Re: WCW 2001- The Trio Ownership
Heyman Deciple’s Nitro Review
Teddy Hart & Jack Evans Vs. Shane Helms & Super Crazy: I liked the Super Crazy, El Tardo line it was pretty funny but anyway onto the match it seemed like a fun match and a good way to kick off the show. In the end Teddy Hart & Jack Evans get the win due to Helms costing Super Crazy the match and the after match steel chair attack by Helms was good too and does a good job of further setting up their match for Starrcade.
Ric Flair Interview: Good solid interview here with Flair as we get his thoughts on tonights match, as well as his thoughts going into Starrcade.
Lance Storm & Cal Anderson Vs. Curt Hennig & Mike Awesome: Fun match and I was really glad to see Cal pick up the win along with Calgary’s greatest athlete Lance Storm. After the match, Storm attempts to put Awesome threw the table which I had a bad feeling about and Awesome turns the tables so to speak on Storm and Lance goes through the table.
Billy Kidman – Rey Mysterio: Zero Charisma, ha, I like that. This was a really well done promo segment with Kidman pouring out his heart and soul to Rey Mysterio and their Last Man Standing Match at Starrcade should be awesome and thank you for not letting Tony ruin the mood. Tony sucks.
Chuck Palumbo & Sean O’Haire interview: I found this segment to be entertaining. First Palumbo kind of screwing up his promo was pretty good and then we get an attack from the Natural Born Thrillers. “Honestly guys, it wasn’t that much of a beat down.” Pure gold.
Booker T – Larry Zbyszko: Nice segment here heading into the tag match later and I hope Zbyszko gets his ass kicked because well, I don’t like him.
Kevin Nash Vs. Ric Flair with special referee Hulk Hogan: This was entertaining, first Nash and Flair put on a decent match and then somehow Hogan gets the win, “Dude.” I liked it, it was very Judgment Day 98-ish when Austin refereed the Undertaker-Kane match and we all know Vince Russo is the greatest booker ever, so I approve.
“But Tony, you said that about Starrcade 2000 and it sucked. Oh and you said it about Mayhem, Halloween Havoc, Fall Brawl…” It’s funny because it’s true.
Scott Steiner – Sting: Once again Steiner brings the awesome. This was a really fun segment especially with your personal commentary. Funny stuff.
Jeff Jarrett & Eric Bischoff Interview: Good interview here with Jarrett & Bischoff as they head into the Main Event.
Booker T & Larry Zbyszko Vs. Jeff Jarrett & Eric Bischoff: Too bad this ended in a no contest but the resulting big ass locker room brawl was good. This was a great chaotic ending leading into Starrcade and I’ve always liked the big locker room clearing brawls. So well done.
This was a great show, I was highly entertained. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
And if you want to give my BTB a review some time, that would be appreciated. Thanks.
It's like 1993 all over again... Mainstream pro wrestling in the United States sucks.
WWE sucks. TNA sucks.
Thank god for Japan, Mexico, and the indies... And the Internet making alternative forms of pro wrestling more accessible than ever.
If it wasn't for YouTube and podcasts I don't know where I'd be as a wrestling fan in 2014.
