Re: WWE Unleash the Fury
As they say, better late than never...
WWE: SmackDown! - June 23, 2006 - Review
Yes, the opening promo was decent. Edge and Orton were pretty much in character, but I just didn't like the promo when it started because both of them were looking bland. But then the promo got it's real pace and it turned out decent. Expected that Teddy would come out and announce this tag team match, and ya know what, this tag team match looks great in my opinion. Edge, Orton, Benoit, and Mysterio are all good wrestlers and they'll surely provide a kick-ass match.
Whoa, so this was basically the entire plan of Kash? Kash and Noble teaming up looks great and their feud with Mexicools looks to have potential, and I think a match at GAB between these four guys would also kick-ass.
Okay, so this match was booked because London and Kendrick didn't have anything to do tonight? I guess so. My another guess is that Noble and Kash will be coming for Kendrick and London's tag team titles in some time, maybe after they're done with Mexicools.
To be honest with you, Batista didn't look in character in this promo. It's maybe because Batista is not one of the best promo cutter in the world. However, it looks good that you are giving some hype to 'Tista and 'Taker's feud.
It was a very short promo here. But, the entire concept of this promo looked good to me. I'm thinking that a triple threat match between them will be announced for the Great American Bash.
Now this match here seemed good to me. It was really very expected that we'd see JBL picking up the victory over Hardcore Holly here because he needs momentum going into GAB to face Angle. I'm guessing that JBL will be victorious in this Great American Challenge. Well, let's find out.
Good interview here with the newest SmackDown! superstar, MVP. Exepected again that MVP will win this match because he was just against a local jobber and the biggest fact is that it was his debut match on SmackDown!.
Very short segment here with the General Manager, Teddy Long and Mr. Kennedy. A match next week to settle the number one contender of the United States Championship would be okay. My guess is that Kennedy will win the match because you've hyped him throughout the weekly SmackDown! shows.
You know, I have never liked Booker T and Lashley facing each other or having a feud. They're very stale in ring and with microphone. Hardy and Kennedy brawling each other during the match-up seemed good and expected at the same time. Also, giving title to Lashley was a breathe of fresh air.
I know how hard is to right a promo with Kurt Angle. But here, I think that you captured his character nicely. Good interview here with the Champ, Kurt Angle.
Haha, JBL's distractions costs Angle to beat JBL's time. It was good because it added some fuel to JBL and Angle's feud. Angle wins the match, and that's nice because he also needs some momentum. Overall, a good show and it'll be interesting to see what happens next week.
