Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

ECW

Honestly, so far, this new incarnation of ECW hasnt filled me with much hope. Okay, it's only two weeks old, but imo, it could've done with a really hot angle to kick start the show, but it's failed to do that. Right now, I get the feeling this is a third brand of the WWE, and not a stand alone entity. Maybe that's what you're aiming for, but I dont think it is. Not only that, but it's bordering on becoming as irrelevant as the WWE ECW if it continues on this route. If this ECW is to succeed, it needs an edge (and I dont mean the Rated R Superstar variety).

Anyway, surprising win for Stevie over Sabu to advance in the tournament. Nice to see Richards gain a win, even if it is down to the interference of a certain Monty Brown (assuming The Pounce = the giveaway).

Meh, Monty Brown > Cor Von. Name issues aside, I've always liked the Alpha Male, so he's a good addition to any roster in the WWE. His entrance to ECW was forgettable though imo, taking out Sabu, because he does whatever he wants. Not exactly cutting edge (two non related Edge puns in three paragraphs.)

Liking 'Dashing' Danny Doring. And he could certainly be a fixture in this thread with the right type of build. Doring giving Snow head = Priceless btw .

'Bayou Beast'. Another name I'm liking. Theodore Long as a manager > Theodore Long as a referee > Theodore Long as a GM. Good move putting him back as a manager, and it'll be nice to see what you do with Mack.

Kennedy (who looks like he'll get a real chance to get spotlight in this brand) and RVD get the predictable win, but you called it that way anyway, so no surprises. From here, it looks nailed on that Kennedy meets RVD in the final, but imo, it looks too obvious right now, so I think one of them will lose out before that.

Credit where it's due, Dreamer vs Sandman in the main event is definately more of an homage to old school ECW than a third WWE brand. Like that both men got to let loose, and ultimately the right guy went over, as Dreamer rocks .

---

Friday Night Smackdown

HBK coming to the ring to kick things off is certainly the right way to kick off proceedings given his big switch on Monday. Michaels & Edge get their first face off out of the way, and we're cooking up a great world title feud to roll into WM.

Havent followed the last week or so of SD, so I've missed what's been going on with Punk. Whether this is just kicking off a feud with Regal or the continuation doesnt matter really, as giving Punk a veteran like Regal should be a good platform for him to settle in as a WWE guy, and get him a couple of high profile-ish wins against a grizzled veteran.

I like the fact you havent buried the guys who have been buried IRL. Dykstra of course being a prime example of that. I dont see him winning the U.S Title any time soon, with Matt Hardy just getting his run started, but it's a solid little feud to get Hardys reign rolling.

Huge win for the youngster, and surely that = a title shot for Dykstra. His pairing with Ashley is cool too, as she's just as irritating .

MVP vs Cena @ No Way Out is certainly the one match (bar the main event), that stands out for me on that card. HUGE opportunity for MVP, and y'know, I think with help from Finlay, he might just pull off the upset.

WM spoiler - Angle to face Triple H. Should be awesome. Seeds have been planted there, and now we'll just sit back and watch the story unfold. It's been a while since they met, so it's fresh, which is what WM always needs.

Meh, Deuce & Domino just dont do it for me. If they are sticking as champions, I hope they play no part at WM. Very uninspiring tag team that lacks any real excitement. On the other hand, it's nice to see the CW title feud continue to develop.

Surprised to see Punk vs Regal making the card for No Way Out. Certainly would appear to show your intent to give Punk a push, and quickly. MITB spot at WM loom methinks.

Looks to me like Rey Mysterio is lost in the shuffle on Smackdown. No real feud for him would lead me to thinking he's just keeping low until MITB time where he could play a massive role. He should beat Burchill next week though, you'd think so anyway.

Excellent build up for the mammoth tag match at NWO, with the BOD getting the upper hand this evening. Nicely done too, with a slight touch on the lights and appearing schtick.

No shocks that the #1 Contender for WM beats Henry. Aftermath puts HBK over even more, outwitting the champion and his lackey with SCM into the chair, and face accordingly. I was expecting some sort of mention to the tag match at NWO at some point on the show, but it never came .

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

ECW Feedback

Hmm, not alot of people start their shows with a match. Some even have commentary first before the match you didn't, I'm not criticizing though as its better to not jump onto the bandwagon. Richards against Sabu, Sabu was my favorite to win but I'm pleased you give Stevie the chance with a upset victory. Doubt he will win it all though.

Cor Von on ECW is awesome as I really liked him and I wish he never left, I like how he did the pounce on Sabu last match. I have a feeling your going to make him look strong by just destroying everybody? I hope he gets a good push though as he deserves it

First off laughing my arse off at “Doring just gave head to Snow”. I don't actually know who Doring is So I can't comment much on the match. He gets a decent victory over Snow which is good.

Theodore Long on ECW? I don't understand does he run ECW and SmackDown or something? Sorry if I seem an idiot lol. Anyways I don't know this Rodney Mack dude, must be before my time is he a oldie if you know what I mean???

I'm loving this thing with Kennedy, him hating being on ECW is quite enjoyable to read. I like how he doesn't wanna wrestle but is then made by Heyman. I can see Kennedy and Rob Van Dam getting the win and maybe the two start brawling?

I was right! Rob Van Dam and Kennedy easily defeat FBI, imo. Kennedy then attacks Rob Van Dam with the Mic-Check which furthers their 'feud' and gives the tournament more credibility. I think either Rob Van Dam or Kennedy will win the tournament and then win the ECW title. Most likely Rob.

Two ECW legends against one another, Nice! I'm pleased Dreamer got the win as he is more over imo. Like how they showed respect for each other being friends, and how Dreamer helped Sandman back up.

Overall, A very good ECW imo. Good booking decisions and you have a good thing going with Kennedy and also the tournament is shaping up to be Awesome. Its only the early going for ECW but I can see its going to be awesome when it gets more people on the roster.

