Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Smackdown Preview for Friday August 4, 2006
Manchester, New Hampshire

360 Degree Angle

Kurt Angle's title reign could be in jeapordy if last week's Smackdown has anything to do with it. Mark Henry destroyed Kurt Angle in a Street Fight last week on Smackdown. JBL tried sticking his nose in the match but Angle would end up fighting off JBL. However, this gave Henry a chance to strike and that he did. This week on Smackdown, Kurt Angle won't be at the show but will deliver an interview via satellite.

Two Friends, One Title

Two good friends will go at it this Friday night as Rey Mysterio will meet Matt Hardy one on one with the winner fighting Mr. Kennedy at SummerSlam. This comes off the fact that Hardy and Mysterio beat Mr. Kennedy and Finlay last week. GM Theodore Long said that he was going to reward them for their huge win last week but only one will move on to SummerSlam. Who will gain the title shot?

Real Tough Irish Bastard?

At the Great American Bash, Finlay entered himself into something that at the time was none of his buisness. Now it's all BUT his buisness! Finlay cost Bobby Lashley his US title in the Steel Cage Match at the 'Bash and last week on Smackdown, Lashley made him pay whenever he nearly Speared Finlay out of the ring. Will there be able to be any form of control between this two on Smackdown?

For this and much more, tune into Friday Night Smackdown, this Friday on UPN at 8/7 CT

Ok, Smackdown is going to go up most likely later tonight. If not, It'll have to be Wednesday as I don't find myself getting much free time tomorrow.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Match #1
#1 Contenderís Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Booker T vs. Carlito vs. Test

Good to see this match get some good time to open the show. Never expected to see Test win, so it was not a surprise to see him eliminated first. Carlito, being eliminated was not a surprise either, as Carlito in my opinion, still needs some more work before challenging for the title. As for Hardy beating Booker T to win the match, makes sense as Benjamin/Hardy would be the best feud out of the options for the match. Shelton attacking Hardy after the match, keeps the heel heat on Shelton. Shelton/Hardy looks to be a possible show stealer at Summerslam if given enough time.

Great way of showing Shelton to be an arrogant heel. Looks like a possible Benjamin/Hass feud is going to take place in the future in this thread.

Good diva's match and nice way of combining both feuds. Melina and Victoria getting the win is great booking. Looking forward to Victoria/Mickie at Summerslam.

I like how you have McMahon's team in friction with one another but somehow agreeing to work as a team. However I have a feeling that the team will come apart at Summerslam.

MNM winning the match was expected, as they are a better team than the Highlanders. However it is possible, that a possible feud between the two teams might take place.

Jericho and Palumbo working as a team is original and creative. Flair's promo was good, and great analogy with as you said somehing like Flair is to steel cage as Michaels is to stealing the show. Great segment. As far as the match, the match was good, and got both men over even though Flair lost by DQ. Edge hitting the Con-Chair-To on Flair after the spear to Flair, keeps the heat and momentum on McMahon's team. Great commentary as well with JR and the King.

Funny, but short video of Cryme Tyme. Looking forward to the team coming to Raw in this thread. As far as the Jericho/Sabu match, it was one of the better matches on the card so far. Surprised to see Sabu getting the win, as I thought Jericho had the match won.

Woah! Austin and Cena are the final two members for Team Michaels! This Steel Cage Match is going to be off the chain! What a way to end the show though with Edge and Flair. Edge is really playing a great heel in this feud.

Overall Comments: This show was excellent man, and I admit that Summerslam is looking like it is going to be a classic here in BTB. Also, great Smackdown Preview, and I'm looking forward to Smackdown.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday August 4, 2006
Manchester, New Hampshire

Rise Up by Drowning Pool hits and the normal Smackdown video package plays. We shortly head into the arena, heading over to the commentating team as usual to kick the show off.

Michael Cole: Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown and only sixteen days remain until SummerSlam so we are bound to have a huge night ahead of us.

Tazz: Cole, weíve got a major night ahead of us and mainly because of a major match our GM announced earlier in the week.

Michael Cole: And I know youíre referring to Rey Mysterio taking on Matt Hardy one on one tonight for the Number One Contendership.

Tazz: Thatís right Cole, two good friends, but only one title shot against Mr. Kennedy at SummerSlam, this is going to be a big night!

Longhorn hits across the arena and out steps one of the contenders for the World-Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, that being JBL. JBL makes his way into the ring, still wearing his red, white, and blue warm up jacket and in his tights. JBL rolls his way into the ring before walking over and grabbing a mic.

JBL: What happened last week was wrong and each and every one of you here in this little rundown, town you like to call your home know that it is true!

The crowd boos as JBL just ignores them.

JBL: Teddy Long pretty much ruined my week by forcing me to put my career on the line at SummerSlam to even get into the World-Heavyweight Championship match. He didnít do anything to Kurt Angle or Mark Henry but yet, Iím the one that is picked to put their career on the line? Well Teddy, let me just go ahead and tell you something bucko!

The crowd boos once again as JBL clearly isnít in the mood.

JBL: Iíve worked hard here on Smackdown and Iím not going to let some ďfraudĒ such as you try to end my career. Iím the longest reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown history, yet Iím treated as if Iím just some other superstar around here. Well show some respect because greatness is in your presence and that greatness is standing right in front of each and every one of you here tonight!

The crowd starts JBL sucks chants.

JBL: No, I certainly do not suck! What sucks is the fact that Teddy Long has pressured me into putting my career on the line just so he can try and get rid of me. Teddy, if you want me gone from Smackdown, just say so. Iíve never liked you Teddy and my hatred continues for you to this day because well, youíve abused your powers first off ever since you were hired as the General Manager and youíve been out to get me Teddy.

JBL shakes his head in disappointment, moving across the ring, as the crowd pretty much at this point doesnít care.

JBL: Teddy, whether you want to say it or not, you know itís true. Youíve thrown obstacle after obstacle at me and thatís why Teddy, itís time for me to make your life hell. Teddy, one day I promise you youíre going to pay for what youíve done to me.

The crowd starts ďShut upĒ chants as clearly they are bored now from JBLís speech.

JBL: TeÖ

MacMillitant hits and out walks the Smackdown General Manager, Theodore Long. Long doesnít go down to the ring but instead stays up at the walkway.

Theodore Long: JBL, not one day playa have I abused my powers against you. You know that and I know that playa. I k..

JBL: Youíre a liar Teddy! How can you come out here and say all of this crap when you damn well know that youíve abused your powers. Youíve put me in matches when I was injured, and just most recently, youíve forced me to put my career on the line! Well TedÖ

Theodore Long: Playa, I didnít force anything! You forced this upon yourself. You said youíd do anything and well, putting your career on the line is anything. And playa, donít be cominí in here tryiní to get an attitude with me because yÖ

JBL: What are you going to do Teddy? Are you going to force me into a match tonight such as a Steel Cage Match? Are you going to try and stack the odds against me even more Teddy? What do you have against me Teddy?

