Official Vengeance Card

WWE Championship; Five Way Sudden Death Match:
‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton w/RKO Army vs.
Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle vs. Edge w/Lita

Despite all of the build having all five men pinning each other constantly to throw in an element of surprise {except for RVD}, I don't think it would do much to have Orton drop the title in a multi-man match like this. He'll drop it to Edge in a gimmick match imo. Loved the build to this feud too, with heel HBK being a complete dick to everyone. He and Angle have been built pretty strong though throughout, with Angle only getting pinned once and Michaels not getting pinned. The sneak attack on Edge could possibly write him out of the Main Event {the Punt > Reney tbf} but I guess he could still appear. I would imagine that RVD takes the fall, as I see you jobbing him out to MVP in the next few months, but could be anyone. Great Main Event.

Hardcore Match:
Cactus Jack vs. ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga w/AAE

Wouldn't really make much sense to have an old veteran like Foley go over an awesome youngster like 'Mags now would it? This is a match I've been waiting for for aaaaaaaaaagggges, so I hope it's a strong one. Even though I mark for Show the beat down Cactus gave him was brutally awesome, especially the attack on the eye. AAE and Jack exchanging promos would have been a thing to read for sure. With Estrada so afraid of Cactus, I could see him staying backstage for the match at Vengeance perhaps. Should be bloody, and should be MOTN.

Intercontinental Championship; Texas Bull Rope Match:
John Bradshaw Layfield w/Angelina Williams vs. Carlito

IC title as a Main Event feud? I <3 you, Mac The way this feud has escalated has been great, going from a kind of comedy type rivalry in the run to WrestleMania and Backlash, to really becoming personal after JBL stole the belt. The storyline workd well too, with JBL wanting to reclaim his former glory days of '04 and '05, afraid to 'pass the torch', whilst Carlito wants to prove himself a Main Eventer and get revenge. It could go either way, as I thought at first that JBL would get a very long reign as Champ, but it would do SO MUCH for 'Lito to have him go over. I suspect though we could see a finish similar to Trips/Y2J LMS match from 2000, when it was essentially a draw, but Hunter just got the win. If that could happen in a Texas Bullrope match then it'll happen here thanks to Angelina. I loved Carly's attitude on the Cabana btw.

---

Fatal Four Way; #1 Contender’s Match:
Victoria vs. Trish Stratus vs. Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix

Odd seeing this on the card, but I guess it's to make up for that sham of a Women's title match you have Anyway, Mickie will be retaining, and I don't see her turning face anytime soon, so a WrestleMania rematch between her and Victoria at SummerSlam seems wholly likely. Beth winning would be interesting though. Trish as a dominant heel with a gameplan = ratings also.

Women’s Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Maria

One of the most random choices of #1 Contenders I've seen in ages, Mac. I hope that this match involves nothing but Mickie killing Maria for a couple of minutes to 'prove a point'. That would make it worthwhile.

Grudge Match:
Ken Doane vs. John Morrison w/Melina

Morrison > Nitro imo. He has more potential in this role I think. This feud was always going to happen, and I think Morrison will get a cheap win thanks to Melina {or the ropes/tights}, since it IS his debut PPV match with this gimmick. Doane beat JBL though, so that's a huge push for this guy. In all likelihood, they will both go after the IC title after this, regardless of the Champ.

World Tag Team Championship Match:
America’s Most Wanted vs. The Redneck Wrecking Crew

Well, AMW actually came out on top towards the end of the Raw recaps, and I think they've held the belts for a while. The way I see it, the RWC get a very cheap win here, possibly using a beer bottle or something, before dropping the titles back to AMW in a gimmick match down the line. I love the way you've given this feud some well needed attention too, as the tag division > most things. All four guys can hold their own on the mic too, so no worrys there {shoot promo from RWC indeed}. Could be a brawl, could be a GREAT tag showcase. We'll see.

Singles Match:
Sabu w/Bill Alfonso vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/Playgirls & Luther Reigns

Ha ha, I knew this feud was coming It's a great PPV debut match for Porter too, as Sabua always has a semblance of credibility to his name, and is always over due to the ECW Gimmick. Loved the debut of the *VIP Lounge featuring MVP*, and seeing he and Fonzie go at it verbally would have been a treat. Still, Porter to over ... cleanly?? I think that would do him well.

Really subtlely put together card, Mac. With the Five Main players all in the WWE Championship match, that means that Foley/'Mags and JBL/Carly will get some time as well. Should be awesome as ever

WWE Championship; Five Way Sudden Death Match:
‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton w/RKO Army vs.
Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle vs. Edge w/Lita
I don't see Orton losing here. Even after getting the last laugh on Edge on the last RAW before Vengeance, I can't see him losing yet. I more so see him losing around Summerslam, but coming very close in this match. I see numerous near falls in this one.

Hardcore Match:
Cactus Jack vs. ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga w/AAE
Consistently Cactus always loses 'his' matches much like The Undertaker. I see this being no different, with Umaga getting over huge in this one. I expect a lot of blood and weapon use, which I mark for. So can't wait for this one.

Intercontinental Championship; Texas Bull Rope Match:
John Bradshaw Layfield w/Angelina Williams vs. Carlito
Carlito is just getting built up better, but I don't see him beating JBL in his environment. Should be a good one regardless, and JBL continues to add more and more credibility to the Intercontinental Championship.

