Good thinking to help your shows out during the World Cup. Your recaps are still entertaining, so I'm not worried.

SummerSlam will no doubt be one of the best PPVs I have ever read, so I can't wait. Also looking forward to the Great American Bash and Saturday Night's Main Event. Just to confirm, at GAB, the Angle/JBL match is the ME match right?

Monday Night Raw
Monday July 10, 2006
Peoria, Illinois

Raw kicks off with a huge edition of Carlito’s Cabana tonight. Carlito strolls down to the ring, not having announced a guest for tonight. Carlito rambles on a bit before talking about interfering in last week’s Jeff Hardy vs. Booker T match. Carlito says that Booker attacked him two weeks ago and that wasn’t cool, but what was cool was Carlito’s revenge. Carlito continues on until Booker walks down the ramp. Booker trash talks Carlito saying that he didn’t come to Raw to listen to some sucka try and get into his face and argue, Booker came to Raw so he could get him some more gold. Carlito then tells Booker that had he not lost to Lashley on Smackdown a few weeks back, he wouldn’t be looking for more gold. Booker takes this very angrily as he gets into the face of Carlito. With both men staring one another down, Matt Striker and Test, hit the ring and take down Carlito from behind. Striker was in a program with Carlito a few weeks back, which ended at Vengeance as Striker, Test, and Booker all are kicking and beating down on Carlito. Booker gets Striker and Test to hold up Carlito before hitting Carlito with a huge Houston Sidekick. However before all of this can continue, Jeff Hardy and the Intercontinental Champion come running down the ring for the save. Hardy, who was fighting Booker last week and was in a tag match two weeks ago with Carlito vs. Striker and Booker, help Carlito back to his feet. Benjamin, Hardy, and Carlito watch as Booker, Striker, and Test make their way up the ramp before Mr. McMahon comes on the titantron. He announces that tonight, there is going to be a six man tag match between all three of these men later tonight on Raw.

The WWE Champion, Rob Van Dam kicks the night off in one on one action against one half of the tag team champs, Joey Mercury. MNM won the tag match last week against RVD and John Cena but tonight, it’s going to be singles matches. Cena, Nitro, and Melina have all been banned from ringside for this match. However, this turns out to be a quick paced match with Mercury taking advantage early on after dropping Van Dam face first into the bottom turnbuckle. Mercury was able to capitalize with a series of kicks to the head. Van Dam however fought his way out and got back into the match as Mercury went for a dropkick but Van Dam stopped himself on the ropes. Quickly, Van Dam ran off the ropes and hit the Rolling Thunder! Shortly after, Van Dam makes his way to the top rope, flying halfway across the ring and hitting the Five Star Frog Splash on Mercury before rolling around the ring in pain, and he gets the win.

Backstage after the break, Mr. McMahon is in his office as in walks Christian. Christian is pissed and outraged after last week by being hit by Sweet Chin Music as he was trying to explain his actions as to what he did to Stone Cold. Mr. McMahon feels sorry for Christian and says that next week, something is going to be done about it. Mr. McMahon agrees with Christian, saying that next week, he has a huge announcement to make. Christian leaves the office; glad that he is a part of whatever the announcement will be next week. Shortly after, Triple H walks in to a chorus of boos. Triple H asks what Christian said and Mr. McMahon said that he “was on board” for whatever the announcement is next week. Triple H smiles as we head into the arena for the next match.

Christian is set for one on one action as he strolls to the ring, looking rather cocky tonight. As he is jumping around, getting pumped up, a familiar music hits! It’s Big Vis! Viscera comes walking down the ramp in his pajamas before sliding into the ring and the match is underway. Christian pounds at Viscera but Viscera pushes him off. Viscera runs into the corner at Christian but Christian moves as Vis hits the turnbuckles hard. Later on during the match, Viscera gets back into it by fighting off Christian with some hard clotheslines but Christian capitalizes by poking the ref in the eye and low blowing Viscera! Christian quickly grabs Viscera and hits the Unprettier, which has some huge momentum, as he brings the 500 pound man down to the mat with a thud. The ref is covering his eye but he gets down and counts the one, two, three. The fans are shocked that Christian won as he gets the referee to raise his hand in celebration with the fans booing the outcome knowing that Christian cheated to win.

Backstage, Shawn Michaels is standing in front of the interview area. Michaels says that because of Chris Jericho, his friend Ric Flair can’t be here tonight. But Michaels says that he took care of Christian last week, and if he gets a hold of Jericho again, there will be hell to pay. Michaels says that he’s been fighting a war against Jericho, Triple H, and now Christian for the past few months but he said he will be the one to end it. Michaels goes on to talk about something else but Jericho interrupts him and says that, wherever Ric Flair is, he hopes that he can here him. Jericho says that this war is really only just beginning. Whether Jericho or HBK wins the Battle Royal Saturday doesn’t matter because either way, you’ll be in the war somehow, someway. So Jericho says that the numbers are against Michaels now. Jericho has taken out one of Michaels’s friends and the numbers will continue to dwindle with Stone Cold haven’t been seen since Vengeance and Flair not being here tonight. Jericho says to Michaels “Watch your back, because you never know when one of us will strike”