JBL stands in the ring, demanding an answer from Long straight up.

Theodore Long: I donít know how many times Iíve got to tell you but I donít have a thing against you dawg!

JBL: You know what, Iíve had enough, Iím leaving and Iím heÖ

Long stops JBL as JBL is about to get out of the ring.

Theodore Long: Wait playa, you canít leave just yet. Ya see dawg; I put you in a match for tonight already.

JBL: Teddy, I deserve a night off for a change. After all, I am a WRESTLING GOD!

Theodore Long: I donít care playa who you are. But tonight, youíre going to be going one on one with the newest member of the Smackdown roster. I just signed him from Raw as he was a free agent playa so everybody give a warm welcome forÖ

Theodore Long: Kane!

Slow Chemical hits across the arena and out walks Kane. Kane walks out to the walkway as it looks like JBL has pissed his pants in the ring. Kane stares down JBL from the ramp way as JBL doesnít really know what to think as we head to a commercial break.

---Commercial---

Michael Cole: And weíre back from the break Tazz, but what a major announcement for tonightís main event!

Tazz: Kane has found himself a new home on Smackdown and if I was JBL, well I donít know what Iíd be doing right now.

Michael Cole: If that wasnít a big enough way to kick the night off with, just wait because right now, weíre about to have our number one contenderís match!

Tazz: Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy, two good friends going at it for ONE shot at the United States title, only one man can get it, who will it be?

Match #1
#1 Contenderís Match for US Title
Rey Mysterio vs. Matt Hardy

Match Overview: The opening match gets a bunch of time due to the two wrestlers that are in the ring because of their talent. As a side note, Mr. Kennedy is sitting at ringside watching the match to see whom heíll have to compete against at SummerSlam in 16 days. Both Hardy and Mysterio being faces donít cheat at all during the match or use dirty moves but instead keep it a very clean and friendly contest in the ring. Hardy was able to take advantage after Mysterio leapt off the ropes for a Seated Senton but missed, causing Mysterio to hit the mat hard. Hardy went on the offense from there on taking down Mysterio with some huge clotheslines before Irish whipping Mysterio into the corner. Hardy charges into the corner and hits a huge clothesline before pulling Mysterio out with him and Hardy hits a Running Bulldog! The fans donít know whom to cheer as both men are getting mixed reactions in the ring right now. Hardy starts to size up Mysterio for the Twist of Fate and as Mysterio gets back to his feet, Hardy grabs Mysterio looking for his finisher but instead; Mysterio pushes Hardy into the turnbuckles. As Hardy comes back at Mysterio, Rey hits him with a dropkick rebounding Hardy off the ropes. Mysterio gets back to his feet, before Irish whipping Hardy into the ropes himself but Mysterio leaps off the ropes with a Cross body but got only a two count! Mysterio quickly gets back up and as Hardy turns around, Mysterio catches him with a Tilt-A-Whirl Headscissors! Mysterio runs back at Hardy but this time, Hardy catches Kennedy with a Side Effect! Hardy covers but only gets a two count. Hardy makes his way over onto the top rope, possibly looking for the Diving Leg Drop but Mysterio is quick to run up the ropes and he hits a Hurricanrana from the top rope! Mysterio doesnít cover but instead, heads back onto the top rope! He looks down at Hardy, possibly looking for the Frog Splash and he leaps off and MISSES! Another huge turn in the match as both men are down in the ring. Hardy crawls over and covers Mysterio but only gets a two count once again. Hardy gets back onto his feet and walks over before pulling Mysterio back up! Hardy tries once again for the Twist of Fate but Mysterio quickly drop toeholds Hardy into the ropes. Mysterio runs off the ropes, looking for the 619 but Hardy ducks out of the way! Mysterio watches as Hardy turns around but Mysterio quickly leaps onto the top rope and jumps off, this time catching Hardy with the Seated Senton! The fans cheer on Mysterio as he covers and gets the win!

Winner and #1 Contender: Rey Mysterio

Mysterio celebrates for a little bit as Kennedy watches on from the outside. Mysterio walks over and helps Hardy back onto his feet as Mysterio and Hardy both hold each otherís hands high in the air. Kennedy applauds Reyís accomplishment but really, heís doing it rather sarcastically. Kennedy taps his United States title, showing Rey that heís going to have to do better than that to beat him at SummerSlam for his title.
---Commercial---

After the break, we head backstage to see Mr. Kennedy standing by with Kristal.

Kristal: Mr. Kennedy, just a few moments ago, we witnessed Rey Mysterio beat Matt Hardy in the ring. Now this meÖ

Mr. Kennedy: BlahÖblahÖblah! Kristal, we all know that Rey Mysterio is the number one contender. And quite frankly, nobody cares. Rey Mysterio poses no threat to my United States title because of the fact that I am on a big streak Kristal. Iíve beaten some of the biggest names in the WWE and you can now add the man that I beat for the United States title to that list, that being Bobby Lashley.

Kristal: Rey Mysterio has always been an underdog in matches but at times, he has prevailed. What do you think are his odds at SummerSlam.

Mr. Kenendy: Honestly Kristal, he has none. Iím not called the fastest rising star in Smackdown history for no reason. Rey can say anything or do anything he wants because at SummerSlam, I will strip him of his dignity and pride in that ring. I want his entire family to be watching the match because Iíll have no regrets for what I do to little Rey in the ring at SummerSlam.

Kristal: Mr. Kennedy, finally one more question. Do you think Matt Hardy will play any role at SummerSlam?

Mr. Kennedy: If Matt Hardy were smart, he wouldnít mess with me at SummerSlam. Iíve beaten Hardy before on numerous occasions. Matt has tried to take me down but has failed each and every time. So now itís his little buddyís turn and well, itís not going to happen. So go ahead, from Green Bay down to Orlando, say it loud! Say it proud! Your United States Champion, Misterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Kenneddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Kennedy walks off but comes back quickly. Kennedy throws his US title in the face of Kristal.

Mr. Kennedy: KENNEDY!

We head backstage shortly after this to see William Regal and one of the newest members of the Smackdown roster, Dave Taylor making their way to ringside.

Michael Cole: When we come back, weíll be seeing Dave Taylor in action tonight as he goes one on one with Paul London!

---Commercial---

Match #2
Dave Taylor vs. Paul London

Match Overview: Taylor works over London in the ring as Regal is on the outside, cheering on Taylor. Kendrick is also at ringside too supporting his tag team partner. Taylor took advantage once London missed a dropkick. Taylor quickly covered but only got a two count. Dave rolls back over and gets back onto his feet. Taylor catches London with a European Uppercut as he drives London into the corner. Taylor tries placing London on the ropes; potentially looking to end the match but London fights back with some rights. London breaks free as he runs off the ropes and hits Taylor with a flying back elbow! Taylor rolls back over as London is on the top rope. Taylor runs at London but London hits Taylor with the Mushroom Stomp! Taylor hits sternum first into the turnbuckles and the momentum is coming back to London. London makes his way over back onto the top rope, setting himself up possibly for one of his finishers. London leaps off the rope for the London Calling but he misses as Regal pulls Taylor out of the way. Kendrick runs over and knocks Regal down, brawling with Regal. Taylor takes advantage, grabbing London quickly and hitting the British-Plex! The fans boo as Taylor hooks the leg of London, OneÖTwoÖThree!!!