---

Fatal Four Way; #1 Contender’s Match:
Victoria vs. Trish Stratus vs. Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix
Smartest decision, imo. Trish and Mickie for GAB, in a pretty good one at that.

Women’s Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Maria
Don't really have to say much here.

Grudge Match:
Ken Doane vs. John Morrison w/Melina
The new heel debuts, old face has a grudge. This story's been done before, and the heel always comes out on top. Hope you make Morrison into something good, because he holds a lot of talent. Should be fun.

World Tag Team Championship Match:
America’s Most Wanted vs. The Redneck Wrecking Crew
I see the champs retaining, for some reason. I don't really see the Wrecking Crew getting the best of AMW, but it's always a chance.

Singles Match:
Sabu w/Bill Alfonso vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/Playgirls & Luther Reigns
REIGNS! Nice. I see MVP getting over on Sabu, mainly for being new and all. Should be a decent one.

All in all, looks like a damn good card for what should be a damn good PPV Mac.

Default Re: 2007 & Beyond - The Second Fucking Coming

Smackdown Thoughts:

June 1st - I love Cena as a heel in this thread but he was the one who got PINNED at JD. I would have liked to see him demand a one-on-one match for the belt. Chavo getting back to being a regular wrestle is awesome but I only see him facing guys like Simon Dean until he meets Rey in the ring. Triple H fined $20,000 for each show he misses? Something fishy is going on between him and Stephanie, imo. Chavo is the perfect tweener right now and he will obviously be a full-time heel if this trashing of Rey continues, which it will. Finlay vs. Henry feud has been great and I love the physicality, meaning another match between the two is in the works. Triple Threat next week for the CW Title sounds awesome but I see Daniels retaining. Batista turns on Ric soon, Flair is kinda turning face and Batista is still a jerk. I love Daniels promos and this one was great, especially about Noble not being in his league. The match between the New Breed and the CC was good and obviously Helms & Benji win, solidifying themselves as #1 contenders again. Kind of a weak main event and I can’t remember the last time a tag team match HASN’T closed your Smackdown. Good to see Flair pin Lashley but Batista is still acting like a jerk.

June 8th - Flair getting a shot at the US Title sounds awesome but I don’t see him winning. Finlay and Henry have gone to a whole new level and I don’t think this feud will stop until we see a gimmick match … Belfast Brawl? Punk beating Kash again makes sense and I can’t wait to see where C.M. goes from here. CC vs. L&K II at the G.A.B. sounds awesome and I hope we don’t see any interference this time. Rey beating Dean was good, as was Chavo watching the match backstage. I knew that Flair wasn’t going to win but it was good to see that he put up a fight. I wonder what the Hardys have to do with this match? Chavo is really hated right now and I hope Rey catches him talking about Mysterio. Hardys want to go into singles action and I think this may lead to a feud between the two. Noble wins the CW Title!! I never saw that coming, especially after Daniels finally got rid of Rey. Looks like Noble is the new face of the division but I wonder where ‘The Fallen Angel’ goes from here. Another tag team match ends the show and no surprise that Batista and Cena go the W. MR. KENNEDY RETURNS NEXT WEEK!! I love KK in this thread and I hope he brings back Undertaker or The Rock.

June 15th - Good way to kick off the show, with the victory by Sabin in the battle royal. I like that he and Noble are now feuding over the CW Title. Daniels explaining why he was not in the BR is good and he should be moving onto to bigger things. I didn’t even know you still had the Gymini. Hardys winning was a no-brainer but they are obviously going to be moving in separate directions very soon. Chavo is still running his mouth and it is about time Rey confronts him. Chavo backing down from a fight? Interested to see where this goes. I would be scared if I was Batista, Cena, or Flair because KK no doubt has someone huge coming to help him. Good argument between the Hardys and I wonder what Stephanie has in store next week. Cool idea having the Hooligans take on six hometown teams and I can’t wait to see the CC do the same next week. Henry and T-Lo want a match against Finlay next week but I don’t see that happening as Steph only said they’d be in the same ring. Mexicools beating the New Breed is OK but I am shocked that is the last match of the night. CM Punk vs. Booker T would be a very good feud but Punk would probably be outnumbered. I see Booker throwing Burke and Brown at Punk before he takes on CM himself. Very cool concept with the ‘Old vs. New’ contenders doing battle. Very interested to see who is in the match with Lashley at the GAB. THE MIZ RETURNS!!! YES!!! I knew that was only a decoy and now we see THE ROCK back in action. Great way to end the show, with Rocky and KK standing tall.

June 22nd - Shocked to see the CC beat L&K in the tag team challenge and that only adds more hype to the match at the GAB. Chavo will keep ducking Rey until Stephanie makes the match, imo. The alliance between Batista and Cena seems to be falling apart and that’s fine by me. Chavo squashing Holly? I know Holly isn’t a big name but I just don’t see Chavo beating him easily. Nice touch having Chavo breathe hard after the match. Typical Lashley promo, nothing really surprising here. Another step in the whole Stephanie-Triple H saga and I wonder what The Game means by ‘get active.’ I love seeing the Hardys and Daniels win the six-man tag. Great US Title match for the GAB and this means we will probably see Finlay vs. Henry at the GAB as well, double thumbs up for that. Good plug for Noble and I think he retains tonight, in shady fashion. I knew the New Breed wouldn’t be down for long and no surprise to see Elijah take down Super Crazy. Now they can focus all their attention on CM Punk, as it seems that feud is getting underway. Kid Kash coming out was a nice surprise and now it looks like we have three guys at the top of the division, things are about to get interesting, imo. Another very solid ending to the show, with Batista and Cena getting the final word this time, taking down KK and The Rock. This will be a great feud in the next month between these four.