After the break, we get the six man tag match in which Jeff Hardy, Carlito, and the Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin battles against Booker T, Matt Striker, and Test. It turns out to be a fun, mid-card tag match with lots of action in it, mainly with Booker working on Carlito. Booker makes the tag after a hard kick to the face, bringing in Test. Test gets Booker to hold Striker up before Test hits a hard Big Boot to the face of Carlito. Test gets the cover but Hardy breaks the cover keeping the match going. Test now tags in Striker as Striker comes in, kicking Carlito hard in the sternum. Striker clotheslines Carlito down before grabbing Carlito and sending him into the ropes. However, Carlito stops at Striker runs at him for another clothesline before ducking the clothesline, and as Striker turns around, he runs right into a neck breaker from Carlito! Carlito tags in Hardy who comes running into the ring, hitting Striker with a flying forearm before running over and knocking Booker and Test off the apron. Hardy grabs Striker as he turns back around and connects with a Twist of Fate before he heads to the top rope for the Swanton Bomb. But before he can jump, Benjamin tags in. Hardy doesn’t know though as he connects with the Swanton Bomb anyways but as Hardy is rolling around the ring, Benjamin quickly dives on Striker and gets the cover. One…Two…Three and the win. Hardy is down on the mat, looking on confused as Benjamin slides to the outside, grabbing his title holding it high at Hardy. Hardy has no clue what happened as the fans give a mixed reaction to the ending.

A Saturday Night’s Main Event promo airs, for this Saturday, 8/7 CT on NBC!

Backstage, the Highlanders are walking around before they bump into some of the Chicago Bulls! Backstage, Andres Nocioni, Ben Gordon, and Luol Deng are chatting it up with the divas and other superstars such as Val Venis. The Highlanders look at the Bulls players in confusion, but shake their hands before Robbie and Rory introduce themselves. Them being from Scotland, they don’t know a thing about basketball so they continue on before they bump back into Cade and Murdoch. Cade and Murdoch tell both Rory and Robbie that “they got lucky last week” but next week, there won’t be any luck. Then Cade and Murdoch say that next week, they get their rematch and they promise that the Highlanders won’t make it out of Raw next week. Cade says “Let’s go Murdoch” as Murdoch spits some dip right on the boots of Robbie. Robbie looks on in disgust.

We get our fourth match of the night, a divas tag match pitting Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson against Mickie James and Victoria. Mickie, Victoria, and Trish all have a Triple Threat match this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Torrie gets dominated early on in the match but she was able to make the tag into Trish who avoids a clothesline from Mickie with the Matrix! Trish then turns around and clotheslines Mickie over the ropes to the outside. Victoria runs at Trish but Trish sidesteps Victoria before kicking Victoria hard in the sternum. Trish steps back looking for a Chick Kick but as she does, Victoria tries picking up Trish for the Widow’s Peak! However Trish slides off, and then kicks Victoria hard with the Chick Kick. Torrie jumps off the apron taking down Mickie with a Lou Thesz Press before Trish gets the win for her team. Trish and Torrie celebrate, as Mickie, the Women’s Champion, and Victoria are both down. Trish grabs Mickie’s title and holds it high in the air signaling she will become champ Saturday night.

Backstage, Mr. McMahon applauds Christian on his win earlier tonight as Christian walks into the room. Mr. McMahon whispers to Christian some details about the announcement and Christian said that he likes them. Mr. McMahon then tells Christian that this plan will come into full fruition next week, and he promises that everybody will be shocked. Mr. McMahon lets out a evil smile before we head to a commercial break before the main event.

In the main event, John Cena goes one on one with Johnny Nitro, same rules for earlier tonight with RVD, Mercury, and Melina being banned from ringside. Nitro doesn’t get much offense going but he does get some, to not make him look weak. But Nitro really stood no chance from the get go against the number one contender and former WWE Champion. Cena fought off Nitro, hitting him with the Throwback. Cena followed it up with the Five Knuckle Shuffle, before grabbing Nitro and hitting him with the F-U! Cena gets the cover celebrating the win, but before he can celebrate completely, Mercury hits the ring. Mercury starts stomping down on Cena before helping Nitro up. Mercury signals for the Snapshot but before he can, Rob Van Dam runs down to the ring. Van Dam takes down Mercury with a hard Spinning Heel Kick and Nitro runs right into a DDT from Van Dam! Van Dam made the save for Cena, but no one knows why as Van Dam throws Nitro and Mercury right by each other. Van Dam now flies off the ropes, hitting both men with the Five Star Frog Splash. By this time, Cena has recovered. Cena gets back to his feet and helps up his opponent this Saturday with both men going to shake hands, but as for some payback last week, when Van Dam Frog Splashed Cena, Cena lifts Van Dam into the air hitting an F-U! Cena celebrates with the fans as this Saturday, is going to be a huge match between the two fan favorites.