SmackDown! Feedback

Nice promo to start things off, I like how Shawn Michaels is facing Edge at WrestleMania. It was obvious Edge would cut him off or something but it was still good how he went over everybody he has beaten at WrestleMania. Would of liked to have seen Shawn Michaels vs. Edge but I guess you have to save it for the Royal Rumble. Shawn Michaels vs. Mark Henry is decent, I guess.

William Regal and Taylor are awesome imo. Good to see CM Punk get the win but you made it so that Regal and Taylor still looked strong which is a good booking decision. If Punk had finished it with the Go 2 Sleep Regal would have looked weak.

I like the Hardy and Dykstra feud you have going, is Ashley a heel diva since she is with Dykstra? I hope to god you don't put the United States Title onto Dykstra. Please don't do that, continue the feud by all means but keep the title on Hardy

An upset win on Hardy by Dykstra, I still hope you don't give Dykstra the strap. To answer my own question before I think Ashley is a heel diva as you had her run into the ring and congratulate Dykstra.

You answered the criticism I see, as you had MVP say he doesn't like doing dirty work for people. I like how Finlay reassured him by saying he was doing it for himself and if he beat Cena he would guarantee himself into stardom.

Kurt repeated himself abit then imo. Decent promo, I think that Angle might appear at WrestleMania and interfere with Hunter, but thats just my opinion. He said he wants to appear at WrestleMania so thats why I think that.

Deuce and Domino as tag team champions? I like London and Kendrick. I wish they could be champions forever Oh well, I guess if your wanting to push Deuce and Domino this is the best way. I see they won them cheating like they usually do which is good, as it would have been less effective if you made them win cleanly.

I wonder who the new Number One Contender will be? I don't think it will be Chavo as it would be too obvious. Dykstra versus Hardy for the title Please don't give the title to Dykstra, CM Punk versus Regal is an okay announcement

Squash match for the heel Batista? I like how he calls out Kane but Undertaker comes out too, Next week on Friday Night SmackDown, Batista and someone versus Kane and the Undertaker? I can read minds

Shawn Michaels got the win over Mark Henry which is no surprise. Orton attacking him was abit of a surprise but they do have a tag match at No Way Out. Edge attacking Michaels before Orton was no surprise however, still I enjoyed reading

Overall, A great SmackDown. The booking decisions were awesome, you had the right people win under the right circumstances Keep up the good work, Raw should be good as will No Way Out.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

WWE.com News and Notes

Looking at the Raw side of things first the show was said to have gone over well. There really was no doubt all along that the main event was going to be Shawn Michaels vs. Edge. It's a relative new feud and creative is very happy going into WrestleMania now with this match on the table.

It seems as if Carlito is going to be slowly turning heel once again. He started his current face run before WrestleMania last year but creative knows he works better as a heel. So really it doesn't seem as if it's going to be too much longer before we see the old Carlito back since hints have been dropped on Raw recently.

There had been talks of having Finlay interrupt the Fatal 4 Way this week but once WWE settled on Kurt intefering they felt that it was big enough. Apparently they didn't want to overshadow any appearance, etc. of Angle on Raw. Pretty much overcrowd the interference in the match is what was not wanted to be done.

Raw Roulette is making it's return to televesion next week for the first time in about three years and four months. There have only been two before so hopefully this one can deliver well in the ratings.

Charlie Haas's push is seeming to go over real well backstage. It all was a part of the grand scheme that started last August where he went on the streak of losing matches to finding a tag partner to now. Creative is really happy with how he's been built up and they feel he could be a big mid-carder by the end of the year.

Overall on the ECW scheme of things now ECW is starting to slowly kick off with a bang. Nothing really "major" has been done yet but there is a possibility of something soon happening in the near future. WWE wants to mix it up by using a bit of it's Extreme tradition but at the same time allowing stars to appear on ECW to "hone their craft" and then move back or to the main rosters.

Marcus Cor Von formerly known as Monty Brown made his television debut on ECW this week. Cor Von signed with WWE last September after he was released from TNA. Cor Von is liked backstage so they felt the best way to introduce him of course would be to shock the fans and have him Pounce the hell out of Sabu.

"Dashing" Danny Doring is a project of ECW writer Dave Lagana. Lagana likes Doring and the new character that he has and he feels that Doring has that "look" to do at least something decent on ECW. The character is kinda a resemblance to the Sylvan character "bar the Ambassador of Quebec" with the shades, long coat, and etc. Sylvan hasn't been seen on TV in months so Lagana felt fine by using this gimmick for Doring.

Rodney Mack will be making his return to the WWE on the ECW TV tapings on the 27th of February. Mack is coming back underneath a new nickname "The Bayou Beast" Apparently they are going to keep with his old character and all but add a new twist to it making him seem as if he is a dominant beast from the South.

Moving onto Smackdown now. Edge and HBK both kicked off their program rather well this week. Creative was happy with how the promo came off on TV and feels that they have many more good ones ahead of them.

Kenny Dykstra has been rewarded with a small push over the past few weeks. Dykstra is seen to have a good attitude and willing to listen backstage to advice from the veterans. Dykstra is only 20 years old so he is currently the youngest star on the roster and knows he doesn't want to make a bad rubbing on anybody backstage.

Kurt Angle is set to have a few weeks off on Smackdown. It seems as if Triple H vs. Kurt Angle will take place at WrestleMania as of now but it's unsure as of whether Angle will be set to go for WrestleMania. If so he most likely won't wrestle at all (and if he does it'll be small matches) WWE knows that they need one of their biggest stars at WrestleMania but if something were to happen WWE has a back up plan right now in effect if Angle can't wrestle.