Very solid recaps Mac. You pulled out a few surprises and I am loving the Smackdown main event scene right now. I don’t see a multi-man match at the GAB, possibly a tag team match as the main event, which is fine, imo.

Official Vengeance Card

WWE Championship; Five Way Sudden Death Match:
‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton
w/RKO Army vs.
Rob Van Dam
w/Bill Alfonso vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle vs. Edge w/Lita

You really put all your eggs in one basket for this match but the build has been phenomenal. I like the RVD and HBK are still at each other’s throats, which makes me think that a rubber match between the two is in order. Angle has just kind of been there but he has been impressive, beating Edge. Edge and Orton are hating each other and that is why I say Orton will retain. These two in the main event of SummerSlam in something like TLC, with Edge finally getting the belt, is so much more climatic that Orton losing in this match. Contrary to what Renegade said, I think the punt was a good edition to the feud.

Hardcore Match:
Cactus Jack vs. ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga w/AAE

Cactus Jack putting Show on the shelf is good but I don’t like that the stable of Umaga, AAE, Show, and Heyman is now finished. Maybe Big Show will come back later to feud with ‘Mags. Onto the match, I know that it will be brutal and it could be Foley’s last match because Umaga could hurt him horribly. I think that since Foley has had all the momentum heading into the PPV, Umaga finally puts him away after Foley kicks out of some nasty stuff. This would put Umaga over big time.

Intercontinental Championship; Texas Bull Rope Match:
John Bradshaw Layfield w/Angelina Williams vs. Carlito

I didn’t think that Carlito would return quite this soon but I guess you wanna finish this feud right away. I love the Texs Bull Rope match, as long as it is not the main event, which I know it isn’t. Carlito not saying anything to JBL on the Cabana was a bit surprising but I guess the time for talking is over, with the match sure to be a great one. Carlito to win back his coveted prize, with JBL moving into the WWE Title scene.

---

Fatal Four Way; #1 Contender’s Match:
Victoria vs. Trish Stratus vs. Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix

Nice little throw-in for the other divas. I could see Beth winning this and maybe beginning a face turn against her ‘partner.’ Gail has already had her shot and Trish would not be good in a heel vs. heel situation. Victoria has been feuding with Mickie forever so it would make sense for her to win. I am gonna go with Beth though, although the face turn probably won’t happen.

Women’s Championship Match:
Mickie James
vs. Maria

I am shocked that you brought Maria into the fray of the Women’s Division. I guess you needed another credible face to face Mickie before Victoria gets another chance. Seeing as how Victoria hit the Widow’s Peak to allow Maria the pin, I say that Maria is not going to have a chance against Mickie. Maria beating Trish was a bit of a surprise but Trish got revenge after the match, making Maria look weak again. No way Maria is going over your love interest (even though Maria looks better )

Grudge Match:
Ken Doane vs. John Morrison w/Melina

I love that you had Nitro change into Morrison, especially with Melina by his side to do the talking. I thought Morrison would be a full-blown heel right away but he is actually a tweener heading into the match. I say that Morrison and Doane put on a match with no funny business and Morrison will win, albeit not decisively.

World Tag Team Championship Match:
America’s Most Wanted vs. The Redneck Wrecking Crew

This is just a standard tag team feud, imo. Good to see these two finally going at it, as they are really the only credible tag teams left on Raw. I like that AMW have gotten the upperhand the last two weeks. I say that RWC finally get the tag titles, maybe even pinning AMW cleanly.

Singles Match:
Sabu
w/Bill Alfonso vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/Playgirls & Luther Reigns

This is a very good ‘starter’ feud for MVP. I like that you brought in the V.I.P. Lounge and Sabu was the first guest. Kinda surprised to see Sabu beat Reigns but it had to happen. I can see MVP cheating and using Reigns to help him win this one.

Looks like a very solid card, Mac. Other match may be hurt a little bit with all the main guys in the WWE Title match, but Umaga vs. Jack and JBL vs. Carlito are still potential show-stealers. I will be reading and reviewing the recap for sure.

Official Vengeance Card

WWE Championship; Five Way Sudden Death Match:

‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton
w/RKO Army vs.
Rob Van Dam
w/Bill Alfonso vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle vs. Edge w/Lita

Winner: Kurt Angle; Edge/Orton go off into their own one on one feud, RVD goes off to feud MVP and Michaels either faces Angle or goes off into something different.

Hardcore Match:
Cactus Jack vs. ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga
w/AAE

Winner: Umaga; he's fresh, Foley's as good as cooked, feud ending brutal match.