Quick Results:

Rob Van Dam def. Joey Mercury
Christian def. Viscera
Jeff Hardy, Carlito, and Shelton Benjamin def. Booker T, Test, and Matt Striker
Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson def. Mickie James and Victoria
John Cena def. Johnny Nitro

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday July 14, 2006
Cedar Rapids, Iowa

The night starts off with JBL coming down to the ring, along with Mark Henry. JBL and Henry brag about their win last week over the United States Champion, Bobby Lashley, and the World-Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle! JBL says that tonight, Teddy Long has booked a 3 on 2 Handicap Match, that being Kurt Angle and Bobby Lashley against JBL, Mark Henry, and Mr. Kennedy. JBL says that just like last week, this week is going to bring success and victory back to the real Great American’s side. Angle comes down the ramp with a mic in hand, looking set to snap before Henry walks to the outside of the ring and blocks Angle from the ring. Angle looks ready to speak but instead he uses the mic to bash Henry in the head with before hitting Henry numerous times with some hard right hands. Angle slides into the ring and spears down JBL who isn’t in his wrestling gear but instead in a suit! JBL pulls himself to the outside before Angle could retaliate with more actions, as JBL looks angered, with his cowboy hat not on his head and Henry down on the outside. JBL helps Henry back to his feet as Angle stares down JBL from inside the ring.

The first match of the night is a quick match seeing MVP face off against Shannon Moore. Moore gets little offense in against MVP who debuted about a month ago. MVP fights off the attacks of Moore before kicking Moore hard in the back of the head with a Capoeira kick to the back of the head knocking down Moore. MVP now has the match in the back as he grabs Moore and ends up connecting with the Playmaker before throwing Moore over quickly and getting the one, two, three.

Backstage, Edge and Orton are being interviewed by Kristal about their one on one matches tomorrow night at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Orton and Edge say there is no reason they should both have to compete tomorrow night after the hard matches they have fought the past few weeks. Orton and Edge complain before in walks Mysterio and Benoit. Mysterio speaks some Mexican to Orton and Edge while Orton and Edge tease him, not being able to understand him. Orton says that the little jumping bean stands no chance tomorrow at Saturday Night’s Main Event while Edge says that Benoit is 20 years too late to be trying to beat the Rated R Superstar in the ring. Mysterio and Benoit step back, looking at Orton and Edge, not doing anything but promising there will be revenge in the ring tomorrow night. Orton and Edge laugh it off as we go to a commercial.

Up next, we get a huge match pitting Finlay against William Regal. Two of the hardest brawlers in the WWE today against one another, promises to deliver. Both men gets lot of time in the ring, and it turns out to be a very physical and intense brawl with some wrestling mixed into it. But Regal and Finlay won’t back down from each other in the ring and it shows towards the ending of the match as Regal hits Finlay repeatedly with hard left hands. The ref comes over and gets Regal off of Finlay before Regal gets back to his feet, going right back at Finlay. However, Finlay trips Regal face first into the mat before slapping Regal hard in the back of the head. Finlay grabs Regal, pulling the tough Englishman back to his feet, looking for the finish with the Celtic Cross but Regal slides off the shoulders and pushes Finlay into the corner. Regal heads over and unties the turnbuckle before the ref walks over and goes to put it back on. Regal grabs brass knucks out of his tights going to hit Finlay with them but Finlay ducks the shot, but Regal quickly cradles Finlay! One…Two…Three as the referee turned around quickly enough to count the pin fall.

The Saturday Night’s Main Event promo airs.

Backstage, Batista is standing by this week, once again by the interview area. Batista looks into the camera and yells out that The Undertaker is no match for the Animal. WrestleMania was a fluke and he promises that at the ‘Bash, it will be a whole lot different. Batista says he has never been intimidated by the Deadman, and he will never be. Batista says that unlike most people that have fought the Deadman, he has the balls to stand in the face of the Undertaker, and not even look intimidated a bit. Batista then reminds Undertaker that the match is in his hometown once again and says that he will win this one in his hometown. Batista walks away and as he does, the lights flicker on and off in the interview scene, but Batista has no clue!

Our third match of the night takes place as Psicosis goes one on one against Kid Kash. This turns out to be a fun little Cruiserweight match with interference from Jamie Noble and Super Crazy popping up every now and then, which causes both men to be ejected from ringside. However, Psicosis fights off Kash despite Super Crazy not being there to support him, as he hits Kash with a huge DDT knocking down Kash. Psicosis goes for a cover but only gets a two count. He tries for another DDT but Kid Kash pushes Psicosis into the ropes, which causes Psicosis to rebound off the ropes right into an elbow into the back from Kash! Kash now grabs Psicosis as he is bent over, holding his back before connecting with the Dead Level! Kash throws Psicosis over and gets the win tonight despite his new ally, Noble not being at ringside.