Deuce and Domino coming in and winning the WWE Tag Team titles this early was unexpected but had to happen due to Brian Kendrick injuring his leg this past weekend at a house show. Kendrick worked the tapings with his leg taped but he'll be out until after WrestleMania.

Rey Mysterio indeed is "floating around right now" without a program. Currently he most likely won't be wrestling at No Way Out in a week but anything is possible.

Chris Jericho was not able to attend the Smackdown/ECW TV tapings Tuesday night so he wasn't able to come down after the HBK vs. Henry match of course.

And finally concerning No Way Out. No Way Out looks to be having eight matches but there is a possibility of one more being added. A few of the matches are set to run short so a few might be thrown out there. Last year's had nine and was a Smackdown only show so it seems as if WWE might throw out one more match.

HEAT Tapings

Test def. Val Venis
Torrie Wilson def. Candice
Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke def. The Highlanders to retain the World Tag Team titles

------------

I might edit in some news and notes if I forgot some later. Anyways as you can tell I've posted a few of the past few week's shows in recap. Well that will continue for this week so I can get to No Way Out. I have or never did have any desire to write No Way Out in full as it's really not THAT big of a Pay Per View but still...it'll be recapped in detail. Other than that look for a recapped Raw tomorrow night most likely.

Sorry it's late. Illness imo

ECW Feedback

Quality bout to kick the night off with. Richards and Sabu are two of the Originals with a bit more credibility. I really did have Sabu down as a dead certainty to advance mind you, so having him lose was a ... nice change, especially if it means an unsung legend like Stevie Richards getting a little bit of a push. POOOOOUUUNNNNNCCCCEEEE~!!! I will be doing that weekly from now on, just to let you know, because The Alpha Male is in the house. A feud with Sabu will be a great way to debut Cor Von in ECW. I hope Elijah Burke is on his way too. I don't really have a problem with the name change either. Brown or Cor Von?? They're both good.

Wow, you're certainly high on this Doring fellow aren't you?? I wish I actually knew who he was, but I'm afraid I don't. You mentioned in some notes that he's like Sylvan, so I'll go with that in my head. HEAD~!!! Now that's what I call old school. You've got a dirty mind, sonny jim

The Bayou Beast, WTF You have to love the originality of it. Is that all your own invention, becauseif it is it's very nice. Plus, Teddy Long getting his groove back on as a heel manager makes me happy. I honestly can't remember all that much about Mack though. I'd be careful not to turn ECW into land of the heels though.

Kennedy is awesome in ECW already. You won me over with it last time, as he just gets to dominate the entire show really. Love the idea of him teaming with RVD against the FBI; kind of reminds me of what happened earlier this year with Kennedy and HBK, with KK hitting the Mic Check after the match. If these two don't meet for the ECW Championship at WrestleMania, I'll be very surprised.

Like Wolfy said, it's definately a respectful move to have these two guys Main Event the show, really showing the stakes. I too would have chosen Dreamer to advance, simply because I think he has more left in the tank than Sandman. Great way to close the show. So now it's Richards/Kennedy and RVD/Dreamer??

SmackDown! Feedback

With Edge and HBK together in a feud at least you have a guranteed great promo each and every week eh?? Solid way to kick off the show with their first real one-on-one encounter{Orton and Jericho absent}, which cranks up the tension. I think the similarities should be built on. The choice of Mark Henry for Michaels' opponent fits Edge's character perfectly, stacking the odds against The Showstopper. I expect HBK to get back to his giant killing ways though and put Henry down.

Wow, this CM Punk/Bluebloods feud has actually been given quite a lot of attention hasn't it?? I honestly didn't think it was anything other than a squash feud to build Punk up more. Hopefully this leads to the Punksters first PPV appearance.

I agree with Wolfy that it is good that you a pushing guys like Kenny who disappeared in reality, but I think the manner in which he went over Hardy damaged Matt's credibility as champion somewhat. Hardy has only held it for a short while, and I think he should have gained more momentum before losing. A title decider at No Way Out now looks a certainty. I still have no idea why Ashley is there though

There we go, that makes much more sense now with MVP just wanting to break through the glass ceiling with a win over Cena at No Way Out. Makes more sense than simply having Porter simply being someone's lackey.

I'm really enjoying this set up for the Hunter/Angle feud at WrestleMania, especially with the emphasis on Kurt's injury. With him being out for a few weeks, I can see Hunter really bringing some intensity to the feud, but I do think it's a nice way to build it.

NEW TAG CHAMPS~!!! Ignore Wolfy, Deuce and Domino are a great heel team no doubt. They're no Cade and Murdoch admittedly, but they're still entertaining as hell if given time to shine. Jamie Noble has to be interfering only because he's bored without any challengers.

Chavo Guerrero plz. JBL has to make it happen. Punk getting a PPV spot so early in his career has me hopeful of a MITB spot for him. Hardy should deal with Dykstra quite comfortably though.

Rey Mysterio is now officially the most directionless man in the WWE I thought the Edge/Burchill appearance seemed a bit random at first, but if it serves to set up a small, short Burchill/Rey Rey feud for the next couple of weeks it could work.

Nothing really special about the build up for the BOD/Umaga and 'Tista. I don't think Big Dave has done much of anything but squash jobbers like Shannon Moore, so I hope his match at No Way Out straightens him out.

