I suppose UKLiq were the obvious team who were going to take the tag match, and I expect them to pick up the tag titles soon, as they have had the kind of build behind them which has to lead to that

Kennedy still wont explain why he attacked Lashley, but I’m sure they will wrestle at Judgement Day.

Lashley gets the win in the handicap match, but Kennedy wanted nothing to do with him, and this feud is getting some good booking by making Kennedy look very heelish. Both guys come out of this looking good

Another Sylvain promo? You must be trying hard to push him I guess, so lets see how it works

Sylvain does get the win over Tatanka, who isn’t going anywhere in this thread at the moment. Sylvain will probably pick up a few wins over the next few weeks I feel

Wasn’t overly keen on the Booker promo, and it seemed like you threw a promo in just to keep him on the show. I see him dropping the belt at J Day, as he has been in the title arena for a while now, and it could do with a little freshening up

Batista cuts a short heel promo on Rey, before demolishing Shannon Moore, who does what he gets paid for and loses. Rey comes to attack Batista after the match, but it doesn’t work, and Batista dominates the man. Batista as a heel is effective so far in this thread, and he will be back with the title in a few months I feel

Triple Threat next week should be good, but I’m split as to whether Christian gets his rematch, or Benoit gets his shot at taking the title from Edge. Either way, I cant see past Edge retaining

Time for JBL to cut another promo on why he is so great, and another good promo it is from him. Don’t know where he is going in terms of J Day yet, but he could force his way into the upper card somehow, with either his title shot, or a match against someone like Hardy, just to give him a win

JBL is the difference maker in the main event, and he costs Christian the match, so I can see those two wrestling at the ppv if Christian doesn’t win next week, leaving Orton without a match it seems. Good way of setting this one up, as I don’t know who will win the match next week

Smackdown review

Nice match to kickoff the show with a UKliq v London/Kendrick match should be a very good one to read and i expect new Tag Team Champions to come from the match.

Decent promo here, with Kennedy not explaining why he attacked Lashley but is put in a handicap match with OJ against Lashley and he is not happy about it.

Good booking here with Lashley pinning OJ, keeping both Lashley and Kennedy strong in their feud.

Another Sylvan promo, seeming to get a good push in this thread.

Sylvan gets the win which seems the right thing to do, seeing as how you are pushing Sylvan.

Was a fairly decent promo here by Booker T, was in character but as FD said it just seemed as a way to get him on the show.

Meh typical Batista squash match here destroying Moore sending a message to Mysterio. Mysterio comes out and tries to get revenge on Batista, only for Batista to destroy him. This feud has been built well so far and when it comes to their match i expect Mysterio to get the win seeing how Batista has gotten all the momentum in this feud so far.

Great match announced for next week, will be interesting to see who wins that one.

Typical JBL promo here telling everyone how great he is. Wonder what he is going to do at JD since he has nothing planned as of yet.

Good Main event here and it looks like JBL and Christian are gonna feud and Benoit gets his match with Edge winning the Triple Threat next week. But i could always be wrong.

Overall rating: 84/100

WWE.com News

Joey Styles Requests Leave

This upcoming Raw will be the last show for Joey Styles on television but don't thing a comeback is not possible. "I want to thank everyone for these times I've had since November, it's been a wild but yet fun ride" Styles said during an interview. Styles came on at Taboo Tuesday 2005 on November 1 and has been on Raw ever since. However Styles said that he needs sometime off but hopes to be back one day. The WWE wants to thank Joey Styles for using his announcing skills on Raw.

Debuts to Continue Coming in

With people already debuting and returning, it makes you wonder how many people the WWE plan to bring in. Though there has been releases to make roster spots, it isn't expected to be a great amount of people brought in or released for that matter. Charlie Haas recently made his return to the Raw brand and Tatanka returned to the Smackdown brand two weeks ago, who else can we expect to come back? On a note about releases, a few people are expected to be cut with Open Season coming up soon and some will come after the PPV's.

Thought I would post those few notes. About Smackdown, main event scene might be confusing with all of those men but it will make sense next week and a little more before the PPV. I think you'll all enjoy how it's going to be built up, I have. Now onto perhaps the most controversial thing in reviews, Sylvan. Personally, I think he's good. It's not a major push, but I think you'll enjoy what I've got coming up soon for him.

Now onto Backlash, haven't been able to do much work recently and only one match has been finished. Should have had way much more than that done but with school starting a month ago, Homecoming, and much more it's been hard to keep up with doing BTB. SO, Backlash might be a little later than you would like but it won't be no 2-3 month wait. Raw will most likely be posted around Thursday-Friday. Then the final Smackdown, Backlash Preview and Backlash up around mid-October at the latest. Sound good?