Backstage, Matt Hardy is talking to Ashley Massaro, Brian Kendrick, and Paul London before MVP comes walking into the scene. London, Kendrick, and Ashley walk away as MVP asks Hardy if he saw the match earlier. Hardy responds with a yes which MVP reminds Hardy of last week. MVP told Hardy last week that he promised he would show Hardy a thing or two in that ring and he did just that tonight against Moore. MVP says that this is what gets you millions and millions of dollars, and says that is why he is the biggest and hottest superstar in the WWE today. Hardy laughs at MVP’s comments which MVP replies to saying, “We’ll see” MVP walks off as Hardy stands there, amazed at the cockiness of MVP.

The fourth match of the night is a quick Cruiserweight match pitting one half of the tag champs, Paul London against Chavo Guerrero. Guerrero and London, former rivals from a year ago fighting over the Cruiserweight title rekindle their rivalry for one night. London has Kendrick and Ashley at ringside cheering him on. London fights back as Guerrero was working on the back of London, preparing him for the Gory Bomb. However, London hits Guerrero with a huge enziguiri, which turns the tide of the match in the favor of Kendrick. Down the ramp comes the FBI who are challenging London and Kendrick at the Great American Bash. They stop halfway, scouting their competition apparently. London is on the top rope as Guerrero gets back to his feet and he jumps off the ropes with a huge Mushroom Stomp driving Guerrero face first into the turnbuckles! London rolls up Guerrero with the huge move he just landed, and he gets the win! The FBI clap for London sarcastically as Kendrick helps London in the ring. The FBI make their way to the back, with London and Kendrick in the ring celebrating.

A Great American Bash video airs.

Backstage before the main event, Angle is walking around with his title before he bumps into Lashley. Angle says they have a tough task ahead of them tonight but he feels they can get it done again tonight. Lashley agrees as both men make their way into the arena with Michael Cole hyping the main event before we go to a break.

And our main event! Lashley and Kurt Angle are fighting JBL, Mark Henry, and Mr. Kennedy. JBL doesn’t get into the ring at all tonight, playing it safe, not wanting to hurt himself before the Great American Bash apparently. Lashley gets grounded in the ring, thanks mainly in part to Mr. Kennedy cheating with a low blow! Kennedy hit a DDT onto Lashley but only got a two count before tagging in the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry! Henry comes into the ring, knocking Angle off the apron, before running off the ropes and trying to hit Lashley with the World’s Strongest Splash! However, Lashley rolls away and Henry connects with the mat hard. Lashley now runs at Henry as he gets back to his feet and hits Henry with a huge spear! Mr. Kennedy comes running into the ring but Lashley sidesteps Kennedy and tosses him to the outside. JBL comes in for the first time tonight, trying for a Clothesline from Hell but Lashley ducks, scoops up JBL and throws him to the outside of the ring too! Angle and JBL brawl on the outside of the ring, as Lashley sizes up Henry before charging across the ring and hitting the Spear! Lashley gets the cover and the win. Angle fights off JBL and throws JBL into the crowd. Mr. Kennedy makes his way up the ramp as Angle and Lashley hold both of their titles high, playing to the fans as the show ends.

Quick Results:

MVP def. Shannon Moore
William Regal def. Finlay
Kid Kash def. Psicosis
Paul London def. Chavo Guerrero
3 on 2 Handicap Match: Kurt Angle and Bobby Lashley def. JBL, Mark Henry, and Mr. Kennedy

Sorry, about this being up so late. BTW, it's been a while since I posted shows so if some things seem confusing booking wise, feel free to ask me. Anyways, Saturday Night's Main Event is the next show and most likely, it will be recapped including the promos. I'm just trying to hurry along and get to SummerSlam really, so yeah most likely it will be. But it'll be detailed promos too, considering some stuff is set to go down. But anyways, just a few comments here and there is fine for both shows.

A Few Thoughts on Raw

First off, nice banner, man

Good way to open the show with Carlito's Cabana. His feud with Booker T is proving to be pretty unique and interesting. Nice to see Striker is still in the Intercontinental title picture, as is Jeff Hardy too it seems. With a six-man tag match tonight there's always the potential for a Six Man match at SummerSlam, but I don't see Test as a real contender in this thread yet. Most likely Booker T will take the strap off Shelton.

Nice match for RVD. When faces are feuding like RVD and Cena are here currently, they never really go at it like a heel/face would, as there is all that 'mutual respect' business. So having MNM kind of feuding with both men is a nice idea.

Okay, you have me hooked now. I have absolutely no idea what is going on with Christian/McMahon/Triple H here. I thought Christian was feuding with Stone Cold, then I thought he was feuding with Shawn Michaels. I guess he and HHH are joining forces for a major feud.

Christian beats Big Vis is a fun little squash match. One question though, why did Christian not get disqualified for poking the ref in the eye?

Okay, so as with Triple H and Christian, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho are in between feuds at the moment, so it seems as though they are all going to be feuding with one another. Most likely either HHH/Christian/Jericho/HBK will win the Battle Royal at SNME and go on to face either RVD or Cena at SummerSlam. Not sure who though...