Winner: Dave Taylor

Michael Cole: William Regal and Dave Taylor have cheated here tonight, causing London to lose his match tonight.

Tazz: Itís not cheating unless you get caught Cole and well, Regal didnít get caught so quite frankly, itís not cheating!

Michael Cole: Thatís not the fact Tazz! London had this match in the bag until Regal stuck his nose into the match.

Tazz: Either way, Regal and Taylor are surely solidifying themselves as a force to be reckoned with here on Smackdown, thatís for sure!

We head backstage to the interview area to see Mark Henry standing by himself.

Mark Henry: What I did to Kurt Angle last week shouldnít be a surprise. Kurt Angle is just another victim in my journey to the World-Heavyweight Championship.

Henry throws his hair back with water flying around everywhere as the fans boo Henry.

Mark Henry: At SummerSlam, the Silverback of the Jungle will take his seat upon the throne of the World-Heavyweight Championship. I will show everybody why I am the biggest and baddest superstar on not only Smackdown, but in the WWE.

Henry looks into the camera.

Mark Henry: Kurt Angle, wherever you are at right now, look into my eyes. What I did last week is just a sample of what Iím going to do to you at SummerSlam. Youíre going to be begging the referee to stop the match because I promise you Kurt and JBL, I am not going to be denied on my quest to the top of the Smackdown jungle.

Henry steps back from the camera.

Mark Henry: I will prove to each and every one of you why I am the Silverback of the Smackdown jungle!

Henry walks off as we head to a commercial break.

---Commercial---

We head backstage after the commercial break to see Batista heading into the General Mangerís office.

Batista: Teddy, I want the Undertaker at SummerSlam!

Long stops Batista as Batista looks pissed and ready to erupt.

Theodore Long: Whoa! Now calm down playa!

Batista: Give me the Undertaker at SummerSlam or I promise you, I will ruin everything that you have going for you on this show.

Theodore Long: Batista playa, my plan all along was to give you the Undertaker at SummerSlam but under one conditionÖ

Batista: And that is?

Long steps back as Batista shows a slight but sick smile.

Theodore Long: You will get your wish at SummerSlam dawg; it will be ďThe AnimalĒ Batista going one on one with the Undertaker for the final time! But to assure this is the final time, Iíve arranged a special stipulation for this match.

Batista doesnít say anything as Long continues on.

Theodore Long: In a Last Ride Match!

Batista looks a little worried about the Last Ride Match at SummerSlam. He walks around back and forth as the fans cheer for the huge match.

Theodore Long: Now playa if you donít mind, Iíve got some work to do.

Batista walks out of Longís office, speechless. Batista knows this is a specialty match of Undertakerís and he shows a little concern in his face. The camera follows Batista for a little bit of time before we head down to ringside.

Michael Cole: If SummerSlam couldnít be any bigger, it certainly just got bigger! Batista will meet the Undertaker for the last time at SummerSlam!

Tazz: Itís going to be huge Cole, mainly for the fact that itís going to be the second ever Last Ride Match.

Michael Cole: The rules of a Last Ride Match are simple. You beat your opponent down until you can force him into a hearse. Once the opponent is in the hearse and driven off, you will win the match!

Tazz: Itís only happened once before Cole and the first time it happened, it turned out to be a huge match!

Match #3
MVP vs. Paul Burchill

Match Overview: This match takes place after last weekís backstage confrontation between ďPirateĒ Paul Burchill and MVP after MVPís Open Challenge win last week. MVP looks a little concerned heís in the ring with a Pirate but he does eventually take charge whenever he hits MVP in the sternum and then bashes Burchillís head off the turnbuckles. MVP quickly took advantage after that whenever he charged into the corner and Burchill with a huge Playerís Boot to the face. MVP holds his boot there before pulling it back down. Burchill falls down onto the mat as MVP looks over and yells ďBallin!Ē before running off the ropes and dropping the Balliní Elbow! MVP wastes no time shortly after pulling Burchill back up, looking for the Playmaker but Burchill was quick to reverse his way out of the move, Burchill quickly grabbed MVP looking for his finisher, Walk the Plank, but MVP quickly poked Burchill in the eyes and slid to the outside of the ring. MVP makes his way up the ramp as the ref counts MVP out.

Winner via countout: ďPirateĒ Paul Burchill

---Commercial---

We head backstage after the commercial break to see Finlay running around chasing Hornswoggle.

Finlay: Get back here yaí little bastard.

Hornswoggle continues running around for a little bit as he runs underneath the makeup ladyís legs and he runs around in circles as Finlay tries to grab him. Hornswoggle continues running until he runs into somebody.

Finlay: Haha, I got ya now!

The camera moves up to reveal the face of Bobby Lashley! Finlay has no clue that Hornswoggle ran into Lashley until he looks up. Hornswoggle has a shocking look on his face, one of disbelief as Finlay steps back.

Bobby Lashley: Whatís wrong Finlay?

Finlay: Look BoÖ

Lashley picks up Finlay and throws him against the wall.

Bobby Lashley: NO! You listen! Talk is cheap Finlay and actions do speak louder than words. You cost me my United States title at the Great American Bash!

Lashley places Finlay down.

Bobby Lashley: So Iím going to cost you something valuable of your own.

Finlay looks puzzled, wondering what Lashley is talking about.

Finlay: Donít mess with me Bobby. Iím a tough IrÖ

Bobby Lashley: I donít care what you are. Youíve messed with the wrong person Finlay and now, itís going to cost you your career!

Lashley walks off as Hornswoggle is still in amazement he ran into Lashley. Finlay berates Hornswoggle for getting him into this.

Finlay: You stupid little bastard!

Hornswoggle looks mad but runs off anyways as Finlay goes back to chasing him again. Hornswoggle is heading back to the area he came from in the first place before he ran into Lashley

Finlay: Get back here!

We head back into the arena to the commentating team at ringside.

Michael Cole: Tazz, weíve still got a huge main event left ahead of us tonight but letís go ahead and look over the SummerSlam card.

Tazz: First off, WWE presents the 19th annual SummerSlam, live in sixteen days from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California!

Michael Cole: The Smackdown side of things are shaping up as we already have three blockbuster matches set!

Tazz: First off, announced earlier in the night, Batista will meet the Undertaker for the final time but this time, itís a Last Ride Match!