Sounds fine KOPV, no doubt it will be worth the 2-3 week wait.

Good info, Sylvain atleast isn't getting a big push, so I'll actually expect something decent after your comments.

Friday Night Smackdown -- Friday April 21, 2006 -- Review

Good match to kick off the show. Yeah, I was predicting UKliq to win, and they did, I guess. Seems like you are pushing this team. It will be interesting to see them in the up-coming weeks, they have to build-up there feud with the tag team champions.

Mr. Kennedy’s interview was really off for me. Ken Kennedy wasn’t looking in character and he was really not looking himself in that interview. Anyway, match’s coming next and him tagging with Orlando Jordan would be interesting.

Alright, I am predicting that Bobby Lashley will get the win somehow. Um, I must say this; Kennedy is a clever man. Him not beeing in the match so much and then leaving Orlando Jordan seemed good and was good to build the heat even more towards him. Lashley gets the win and gets back his momentum from last week.

Sylvain; I’ve always liked him. I don’t know that you’ll push him or not but I hope so. Anyway, the promo was nothing special. It was same like you did for the last week. Let’s see what this guy can do in this thread though. Sylvain gets the win, which was truly expected. Glad to see him winning again. Let’s see whats store for him next week.

Booker T’s interview was a BIT off for me. It could’ve done much better though. Length was also the problem. It was looking short. Well, I can say that this guy is focused.

Batista does a short promo, which wasn’t looking good at all, really. Batista as a heel is good though. Squash match, can’t say much about it. Mysterio comes out and destroys Batista with a 619. He’s showing that he can beat anyone. Oh no! Batista out of nowhere counters the West Coast Pop and drops Rey down with a Sit-Out Powerbomb! Hell yeah! Batista somehow again gets the best because of his power, hmm.

This promo looked avarage. Edge was looking right in character and as goes for Theodore R. Long. Good number one contendership match made next week. I am predicting the ‘Rabbid Wolverine’ Chris Benoit to win that match. Edge vs. Benoit would be great.

JBL’s promo was great. Best so far. Liked everything which JBL said. He wants to main-event Judgment Day? Why not use his Money In The Bank. Well, I am predicting that something shocking is gonna happen in the next pay-per-view.

Main-Event was just allright. I wanted to see something special. All I saw was Christian and Benoit dominating the heels during the starting and the middle part of the match. But JBL interferes and heels get the advantage and take the win. That was the only part where heels got the best of faces.

Bottomline; An average show here. You still have to build-up the Judgment Day even more and more. I can see a strong push for Chris Benoit from now on, cause I am predicting him to win this triple threat match, which is for the number one contendership of Edge’s title. All the promos could’ve done better because they seemed really off for me [Except JBL’s promo – It was a gold.] I can give this show a 7.5/10.

WWE Monday Night Raw Preview for Monday April 24, 2006

It's the last stop before Backlash and the Raw Superstars will be rolling into South Charleston, West Virginia this Monday. And before their huge match this Sunday at Backlash, both the WWE Champion Rob Van Dam and his challenger, Kurt Angle will be in action. Both men will be in one on one matches but their opponents have not been named yet. Angle and RVD will not know their opponents until the match begins. With Angle and RVD facing off in six days, the tension will most likely continue to heat up as the WWE Championship will be on the line at Backlash. Can both RVD and Angle get wins before rolling into the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston?

Also announced for this monumental show has been a 2 on 4 Handicap Match as the duo of Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin will face not only their opponents at Backlash, but the McMahon's. The McMahon's who are going to be at ringside as Special Referee and Special Enforcer have ordered this match tonight as a punishment for Michaels and Austin. With there being huge odds stacked against the team of Austin and Michaels, what can we expect in South Charleston? Will the McMahon's have anything else planned for the duo of HBK and Steve Austin.

After John Cena's actions last week, Chris Jericho has demanded that tonight Cena comes to the ring and gives an explanation. Cena destroyed Jericho's Jeri-Tron5000 and plenty of equipment on the Highlight Reel after Cena was provoked by Jericho. Jericho has told Cena to "do the right thing" and apologize like a man or he will recieve a beating he will never, ever forget. Jericho has told Cena he has to comment on their Steel Cage match this week too and that Cena needs to be out in the ring. Will Cena answer Jericho's call? Will Cena do the "right thing"?