No shocks at all that Michaels managed to run right through Mark Henry and head ninto 'Mania like a house of fire. I think perhaps Burchill should have done more than just get complete flattened, and if Orton was there ... where was Jericho?? Luckily, I read your notes, so I understand why he wasn't. A bit of tension between the face team perahaps? The heels need dominance anyway.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Monday Night Raw
Monday February 12, 2007
Portland, Oregon

Raw kicks off tonight with Chris Jericho making his way down the ramp. Jericho says that he has some important things to talk about here tonight but first off he needs to apologize to one man and one man only…Shawn Michaels! Jericho says he knows that HBK and himself have a troubled history but now he’s past that. Jericho says that he’s regained the trust of the Jerichoholics back (minor pop) and that now he’s ready to move on past those days. Jericho says that it was his fault he wasn’t at Smackdown and for that he wants to apologize. Jericho calls out HBK but instead out comes Chuck Palumbo. Palumbo hasn’t been seen since he hit Jericho backstage. Palumbo walks down challenging the character of his former friend. Palumbo says that he knew Jericho was always like this…a little bitch! Palumbo says that when he was backing Jericho up he knew that he (Palumbo) would always have to do the dirty work. Chuck asks Jericho what is he going to do now that he doesn’t have him in his corner at WrestleMania? Chuck keeps on provoking Jericho for a bit before the music of Randy Orton sounds across the arena. Orton walks down the ramp challenging the character of HBK as well. Orton reminds the fans that Jericho “let his friend HBK” get laid out in the ring twice in one week! Orton says he never did that to Edge and that he never will! Orton reminds Jericho about their big tag match this Sunday and how Jericho probably will “back out” once again. Orton teases Jericho for a bit longer before out comes the Raw GM Jonathan Coachman. Coach says that he’s tired of hearing it between these two. Coach books a big tag match tonight with Randy Orton teaming with Chuck Palumbo to take on Chris Jericho in a Handicap Match! And if HBK interferes Coach has talked to Smackdown GM JBL and HBK will be STRIPPED of his title shot at WrestleMania 23!

Raw kicks off tonight-in big fashion with the Number One Contender’s Tag Team Battle Royal. The match features the teams of Cade and Murdoch, The Highlanders, MNM, Cryme Tyme, Val Venis and Viscera, and Matt Striker and Test! All six teams go at it for a while and the first team to be gone from the match happens to be Val and Big Vis after Test greets Val with a Big Boot to the head sending Venis over the ropes! The refs have to get Viscera to get out of the ring since only one team member has to be eliminated. Shortly after the Highlanders find themselves gone after Rory is dumped out of the ring thanks to a big clothesline from big Shad! A surprise elimination takes place next as Mercury and Nitro hit the Snapshot on Cade and dumped Cade out of the ring bringing it down to three teams in MNM, Cryme Tyme, and Striker and Test! Shortly after the elimination of Cade and Murdoch, Nitro gets dumped out surprisingly thanks to the power of Test! This leaves the match down to the two teams in which we see Cryme Tyme isolate Test in the corner with double-teaming before JTG and Shad team up to hit the G-9! Cryme Tyme both grab Striker throwing him out of the ring and earning a title shot next week here on Raw! JTG and Shad celebrate their wins as we cut backstage to see Burke and Benjamin watching on TV not looking too much impressed.

Shortly after this we head backstage to see Ric Flair being interviewed. Todd asks Ric about his two big losses the past week and Ric says that yes he has had a few rough weeks. But Ric says that this week will be even better because he’s going to make that no good son of a gun…Charlie Haas tap out in the middle of the ring. Flair says that he’s been betrayed many times but he feels this one might have hurt the most. Flair says that for someone to turn on the WOOO! Limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, wheelin’ and dealin’, kiss stealin’ son of a gun! WOOO! Is crazy! And now Flair will show Haas this Sunday just how much of a “submission specialist he really is” WOOOOOO!!!

After the break our second match of the night takes place as Umaga goes one on one with the Big Red Machine Kane! Kane is making a special appearance from Smackdown tonight and these two men put on a decent match in the ring. Nothing really special comes out of it and of course it ends in controversy whenever Batista runs down to the ring and spears the living hell out of Kane! Kane gets double teamed on by Batista and Umaga until the lights go out! Batista and Umaga ditch the ring now as Estrada helps lead Umaga back up the ramp! Batista and Umaga turn around to see flames burst up after a big strike of lightning hits the stage! Batista and Umaga look at the flames behind them as Kane sits up in the ring and Undertaker is behind him! The Brothers of Destruction are both kneeling right now doing their signature pose as we head to a commercial.

After the break we come back to see Triple H being interviewed via satellite. It is presumed he is not here tonight but of course all of the fans know how these segments work! Anyways JR and King question Triple H about Kurt Angle screwing him over last week and Hunter says that Angle will get what is coming to him in due time. See Triple H doesn’t play these games and he is already pissed that he is not main eventing WrestleMania AGAIN this year! Hunter says he’s not going to put up with this crap anymore and he has one person to blame for it…Kurt Angle! Hunter says that he’s sat back for too long without saying or doing something but he feels now is the time! Hunter says that next week here on Raw…he’s got a surprise for Kurt Angle! JR and King speculate on what the surprise is but nobody knows as we head to a commercial.

Back in the ring the third match of the night takes place as its Charlie Haas against…Ric Flair’s son Reid Flair! Reid gets a decent ovation since he’s training right now in OVW but Haas works over Reid for a bit. Reid does get a bit of action in as he rolled Haas up briefly but only got a two count! The fans were excited as this young man could have almost up set Haas. But shortly after that Haas pretty much snaps just throwing Reid around everywhere with the three German Suplexes! Haas quickly locks in the Haas of Pain forcing Reid to tap out but he won’t let go! Haas is yelling like a madman until Ric Flair comes running down the ramp! Haas of course ditches and then slides into the crowd as we see Ric attend to his son Reid in the ring.

Backstage after the match Maria interviews Carlito. Maria asks Carlito about his match this Sunday at No Way Out to which Carlito responds with that he will be the one walking out with the Intercontinental title. Carlito reminds the fans that he is a former Intercontinental champion and the coolest of them all! Carlito says that the fans have seen a recent attitude change in Carlito but Carlito is back to himself now! Carlito closes it off with spitting the apple at Maria as she wipes it off her face as we head to a commercial break.