Michael Cole: Thatís huge in itself but then weíve got Rey Mysterio challenging Mr. Kennedy for the United States title.

Tazz: A first time match for those two men as they have never met before one on one so that should be great but what about the main event.

Michael Cole: Itís going to be huge because Kurt Angle must defend his title against JBL and Mark Henry and he can lose the title without even getting pinned!

Tazz: Special shout out to Chris Jericho and his boys, Fozzy for providing the theme song for SummerSlam, Enemy!

---Commercial---

Match #4
Jamie Noble vs. Super Crazy

Match Overview: Jamie Noble, the Cruiserweight champions meets Super Crazy this week in a Great American Bash rematch. Noble has his tag partner, Kid Kash at ringside supporting him, as does Super Crazy who has Psicosis at ringside with him. Super Crazy gets some good offense in early taking down Noble with some huge dropkicks before his final dropkick sends Noble into the turnbuckles. Super Crazy runs and hits a Spinning Heel Kick in the corner, sending Noble reeling down onto the mat. Psicosis is egging Super Crazy on to take advantage right now as Super Crazy leaps onto the bottom rope and hits a Moonsault. Super Crazy quickly runs back over and hits the second Moonsault on the second turnbuckle. He then quickly gets back up to run and hit the third Moonsault but Kid Kash jumped onto the apron distracting him. This caused Super Crazy to lose his balance and fall onto the ropes splitting the up-rights! Psicosis runs over to check on Super Crazy in the ring as Kash quickly attacks Psicosis! Noble rolls back onto his feet, looking to take advantage as he pulls Super Crazy back onto his feet. Noble throws Super Crazy between his legs and lifts him into the air, looking for the Tiger Bomb but Super Crazy reverses with a Hurricanrana! Super Crazy keeps the leg hooked, OneÖTwoÖThree!!!

Winner: Super Crazy

Super Crazy slides out of the ring, celebrating his win tonight over the Cruiserweight champion. Super Crazy has now a singles win over the champion. The ref pulls Kash and Psicosis apart as Psicosis goes to celebrate with Super Crazy up the ramp. Kash rolls into the ring as Noble canít believe he has lost two weeks in a row.

Michael Cole: Another huge win for one half of the Mexicools and if that doesnít mean he deserves a title shot, I donít know what does!

Tazz: Indeed it does Cole but Iíve been told that right now, you are about to give Kurt Angle his interview via satellite.

Michael Cole: Ok, letís go ahead and get it set up. Kurt, are you there?

A video suddenly pops up with Angle in his ring gear except wearing his new t-shirt. Angle adjusts his little earpiece ďmicĒ

Kurt Angle: Yes, Michael I am.

Michael Cole now sits back and prepares to start the interview from ringside. Angle is listed as via satellite but really, heís backstage in a room. Angle sits himself up in the couch.

Michael Cole: Kurt, first off can you give us an update on your condition after last weekís brutal attack on you by the Worldís Strongest Man, Mark Henry.

Kurt Angle: Iím fine. I just have some bruised ribs but other than that, Iíll be back in the ring next week. But as far as Mark Henry is concerned, he is going to be lucky if he ever wrestles another match in his life whenever I am done with him. Hell, heíll be lucky if he is able to even walk again for the rest of his life.

Michael Cole: So itís safe to say that you still think your chances at SummerSlam are still high?

Kurt Angle: Mark Henry didnít stop me or put me out of action. Itís going to take a whole lot hell of a more to keep me out of action than a Worldís Strongest Splash. This title right here (Angle pats his World-Heavyweight title) means more to me than anything that I have done not only in my career but also in my entire life. And Iím not going to just hand it over because Mark Henry tried to take me out.

Michael Cole: Kurt, youíve only got sixteen days until SummerSlam so do you think youíre going to be at 100 percent come that time.

Kurt Angle: Michael, Iím already at 100 percent. I may not be there physically right now because of my ribs but mentally I am. If Mark Henry knew what was best for him, he wouldnít even show up at SummerSlam because I promise you, one of them (JBL or Henry) arenít going to walk out and if I have it my way, BOTH of them might not walk out of the building.

Michael Cole: Now Kurt, youíve had the World-Heavyweight Championship since May and you havenít had such a threat to the title such as Mark Henry. Are you a little concerned that he migÖ

Kurt Angle: Iím not concerned about Mark Henry or JBL. Iím concerned about myself Michael because I canít be worried about them. Iíve got to worry about MY title. Iíve got to go into SummerSlam knowing that I am the best wrestler in that ring, that I am the man that won a Olympic freakiní Gold Medal! And that I will be the one that will walk out of that building in Los Angeles with this title still in tact.

The crowd pops as Angle repositions himself as he shows a smile.

Michael Cole: Kurt, one more thing. You seem to be worrying about Mark Henry but not JBL. Are you taking JBL lightly?

Kurt Angle: Michael, like I said, Iím not worried about anyone or anything. I got to the top by working hard and working my butt off. But I can promise you that if either one of them have a problem with me or thinks they can take my title away this Sunday, well then they can ďman upĒ and try to take MY title. This World-Heavyweight Championship is only going one place and thatís back home with itís current ownerÖ

Kurt Angle: Kurt Angle!

The crowd pops.

Kurt Angle: Oh itís trueÖ

The crowd chants along with AngleÖĒItís damn trueĒ

Kurt Angle: Itís damn true!!!

Michael Cole: Kurt, thanks for your time and weíll see you here next week on Smackdown!

Tazz: And when we come back, itíll be time for the main event, which will see JBL going one on one against the newest Smackdown superstar Kane!

---Commercial---

Match #5
JBL vs. Kane

Match Overview: An exciting, power based main event that has JBL take on the newest Smackdown superstar, that being Kane. Kane works over JBL, working on the throat as he tries to choke out JBL but JBL was able to counter that attack by kicking Kane in the sternum and then clubbing him right across the back hard with a few fists. JBL then went to work on Kane by Irish whipping him into the opposing ropes and knocking Kane back down onto the mat with a big Shoulder Block. Kane gets back onto his feet as JBL goes to pick him up but JBL budges and Kane knocks him down with a clothesline. Momentum is back on the side of the Big Red Machine as he goes to lift JBL into the air and he successfully does landing a huge Power slam! The fans cheer on Kane as he covers but only get s a two count. Kane gets JBL back to his feet before sending JBL flying into the opposing turnbuckles. Kane charges in the corner and nails a huge clothesline before throwing JBL out of the corner. JBL stumbles back right into the hands of Kane, whoís looking for the Chokeslam! JBL however was quick to boot Kane down low and the ref saw this, automatically disqualifying JBL from the match.

Winner via DQ: Kane

JBL wastes no time, hopping out of the ring quickly as it seems JBL is ďafraidĒ of Kane. The show ends with Kane sitting back up in the ring, much like his brother Undertaker does. JBL is up the ramp, staring down Kane as the show comes to a close.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

WWE.com News and Notes

It has been announced that at SummerSlam, the first WrestleMania 23 video will air. WrestleMania 23 will be coming to you live on Sunday April 1, 2007 live from Miami, Florida at the American Airlines Arena.