Sounded like a good six-man tag match, with a quite surprising end. I had though that this match would set up a Triple Threat between Shelton/Carlito/Booker T, or even a Six-Pack Challenge match. However, it seems instead as though it has set up Booker/Carlito non-title feud and Shelton/Hardy for the IC title. Not sure where that leaves the great Matt Striker though.

Looks as though The Highlanders and CADE/Murdoch will be feuding for the #1 Contendership to MNM's World Tag Team titles.

Quick Women's match with Trish looking pretty damn dominant, usually meaning that she will lose tomorrow night.

Okay, I'm into this thing with Christian and Mr. McMahon now. I have no clue what's planned, but it should be good.

Very nice main event by the sounds of it. As you stated Nitro does not come off too weak, as a champion himself, but of course Cena wins. The beat down afterwards was expected, as was RVD's save. Cena gets some payback with an F-U to head into SNME looking stronger. Therefore, logic suggest that RVD will be retaining.

A Few Thoughts On SmackDown

Nice beginning with JBL and Mark Henry confronting Kurt Angle. It almost seems as though Henry is acting as a kind of enforcer for JBL at the moment, so it would be interesting to see whether or not this alliance continues up to and after SNME and GAB. I expect that, following JBL's triumph last week, that Lashley and Angle will win tonight.

Quick squash match for MVP tonight done well to keep up the push for the newcomer.

Nice little segment between Edge/Orton and Benoit/Mysterio, furthering their little feud going into SNME. Most likely there will be a win for both sides at SNME.

A very big match between Finlay and Regal next, who have been feuding for a while now. I expect that Burchill will get his turn eventually. Interesting to see Regal go over, as I was expecting a No Contest. I don't care who gets the bigger push out of Regal, Finlay and Burchill, as they are all amazing.

Nice little interview for Batista hyping his match with Undetaker at GAB. 'Taker is only appearing sporadically at the moment, but is really getting into Batista's head. I expected a gimmick match, but that might come at SummerSlam now, as this is a huge and excellent feud.

Nice little hype for the Cruiserweight feud with Kid Kash defeating Psicosis, even though, as you said, Noble was not at ringside.

I'm quite interested by this burgeoning MVP/Hardy feud that has some great potential to get both men into the US scene again.

London beats Guerrero in a competitive match it seemes, although the most interesting thing was the FBIs appearance at ringside. There tag feud is Cruiserweight tag feud, which is an interesting approach.

Sounded like a huge main event with Henry and Kennedy doing all of the work with Lashley pinning Henry to head into SNME the stronger. It looks as though Henry might actually beat Angle at SNME withs some help from JBL, but I wouldn't be too sure.

Overall, nice recapped, KOP. Good progress into a no doubt excellent SNME and GAB. Everything is shaping up nicely.

WWE Championship

Rob Van Dam (c) vs. John Cena

It's interesting to say the least. RVD is champion, but he's been the champ since WM 22. I think it may be Cena's time as I thought it should of been a few weeks ago, so my money's on Cena.

Great American Challenge

Kurt Angle
vs. Mark Henry

I've got a hunch it'll be Angle over Mark Henry...

#1 Contender's Battle Royal
Winner Gets Title Shot at SummerSlam
Participants: Booker T, Carlito, Charlie Haas, Chris Jericho, Christian, Chuck Palumbo, Gregory Helms, Jeff Hardy, Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro, Kane, Matt Striker, Ric Flair, Rob Conway, Robbie McAllister, Rory McAllister, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin, Test, and Triple H

Makes perfect sense. First time ever, HHH/Cena. They've been feuding through RVD and they can focus on each other then since it seems to have begun to seem that way, with Cena costing him the title, etc. Will fit well if it's true.

Women's Championship
Triple Threat Match

Mickie James (c) vs. Victoria vs. Trish Stratus

Truthfully, I've got no clue. This is a pure guess, thinking Trish might win it back, it'll be interesting tho.

Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton

Orton>Rey, Orton will go over probably.

Edge vs. Chris Benoit

In return for Orton winning, Benoit will win. Maybe right, maybe wrong, we'll see.

The SD & Raw look good, sorry for not really commenting on your shows, I'm pretty busy lately and just trying to get my picks out. SNME looks good, I'll be reading for sure and reviewing if I get the chance.

WWE.com News

The superstar that is expected to be leaving the WWE soon gave Vince his papers today saying he will be leaving after SummerSlam. It came as a shock to Vince but Vince knew that he was wanting to get away soon from the company. Who this man is, well more details on that when it becomes available.

Rob Conway has been granted his release today, the WWE wishes Rob the best in all of his future endeavors.

Some new tag teams are expected to start coming in after SummerSlam, one on Raw for sure, and possibly a new one on Smackdown. There is talk of bringing a superstar over to team with a wrestler already on Smackdown.

With SummerSlam nearing us soon, the WWE is pretty much guaranteeing a huge show. Many matches are being looked at right now and one will become official this Saturday at Saturday Night's Main Event. The winner of the Battle Royal will face RVD for the WWE title. Other matches have been agreed upon and expect the build to begin (or continue) on the shows after SNME.