The fourth match of the night pits Carlito taking on Eugene in a quick squash match. Carlito runs right over Eugene before finishing him off with the Back Cracker! Carlito gets the mic once again talking trash about Jeff Hardy before we see Hardy hit the ring! Hardy rolls into the ring before kicking Carlito in the sternum and dropping him with the Twist of Fate! Hardy makes his way to the top rope climbing up for the Swanton but Carlito rolls out of the ring! Hardy stares down Carlito from the top rope as Carlito backs his way up the ramp.

Backstage John Cena is shown standing in front of the camera. Cena talks about how Finlay has been a thorn in his side for the past few weeks or so. Cena says that this Sunday he puts a halt to that whenever he runs right through Finlay’s representative MVP. Cena says that MVP is a wannabe baller and nothing more. Cena laughs at how he states he makes the most money and just laughs at a few more general things about MVP. Cena says that all of that aside this Sunday he puts his feelings and thoughts aside and goes out there to do one thing…whip some ass!

After the break the WrestleMania 23 video airs and shortly after we see an announcement stating that the first Class of 2007 Hall of Fame member will be announced next week here on Raw!

We get a brief divas match to hype up the Battle Royal this Sunday that sees Mickie James take on Melina in a rematch from two weeks ago. Mickie got a pinfall win last week over Melina but this week Melina returns the favor after she drops Mickie with the Inverted Split Leg Bulldog onto Mickie. Melina gets the win and celebrates stating that she’ll be the next Women’s champion! Melina teases all of the fans until we see all of the divas run down the ramp. Maria tackles Melina as we see all 10 divas from Raw, Smackdown, and ECW that will be in the match going at it right now. The Women’s Champion Victoria walks onto the ramp watching her competition beat one another up before Sunday.

Backstage we see Randy Orton and Chuck Palumbo talking. Orton tells Palumbo that he knows he has a troubled history with Jericho but that tonight he needs to leave all things aside for Randy to take care of. Orton asks Palumbo if he understands and Palumbo nods his head! Orton walks off as Palumbo looks at him as if he was crazy!

The main event takes place as the WWE champion Randy Orton teams with Chuck Palumbo to take on Chris Jericho in a Handicap Match. King and JR constantly hype that if HBK interferes then he will lose his title match at WrestleMania thanks to Smackdown GM JBL! We notice halfway through the match that the World-Heavyweight Champion Edge makes his way down to the ring. Palumbo and Orton are dominating throughout the match right now before Palumbo was able to distract the referee! Edge ran into the ring charging at Jericho who was getting back onto his feet and Edge connected with a Spear but it was to his friend Randy Orton! Edge looks at what he did before he rolls out of the ring grabbing his title and panicking. Palumbo turns around right into the Codebreaker from Jericho! Jericho throws Palumbo over covering and getting the win! Jericho rolls out of the ring as we hear the music of HBK ring throughout the crowd. HBK meets Jericho at the top of the ramp as they have a small stare down but eventually turn towards the ring and watch on as Edge helps Orton back to his feet as Raw comes to an end.

Quick Results:

Cryme Tyme won a #1 Contender’s Battle Royal
Kane def. Umaga via DQ
Charlie Haas def. Reid Flair via submission
Carlito def. Eugene
Melina def. Mickie James
Chris Jericho def. Randy Orton and Chuck Palumbo in a Handicap Match

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

Heh, looks like I dropped in at just the right moment...

Monday Night Raw

Good to see the #1 Contender open up proceedings ... yet if I were reading for the first time, I wouldnt know it . Not a mention of Jericho going to the Raw main event of Mania in the opening moments of the promo, but an apology for HBK instead. Out comes Palumbo (pleased to see he hasnt been forgotten), and reignites his mini feud with Jericho. Then, out comes the champ, giving No Way Out a little hype, before we get our main event announcement - handicap match main event. Like the added stipulation on lack of HBK involvement, although handicap matches generally suck ass .

Never been too keen on Cryme Tyme, but they appear to be the only viable face team on the show to take on Gold Standard right now. If that's the case, you need a serious overhaul on the face side of the Raw tag division imo.

I'd doubt Charlie Haas turning on Flair would be his most bitter backstab in his career ... BUT- it is one of those things we always hear in this type of situation to try and add fuel to the fire. Could certainly be a crossroads for Haas at No Way Out imo. A win could send him skyrocketing, but a loss would likely see him stuck in the mid card forever.

More Undertaker tricks in the build up for the monster tag match. I see a heel win at No Way Out to give Umaga some momentum for his natural WM match with Taker, before doing the job.

Triple H gets to talk some more about Kurt Angle via satellite. This feud right now is poised to be the big one imo for WM. Just needs something massive to send it over the edge imo, and that could be whatever next weeks surprise is. Hope it's huge .

Reid Flair. TBH, I wasnt expecting to see this, with Haas taking on Rics son. Again, it makes things a little more personal now for the PPV. See my comments from the Flair interview earlier for my other thoughts here.

YAY!!! Carlito spits apples again . Good to see, as he works much better as a heel. The match with Hardy at No Way Out could be a real cracker.

Cena vs MVP could be a really interesting match on the No Way Out card. A win for MVP in any way would be enormous for him ... and I think he'll get it thanks to Finlay in order to really get the fireworks going in the Cena - Finlay feud.

Surely Mickie James is winning the Battle Royal?? The only real contender for Victoria imo, although if you wanted to follow WWE, you'd be going for this years Playboy cover girl. I dont see that happening here, so Mickie is winning ... hopefully.

Huge win for Jericho against the odds to boost his credibility. Orton though could do with a win now imo, as he lost to HBK last week, and now in a 2 on 1 environment lost to Jericho, even that it was due to a mix up, it's still a loss that would hurt. Clean win over Y2J at No Way Out would be the remedy imo.