The video of Cryme Tyme that recently played on Raw this past Monday is to hype up the new tag team that is coming to Raw. JTG and Shad Gaspard will be playing a racial parody gimmick. This will be one of the few new teams that WWE will be looking to start slowly but surely building their tag division up.

Gregory Helms who has been on a break since after Vengeance will be looking to make his return most likely in October or so. Helms has enjoyed his time off that he has had and wants to continue it for a bit longer. Though don't rule out a return possibly after Unforgiven in September but as of now, it's looking most likely to be in October.

The fall is going to be a busy few months for WWE because of the Smackdown Premier on the CW in September, the WWE Homecoming II in October, and of course Unforgiven, No Mercy, Cyber Sunday, and Survivor Series will all take place. So once Fall rolls around, busy months will be ahead of the WWE.

WWE is expected to debut at least one new name within the month of August. There is a possibility that there could be two. This goes along with Cryme Tyme who will be making their debut on the Raw after SummerSlam. WWE has had workers in OVW for a while and have been trying to phase their current "unwanted" workers out for a while.

Vince is really depending on SummerSlam to bring him in some big ratings. That's why he's pretty much stacked the card this year with the Steel Cage Showdown, RVD vs. Jericho, the Triple Threat Title Match, Benjamin vs. Hardy, Kennedy vs. Mysterio, and the Last Ride Match having been announced. Vince really feels this can be one of the best PPV's of the year.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Great news KOP. It looks like Summerslam is going to be huge. Also, if both you and I are able to post our PPVs (Summerslam in your thread, and Survivor Series in my thread), this month of October, I think that there is a huge possiblity that those two events will be huge contenders for PPV of the Month in BTB for the month of October.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Raw Preview for Monday August 7, 2006
Greensboro, North Carolina

Extreme Rematch?

The number one contender to the WWE Championship, Chris Jericho, was upset last week in a one on one match against the recently new superstar on Raw, Sabu. This week, Jericho has asked for a rematch but to prove that last week was a fluke, for it to be under Extreme Rules! This means that anything can go and well, this is certainly in Sabu's playing field. Can Jericho back up his words whenever he takes on Sabu or will the ECW Original get the best of Jericho?

Naitch's Revenge

Shawn Michaels showed up late last week on Raw prior to making his announcement and what he had no clue of was what Edge did to Ric Flair earlier in the night. Edge came down after Flair's match with Randy Orton and beat Ric Flair to a bloody pulp. Michaels didn't find this out until Raw went off the air. Michaels this week has asked for a match against Edge to try and get some redemption for his friend and tag partner at SummerSlam in the Nature Boy.

An Xtreme Win

Jeff Hardy was able to overcome the odds last week as he walked away with a huge win over Test, Booker T, and Carlito in the Number One Contender's match. Hardy has the week off this week from the ring but however, his opponent for SummerSlam will be in action. Hardy will be looking to scout his opponent for SummerSlam. What has caused the recent attitude change in Shelton Benjamin?

Picture Perfect

Melina's win last week over Maria was huge in Melina's books but this week, she finds herself against a "huge" opponent. Her oppenent is a former Women's Champion in Mickie James. We've been told that tonight, the current Women's Champion, Victoria, has been banned from ringside to keep this a fair and even match. Can Melina score another huge upset in her upstart career in the ring or will Mickie roll right over Melina on her journey to regaining the title?

For all of this and more, tune into Raw this Monday on the USA Network at 9/8 ET.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

SmackDown Review
I feel good after reading the opening promo. JBL was right in character, and the flow was perfect throughout the promo. Theodore Long's entry was nice too, and liked the way he put JBL in another 'obstacle'. Can't really figure out JBL's future though. A feud with Teddy? Or a feud with Kane? Oh, let's see. Nice promo to start with, btw.

Good match to start off the action of SmackDown too. Face versus face matches are always entertaining, and this entertained me as well. Mysterio was expected to me by the way, so it was no surprise to see him becoming the Number One Contender to the US Championship. Mysterio vs. Kennedy should be good, but I don't see Rey beating Ken though. Don't know what Matt is gonna do now though.

Kennedy's promo here was just okay to give some hype for his match with Mysterio. The arrogance and cockiness wasn't really there from Kennedy so I can't say he was in character. Kennedy instead sounded too bland to me. This promo would've been better.

A tough match up here between Taylor and London. It was a good wrestling contest, and I'm glad that you had Regal interfere too because it makes realistic. The brawl at the outside would've been nice too, but for some reason, I don't know why it doesn't excite me that much. Maybe try to put caps on where it needs - only to excite the readers? Anyway, the finish was unpredictable so hats off to you. Good to see Dave Taylor picking up the victory here. Looks to me that Regal and Taylor really are proving to be a threat for the tag team division of SmackDown. Let's see what you've stored for them in the future.

Henry was spot on, but the promo needed some intensity. Every promo cut by Mark Henry has LOTS of intensity in it. I don't know if any other guy doesn't find it, but to me, he's filled with intensity. Nice promo anyway, but just needed a little bit of intensity there.

Didn't really got entertained by this promo at all, and I can't blame you though because you had Bore-tista, who has got no mic skills in my opinion. 'Taker vs. 'Tista in a Last Ride Match would be good though. One thing I didn't really like in this promo, was that you didn't took importance with the fans. The reactions from the fans would've been alot better here to be honest.

I loved how the way this match ended. MVP does like that, so it was realistic. The way this match ended makes me believe that we might see a match between MVP and Burchill at SummerSlam, but I'm not sure. I hope MVP doesn't get burried in this feud though. Let's see what you've got here.

Would've loved to watch this promo even thought this was so short. I'm predicting a match between Batista and Finlay for SummerSlam, but I could be wrong too so I'll just wait and see.

Enemy by Fozzy as SummerSlam's theme song? Ooops. I think No Way Out 2005 had this song too, so don't know how you can have ONE theme song for TWO different pay per views.

Surprised to see the Cruiserweight Champion get beaten by Mexicool's Super Crazy. Not THAT much surirpsed though because I know you're a fan of Noble and Crazy. One the other note, I'm not really excited about this feud though - maybe it's because I've never liked Mexicool's? I don't know... let's see what you've booked with them in the future though.

Nice promo from Kurt Angle, but once again, you fail to create intensity. Angle also shows intensity in his promos. Anyway, this promo was decent enough to hype the main event of SummerSlam, and it looks to me that Angle will be the one to walk out with that title. I don't know why, but Angle is my pick. Nice promo.