Intercontinental Championship; Texas Bull Rope Match:
John Bradshaw Layfield
w/Angelina Williams vs. Carlito

Winner: Carlito; the only reason JBL won the title in the first place was because Mickie wasn't set to lose her strap yet, despite a year with it already. 'Lito gets pushed to a whole new level going over JBL, sending JBL maybe into the WWE Title picture.

---

Fatal Four Way; #1 Contender’s Match:
Victoria vs. Trish Stratus vs. Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix

Winner: Trish Stratus; her feud with Mickie will culminate into SummerSlam.

Women’s Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Maria

Winner: Mickie James; Maria isn't winning the belt, she was just thrown into this to be an example.

Grudge Match:
Ken Doane vs. John Morrison
w/Melina

Winner: John Morrison; fresh debut, new attitude, decisive win.

World Tag Team Championship Match:
America’s Most Wanted vs. The Redneck Wrecking Crew

Winner: AMW; two title changes after this and AMW aren't set to drop the titles just yet.

Singles Match:
Sabu
w/Bill Alfonso vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/Playgirls & Luther Reigns

Winner: MVP; read Morrison.

lol.

I think we all pretty much know that Gade has lost his marbles. I'm gonna stop using the RKO too btw, since the WWE has been using that for YEARS. Seriously, I can't believe he typed that.

After Vengeance is posted, I'll post the reasons some of the decisions were made, the rosters and how the shows will proceed from there.

Thanks for all the predictions and feedback, much appreciated, even if they lacked logic.

With the difference being the RKO is his finisher which he's had for years, this PUNT!~ crap he's been doing since what August and you've never needed it before up to now. Just saying, you could've done better and been a tad more original.

And plz GTFO the Ric Flair jobbing with your subtle yet obvious attitude towards anything I say. kthxbi

WWE Vengeance
A Raw-Only Production

Opening video plays, focusing on the three main matches, the Five Way Main Event, Cactus-Umaga and JBL-Carlito.

We then get the gigantic pyro, before we cut to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, who run down the card.

World Tag Team Championship Match:
America’s Most Wanted vs. The Redneck Wrecking Crew
The two top tandems on Raw put on a decent enough match up, going with a basic tag team formula throughout, with The Redneck Wrecking Crew’s illegal tactics keeping AMW down and out for the majority of the contest, before Harris and Storm make the big comeback. The finish comes when, Harris and Storm miss the Death Sentence on Cade, with him moving out of the way, and it costs AMW in the end. Cade quickly disperses of Storm, and Murdoch enters. Harris remains all alone, and is soon laid out by the SWEET ‘N’ SOUR!! Cade then covers The Wildcat for the duke.
Winners - AND NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS - The Redneck Wrecking Crew @ 11:56.
TITLE CHANGE TO KICK OFF THE NIGHT. The fans don’t so much boo, but react with shock, as The Redneck Wrecking Crew just took the tag team titles as clean as a whistle from the mainstay of Raw’s tag team division.

***

The first of five interviews with the main event competitors takes place. First up, the champion, ‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton. Orton talks about retaining his title tonight for a quick second, before he moves onto Edge and his heinous attack of The Rated R Superstar on Raw. Orton shows no remorse, and then takes it a step further, saying he’ll be looking to finish the job tonight.

***

Elsewhere, Edge and Lita watch on a monitor. Lita tells her boyfriend to consider dropping out of this match since he’s got serious concussion … but The Rated R Superstar pays her no mind, and sits in his chair, and begins to lace up his boots.

***

Women’s Championship Match:
Mickie James vs. Maria
Maria can’t wrestle and Mickie’s held on to the title for over a year now. Easy victory for James, right? Wrong. Mickie struggles mightily with Maria for the six minutes the match lasts. Ross and Lawler don’t play it as Maria improving, but more so, Mickie not being able to put this one away, and giving one of her worst ‘performances’ as champion. Finally, Maria makes a mistake, going up to the top, which allows Mickie to hit the ropes and Maria falls off. Mickie then quickly finishes her off with the MickieDT and picks up the pin fall.
Winner - and still Women’s Champion - Mickie James @ 6:04.
Ross and Lawler throw out theories about why Mickie struggled so much with someone not on her level, and we have to wonder if Mickie’s loss at the hands of the Widow’s Peak a couple of weeks ago is responsible.

***

Backstage, John Bradshaw Layfield stands across the room from his couch, which holds the Intercontinental Championship. JBL merely stares at it, knowing fill well he could lose it tonight. His manager, Angelina Williams, tells him to relax and simply focus on winning, nothing else. Layfield nods, almost subconsciously, but continues to glare at the belt.

***

Split screen of Umaga and Cactus Jack, both men in their locker room, with Cactus looking incredibly focused, while ‘Mags savage nature has not changed a bit since Jack has come back, fearing no one.