Not sure what the deal is with Michaels and Jericho. Could there be some sort of double cross between them at No Way Out?? It doesnt seem likely, but something just doesnt seem right about their current relationship.

Post Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

ECW

Sabu versus Stevie Richards is a solid opener and I thought Sabu would pick up the definite win. It is good to see Richards win this match even though he didn’t do anything to pick up the win. Glad you brought Cor Von, I really liked this guy when he was in TNA and his brief stint in WWE, I hope he comes back some day. I also love the pounce … PERIOD!

I am not a big fan of Doring and I honestly can’t see him going anywhere. I read your notes about how he is similar to Sylvan and if that is true there is no way he would get over with the fans. The ending bit was funny and got a laugh out of me.

I <3 Rodney Mack and I am pumped you are bringing him in. Long as manager = ratings TBH. Sweet new nick name too, Mack should be ECW Champ in 2 weeks.

Mr. Kennedy being in ECW is a creative way to build Kennedy up, because at this time he was nowhere new a world champion. However an ECW Champion, yes. Good things going for Kennedy.

No love for you squashing the FBI. They are a great tag team and with the right build they could go down in history! I liked the detail you put into this match up, how RVD and Kennedy shared tags, looks etc. Kennedy hitting the Mic Check was a good choice, hope Kennedy wins the strap.

Great main event and I’m sure the ECW original fans would’ve been happy. I like Dreamer a lot and he deserves a push. Sandman blows in my mind but the history between these two made this match a good one.

Overall there isn’t a lot of WOW moments or anything spectacular. It was just a good show. However I think that will change because of the angles you are building. Cor Von is in, Mack is coming, the ECW Championship tournament, Doring’s pending push, things look good and tbh I am interested.

Smackdown

This is an obvious promo coming from HBK after he chose Edge for ‘Mania and I’ve always wanted a long term feud between this two. Back forth between these two about who’s done more at ‘Mania and all that good stuff. This was a good way to kick off the show, however if Michaels versus Henry is the M.E, I’d be turning of my TV.

Punk versus Regal would be a great match, if given the proper time. I like how Regal and Taylor take advantage of Punk and Regal is able to pick up the win. Punk not gaining a superstar push right away is different and I love it, so kudos to you.

I like this pending push for Dykstra and this mini-feud with Hardy. I remember back when EVERYONE was on the Ken Doane bandwagon and it is good to see some haven’t forgotten. Dykstra then going over Hardy is great. Matt Hardy is washed up tbh, time to let the future shine.

Not too much between Finlay and MVP, seems like a filler. Now this interview from Angle is important. It explains why he will be gone from TV and also you are giving him his break, which he didn’t get and ultimately led to him going to TNA. I see Angle playing a part in ‘Mania still.

I love Deuce ‘N Domino so seeing them win the tag belts makes me happy. Good job! London and Kendrick a great team, but everyone loves them and gives them the belt, so again kudos for being different.

Interesting stuff from Guerrero and JBL here, which just leads to two new matches for No Way Out. Great additions tbh, I see Hardy and Punk going over.

Rey Mysterio will beat Burchill no problemo. I see Paul snapping after and destroying him with a chair or something.

Does Batista vs. Moore count as a match? Great BOD things here and I am really enjoying this feud. Batista and Umaga is a creative team, but I see all this leading to Umaga over Taker at Mania!

Michaels over Henry is obvious, please send Henry to ECW. Orton on Smackdown and hitting a RKO is cool. Love this Rated RKO stuf still going on, probably will continue all the way till ‘Mania.

Overall this Smackdown was enjoyable. The main event was a bit lack luster but served its purpose. Deuce ‘N Domino made this show so keep their push going. I am looking forward to No Way Out and those two new matches.

Raw

With Jericho apologizing to HBK his face turn comes full circle. So now its Rated RKO feuding with Year of Heart Break Kids or Y2HBK! I never really liked Palumbo and Jericho together and now that it is over I see Palumbo falling down the card fast. Jericho over both Orton and Palumbo please.

This is how a Raw should start off! This is a great battle royal and even better winners. I love Cryme Tyme more than Deuce ‘N Domino. Please make them tag team champs, ‘cause then both shows will have the best champs in history.

I can’t wait for Haas versus Flair, it should be a classic. I look for this match to steal the show, Haas over though.

More BOD-Batista/Umaga stuff. Classic BOD poses and mind games, however it would’ve been amazing if Kane turned on Taker and joined Batista and Umaga.

This Angle and Triple H stuff is really turning up. When these two finally meet inside the ring it shall be a classic.

Reid Flair, too early tbh. He gets owned by Haas and rightfully so. However this puts an emotional attachment onto this angle and makes it more personal. This heats things up for sure.

Haha Carlito spat on Maria, PWNED! Love heel Carlito; please push him to the moon.

I am leaning towards MVP going over Cena with the help of Finlay, thus helping his push, but I still don’t know. If this was the real WWE Cena would own MVP, but it isn’t so I am intrigued.

Good hype for the women’s battle royal. In all honestly no one should defeat Victoria, she is a great champ.

Good main event, but an interesting thing happens in it. Edge spears his own friend, Orton…mmmh this makes me wonder. Will Rated RKO break up, or can they prevail? Nonetheless Jericho pins his former friend for the win as his new friend HBK watches on. A lot of “friendship” going on here. I don’ t think this win will help Jericho too much, because although he and HBK will beat Rated RKO, they will both loose at Mania.