A match between Kane and JBL would'nt be exciting. Lolz. Anyway, it was an okayish way to end the show. JBL looking 'afraid' of Kane was a nice way to end the match, but JBL now looks without a good build up. JBL is heading for the World-Heavyweight Championship Match, and he needs more momentum. Didn't like that. Anyway, where is Kane heading though? I don't really think that Kane has got any direction at all.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

King Of Pain's SmackDown! Feedback

Sorry this is so late, man. I've had a hectic few weeks

~ With JBL kicking off the show again this week, it is becoming increasingly obvious that he is carrying this World Heavyweight Championship feud on his back, since Mark Henry and a {face} Kurt Angle can't cut the mustard in terms of promos that will entertain for long stretches of time. The sad thing is, it's quite clear that JBL will not be winning at SummerSlam, as I think he will be taking the fall and Angle/Henry will be set up at No Mercy. With Teddy Long the one asking for JBL's career and this very personal promo, I can definately see you setting up a JBL/Long program once JBL is retired, with the outcome possibly JBL becoming General Manager. Just a thought. This was a good promo to kick off with, as are most of your JBL ones. He can occasionally become a comedic character, so it's good that you are incorporating some intensity into it. One thing to be wary of though, is getting sidetracked by this business with Teddy Long instead of keeping JBL in the Triple Threat mix. Basically everything Teddy says is a lie, since he clearly does have a problem with JBL; otherwise you wouldn't try to end his career and then place him in a match against Kane. I was wondering what had become of him, and I find it funny that no sooner does he win a Loser Leaves Raw match, then he, uh, leaves Raw. Ha ha. He should work well on SD with all of your young heels [not MVP though]. The match tonight should be poor, but it's likely that Henry and Angle will get involved.

~ One hell of a match to get things under way tonight, with Matt Hardy against Rey Mysterio. Probably the two most consistent workers on SD right now in my opinion, and Hardy has probably been the most consistent in the WWE for two years. I don't really think you're that high on Hardy to be honest, since I can't remember him winning a PPV match yet in this thread. He lossed at RR, jobbed to KK at NWO, lost in MITB at WM, lost to Booker T at JD, and lost to Rated RKO at GAB. No surprise to see him go down cleanly to Mysterio here then, a guy you clearly are high on. Rey's had his U.S title run though, and a good five month one at that, so I can't see him beating Ken at SummerSlam. It should be a good match though.

~ Good interview with Kennedy next. The "Blah, blah, blah" stuff was very reminiscent of his post-MITB speech from this year, which I happened to love. I'm not really sure what to make of the comments about Matt Hardy's possible involvement in the match. I hope this doesn't mean he will be in Rey's corner. I'd rather see it become a Triple Threat match than just have Hardy not doing anything active like that.

~ So it looks as though Regal and Taylor are into the WWE Tag Team title picture right away. I can't understand why you got rid of the FBI in such a hurry, as then you would have had at least three passible team, whereas now you only have two, two teams who have feuded lots of times. Nice to see Dave Taylor pick up his first singles win, but I can't honestly see them getting the belts, as more than likely we will just see a succession of heel teams get fed to Londrick. Deuce N' Domino soon?

~ Well that was certainly a short segment from Mark Henry. I know exactly the kind of promo you were trying to recreate, and I have to admit that I am quite a big fan of them. Henry was quite in character, but it is glaringly obvious that his focus is all on Kurt Angle, and that the real feud here is between those two. He only mentioned JBL in passing.

~ Wow, you are so realistic with this thread, KOP, that you actually have The Undertaker working a part time schedule I can't really say that I'm that hyped about this feud with Batista anymore, since you have given it precisely NO build since GAB, but for Dave's shouting at Teddy. Not the best build for what should be an epic Last Ride match to be honest. What has me stumped is that 'Tista has come off looking decidely poor so far in this feud; losing at Wrestlemania and then getting DQed at GAB; if he were to go down once again in the Final Encounter, then he might look like a bit of a bitch. On the other hand, I'm not sure how high you are on Undertaker either, since you jobbed him out to Christian at the start of the thread. It really could go either way.

~ Ah, this was the feud that got me excited last week, as it was VERY unique. I thought it might get some actual build, but instead we get the 'Kane' route and MVP gets thrust into a match early on. This could work as a SmackDown filler feud leading to SummerSlam, but I can't honestly see you burying either men. I can't see it getting onto the SummerSlam card though, since both men are fresh in singles competition.

~ I didn't reall like this backstage skit between Finlay and Lashley. To be honest, I wasn't all that pleased when you introduced Hornswoggle at the GAB. It was such a great night for Finlay, as he snapped and beat the hell out of Lashley. It didn't need the inclusion of a Leprechaun really. What was a very intense and personal feud seemed very comedic here, thanks to Hornswoggle, as well as Lashley's piss poor promo skills. I'm hoping for a gimmick match between these two at SummerSlam, but judging from this kind of build, I don't we'll even get a match.

~ Another good match up tonight for the Cruiserweights. I can't believe that you will go for another Noble/Crazy CW title match when the potential for a Fatal Four Way at SummerSlam is right there. With Crazy pinning Noble for the second straight week, he is clearly in contention, and I think it's only a matter of time before Kash and Psicosis stake claims as well.

~ I wasn't too sure about not having the Champ there live tonight when I read the preview, but it actually seemed to work really well, with you tapping into Kurt's face mentality and persona well. He was suitably intense, as one would expect, and i feel that the satellite link gave it a lot, especially since it all adds to the 'face in peril' storyline. Give me Angle with taped ribs at SummerSlam and i'll ne happy

~ As I expected, this Main Event was nothing special wrestling wise, but it was a unique pairing nonetheless, since i can't ever remember seeing JBL and Kane square off. No real surprise to see JBL do the MVP and make a run for it, but I hope you don't suddenly throw Kane into the mix. This should really have been a one off. Kane could feud with Kennedy or Burchill later on I reckon.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty good show, man, although I think you could add so much more to it by giving it some more length, especially the promos. You spelling and grammar were both fine, and your booking leading into SummerSlam is looking superb. With another few matches, it could be your best PPV since 'Mania

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Smackdown Analysis:

Well since half the time I normally end up telling or clearing up most of the storylines, I might as well start doing an analysis of the show to break down each and every match/segment like most do. So I'll stop babbling now and go ahead and get onto it now.

I really did like the opening promo. I felt it went over well and well, as far as the JBL/Long thing, it actually does tie into the Triple Threat in a way. Long put JBL in the match at SummerSlam of course so JBL feels he's being screwed over. Yeah, it's just a coincidence Kane came over. I actually had him coming over possibly later in the year but I opted to go ahead and bring him over now.

Meh, as far as Hardy goes, that's kinda a coincidence too. I don't normally just push people I like. I try and make it seem realistic as you see. I felt that at the time Kennedy, Booker, and Rated RKO all needed the wins more than Hardy. He's had a decent push this year though as I want to say he's beat Kennedy and Booker plus a few other "big names on SD!" so he hasn't really been ignored. Don't worry he's got plans for later on...