***

Grudge Match:
Ken Doane vs. John Morrison
w/Melina
Morrison gets any and all thoughts of a face turn out of the way within the opening few seconds, SLAPPING Doane across the face. After the slap, Doane shows some intensity, and controls the next few minutes. The two young superstars, the future of the company, put on a solid match, showing some impressive athleticism throughout. The finish comes when the former Johnny Nitro looks to hit a corkscrew neck breaker, but Doane counters out of it, before he plants The Guru of Greatness with a DDT. Doane then leaps to the top turnbuckle in one bound, before he gets himself set, and leaps off, going for the GUILLOTINE LEG DROP, but Morrison moves out of the way, and Doane CRASHES AND BURNS!! Morrison then follows up with a Oklahoma Roll, hooking Doane’s tights for a three count!!
Winner - John Morrison via pin fall @ 10:11.
Morrison rolls out of the ring, and is soon joined by Melina as they back up the entrance ramp. Doane gets up, holding his thigh, and angrily glares at his former teammate, who just stole the victory

Backstage, Rob Van Dam and Bill Alfonso are interviewed by Todd Grisham. RVD surprisingly does all the talking, saying that the last time he was at Vengeance, one year ago, he lost the WWE Championship, but tonight’s gonna be different. It’s taken him a whole year to work his way back into the main event, and he won’t let it slip away.

***

Elsewhere, Mickie James sits in her locker room … not on a chair … but in the corner … on the floor … clutching her championship … damn near crying, as Beth Phoenix watches stunned.

Singles Match:
Sabu
w/Bill Alfonso vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/Playgirls & Luther Reigns
Even though he’s got a rather large entourage at ringside, MVP doesn’t need them at all, as this match acts as a showcase for the young, up and coming superstar. Without trying, the match really tells the story of two superstars heading into completely different directions; Porter forward and Sabu out the door. It’s not a squash by any means, but Porter is allowed to control the match for a substantial portion of the contest, and then picks up the clean win, with the Playmaker.
Winner - MVP via pin fall @ 8:34.
After the contest, Montel poses in the ring, as his Playgirls dance around him, and Reigns watches from ringside. MVP raises his index finger to the hard camera, representing his first PPV win.

***

Backstage, The Wrestling Machine Kurt Angle is interview on the WWE Title Main Event. Angle, never one to lack intensity, says that he’s snapping ankles and breaking necks tonight, regardless of who gets in his face.

Video package plays, hyping up the next WWE PPV, SmackDown’s Great American Bash, featuring The Rock, Batista, John Cena, Ric Flair, The Carolina Connection, U.S. Champion Bobby Lashley and the World Heavyweight Champion Mr. Kennedy.

Fatal Four Way; #1 Contender’s Match:
Victoria vs. Trish Stratus vs. Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix
The four talented divas put on a strong match up, easily the best women’s match since the Mickie-Vicky match at WM23. All four women are treated as relatively equal in skill to one another, though Beth has the clear strength advantage, Kim, the advantage in agility, while Trish and Victoria are the more experienced of the bunch.
The finish comes when Beth completely FLATTENS poor Gail with a Fisherwoman’s Buster ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!!! Inside the ring, Victoria avoids a Stratus Chick Kick, and then LAYS HER OUT WITH A RIGHT ROUNDHOUSE TO THE TEMPLE!!! Vicky waits in the ring, before she turns to Beth on the outside, and calls her in with an arrogant finger, which gets a pop from the crowd. Vicky watches with intensity as the woman who costed her the belt at WM23.
Once Phoenix enters, Vicky and Beth put on a tremendous display of power vs. speed, reminiscent of Cena-Sabin from NWO, but in the end, Vicky shows HER strength, countering Beth’s attempt at a Fisherwoman’s Buster, into a Northern Lights Suplex with a bridge … AND GETS THE WIN!!
Winner - And number one contender for the Women’s Championship - Victoria @ 13:51.
The crowd erupts for Victoria, as she gets one more shot, one more opportunity at Mickie James and the Women’s Championship.

SummerSlam video package plays, touting the PPV on 8/26 as the ‘Hottest Party of the Summer.’

Backstage, Armando Alejandro Estrada hypes up the ‘Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga for his semi-main event match later tonight.

A video package plays on the Carlito-JBL feud, with two different musical themes playing for the two halves of this feud: first half, a light-hearted feud between two mid-carders; second half, blood rivalry between a hungry, young superstar trying to reach the top vs. the grizzled vet, looking to snatch back the brass ring at all costs … including a hanging.