-------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, I know it's not much news but take it for what it's worth. Well, the thread is back now seeing as the Cup is nearing it's end and currently, I've been working on recapping SNME.

After I post SNME, I'll post the 7/17 Raw and the 7/21 SD! before posting the recapped Great American Bash, which I still think is going to be a great show. I might also write out a match or two for the GAB.

We'll have to see how it goes.

Saturday Night’s Main Event
Saturday July 15, 2006
Chicago, Illinois

The show opens with the normal interviews backstage hyping matches with all of the big stars, before a video package plays. The video package highlights the RVD/Cena feud, the Edge and Orton vs. Mysterio and Benoit, and JBL/Henry vs. Angle history. The video ends with both of the champions, RVD and Angle holding their titles high as we head into the arena, with the pyro going off, before both commentating teams introduce us and we are ready to kick the night off!

The 20 Man Battle Royal to determine the number one contender is up first tonight for Raw. It turns out to be an all for one war with bodies flying everywhere as normal. The order of eliminations comes down to….

1. Robbie McAllister
2. Hardcore Holly
3. Rory McAllister
4. Matt Striker
5. Carlito
6. Test
7. Joey Mercury
8. Charlie Haas
9. Booker T
10. Chuck Palumbo
11. Eugene
12. Johnny Nitro

It comes down to eight men, Shelton Benjamin, Jeff Hardy, Christian, Chris Jericho, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and Kane. All of the other seven men team up to eliminate Kane first off, despite Kane trying to fight off all the other men. Benjamin distracts Hardy, but Hardy ducks a clothesline attempt from Benjamin before back body dropping Benjamin over the ropes to the outside of the ring. As Hardy turns around, he walks right into Triple H who quickly throws Hardy over the ropes and to the floor. Triple H has no clue but Shawn Michaels is tuning up the band behind him! As soon as Triple H turns around, Michaels hits Triple H with a huge Sweet Chin Music sending Triple H to the outside of the ring! It’s down to four men now in Michaels, Jericho, Flair, and Christian. Michaels goes after Christian as Flair goes after Jericho! Flair quickly chops Jericho hard in the corner but Jericho eleveates Flair into the air, dropping Flair onto the turnbuckles causing Flair’s gash to open up as blood starts to pour. Jericho takes advantage as he ends up dumping Flair to the outside. Jericho and Christian decide to double team on Michaels as both men Irish Whip Michaels into the ropes but Michael’s stops on the ropes. Christian charges at Michaels but Michael’s lefts his legs up knocking Christian down. Michaels now leaps at Jericho with a huge flying forearm knocking Jericho down. Michaels gets back to his feet as he grabs Jericho trying to dump Jericho to the outside of the ring but Jericho holds on. Christian quickly grabs Michaels from behind, trying for the Unprettier but Michaels counters the move and pushes Christian into the ropes as Christian flies to the outside of the ring. Michaels turns right back around into a Superkick from Jericho as Michaels goes flying over the ropes! Jericho wins!

After the commercial, we head backstage to see Theodore Long walking around before bumping into Mr. McMahon. Long asks McMahon how he is doing. Long starts to talk to McMahon but in walks Triple H. Long leaves as Triple H looks pissed. Mr. McMahon asks what is wrong with Triple H which Triple H simply responds with “What in the hell do you think is wrong?” “I almost got my throat kicked off by Shawn Michaels and I didn’t win that damn battle royal.” McMahon looks at a pissed Hunter before whispering something into his ear which gives Hunter a little relief as we head backstage once again.

In an interview backstage, we see Edge standing by with Kristal. Kristal asks Edge about his match with Chris Benoit tonight. Edge says it is a damn travesty that he has to wrestle tonight. Edge says he had no time preparing for the match, since he just found out a few days ago and this is just further unfair treatment towards him and Orton. Edge looks into the camera and says that he is heading back to the top, and that this is just a roadblock. He says that nobody can or will stop the era of the Rated R Superstar!

In the second match of the night, Edge goes one on one against Chris Benoit. It turns out to be another physical contest with both men doing their best to try and get an advantage before the Great American Bash in eight days. Edge and Benoit both go at it throughout the ring with Edge taking a huge advantage as he drove Benoit’s back into the steel pole. Edge then went on the attack from there on, as he worked on the back of Benoit. Edge applied a Surfboard submission move, which helped to wear down Benoit even more. As Edge got back to his feet, he went into the corner, looking for the Spear to finish off Benoit. Edge charged at Benoit but Benoit quickly jumped right over Edge as Edge prevented himself from hitting the turnbuckles. Benoit hits Edge with a hard right hand knocking Edge down momentarily as Benoit heads out onto the apron before looking to head towards the top rope but as Benoit starts heading towards the top rope, Edge charges right at Benoit, spearing Benoit through the ropes as Edge falls out on the mat on the outside of the ring. Edge and Benoit are not moving right now with the huge impact they just took, as the ref calls to the back as the match has been stopped and is a No Contest.