Kennedy's interview was more or less just go get him on the show. As far as Hardy's role, well that will be determined later. I actually thought of a Triple Threat Match but I opted against that considering the fact that there already is a Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam.

FBI even feuding with L and K was a short term thing because I had no other teams. As mentioned before, SD is going some changes right now to the roster and well, it's taking a slow but drastic change.

Henry right now is the least bit concerned of JBL. His main goal is to beat Angle for the title and JBL is a side thing to him. Of course, that could lead to his downfall but well, that's just how it goes.

The Last Ride Match has been planned for wow, probably two years now. I planned my WrestleMania back in 2005 around December so yeh, it's definently been a while. This was way before 'Taker/Batista had there feud going on of course. 'Taker was actually on SD a lot before the GAB but he's more or less "playing off" the chair attack from the GAB right now.

There won't be a match between MVP and Burchill at SummerSlam. MVP just came over in June, late June as a matter of fact so really, he hasn't "developed" yet. I don't think he's ready for a big PPV like SummerSlam so no need to worry about that right now.

Yeah, sorry if Hornswoggle is making the feud a little bad. Lashley/Finlay has probably gotten the shortest build of all the matches at SummerSlam other than Kennedy/Mysterio. I personally think the match is going to be good though as I've already wrote it and I think the match will make up for the lack of build. Two hard hitters in one match is always fun to watch.

Look at it this way, Noble now has one singles win over Super Crazy and SC has one over Noble. The "series" is tied at 1-1 between each other. So pretty much, their next match will be a "tie-breaker" of sorts.

Angle getting the week off was good as it sold the ribs injury. Of course as he mentioned he'll be back next week with nine days left before SummerSlam. I thought this was better to do than have him appear on SD "live"

Kane was a one off thing. He's actually going to find himself floating around for the next two weeks or so until after SummerSlam is over. After that, whenever it starts to get closer to No Mercy, he'll have a feud. As far as the Triple Threat goes, well expect all three men to be back into the "feud" next week if you know what I mean.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Monday Night Raw
Monday August 7, 2006
Greensboro, North Carolina

Raw opens up with a special edition of the Cutting Edge. The Cutting Edge hasnít been seen on Raw since January earlier in the year. Edge makes his way down the ramp, hyping himself up after his attack on Ric Flair last week. Edge shows the video numerous times, sometimes even in slow motion to make it more dramatic. Edge says that since Flair isnít here tonight and will be lucky if he makes it to SummerSlam, now his goal is to take out the team captain. Edge was about to introduce his guest but instead out comes Shawn Michaels! Edge smiles with apparently HBK supposed to have being the guest later tonight. HBK calls Edge a low coward. Someone that attacks someone from behind is very low. HBK says that tonight Edge is going to get what he deserves. Edge then asks HBK what is that? HBK sits back and ponders on this for a bit but out of nowhere, he takes out Edge with the Sweet Chin Music. HBK then gets into the face of Edge and says ďThat!Ē Michaels was about to leave but as he turns around, Edgeís teammate Randy Orton makes his way down to the ring. Orton is standing behind Michaels and HBK has no clue! He turns around right into the RKO as Orton helps his teammate back onto his feet! Orton then watches as out runs John Cena. Orton slides out of the ring and pulls Edge out with him. Cena checks on his team captain at SummerSlam. Mr. McMahon now comes over the titantron and says that since John Cena wants to get involved tonight, weíre going to have ourselves a huge match tonight. It wonít be Edge vs. HBK tonight because itís going to be the team of John Cena and Shawn Michaels teaming together to take on Rated RKO! Everybody goes wild in the arena, knowing they have a huge main event ahead of them later tonight along with the Extreme Rules Match.

The night kicks off with a match between Carlito and Booker T. Both men have had their differences in the past for a while now, heading back to late June or so. Booker works over Carlito as Carlito had tried for a Back Cracker but missed and hit his back on the mat. Booker worked over the back of course; bending it in ways it shouldnít be bent. The fans are booing Booker as he continues to wear down the young fan favorite. Booker tries taking down Carlito with a Houston Side Kick but Carlito ducked and Booker got hung up on the ropes. Carlito runs over and clotheslines Booker over the top of the ropes sending both men to the outside. Carlito starts pounding on Booker on the outside and the ref is trying to break it up as both men are rolling on the ground, hitting each other hard. The ref continues to try to break it up but he canít get any control and he calls for the bell! The ref has deemed this match a No Contest. JR says that he has just been informed that at SummerSlam, there will be a rematch between both of these men.

After this match backstage, we see Charlie Haas warming up backstage. He is getting ready for his next tag match tonight. Haas is stretching and much more but talking to someone. The camera doesnít cut over to reveal who it is but we never hear the other man talk either. Haas says letís go and it only shows Haas making his way out of the locker room. It blanks out and heads to a commercial.

We come back after the commercial break for our second match. Cade and Murdoch are already in the ring, awaiting one of their opponents that they know. Haasís music plays and out walks Haas but behind him is Big Vis! Viscera makes his way down the ramp with Haas. Both get down to the ring as the match begins. It is a relatively short match anyways as Haas works most of the match, trying to push his storyline right now. Cade and Murdoch do their best to work over Haas but Haas was able to fight back and hit Cade with a three trio of German Suplexes. Haas then made the tag into Viscera as Viscera came in. Vis knocks down Cade with a clothesline and as Murdoch runs at him, Vis looks to catch him for a Powerslam and he does! Viscera runs off the ropes looking to hit the Big Vis Splash onto Murdoch but Cade pulled Murdoch out of the way. Cade runs over and knocks Haas off the ropes as Vis gets back onto his feet! Cade and Murdoch both run at the same time and hit the Sweet and Sour to score the win! Haas gets back to his feet to realize that he has once again lost in another tag match! Haas makes his way to the back as we head to the back ourselves.

We cut backstage to see Todd Grisham standing by with Chris Jericho and Chuck Palumbo. Todd asks Jericho how he is preparing for the Extreme Rules Match later tonight but Jericho stops him right there. Jericho says that Sabu does not scare him at all. Unlike Sabu, Jericho has made a living in normal wrestling matches. Jericho says that tonight he steps out of his environment but that Sabu better be ready for the Jericho experience. Jericho walks off as Palumbo gives a quick look to Grisham as we head to another break.

A new Cryme Tyme video airs this week, this time having both the characters of JTG and Shad in a shopping mall. Both men go up to a man at a vending machine. The man pushes the buttons but the candy bar gets stuck in the machine. Shad shakes the machine causing the candy bar to fall out for the man and as he goes to bend down to get the candy bar; JTG grabs the manís wallet. The man walks off thanking Cryme Tyme for their good deed as they both look at the money and count it. Shad elbows the machine before he leaves and money comes out of the cash part! The promo ends with Shad and JTG gathering coins off the floor.