Intercontinental Championship; Texas Bull Rope Match:
John Bradshaw Layfield
w/Angelina Williamsvs. Carlito
The intentions and differing philosophy of both superstars become apparent, with JBL immediately looking to touch corners, while Carlito immediately yanks him back to him, clotheslines him down, and then begins to hammer away on him!! For the first twelve minutes into the match up, Carlito doesn’t once try to touch the turnbuckle, merely focused on beating down Layfield.
The match eventually spills to the outside, where JBL has the advantage. The Wall Street Warrior shows his strength and grip, picking up a steel chair, UNFOLDED, AND SLAMS IT OFF OF CARLITO’S HEAD!!! The crowd groans as Carly BLEEDS profusely, blood pouring from his forehead. Layfield tries to drag Carlito in the ring, but the dead weight doesn’t allow the Intercontinental Champion to pick up the victory. Eventually, Bradshaw does manage to get Carlito back into the ring … but then can’t drag him towards the turnbuckle. Layfield walks over to Carly … only to be drilled with a LOW BLOW!!!
Blood on his face, Carlito grabs a hold of the bell and mounts JBL, before slamming the bell against his face THREE TIMES!!! Bradshaw then finds himself BUSTED OPEN. The two engage in a fierce brawl for the next couple of minutes, before Carlito wraps the rope around the neck of JBL, leaps up, AND GRABS HIS BACK, POSSIBLY LOOKING FOR THE BACKCRACKER, BUT LAYFIELD DRILLS HIM WITH A LOW BLOW!!! Layfield takes the ropes from around his neck, AND PUTS IT AROUND CARLITO’S NECK!!
Layfield then drags Carlito and touches the first turnbuckle … BUT CARLITO TOUCHES IT AS WELL!!! Layfield touches the second and third turnbuckles, and Carly does the same thing as the crowd begins to stir, thinking JBL will lose the IC Title, just like he won his first WWE Title!! JBL drags him towards the final turnbuckle - AND CARLITO LEAPS FOR THE TURNBUCKLE, BUT JBL DRAGS HIM AWAY FROM IT!!! All of the lights reset, but Layfield doesn’t give a damn, and takes Carlito, drags him towards the turnbuckle, and TOSSES HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE, HANGING HIM AGAIN!!!!
Blood pouring out of his face, Carlito struggles to breathe, holding on for dear life. Soon enough, ANGELINA WILLIAMS sprints down to the ring, carrying a MASSIVE pair of SHEARS!!! Ross and Lawler wonder what kind of sick thing she’s preparing to do with them, but Angelina simply leaps onto the apron … AND CUTS THE ROPE, causing Carlito to crumble down to the floor below!!
Many wonder what the hell is going on, but that soon becomes apparent, as JBL, with no weight holding him back, and Carlito down on the outside, easily walks around to all four turnbuckles and touches them all!!!
WINNER - AND STILL INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION - JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD @ 19:41.
Ross blasts the ‘disgusting’ tactics of JBL, but Layfield couldn’t care less about what anyone thinks at the moment, crumbling down to the canvas, beaten and bloodied, surviving this WAR with Carlito here tonight. Soon enough, both Angelina and the IC Champion head to the backstage area. Carlito gets up on the outside, blood on his face and in his fro, disappointment on his face. The crowd stands and applauds the youngster for his INCREDIBLE energy and tenacity here tonight, probably disproving two of his biggest criticisms, his toughness and effort, here tonight. Caribbean Cool seems quite grateful for the applause, as he uses the ring apron to hold him up.

*If anybody’s used that finish before, my apologies. I don’t remember seeing or reading it before … but I get the funny feeling I’ve heard about it … might’ve been from myself though.

***

Backstage, ‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge cuts a promo. Edge seems surprisingly calm considering the assault that just took place six days ago, and says his focus is 100% focused on winning the WWE Title tonight. Grisham attempts to ask Edge about his concussion, but Edge simply walks away, not wanting to give any indications to any of his challengers watching.

***

A video package plays, giving us a rundown of the feud between Mick Foley and Umaga, starting just before SummerSlam 2006, where Cactus Jack took out Umaga to send a message to his SS opponent, Ric Flair. The Samoan Bulldozer gained revenge at Unforgiving ‘06, severely assaulting several superstars, before putting Foley through the announce table. Mick returns a bit before WM, but is simply beat down again, and put through another table by Umaga and The Big Show. Foley gets some redemption at WM, by taking out both stars with a steel chair. The feud continues from there with a couple of miniscule run-ins until CACTUS JACK returns, obliterated The Big Show, and Umaga-Jack is on.

Hardcore Match:
Cactus Jack vs. ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga
w/AAE
The match turns out to be all it’s hyped up as and more. Jack and Umaga easily put on the most brutal match in recent WWE history, topping the match just before theirs, Hunter-Rock at WM, and Batista-Angle from No Mercy. Some of the high points, include a Cactus piledriver on Umaga through the Raw announce table, a Samoan Drop from the apron of the ring through a table on the outside, Cactus grabbing his barbwire 2x4 and hitting his apron elbow onto Umaga’s face on the outside, and Umaga pulling a power bomb out of his arsenal, when he does the maneuver onto a litany of thumbtacks!!!!!
18 minutes into it, BOTH stars BLEED like they’ve been stabbed in the face a couple of times. Jack has control, but can’t do anything to put the monster away, he hits The Samoan Bulldozer with everything he’s got, including a DOUBLE ARM DDT onto the thumbtacks that he landed in earlier, but Umaga STILL refuses to stay down!! Cactus then goes under the ring … AND PULLS OUT A CAN OF GASOLINE AND A MATCH!!! The crowd erupts in cheers, as Jack slides back in, and douses his barbwire 2x4 in gasoline. Cactus then LIGHTS A MATCH, AND SETS IT ON FIRE!!! The crowd cheers as Umaga gets back up to his feet, and Cactus prepares to swing. Mags turns around, and then, as quick as a cat, KICKS JACK IN THE FACE, KNOCKING HIM DOWN, AND THE 2X4 ONTO HIS FACE!!!!!
It only stays on him for a split second before he shoves it off, but it gets the loudest HOLY SHIT chants of the night. Cactus clutches his bloody and burnt face in pain, but Umaga isn’t done with him, bringing Jack back up to his feet, before he DRILLS HIM WITH THE SAMOAN SPIKE!!! Still, even after his finishing maneuver, Armando Estrada hasn’t seen enough, telling Umaga to finish him … for good. Umaga lifts Cactus up, AND DRILLS HIM WITH A SECOND SAMOAN SPIKE … but it’s still not over!!! Umaga mounts Jack, and BEGINS TO JAB HIS TAPED THUMB INTO CACTUS’ THROAT OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER AGAIN!!! NINE times in all, as the blood begins to flow from Cactus’ mouth, turning Umaga’s taped fist from white to completely red. Umaga then covers Jack for the three count, as the crowd remains in stunned and horrified silence.
WINNER - UMAGA @ 20:03.
Cactus Jack lays lifeless, almost dead it would seem, in the ring as several EMTs rush down to the ring. Lawler gets up as well to check on him, as the camera focuses in on Umaga a bit. Looking at the Bulldozer, outside of the blood on his face and his heavy breathing, you’d be hard-pressed to prove that he’d just been in the war of a lifetime, as he shows no ill effects of the match up at all really, eyes crazed, seemingly craving more, as he stares at his bloody thumb.

