illegal tactics to gain control of the match up. Finlay and Lashley begin to dominate until Lashley makes the hot tag into The Undertaker. Taker cleans house and prepares to put the match away with a chokeslam on Regal until King Booker interferes and causes the disqualification. The referee calls for the bell.

(WINNERS: Taker & Lashley via DQ at 9:21)

Booker, Finlay and Regal begin to decimate The Undertaker in the corner as Lashley is already laid out. Booker tells Finlay and Regal to lift up Taker. Sharmell hands Booker his royal scepter and Booker prepares to swing it but a video begins to play on the screens in the arena. Regal and Finlay let go of Taker as everyone in the arena watches the video.

The video begins with a man in a dark room. The man is dressed in a suit jacket with his head down in his hands. Two voices are heard. The voice of the man and a darker, more evil voice, which is representative of the man‘s conscience. The man’s voice sounds familiar but not instantly recognizable.

Man: Its been a while.

Evil voice: Too long.

Man: I think I still have it.

Evil: You don’t.

Man: One way to find out.

Evil: Don’t ruin your legacy.

Man: I’ve got to know.

Evil: You’ve done it all

Man: There’s still more.

Evil: Why bother?

Man: I need it.

Evil: Why?

Man: The people.

Evil: The people don’t need you.

Man: I need them.

Evil: You sold out.

Man: I’m back and I want in.

Evil: You want to give up the good life?

Man: I’m coming back to the good life.

Evil: The hard life.

Evil: Your call…

Man:…………I get my life back at SummerSlam!

****Video Ends****

The fans erupt in cheers as many recognize the man’s voice vaguely. King Booker and his Court look at the video in shock. Booker begins shaking his head “no”.

Tazz: That wasn’t…

Styles: No.

Tazz: It sounded like…

Styles: No. Moving on. Up next, “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit is in action against the Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms.

---Commercial Break---

“Fire Storm” hits to decent heat. The Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms makes his way down to the ramp with his title belt over his shoulder.

Chimel: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first from Raleigh, North Carolina, weighing in at 215 pounds, he is the Cruiserweight Champion of the world, GREGORY HELMS!

Styles: Gregory Helms is the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion in history but that may all come to a head next week. Next week here on SmackDown!, Helms defends his title against relative newcomer, Chris Sabin. What a match up that will be only two days from SummerSlam!

“Whatever” hits and the audience erupts. “The Rabid Wolverine” Chris Benoit makes his way down to the ring with a determined look on his face.

Chimel: And his opponent, now residing in Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 220 pounds, CHRIS BENOIT!

Styles: In just nine days, The Rabid Wolverine gets a chance to gain a measure of revenge on The Worlds Strongest Man.

Match #5
Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms vs. Chris Benoit
Non-Title Match

Benoit and Helms have a competitive match up until Benoit decides to shift into a higher gear. Benoit runs Helms over with a couple of clotheslines and then drills him with Six German Suplexes! Helms attempts to leave and backs up the ramp. Chris Sabin grabs Helms from behind and throws him back in the ring. Benoit applies The Crossface and Helms taps out!

(WINNER: Benoit via submission at 7:12)

Benoit keeps The Crossface on Helms even though he has tapped out. Several referees come down to ringside and attempt to pull Benoit off. Benoit lets go of the hold but decides to put it on one of the referees!!!! The Wolverine keeps it on as the ref taps out for all he’s worth. Benoit lets go of the hold and looks at both Helms and the ref as they both clutch their arm in pain. The camera cuts to the backstage area into Mark Henry’s locker room. Henry is once again watching the monitor. Except this time he doesn’t have a smile on his face. Henry looks at the screen with a look of fear on his face. Henry quickly turns off the monitor.

Styles: I didn’t think I could ever say this but Mark Henry is scared. Henry is scared of The Rabid Wolverine.

Tazz: I would be too if I had to face that man in just ten days. Benoit has snapped. He might have dislocated a couple of arms here tonight. And neither one of those guys tried to take Benoit out.

Styles: Henry is in trouble at SummerSlam!

***We cut to the backstage area into Kurt Angle’s locker room.***

The World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle is dressed in his wrestling gear and is tying up his boots when Teddy Long walks in.

Angle: Teddy, what’s going on?

Teddy: Nuttin’ much. Why are you in your gear, Kurt?

Angle: The face to face is up next. Right?

Teddy: Right but…

Angle: And Batista’s gonna be out there right?

Teddy: Right but…

Angle: That’s all I needed to know.

Teddy: Kurt, I want this to stay non-violent. Save all that aggression for SummerSlam. You feel me?

Angle: I’ll try. Alright?

Teddy: Thanks playa’

Long goes to leave the room.

Angle: BUT….

Long turns around to face Angle.

Angle: I’m not promising a damn thing.

Long leaves the room nervous as Angle goes back to tying up his boots.