We head backstage to see Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro standing back with Melina. Charlie Haas happens to walk by as MNM crack a laugh at Haas. Haas asks MNM if they think something is funny. Nitro says that he canít take Haas serious as a wrestler, whether itís singles or tag! The crowd boos this comment as Haas looks at Nitro. Haas gets into Nitroís face and says ďJust waitĒ Those tag titles right there will be mine one day. Mercury then says ďYou canít win them by yourselfĒ and Haas gives a glare to Mercury. Haas walks off as MNM all laugh at Haas after he suffered another tag loss earlier tonight.

After the break, we have our third match of the night, that being Mickie James taking on Melina. Victoria has been barred from ringside tonight to prevent interference during the match. Mickie and Melina both put on a fairly good match with both women putting there all in the match. Melina does get a decent bunch of offense in showing that she does have a future in the womenís division. Mercury and Nitro are at ringside on commentary, watching their ďwomanĒ wrestle. It went downhill for Melina after she missed a kick to Mickie as Mickie went on the offense from there planting Melina with a Bulldog and then finishing her off with her finisher, the Mickie DDT! Mickie got the cover for the win. Mickie slides to the outside as both Mercury and Nitro slide into the ring to check on Melina. Mickie backs her way up the ramp looking at Melina and she gets to the top whenever Victoria pummels Mickie from behind with the Womenís Championship! Victoria stands over Mickie with a sick and twisted face with the title around her shoulder now.

The SummerSlam video airs.

We come back from the break to see John Cena and Shawn Michaels with Maria. Both men are questioned how they are feeling heading into the match next. Cena and Michaels say they are pumped for tonight and that Rated RKO stands no chance. Michaels says that since Edge took it on his own to take out Flair, Michaels will take it up on his own to lay out Edge. Cena and Michaels say a bit more about Rated RKO as we head down to ringside for the match.

The fourth match of the night is the huge tag match pitting Shawn Michaels and John Cena against Rated RKO. This turns out to be a great tag match with both teams getting a good amount of offense on one another. They both get decent time in the ring too with one another as right now, it sees Michaels being worked over by Edge and Orton. Edge late in the match tried to spear Michaels but Michaels sidestepped Edge and Edge stops himself before running into the pole. Edge turns around right into an Atomic Drop from Michaels. Orton tries running into the ring but Michaels hits him with some repeated rights. Cena comes in and runs over clotheslining Orton and himself over! Cena starts pummeling on Orton on the outside as itís now down to Michaels and Edge. Michaels starts to tune up the band as we see Christian make his way down the ramp. Christian jumps onto the ropes but Michaels greets him with Sweet Chin Music! Michaels turns around and Edge charges at him and connects with the Spear! OneÖTwoÖThre! Broken up by Cena! Cena stopped pummeling Orton long enough to save the match for his team. Edge starts pulling his hair out, enraged that he could have just lost the match there. He still canít believe it. Edge gets back onto his feet, looking for another Spear onto Michaels but as Michaels turns around, Edge charges right into the Sweet Chin Music. Michaels falls on top of him and gets the win! Cena and Michaels celebrate in the ring as Orton, Christian, and Edge are all down right now. Cena and Michaels both raise their hands to the crowd celebrating their win.

After the long match and the commercial break, we cut backstage to see Triple H talking with Mr. McMahon. Both men seem to be talking about SummerSlam whenever all of a sudden, Stone Cold Steve Austin comes barging in. McMahon looks ultra pissed about last week whenever Stone Cold stunnered McMahon in the ring. Austin asks how McMahon is feeling. At this time, Hunter walks out telling McMahon heíll see him later. McMahon says that he is tired of people that rebel against his power like you Steve. Steve says that McMahon just needs a drink and Austin hands him a cold beer. Austin even pops it open but McMahon throws it in the face of Austin. Austin wipes his face off, not enjoying what McMahon just did. Austin challenges McMahon to a match next week in that damn ring and asks the fans to give him a Hell Yeah if they want to see this match! The fans give a loud Hell Yeah! McMahon says that Austin wonít be getting a match with him next week but he will have a match next week! It will be the match that has been being built up for two months; Christian meets Stone Cold Steve Austin next week, one on one! Austin still smiles, and walks out!

We had another break after that promo as we come back to our fifth match tonight, a quick match between the Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin and Val Venis. Venis does get a good amount of offense in as this is not a normal squash match but does make both men look good in the ring tonight. Venis missed a key spot in the match as he went for the Money Shot but Benjamin mustered enough strength to roll out of the way. The fans booed Benjamin, as he was able to take the win after that hitting Venis with a huge kick to the back of the head. Shortly after, Benjamin grabbed Venis and hit the T-Bone Suplex taking the win. Benjamin goes to celebrate his win but he sees Hardy at the top of the ramp! Hardy motions the title will be his at SummerSlam as Benjamin waves him off, holding the title high.

We head backstage after this to see Rob Van Dam, the WWE Champion, and Sabu both talking backstage. RVD says that Sabu got a huge win last week but this week, heís in his own environment. Sabu points to the sky as RVD then says that no matter what happens in that ring, RVDís got your back man! Both men make their way down to ringside for the main event!

Our main event takes place with Sabu taking on Chris Jericho in the Extreme Rules Match. Both men do put on a good main event and it shows in the ring. Some decent spots take place as they both of course use the chair on early on. Sabu was able to hit the Triple Jump Moonsault with the chair but he didnít get the win as Palumbo broke that up. RVD and Palumbo both got back into it again but the ref broke them up at ringside. Sabu went to the outside grabbing a table from underneath before setting it up and rolling Jericho onto it in the ring. Sabu makes his way up to the top rope, looking to jump off with the Leg Drop through the table but Jericho rolled off as Sabu landed on the table hard! Jericho wastes no time running off the ropes hitting the Lionsault but he only gets a two. Jericho throws a chair hard at Sabuís head sending Sabu back reeling. The number one contender walks over to Sabu and tells Palumbo to throw in a trashcan and a chair. Palumbo does as told and Jericho places the table in the corner. Sabu took this time to grab the chair and hit Jericho with it. Jericho goes flying into the corner, and Sabu places him on the table. Sabu places a chair right in front of Jericho. Sabu runs looking for the Air Sabu but Jericho moves and Sabu goes flying through the table! Jericho takes a quick breather before throwing an arm over Sabu! The fans boo this cheap cover but Jericho gets the win anyways! Palumbo congratulates Jericho on the outside as RVD gets into the ring. Palumbo stands in RVDís way. Palumbo helps Jericho up while Jericho is staring up at RVD. RVD throws his hand out, asking for a handshake. Jericho looks down at it and refuses as the show ends with RVD holding his WWE title and Palumbo holding Jericho up with both men staring one another down.

-----------------------------

I didn't really think I was going to have much time so I decided to go ahead and recap Raw. There is also a possibility a Smackdown recap will go up for this week's Smackdown too. Then there will only be ONE week of shows after this.