Also announced for this blockbuster show has been a Six Man Tag Team match which pits the Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, and Charlie Haas all teaming together. Their opponents happen to be their respective opponents for Backlash in Gregory Helms, Chris Masters, and Matt Striker. With all six of these talented men in this match, we can certainly expect a classic to say the least. Will anybody be able to gain a pinfall over there opponent at Backlash and gain some momentum. Tune into Raw for this huge matchup with major implications.

And finally, in Women's action, Mickie James has requested for and will recieve a match against Trish's friend, Ashley Massaro this week. Trish and Ashley both team together this Sunday to face Mickie James in a Handicap Match for the Women's Championship, a first time match! Mickie looks to not only get into the head of Trish but try to wear down her tag partner and friend in Ashley Massaro. Will Mickie be able to accomplish this or could we see a shock victory?

Monday Night Raw Recap-Monday April 24, 2006

We open the show up with the big six man tag team matchup as the Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito and Charlie Haas all take on Gregory Helms, Chris Masters, and Matt Striker! Helms is in the ring with Haas and takes down Haas with a armbar. Helms charges at Haas but Haas ducks and makes a tag to Benjamin. Helms quickly knocks down Benjamin with an enziguri as Carlito and Haas work on Helms. Masters comes from behind on Carlito and locks on the Masterlock. Test grabs Matt Striker's pointing stick while Striker distracts the referee. Test quickly hits Haas with the stick while Test helps Helms up. Helms then lowblows Haas and grabs the tights, the ref comes over while Helms grabs the ropes too! Masters keps the Masterlock locked on after the heels take the win. Test and Striker double team on Haas while Helms works on Benjamin.

Backstage, Trish and Ashley discuss their upcoming match as Ashley takes on Mickie James. Ashley wants a piece of Mickie James after last embarrasing loss in the tag match. Ashley promises to Trish that she will get the job done tonight and Trish thanks Ashley for stepping up to the plate.

Mickie James and Ashley Massaro put on a decent Women's matchup but nothing more than the ordinary. Trish is taunted by Mickie numerous times and Trish tries to come in but gets restrained every time. Finally Mickie takes advantage of Ashley while she's distracted going for the Mick DDT and Mickie covers but Trish somehow helps Ashley and rolls her over on Mickie for a quick three count! The referee didn't see anything as Mickie James looks completely pissed off before this Sunday.

Backstage, Kurt Angle is interviewed before his match later on tonight. Angle tells everyone "It doesn't matter who his opponent is, either way he's going to break their ankle" Angle seems determined to get the WWE Championship back tonight and will not stop at anything before this Sunday at Backlash! Angle taunts Van Dam saying the winner of the championship will be Kurt....Freakin....Angle and Angle even does the thumb taunts!

Following the commercial, Chris Jericho comes down to the ring wanting an explanation and an apology for the damaged property. Jericho demands that Cena gets his ass out here now. Jericho waits for a few moments but Cena doesn't answer. Finally, Cena comes down and tells Jericho that he's not apologizing for anything. Cena said Jericho had this coming for him and this Sunday, Jericho will have a beating he will never, ever forget. Jericho doesn't take kind to the stolen taunt and calls out the Spirit Squad. All five members of the Spirit Squad come down and beat on Cena. The Spirit Squad who have helped Jericho out in the past do their trademark toss into the air move before Kenny grabs a chair from the outside. Mikey holds the chair on the face of Cena while Kenny leaps off with a Leg Drop onto the Steel Chair! Cena is laid out in the ring with the Squad and Jericho laughing.

Another promo video for Backlash plays, this time highlighting the main feuds in the WWE Championship, Tag Team Match, and the Steel Cage Match. Each match gets a few seconds to highlight it while towards the end, clips of the other wrestlers competing this Sunday are shown.

The third match of the night takes place as Snitsky takes on Jamal before the Tag Title Match this week. Nothing much happens other than Snitsky beating down Jamal. However Rosey on the outside double clotheslines Eugene and Goldust, their opponents for Sunday. Jamal then catches Snitsky with a mat-shaking Samoan Drop and gets the three count.

We come back from the break to see Stone Cold driving up in his truck. He meets "HBK" Shawn Michaels as Michaels and Austin prepare strategy for later on tonight. HBK promises that the McMahon's, HHH, and Kane have all brought out a side that they haven't seen from HBK in a while.