Overall this Raw set up No Way Out very good. The main event was great, as was the Triple H stuff. More BOD, Cryme Tyme and Carlito please. Good stuff, keep up the good work.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

ECW on Sci-Fi
Tuesday February 13, 2007
Seattle, Washington

Joey Styles and Tazz hype tonight’s semi-final match, which will pit Mr. Kennedy taking on Tommy Dreamer and next week will see Rob Van Dam take on Stevie Richards. But first off down to the ring tonight comes Rob Van Dam! RVD talks about how great it is to see ECW up and running yet again and now that they are in their third week he feels that ECW is going to be around for a lot longer! RVD keeps talking for a bit before he gets interrupted of course by Mr. Kennedy! Kennedy and RVD get into a quarrel and Kennedy keeps on reminding the fans of how crappy the original ECW was and the only reason that it is here now is because of Mr. Kennedy! After Kennedy shouts his name he reminds the fans that despite him not wanting to be here he’s got a goal. He’s got to get the ECW Championship! Kennedy and RVD argue for a bit before Kennedy cheap shots Van Dam! Kennedy attacks RVD until we see the mysterious man from last week known as Marcus Cor Von appear. Cor Von attacks RVD along with Kennedy and out runs SABU! Sabu runs down the ramp with a chair as Cor Von and Kennedy ditch the ring! Sabu throws the chair to the outside daring either one of them to come out. Paul Heyman interrupts this saying that since Mr. Kennedy has a match tonight that this issue has to be solved another time! That is why this Sunday at No Way Out we’re going to be having an Extreme Rules Tag Match with Mr. Kennedy teaming with Marcus Cor Von to take on Rob Van Dam and Sabu!

First up after the commercial “Dashing” Danny Doring makes his way down to the ring. Doring cuts a small promo similar to last week’s about how he’s the NEW face of ECW and how he won’t be denied, etc. Down the ramp comes CW Anderson! Anderson and Doring put on a decent match that sees Doring of course get the victory this week but having to resort to using the tights! Anderson knows that Doring cheated to win as Doring rolls out of the ring grabbing his coat and making his way out of the arena!

Shortly after a video plays hyping the return of “The Bayou Beast” Rodney Mack. The video shows Mack’s clips in WWE back from 2003 and what not and how he ran rampant through all the white boys in his famous White Boy Challenge! The video ends with a still shot picture of Mack and Theodore Long standing together stating “Coming in two weeks”

After the break our second match of the night takes place as Marcus Cor Von goes one on one with Nunzio. Of course this match was used for Cor Von to make his in-ring debut and run right through Nunzio in the process. Mamaluke and Trinity at ringside try to get Nunzio into the match but it all goes down hill once Nunzio gets taken down with the Pounce! Cor Von hooks the leg of Nunzio who was shot literally halfway across the ring to get the win.

Backstage we see ECW GM Paul Heyman standing by with Mick Foley! Foley says it’s great to be back here in Seattle! Heyman says that Foley will be here next week making a big announcement about himself and ECW! Heyman says it’s great to see a good friend back here with him. Foley and Heyman talk for a few more minutes but end it as Foley walks out yelling Have a Nice Day!

Kelly Kelly is standing by with Stevie Richards interviewing him about his big win last week over Sabu in the tournament. Kelly Kelly asks Stevie how it felt to win in a “big upset” Stevie says that he knew all along that he could win and he just had to go out there and do it. He knows that he got some help from Cor Von but still he made the best out of it and now he is going on to the second round next week against Rob Van Dam! Kelly Kelly once again questions Richards about his match next week with RVD and if he feels he can gain another “upset” Richards says of course he can do so and he has a feeling that the ECW title might just be around his waist VERY SOON!

Shortly after a video package airs for WrestleMania 23 – Hotter than Hell – stating that WrestleMania is only 47 days away!

Backstage Sandman is talking to Tommy Dreamer before the main event. Both men talk about their match last week and how they went out there and rehashed some memories of the original ECW. Sandman tells Dreamer that he’ll have his back tonight.

In the main event Tommy Dreamer and Mr. Kennedy lock up in an Extreme Rules Match in the second round of the ECW Championship tournament. The match gets about 10 minutes or so due to the fact that the other matches ran rather short tonight. Either way Kennedy and Dreamer put on a good main event similar to last week’s with a lot of weapons being thrown around. Dreamer was able to capitalize after a steel chair shot to the head! Dreamer went to hit Kennedy with the DDT but Kennedy shoved Dreamer off into the ropes only to run back into a big boot from Kennedy! Kennedy grabbed a trashcan throwing it at Sandman on the outside before using the ropes to hit a dropkick straight into the face of Sandman! Sandman falls down on the outside as Kennedy makes his way to the top rope and hits the Kenton Bomb before covering Dreamer and moving on! Kennedy has advanced to the finals of the tournament but as he looks ready to leave we see RVD and Sabu at the top of the ramp! Kennedy eyes RVD and Sabu face to face at the ramp as the show comes to a close.

Quick Results:

Danny Doring def. CW Anderson
Marcus Cor Von def. Nunzio
ECW Extreme Rules Tournament Match: Mr. Kennedy def. Tommy Dreamer

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday February 16, 2007
Seattle, Washington

Smackdown kicks off tonight with a surprise visit from WWE Champion Randy Orton. Orton makes his way down the ramp talking about this Sunday’s main event at No Way Out. Orton says that Edge and himself have been on the same page all along but the question is will HBK and Jericho be able to get along? Orton says he seriously doubts this and Orton gets Edge to come down to the ring now. Edge and Orton both taunt HBK and Jericho for a bit as Edge first off apologizes for the Spear this past Monday on Raw. Orton says he understands that Edge was trying to help with the match but that he didn’t need Edge’s help! Orton watches as the crowd “ooo’s” as Edge looks offended by Orton’s words. Edge and Orton look ready to come to blows before out steps Jericho! Jericho talks about his big win this Monday on Raw before he talks about the two idiots in the ring arguing. Jericho says that he knows the Jerichoholics would love to see him “break the walls down” tonight in Seattle and he will do so tonight. Jericho marches towards the ring before Sexy Boy hits across the arena. HBK comes out stopping Jericho from going down to the ring before they both head into the ring together. All four men bicker for a bit before JBL steps out onto the stage. JBL announces that despite their match this Sunday at No Way Out, he is forcing all four men to team together tonight in an Eight Man Tag Match! It’ll be Orton, Jericho, Edge, and HBK teaming up to take on Mark Henry, Finlay, MVP, and Batista!