***

After a promo for another one of the WWE’s DVDs, Cactus is put on a stretcher and helped from the ring.

***

Backstage, JBL gets stitched up, blood still trickling down from his face, his manager, Angelina Williams by his side. Layfield, pretty much out of it due to blood loss and fatigue, tells Angelina that his win over Carlito was ‘phase one’.

***

Mere moments before the main event is supposed to go on, we get an interview with ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels. HBK echoes his message of recent weeks, stating that RVD doesn’t belong in this match with four main eventers, before he informs us all that we should stick around to watch what happens up next, as not only will he be leaving with the WWE Championship, but he’ll give the world the show of a lifetime, like he always does.

***

Video package plays on the Five Man Sudden Death WWE Title Match, revolving around Angle’s lust for gold, RVD’s quest for respect, Michaels’ thirst for the spotlight, and the all-consuming feud between Edge and Orton.

WWE Championship; Five Way Sudden Death Match:
‘The Legend Killer’ Randy Orton
vs.
Rob Van Dam
w/Bill Alfonso vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle vs. Edge w/Lita
Despite his hatred for Orton, Edge is rather cautious during the opening few minutes, knowing one bad shot to his head can effectively take him out of this match. The match unfolds as a bit of a clusterfuck in the early going, but it soon slows down, with each superstar being taken out at a particular point, allowing one on one matches to develop, including an enthralling RVD-HBK showdown of one-upmanship.
The finish comes when all five superstars are in the ring with one another, scrambling for the upper hand. Edge looks to take out Orton with a spear, but The Legend Killer easily sidesteps him, and RVD pops Edge in the head with a side kick, knocking him out!! RVD turns around, and Orton goes to clothesline him over the top rope, but Van Dam counters, back body dropping Orton out!! RVD turns around, and Michaels goes for the Superkick, but Van Dam ducks … only to be grabbed by Angle and planted with a belly to belly suplex! The crowd pops as the two icons in the match, Angle and Michaels, square off. The two exchange several counters for what seems to be a full minute, with neither gaining the advantage. Eventually, RVD gets back up to his feet, and charges, clotheslining BOTH over the top rope!!
Edge and Orton begin to stir, as RVD looks around to the crowd, getting a thunderous reaction, before climbing the turnbuckles. Michaels and Angle get up to their feet on the outside, as The Legend Killer unnoticeably rolls back into the ring. RVD makes it to the top turnbuckle, and looks to leap off … but it’s too late, AS ORTON SHOVES VAN DAM OFF, CAUSING HIM TO LAND ON HBK AND ANGLE ANYWAY!!!
RVD, Michaels and Angle lay out on the outside as Orton does his Destiny pose to a large amount of heat. The boos of the crowd soon turns to heat, as the camera angle focuses in on … EDGE BEHIND ORTON, perched in the corner, READY FOR THE SPEAR!! The Legend Killer turns around, and EDGE CHARGES … AND DRILLS ORTON WITH THE SPEAR!!!
The crowd goes absolutely ape shit as EDGE HAS THE MATCH AND THE TITLE WON … BUT HE CAN’T CAPITALIZE RIGHT AWAY, due to his concussion … and instead turns away, and crawls back to the corner where he came from.
Edge wobbly uses the ropes, to pull himself back up to vertical base, as Orton gets onto his knees, holding his ribcage. The Rated R Superstar turns around to face Orton, as The Legend Killer staggers back up to his feet as well. Edge shakes his head, dizzy, as Orton begins to turn around, holding his stomach. The One Man Dynasty makes it all the way around … … … AND EDGE CHARGES AGAIN … ORTON CAN DO NOTHING BUT WATCH IN PAIN … BEFORE EDGE CUTS HIM HALF WITH A SECOND SPEAR!!!
The arena explodes once more, as Van Dam, Michaels and Angle begin to stir at ringside. Thunderous “RATED R” chants ring out around the arena, as Edge looks around, out of it. The Rated R Superstar then simply reaches his arm out … AND DRAPES IT ACROSS THE CHEST OF ORTON, who continues to hold his gut in incredible pain.

…1…

………………………..

……………..

…2…

……………

……………………….