After the break, Mr. Kennedy makes his way down to the ring tonight. Mr. Kennedy looks around the arena before introducing himself, yelling out Mr. Kennedy…. Kennedy! Kennedy then goes on to talk about Bobby Lashley and how he is finally going to rid Lashley of the United States title inside of the Steel Cage at the Great American Bash. Kennedy goes on talking about how he beat Lashley at Judgment Day and that at the Bash; it will be another victory for the rising superstar of Smackdown. Kennedy continues rambling on before Lashley makes his way down the ramp with his title in hand. Lashley throws the title over his shoulder and grabs a mic. Lashley says that he worked hard to get to where he is now and that he isn’t going to let Kennedy take it away from him. Mr. Kennedy asks Lashley, how it feels to be a loser. Lashley doesn’t say anything as Kennedy looks right at Lashley again before asking Lashley, how it feels to know that you are going to lose your title at the Bash. Kennedy goes to ask one more question but quickly, Lashley charges across the ring and spears Kennedy to the mat. Both men are brawling all around the ring now and we see Kennedy get on top of Lashley to get some right hands before quickly sliding off Lashley and running to the back. The fans boo Kennedy as he lets out an arrogant smile before we head to another commercial.

Backstage, Jeff Hardy is seen chatting it up with his brother Matt to a nice pop. This however is ruined as MVP walks up to Matt. Jeff walks off, leaving Matt and MVP alone. MVP then looks at Hardy and says that last night on Smackdown, Hardy did put on a great show but that MVP is the “real show” MVP says that “they don’t call me MVP for nothing” I came to Smackdown and the WWE to make an impact and to make the big bucks, and I’m doing just that already. Hardy laughs at MVP before MVP mentions to Hardy that, we’ll just find out who the better superstar is at the Great American Bash, won’t we?

We head back into the arena for our third match of the night, for the Women’s Championship! It’s a huge Triple Threat pitting Victoria, Trish Stratus, and the Women’s Champion, Mickie James! It turns out to be a great, aggressive women’s wrestling match with neither woman giving it up and doing their best to win that title. Mickie catches Trish with a huge kick to the back of the head, before trying for a win, but only gets a two count. Mickie quickly grabs Trish and throws Trish into the ropes, before charging at Trish and taking her down with the Lou Thesz Press and some hard right hand punches. Victoria walks over and grabs Trish before throwing Trish into the corner. Victoria tries for a clothesline in the corner but Trish moves and Victoria collides with the turnbuckles. Victoria and Mickie, who are both working together tonight, both grab Trish quickly and lift her into the air with a Double Suplex bringing Trish down to the mat. Mickie tells Victoria to back off, and let her win the match now as Mickie walks over and grabs Trish before trying for the Mickie DDT! However, Trish counters and catches Mickie with a Chick Kick! Victoria quickly grabs Trish as Trish turns around, trying for a Chick Kick to Victoria. Victoria throws Trish onto her shoulders and hits the Widow’s Peak bringing Trish crashing down to the mat. Victoria grabs Trish for the cover. One…Two…Three and we have a new champion! Victoria grabs her new title as she makes her way up the ramp. Mickie slowly sits up to see Victoria up the ramp, holding the title. Mickie yells out at Victoria as Victoria shrugs at Mickie and holds the title high to boos from the crowd.

Backstage after the commercial, we see Finlay walking around. Finlay bumps into Paul Burchill. Finlay and Burchill both look at each other as Finlay lets out a rather arrogant smile letting Burchill know he feels about him. Finlay goes to say something but William Regal walks in! All three men look like they are about to have a go at it, especially Finlay and Regal after their aggressive match last night on Smackdown. Finlay says it was a fluke but Regal responds by saying that it wasn’t. Finlay and Regal both get into each other’s faces as Burchill looks on, staying back. Smackdown GM Teddy Long walks up and stops all three men from arguing and announces that they can settle this once and for all at the Great American Bash! Finlay vs. William Regal vs. Paul Burchill!

Our fourth match of the night, turns out to be Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton! Both men put on a good show, and with their partners having wrestled early in the night and taken a huge bump, they are looking to get a win to settle the score. Orton works on Mysterio, seeing as Mysterio is the smaller man as Orton caught Mysterio with a huge clothesline early on, flipping Mysterio inside out. Orton wasted no time either as Mysterio tried for a flying clothesline off the ropes but Orton tripped Mysterio as Mysterio fell on the ropes! Orton quickly walked over and grabbed Mysterio as Mysterio hung from the middle rope! Orton connects with a huge DDT before covering. Mysterio grabs the ropes somehow keeping the match going. Orton starts to taunt Mysterio as Mysterio gets back to his feet a minute later. Orton tries for the RKO onto Mysterio but Mysterio ducks Orton and quickly dropkicks Orton into the ropes! The fans are going wild as Mysterio runs off the ropes, looking for the 619! But as soon as he does, Orton moves and Mysterio misses. Orton quickly tries for another RKO as Mysterio turns around but Mysterio leaps into the air and catches Orton with a Hurricanrana and keeps the cradle! One…Two…Three!!! Mysterio slides to the outside, pumping his fist in the air as he has beat Randy Orton tonight. Orton slaps the mat furiously knowing he was just robbed of a match as the fans are going wild for Mysterio right now.

