Smackdown

Cena is just on fire, and you are using him so well. It’s perfect. The whole thing was superb, from the involvement with Flair and Batista, and the tension growing between them. Great shit. Even managed to remain decent when the overrated douchebag of a World Champ made his way out, although it slipped a bit there. But due to Flair being the greatest male human to ever grace earth, it was still great. (Flair > DeNiro) Three way scenario looks to be building, and it’s just hard to call where any of this is going. Cena still has the Taker and The Rock to deal with, whilst the whole MITB/tension angle between Flair/Batista is moving on too. Steph crashes the party, but makes a rather awesome and unique tag main event. The Kennedy – one more time – Kennedy lines were great. Can’t wait to see where it all goes Mac. So complex, so entertaining. I really mean that. And imo, right now SD! > Raw tbh.

Chad McWho? CM Punk and Kid Kash in the works? Works as a decent first opponent for Punk, although can’t live up to the two year build in FD’s thread, and a Mania match of course. Looking for big things from Punk, including a US Title reign, and/or maybe CW Title reign, by 2007’s end.

Glad to see you take King Booker back to Booker T. And now this can be one element that sperates what is two very alike groups you and I have. Which we both know is pure coincidence, as neither of us lack a creative bone for sure. But, from my heart of hearts, Hood Rich Royalty >>>>>> The New Breed.

Carolina Connection = AWESOME. Totally coming into their own, and I love the name that has evolved. Greatness tbh, and future WWE Champions imo. Very good match summary, and The New Breed steals the damn thing! BOOO!! CC for champs, PLZ?? Wait, now I get it. London and Kendrick the faces lose to the New Breed, the nasty heels. A couple months later this whole thing becomes one long drawn out culmination, and the CC take the titles. Excellent stuff Mac. Finally, someone besides myself and Wolfy who has actually put an emphasis on created teams, and importance in tag team action. Bravo.

Dude, this Smackdown may be the best I’ve read in a long while. Hitting on all cylinders. The reasoning Chavo gave was perfect, and the way you drew the whole thing out from Chavo’s actions and reactions at Backlash, to this promo, was just really good. Daniels coming out in the end was great too, and the whole thing just really flowed. Props for it, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Had to be some meh’ishness at some point. US Title scene gets it. Not too bad, but a continuing of Lashley-Henry is not the most exciting thing I could think of. Well, everyone’s gotta have time for a toilet.

More dissolving heat between Flair and Dave. Which I’m fine with, its time for each to move on. Dave on his own, and Flair finishing out one last Nature Boy run, with the fans behind him. But if Flair isn’t the one who goes babyface off of their split, I may lose my ability to control my tourette syndrome in your thread.

Jamie Noble and Sabin getting time on air to feud with eachother, and actually getting PPV time is weird for me. Seems unnecessary really. But they are good talents, no doubt.

Loved the newfound intensity in Regal. He’s lost his belt, but instead of floundering away, he kicks ass. Good shit.

Dude, how you actually managed to deliver entertainment in a Finlay/Henry. Finlay was great here. Henry didn’t do much, but Long was superb “THE WHITE instead of THE RIGHT”! IT just clicked well. Finlay continuing his subtle face turn you’ve been giving him, and I like it. Finlay for US Champion, plz.

Wonderfully booked main event. Well written, and Batista get the CLEAN pin on Kennedy! Finally … FINAAALLYYYY!! Cena allowing the champ to fall only furthered it all from that perspective as well. Batista holds up the gold, he and Flair get a little steam back in their collective engine, and the champ is finally the one on the bottom for a night. Brilliant end to one of the best Smackdown’s I can ever remember from you. Truly.

Raw

Great opening to Raw, with everyone wanting the title. Kurt coming down to fan fare was a great move, and this is a prefect place for him to step back into after finishing his war with Austin. HBK vs. RVD 2 is on for tonight, and Lita is in trouble.

Spirit Squad = No marks tbh. Yuck. Glad to see AMW dominate. Love Cade & Murdoch though. Big Show & Umaga were really awesome though, so sad about that focus being deviated off the tag belts. Smackdown owns Raw right now in tag team action.

Doane IS NOT A PHENOM! Get over that, plz? Shaman of Sexy = Toilet break coming to Raw. Monday Nitro > These jobbers. But for god sakes at least that puts one nail in the RKO-Rated R – Army scenario.