!!!!!!!!!THREE!!!!!!!!
WINNER - AND NEW WWE CHAMPION -- ‘THE RATED R SUPERSTAR’ EDGE @ 29:17.
EDGE FINALLY RECAPTURES THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! The crowd ERUPTS into the LOUDEST ovation of the night, as Lita leaps around frenetically at ringside. The Rated R Superstar rolls onto his back into the ring, before raising his hands into the air in triumph. The three superstars not involved in the decision all make it back up to their feet, and as they hear Metalingus play, and Edge in the ring, the realization dawns over them. All three react disappointingly, but Michaels flails his hand at the goings-on before heading back up the ramp in a bitch fit.

The referee grabs the WWE Championship, and brings it into the ring, and hands it to a recovering Edge, who struggles back up to his feet. Lita enters the ring as well, and raises Edge’s arms with the referee. Soon enough, The Legend Killer sits up, holding his ribs in pain, only to see Edge celebrating with his championship. Orton’s face fills with various emotions, mainly shock and disappointment, as he stares at Edge.

Ross informs us that we are now in the third Rated R Era, and Vengeance goes off the air with Edge, arm around Lita, championship in his free hand, glaring down at a stunned Orton, who holds his ribs in pain, with Angle and RVD in the background.

END OF SHOW

Oshit @ Edge winning the title. Surprising to say the least but he had it coming to him soon, just didn't think it'd be now, I thought he'd save it for Summerslam. I guess Orton is gonna use this numbers disadvantage thingo to his favour in the future as far as title rematches go, but really I don't think anyone expected Orton to drop the strap here. AMW getting beaten by the Wrecking Crew too was a tad surprising. If AMW get jobbed out of this thread I will cry. They are better than ANY WWE tag team since MNM and deserve their spot on RAW. Mick Foley got fucked up like I thought he would, Umaga is savage, getting up after receiving a Double Arm DDT onto thumbtacks solidifies that. JBL beating Carlito was a must and he's proving to be quite the IC Champion, and I mark for him as it. Angel Williams once again involved in a unique way, I don't recall seeing that situation in BTB in the 3+ years I've been here tbh. MVP > Sabu was obvious, as was Mickie > Maria but for Maria to last six mins with a fairly talented female wrestler like Mickie James is almost sickening. Victoria getting ANOTHER title shot at Mickie gets the yawn of the night for me, this was a match one of the other three really could've done with a win. Trish or Gail especially feuding with Mickie would be great stuff. Morrison rightfully went over that shite Doane, job out plz. It seems you've struggled to get a solid card across with the 5 Man Match taking up alot of talent and having to have 2 diva matches is a bit too much but I'm sure with pushes for Morrison and MVP your midcard will be alot stronger looking in coming months.

Good stuff nigz. *Insert thumbs up here*

Vengeance Feedback

Starting off with the Tag Title match, probably was the best choice for an opener besides the MVP match, imo. New champions, I like it. Adds some freshness, which is always needed. Good tag feud plz. Moving on, Orton sounds as remorseful as Hannibal, which is awesome. I can see him retaining, but with that beginning title change I could be wrong. Mickie STRUGGLING? Well I can say I did not see that coming at all really. Still gets the win, but I see her dropping the title at Summerslam after this performance, or some time from Vengeance to Summerslam. Layfield looks to be nervous about losing the title, but I can't see him losing in his environment. I see him winning and then moving on to another challenger, or possibly the title scene or a bigger 'main event' level feud. Cactus/'Maga bulid = ratings. That match should be fucking epic. Moving on to the first debut match of the night, and Morrison picks up the win to no real surprise. I wanna see where you take him Mac. He's grown on me lately irl, and it should be fun to see where he goes. Van Dam I just don't see winning the title tonight, and his feud with Michaels should pay off at Summerslam in some type of match, just because they never really seemed to settle the score. Mickie...crying? Wow. I don't know where this is leading, but it should be interesting to read where it does. Anyway, MVP gets the win to real no surprise, push him big plz. Intense Angle is awesome, he's a real dark horse tonight and I really would not be surprised to see him win tonight, if thats the plan. Victoria getting the win in the fatal four way more than likely means that we'll be seeing her take the title off of Mickie at Summerslam being it her second shot at it. Wow, awesome awesome match with JBL and 'Lito. Brutal, just brutal and I mark for brutality in matches tbvh. A hanging for Carlito doesn't seem too surprising, and the 'rope cut' just made it more gruesome. Excellent, excellent ending to the match Mac. This is really just the beginning of the good stuff. 'Lito with the nice ovation, something tells me he'll stay up there in the mix. Anyway, Edge interview looked to be solid. I just don't see him winning the title, but hey anything can happen. WOW, Umaga/Cactus Jack was everything a Hardcore match should be. Unfreakingbelievable stuff you have in this match, with the burning 2x4, the barbed wire 2x4, AND NINE SAMOAN SPIKES. Goodness, Foley's dead lol, but he'll be back just because he's Mick Foley. I see Umaga getting a HUGE push after this match. Phase one? Wonder what that means. Anyway, 5 Way Sudden Death Match time, and this looked to be a greater match than the actual one that happened irl. NEW CHAMPION! WOW, did not expect Edge to win this one at all, but this just adds to the Edge/Orton story, which I expect to end at Summerslam in some type of gimmick. TLC plz.

Amazing stuff as usual Mac, can't wait for this to get back into the flow of things.