After the break, we cut to see Batista backstage in his locker room. Batista is packing his stuff for tonight as he is getting ready to leave. Batista throws his stuff in his bag and rolls his bag out the door before heading to the parking lot Batista parked his car in. Batista grabs the keys and unlocks the car as he sees the lights start to flicker in the parking lot. Batista pops the trunk and throws his bag in as he goes to open the door, smoke starts coming out of the car. Batista has no clue what is going on, as he steps back and the lights go off completely in the parking lot! Suddenly, a “lightning bolt” strikes Batista’s car! More smoke starts to come out of the car as Batista opens the trunk once again to grab his bag and Batista runs to the curb. Batista stops a cab and jumps in the cab, before getting out of town! So much for Batista, not being afraid of the Undertaker tonight as Undertaker continues to get into the mind of Batista.

A video package for the 19th annual SummerSlam airs. It shows recent clips of huge stars such as Undertaker, Batista, Edge, Randy Orton, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle and many others before it stops. WWE presents the 19th annual SummerSlam live on Sunday August 20 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California!

After the break, we get our Smackdown main event which is Kurt Angle going one on one against Mark Henry in the Great American Challenge match. JBL won a match who was timed a month ago causing Angle to have to wrestle tonight at SNME. JBL got to pick Angle’s opponent, which he then went on to choose Henry. Angle and Henry both lock up in the ring, and it turns out to be a pretty decent match, with Angle trying to work on Henry but Henry was able to catch Angle with a huge splash in the corner. Henry then went on the offense from there on as he quickly threw Angle half way across the ring with a Press Slam. Halfway through the match, JBL makes his way down to the ring joining commentary and watching Angle in the ring right now, scouting for the Great American Bash apparently. Henry runs off the ropes, trying for the World’s Strongest Splash but Angle, being as smart as he is, quickly rolled away as Henry lands on the mat hard. JBL senses Henry is in trouble now as JBL heads to the ring but gets met with a huge right hand from Angle before JBL could even get into the ring. Angle turns around as Henry is charging at Angle but Angle moves and Henry hits JBL sending JBL flying off the apron. Henry turns around right into an Angle Slam from Angle and Angle quickly covers Henry! One…Two…Three!!! Angle is handed his World-Heavyweight title before he holds the title high and looks on as Henry is down in the ring and JBL is down on the outside! The fans cheer for Angle in his great effort he showed tonight, with Angle making his way out of the arena now.

After the break before the main event, Maria catches up with John Cena quickly. Maria asks Cena how he is going to feel if he becomes WWE Champion. Cena says that tonight, a new era starts, the era of the Chain Gang will continue, but the second reign of the “champ” will begin. Cena says that RVD can be his “friend” or whatever he wants to call him but that won’t stop him from taking the title away from Van Dam tonight. Cena looks at Maria and says that tonight; the title goes home with its home, the Doctor of Thuganomics! Word Life!

In the main event, with the WWE title on the line, RVD and Cena go at it and put on a good match with both men showing they really want the title. RVD caught Cena with a plancha to the outside halfway through the match as RVD throws Cena back into the ring. RVD quickly delivers a flipping Leg Drop over the ropes but only gets a two count. RVD quickly grabs Cena and kicks Cena in the head, before throwing Cena into the ropes. Cena charges right back at RVD but RVD ducks and Cena stops before running back into the ropes. Cena quickly catches Van Dam with a clothesline! Cena now grabs Van Dam and hits Van Dam with a Throwback! Cena only gets a two count and the fans are behind both men right now. Cena pumps his shoes up, before running off the ropes and hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle! Cena bends down and picks Van Dam up for the FU before Van Dam slides off the shoulders with a cradle. Cena reverses the cradle and kicks out but as he does, Van Dam sweeps Cena off his legs! Van Dam runs off the ropes quickly before hitting the Rolling Thunder onto Cena! Van Dam quickly leaps onto the top rope looking for the Five Star Frog Splash and he flies across the ring hitting Cena with the finisher. RVD has some trouble as he rolls around the ring but quickly hops onto Cena and gets the cover and retains the gold! RVD helps Cena back to his feet as RVD and Cena shake hands with one another but from behind, Chris Jericho attacks Cena! Jericho, the number one contender goes after RVD taking down RVD with a dropkick before running off the ropes and hitting a Lionsault onto Van Dam. Jericho throws Cena to the outside of the ring before applying the Walls of Jericho onto Van Dam! Jericho is wrenching hard at Van Dam, yelling Tap Out as Jericho lets go and stands over Van Dam, motioning the title will be his come SummerSlam despite the boos from the crowd.