JBL’s speech should be one of Raw’s greatest ever moments. Vinnie Mac would’ve taken her out of the match for booby action, I know it. Then again, maybe not, he’d probably just fire her for refusing to give booby action. Whatever. Edge has other ideas, we’ll see.

Quote:
‘Golden Grand Slam Celebration in Support of America’s Wrestling God and Intercontinental Champion’.
^^So over the top, so JBL, and so golden. He is now a grand slammer, which is awesome. Although, I don’t think you mentioned the Hardcore strap, which he also had as well. Boo for Carlito ruining a perfectly good over the top ceremony. He invokes his rematch clause, which is fine. Was a little corny going so far with it, and kinda killed the segment from a JBL-fan perspective. Ah well, now JBL can beat Carlito clean next week.

Trish cheats to win, and is turning heel, or has been heel and is just exemplifying it. It’s fine, but I do wonder where its going with Mickie being a heel as well.

MVP versus Hardcore wrestlers/ECW? Decent enough place for him to start. He could have some rough tough battles, put in work, and earn some stripes. Good shit. Luther Reigns as his bodyguard works for me too. Foley next week to build into the war with Umaga is gonna be good.

Orton & Edge is just boiling over at this point. Good segment here. Rated R Superstar to be The champion at the end of this saga, for sure.

Great to see RVD win the rematch. The 20 minute Monday Night Raw matches featuring HBK are always phenomenal, and this one would’ve been no different. Good booking too having HBK win on PPV, and RVD on Raw. Rubber match, plz?

The whole Haas/Monsters angle is different for sure. That’s what makes it decent. I could certainly see Haas getting a nice heel push as the small guy backed by the monsters. Perhaps he and Big Show can win the tag belts eventually?

Mickie to go over Victoria again, PLEASE! For that matter, Victoria not to beat Beth, plz? Not that I don't like Vickie, but Mickie > all, especially Renegade tbh.

Mercury and Masters = Meh.

Wow … HUGE main event for Raw next week! Tough, tough match to call too. Gotta go with Angle for now. Maybe Orton gets that one last solid retain against Kurt before finally losing to Edge. What Edge does in the interim, or Kurt if the shoes are swapped, I don’t know. RVD & HBK can obviously have their rubber match at the next PPV. Interesting possibilities.

Cool that Lita actually got some moves in, which was cute. Fans would’ve loved it. 4:56 is WAY TOO LONG! Orton should’ve won way sooner than that tbh. But glad he RKO’d the bitch at center ring! Edge hits the ring, and all hell is set to break lose! Edge gets caught up! Van Dam! SCM!! HBK takes RVD out, then goes out himself @ the hands of Edge! And in the end, my pick, Kurt FREAKIN Angle takes Orton down. Great ending Mac, and next week is surely going to be huge.

Two great shows Mac. Two World Title scenes that are total toss up scenarios right now. Still think Smackdown > Raw in terms of overall quality and entertainment. Might be the full vs. recap form, but I really feel it’s the actual storylines too. Looking forward to more.

Much thanks for the review, NB.

After losing to Batista in a tag team match at the end of last week's SmackDown, the World Heavyweight Champion Mr. Kennedy gets a chance at revenge this week when he teams up with Matt and Jeff Hardy to take on 'The Animal' Batista, Mr. Money in the Bank 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair, and 'The Boss' John Cena. Can Ken Kennedy get back to his winning ways? Or has the pressure of being World Champion, and subsequently, being chased by two of the best on the ENTIRE roster, gotten to SD's loudmouth cornerstone?

Up for grabs on this week's SmackDown, a shot at a United States Championship Match at Judgment Day against Bobby Lashley; 'The Fighting Irishman' Finlay takes on someone cut in the same mold, William Regal. Will Finlay managed to defeat his fellow grizzled veteran in route to getting another shot at the U.S. Title? Or will William Regal get another opportunity at a championship that he was never pinned to lose?

When SmackDown rolls around, Booker T and his New Breed, Elijah Burke and Monty Brown, will be seven days away from an opportunity at the WWE Tag Team Titles against The Hooligans, Paul London and Brian Kendrick. We all know the Booker Man loves to talk, so one would have to assume that Booker will have plenty to say on his team's potential "crowning" next week.