Styles: Ladies and gentlemen, up next, the face to face confrontation. The World Heavyweight Champion and the #1 Contender will meet in the ring. Kurt Angle. Batista. Face Off. NEXT!

---Commercial Break---

*Mr. McMahon makes HHH vs. Michaels for RAW next week

***End of the RAW rebound***

***Back to ringside***

We come back to ringside and see that there is a table set up in the middle of the ring with three microphones on it. A couple of chairs are also present at the table. Several security guards are in the ring alongside

“MacMillitant” hits to a decent pop. Teddy Long walks down the entrance ramp and enters the ring.

Long: At SummerSlam, we will see one of the biggest matches of this Millennium. The two top superstars on the entire WWE Roster. The two most popular superstars on the roster. And two men who both have a claim to being the champion. Ladies and gentlemen, let me bring out first, from our Nation’s capital of Washington D.C., the man who never lost the World Heavyweight Championship. He reigned as champion for NINE months until he relinquished the title due to injury. He earned the right to regain it by defeating Mark Henry at The Great American Bash. Ladies and gentlemen, show your love for the #1 contender, “The Animal” BBBAAAATISTA!!!

“I Walk Alone” blasts over the loudspeaker to a Thunderous ovation. Batista comes from behind the curtain with his ring gear on.

Tazz: Uh Oh! Batista is dressed for a fight, Styles.

Styles: This could get out of hand!

Batista sets off his huge pyro at the top of the entrance ramp. Batista enters the ring and poses on all four turnbuckles receiving a deafening ovation on all four ! Batista climbs down from the final turnbuckle and shakes Long’s hand. Batista then sits down.

Long: And his opponent…

Long is cut off by a loud “BATISTA!” chant!

Long: And his opponent, he is a former Olympic Gold Medallist. A former King of the Ring. He is a Grand Slam Champion, meaning at one point he has held every major title in the WWE. He won the World Heavyweight Championship on the same night that Batista relinquished it. He has reigned over SmackDown for the last eight months. During his reign he has defeated Randy Orton (boos), Undertaker (cheers), Mark Henry (boos), Chris Benoit (cheers), King Booker (boos), The Big Show (boos) and Rey Mysterio (cheers). Ladies and gentlemen, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, show your love for the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, KURT ANGLLLLEEE!!!

“Medal” hits to a magnificent ovation which slightly tops Batista’s pop and is definitely the loudest of the night. The World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle comes to the stage and sets off his pyro. Angle is also dressed in his wrestling gear. Angle walks toward the ring with a focused look on his face as he stares at Batista. Batista doesn’t take his eyes off of Angle as Kurt enters the ring. Batista stands up and Angle gets right in his face.

Long: Gentlemen, gentlemen! Have a seat! Have a seat, please!

Styles: I know this is called a “Face-off” but I don’t think that’s what Teddy Long had in mind.

The security guards step in between Angle and Batista as Long continues to ask the two popular superstars to sit down. Batista and Angle both relax somewhat and decide to have a seat.

Long: Kurt, you are the champion. We’ll hear from you first.

Angle: Batista, I’m all about two things. Competition and respect. I thrive on competition. I crave it. Its what drives me and keeps me going. All I want to do week in and week out is prove that I am the very best in the business. And since I won the World Heavyweight Championship, I’ve been proving it ever since. That brings me to the other thing that I’m about, respect. You would think that since winning the World Title I would have gained respect. But that’s not the case. Ever since January 10th, all I’ve been hearing is “Kurt, Batista never lost that title.” “Kurt, Batista would still be champ if he wasn’t hurt.” GIMME A FREAKIN’ BREAK!

The audience gives Angle a loud mixed reaction as a smirk comes over Batista’s face.

Angle: But guess what, Batista. That all ends at SummerSlam. At SummerSlam, all of the damn excuses that people make for you, they end. In 10 days, this damn aura of invisibility you got going on, it ends. I’m gonna make you tap out. I’m gonna prove to the world that “The Animal” is no different than anyone else. And most importantly I will prove, without a shadow of a doubt that I am the true, one and only, World Heavyweight Champion.

The audience cheers Angle as he puts the microphone down.

Long: Thank you for that Kurt. Batista, if you will.

Batista: Thanks Teddy. Kurt…I’ve got a hell of a lot of respect for you. You’ve done it all in this business. You…

Batista is cut off by a loud “Angle” chant.

Batista: You are considered by many to be one of the best of all time. But the fact of the matter is that’s my Championship. It eats you up inside that you didn’t beat me for that Title. It hurts you deeply to know that no matter who you beat in this business, your Championship reign means nothing until you beat me.

Angle starts to get a little restless in his seat as he leans over the table.