Rob Van Dam comes down to the ring for his matchup, carrying the WWE Championship. RVD awaits his opponent and it turns out to be none other than the "French Phenom" Rene Dupree. Both men put on a good match, bringing back some memories from their brief singles feud in the summer of 2004. RVD stops the offense of Dupree and takes him down with a Spinning Heel Kick followed by the Rolling Thunder. RVD quickly leaps onto the turnbuckles and delivers the patented Five Star Frog Splash for the routine one...two...three. No sign of Kurt Angle which compeletely shocks the WWE Champion, RVD!

After the commercial, Mr. McMahon and his son, Shane McMahon come down to the ring in their wrestling gear. Mr. McMahon however hasn't came out to wrestle just yet. He said he saw earlier that HBK said "we have never seen that side of HBK in awhile" Vince seems to encourage HBK to continue doing so. Vince says it doesn't matter that HBK seems to be bringing out another side, the odds are still against them come Sunday and they will always be against Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels. Mr. McMahon then tells us that this will be the execution of both HBK and Stone Cold because no one can stop the McMahon's ever! Mr. McMahon reminds HBK and Stone Cold that they are the Special Referee and Special Enforcers Sunday. Mr. McMahon then tells us that the 2 on 4 Handicap Match will be after the break!

In the 2 on 4 Handicap Match, it turns out to be a No Contest after Triple H bashes Stone Cold with the Sledgehammer. Vince orders Shane to grab the ring bell before it can be rang. Shane then hands the ring bell to Vince as Vince beats down Shawn Michaels with the ringbell. Kane grabs a table from the outside of the ring and sets it up in the corner. Kane then heads into the corner and easily whiplashes Stone Cold through the table as if he was nothing. The beating continues as the blood also continues from the heads of Stone Cold and Michaels. Triple H then beats down Michaels with the Sledgehammer as both men are down. Triple H, Kane, and the McMahon's then all raise their hands in the ring as the fans boo the hell out of them for the havoc they have caused. Michaels and Austin may not stand a chance this Sunday at Backlash.

Right before the main event, a video plays hyping the upcoming Open Season which means any superstar can jump from Raw to Smackdown. Vince's voice tells us anyone can...and will be traded if necessary and that this is a one time experience for the fans and for the WWE!

And finally, the main event! Kurt Angle comes down to humongous "You Suck" chants before his main event match tonight. Angle awaits his opponent and it turns out to be..."The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Angle and Flair put on a clinic, perhaps a MOTY contender. Angle takes down the veteran Flair with the series of German Suplexes. Angle starts taunting the worn down Flair with the Angle Slam as he jumps on the mat. However out of nowhere, comes RVD! Van Dam leaps onto the turnbuckle, then jumps off with his patented Flying Kick off the ropes. Flair takes the advantage and rolls up Angle quickly and gets the three count. Angle is livid in the ring as Flair has just defeated Angle six days before Backlash. RVD then heads up the ramp taunting Angle doing the R...V...D taunt! Angle then motions the title is his coming Sunday and there's not a damn thing he can do about it.

Sorry if you wanted a full show. Been busy and with Homecoming activities ending this week, I'll be able to hopefully book more regularly now. Anyways, might even recap Smackdown as Backlash is one week away in BTB time. I'll post preview after Smackdown and no predictions until then, so some comments would be nice for Raw too.

Just a quick review here since it was only a recap show. Seemed like a good Raw, doing it's job of building the matches for No Way Out. Great main event showing that Flair can still do it, and Flair gets the suprise victory thanks to interference by RVD, and with RVD getting the momentum going into Backlash you would think the opposition Kurt Angle will win at Backlash, but i don't see RVD losing his title this early. The buildup for the Tag Team Match at Backlash was good aswell with the McMahons teaming up with Kane and HHH, and they beat down HBK and Stone Cold. Would of liked to of seen the Jericho/Cena promo, Jericho gets the momentum going into Backlash beating down Cena with the SS. The Backlash card looks very strong and will leave a review when up.

Some comments for RAW recap here KOPV...

Nice way to start the show with the big 6 man tag, and the aftermath beatdowns, leaving the heels on top. Angle/RVD & Cena/Y2J both built up well here, both matches are gonna be huge at Backlash. 3MW look too solid for Goldust & Eugene, Jamal dismantles Snitsky with relevant ease. Austin/HBK teaming up again, liking this feud, as the McMahons/HHH/Kane are against them, I love faction wars. RVD gets a nice win over Dupree, while Austin & HBK are hammered by Kane/HHH/McMahons, nasty beating, this could mean they win however at Backlash. Main event was good too, RVD helping Flair to a nice win over Angle who is pretty frustrated, RVD continues to get the better of Kurt.