And what will come of the strained friendship between Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero? After last week's 'confession' from his friend, what mental condition will Mysterio be in this week, with most believing that a rematch with Cruiserweight Champion Christopher Daniels not too far away?

All this and more Friday night at 8/7CT on FX.

Smackdown preview looks great Mac. The main event looks huge although I don't really like that you have had tag team matches for the last three weeks as the main event but they have been entertaining. Hopefully we will find out what the main event for JD is after the ME. I really want to see Finlay win but I have a feeling we will see Regal vs. Lashley at JD. I hope the promo between the Hooligans and the New Breed is good and it will be very entertaining as long as Bookah does all the talking. Finally, Rey vs. Chavo should be heating up and I think we may see a Triple Threat at JD since Daniels doesn't really have any other challengers. I will review Smackdown and I hope to see it up tomorrow .

Better late than never eh?

RAW Thoughts -- (Shorter only for the matter that it's a recap)

Really enjoyed the opening promo from the recap perspective. Liking Angle coming into this whole mix, and I don't think Edge will be coming out of this whole deal as the number one contender, more so Angle imo. Michaels/RVD should be stellar as it was at Backlash. AMW picks up the win and immediately starts a feud with Cade & Murdoch. I'm alright with that. Might not be the biggest fans of them but if it provides a solid feud for the Tag Titles, then I will enjoy seeing how this feud progresses. Looks like we'll be seeing John Morrison. Sounds good to me. *Thumbs up* Liking how this whole Lita thing is going, with Edge continually attempting to frantically call the match off. No doubt that the match will take place tonight. No doubt. Nice promo from JBL here, liking Angel Williams as his valet as well. Probably will give him some character boosting, and the rematch next week should be pretty good. Good win for Trish here, and hopefully this leads to her getting the Women’s Title or at the very least, a title match. Sounds like a nice MVP promo (PUSH HIM~), hope to see him become more involved in the show as the weeks go on in this thread. Nice Edge/Orton interaction here, and Orton really looks like the son of a bitch heel that he should be made out to be. Real nice job of displaying character there Mac, even in the recap. Looked like an AWESOME match with RVD and Michaels, and to no surprise in my mind, Van Dam gets the victory. I expect a rubber match down the line, with some sort of gimmick attached to it. Would be nice to see. Haas winning over Masters looks good, but I’m somewhat lost when it comes to the whole deal with Estrada pointing to his head. Explanation plz? Anyway, main event looks amazing for next week, definitely cannot wait for the fatal four way. Not surprising end result with Orton beating Lita, gee who didn’t see that coming? End to the show was nice, with all the guys involved in the main event next week coming out. Angle looked to come out as the strongest, which again leads me to believe he’ll probably come out victorious next week.

Awesome recap, sorry it took so long for me to get this up. I’ll review your next SD! to repay you for not doing the last.

~ SmackDown looks to be classy as ever, Mac, especially the intriguing World Heavyweight Championship situation. All signs appear to be pointing to a beyond awesome Kennedy/'Tista/Boss Triple Threat Match at Judgement Day, but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Double K and Big Dave get their blow off in a gimmick match. I can't believe that Cena has put Rocky out for a lengthy amount as well.

~ I'm torn for who I want to win in the U.S title situation, but it will more than likely be Regal, as Finlay has business with Mark Henry and Teddy Long.

Big promo from Booker and The New Breed plz. I was under the impression that the tag division would be just below the WHC division

~ The CW situation is intriguing as hell, since I have no idea which way Chavo will go. Killing Rey would be too obvious ... wouldn't it?

Post. The. Darn. Show. Plz.

Unshineboxed.

Bad timing stopped the Reney/Mac 'Shinebox' thread from being as good as it could have been (and from continuing), so it's back to the drawing board.

I'm going to quickly recap from where I left off up until Vengeance (similar to the way Naitch did so in his thread). Shit will get started tomorrow with a recap of what happened up until SmackDown's Judgment Day.

Great to hear that this thread is back!! I loved what you did after WrestleMania to keep the thread good and what I am most looking forward to is the World Title situation between Kennedy, Batista, and John Cena. Of course, I will be reviewing even the updates.