Batista: I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news. The good news is you finally get your chance to prove that you are the true champion. You finally get your chance to prove that you are truly the best in the business. You get that shot at SummerSlam. The bad news…….The bad news is you won’t prove it. The fact is your lame duck title reign comes to an end SummerSlam! On January 10th , my whole world came crashing down around me, on the very same night that you won MY title! At SummerSlam, on August 20th, your whole world comes crashing down around YOU! Kurt, I take this….

Batista grabs the World Title and Angle snatches it away! Both Batista and Angle stand up but the table is in the way.

Batista: At SummerSlam, I take MY World Title back and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it.

Angle takes the table and flings it out of the way! The audience erupts as Angle and Batista get face to face again! Security tries to get in between the two superstars. The audience begins to trade chants of “Lets Go Batista!” “Lets Go Angle!” Angle says he’s calm and the security begins to slowly back away from the two men. Angle drills Batista with a right hand. Batista comes back with one of his own and the two superstars exchange right hands in the middle of the ring. Angle uses a double leg to take The Animal down and the two superstars begin rumbling on the ground. The security guards pull the two apart and bring them to several corners. Batista begins hitting the security guards with right hands as Angle does the same on the opposite end of the ring! Batista nails a couple of the guards with Spine busters as Angle begins to throw the rest of them over the top rope. Angle and Batista charge at each other and Batista drills him with a HARD SPEAR which takes the World Heavyweight Champion down! Batista starts “stalking” Angle. Angle slowly gets up to his feet and gets kicked in the gut. Batista gets ready for a Batista Bomb but Angle grabs Batista’s leg and pulls him down to the ground. Angle locks in the Ankle Lock on Batista as referees and wrestlers run down to the ring. The wrestlers and referees pull Angle off of Batista and manage to get Kurt Angle into a corner.

Styles: Oh My Gawd! Batista and Kurt Angle have battled here tonight but that was nothing compared to SummerSlam. Who will win this dream match and prove who is the TRUE World Heavyweight Champion!?

SmackDown! Goes off the air with Angle foaming at the mouth in the corner as Batista stares a hole through Angle while holding his ankle!

Re: WWE 2006 & Beyond by ddmrko

sorry but is it just me or in your smackdown banned does it look like big show, batista and angle are all overweight babies?

tag match - great finish but it seems like JBL and Kennedy werent even there and going into the ppv, that doesnt do the fued any good whatsoever.

benoit promo - hardcore, realistic, straight to the point. i loved it.

booker/holly - dont particularly like holly as a jobber and if you saw his match with RVD you'd know why. booker deserved to get some more offense going into SS but he could have had something backstage that would actually add to the fued.

batista - realistic and promising. the only thing i dont like is the idea of a face off. commentators and GM's dont say face off when two guys talk then fight, alternatively you could have just had one call out the other.

rey/dean - squash that could have been more. heymans speech was good and the big show attack was predictable whereas the hardy one wasnt. good move.

tag match - despite the DQ i think it was the best way to end the match. the aftermath was presented well and the video really got me interested. the sold out part constrasted with my original guess of kane, but theres still that chance.

benoit/helms - building two fueds with one match here which was good and both were done pretty well too.

angle promo - on a par with the batista one, looking good here.

face-off - suprisingly well written but the action was a bit dull, could have had a bit more spice.

entertainemnt: 8/10
spelling: 9/10
booking: 8/10
length: 9/10
realism: 10/10

HBKicon Reviews Smackdown

8 Man Tag: Nice wya to start the show. Fast paced action with the faces winning heading into Summerslam. Nice way to combine the fueds.

Benoit Promo: IMO, very much in charecter. I loved it. Benoit seemd intense as ever heaidn into Summerslam!

King Booker vs. Hardcore Holly: Squash match. i didn't like it but heaidng into Summerslam, Booker ganins some edge.

Batista Promo: Decent promo. I think it ended way to quickly though btu Batista is his usual tough self. Try to gradually go into the ending, this one just seemd to end.

Rey Mysterio vs. SImon Dean: Another squash match!? Mysterio with the obvious win heaidng into Summerslam.

Mysterio/SHow/Heymen/Hardy Promo: Awesome promo. Heymen can always cut a good promo. The only thing was this felt a little rushed as well. Anyway, it was still a good promo with a good message.

Taker/Lashley vs. Finlay/Regal: Nice to see Taker on the SD! card. The DQ ending was good as we head inot SS. I still wonder who their partner will be?

Benoit vs. Helms: Awesome match here. My only problem is it felt like a squash as we head into Summerslam. Oh well, both men are great superstars and I would lovew a fued between them soon. Henry better look out at Summerslam.

Angle Promo: He seems ready for this as long continues to keep order. ic an't see this ending well.

Batista/Angle Face Off: Awesome way to end the show, hyping the main event at Summerslam. Like I thought, it wouldn't end well and Angle seems to have left with the advatage. I hope this is the same result at Summerslam!

Overall: 9/10. Great show heading into Summerslam. All that bothered me was the rushed promos.