The first match of the night pits Rey Mysterio taking on Paul Burchill after their backstage confrontation last week. Mysterio and Burchill get about ten minutes to kick off the night in in-ring action that is and it goes over well with the fans. Burchill came so close to pulling it out with the C-4 but Mysterio was able to shove Burchill off into the ropes before connecting with a Hurricanrana! Mysterio got a two count on the pin before he dropkicked Burchill off into the ropes! Mysterio ran off the ropes trying for the 619 before Burchill slides to the outside of the ring. The British Nightmare doesn’t want anything else to do with Mysterio as he gets counted out giving the win to Mysterio in the process.

Backstage Kristal interviews MVP about his big match this Sunday at No Way Out. MVP knows that this is a big moment in his career and he knows if he gets this win it will carry him to big heights! MVP says that he’s not doing this for Finlay but that it’s all for him. Finlay knows that is how it is and Finlay is fine with it! But MVP says once he beats John Cena and gets the biggest win of his career he’ll prove just why he makes all of the big bucks here on Smackdown!

A video plays showing the rehabilitation of Kurt Angle as he is prepping to get ready to make his return. It shows Angle’s shoulder being wrapped up. The video shows Angle training and what not before his injury in his personal weight room and features a few comments from him now with his injury behind him. Angle says that he’s interested to see what Triple H has in store for him this Monday on Raw.

The New WWE Tag Team Champions are in the ring now as Deuce is getting set to go one on one with Paul London! Brian Kendrick suffered an injury last week and won’t be back till early April so now it seems that London is all by himself. London and Deuce put on a decent match with the time they are given which sees London hit a big Hurricanrana and follow it up with a big Spinning Heel Kick before heading to the top rope! London got ready to leap off the top rope trying for the London Calling just like last week before Cherry was able to distract the ref. This gave her brother Domino time to push London off the top rope and back onto the mat. Deuce shortly after recovered hitting the Crack ‘em in Da Mouth for the win! Deuce, Domino, and Cherry leave the arena celebrating their win tonight while Jamie Noble hits the ring. Noble attacks London brutally beating him down before finishing him off with the Tiger Driver! Noble stands over the body of London and for whatever reason this is Noble’s third week to mess with one of London’s matches.

After the break CM Punk is in the ring getting ready to be in one on one action. Punk takes on Shannon Moore in a decent match. Moore got a bit of offense in but of course this was all for Punk to try and gain a big win tonight! Punk watched as Regal and Taylor walked down the ramp halfway through the match for Regal to scout his opponent this Sunday but it didn’t bother Punk as he went on to finish Moore with the Go to Sleep before locking in the Anaconda Vice! Moore taps out and soon as that happens Dave Taylor hits the ring. Taylor runs right into a big Roundhouse kick from Punk! Regal thinks about sliding into the ring but hesitates and instead decides to wait it out.

Backstage Matt Hardy is seen holding his United States championship. Hardy is getting ready to walk out of somewhere before he bumps into Kenny Dykstra and Ashley. Ashley looks at Kenny and tells Kenny to man up and tell Matt. Dykstra gets into the face of Matt Hardy and says that he’s tired of being remembered because he was a “Cheerleader” Dykstra says that he’s no longer worried about what anybody thinks about him. Dykstra knows that he has got to go out there and take the title this Sunday and he will do it! Hardy laughs it off walking right past Dykstra as if he wasn’t even there. The crowd gives a loud pop for Hardy!

In a bit of a Cruiserweight showcase to hype next week’s number one contender’s match we see Jimmy Wang Yang go one on one with Chavo Guerrero. This isn’t a squash match but actually appears to be a good competitive cruiserweight match. The match goes about eight or nine minutes before Chavo was able to duck underneath a Moonsault attempt from Yang before rolling him up and using the tights with the help of the ropes! Guerrero was able to roll out of the ring getting one under his belt before heading into the #1 Contender’s match next week.

Backstage Batista is seen in his locker room warming up for the big main event tonight in which he keeps on thinking he is hearing voices. The fans watching and in the arena can hear the voices but apparently Batista cannot. The voices are from the Undertaker and Kane saying “You will rest in peace” “Hell on earth” “Your time has come” and many other random things. Batista just shakes it off as he continues warming up.

JBL is seen backstage talking on the phone in his office about something. Suddenly in walks the World-Heavyweight Champion Edge. Edge talks about how this is bullshit that he has to compete in a match tonight and that he might suffer an injury before No Way Out and more importantly WrestleMania! JBL says he completely understands and he’s taking sympathy with Edge now! JBL says that tonight he steps back into the ring and that he will take Edge’s spot!

The WrestleMania 23 video package airs before showing that WrestleMania 23 is only 44 days away!

And finally the main event goes on which pits the WWE Champion Randy Orton, the Smackdown GM JBL, Chris Jericho, and Shawn Michaels all teaming together to take on Mark Henry, Finlay, MVP, and Batista. Edge is at ringside watching despite him getting the GM to compete since he might be injured. The match gets a decent bit of time considering it’s got eight big names in it and many frequent tags are thrown in and out during the match. The match ends whenever HBK is the legal man in the ring right now along with Mark Henry. HBK is tuning the band up for Henry before JBL slides out of nowhere and hits the Clothesline from Hell on HBK! JBL looks down at HBK and the fans boo and wonder just why JBL has clotheslined HBK tonight! Michaels lays on the mat as JBL motions for Henry as Henry walks over towards the middle of the ring attempting to pick Michaels up but Orton out of nowhere hits Henry with the RKO! Orton looks set to pin Henry in the ring to get the victory and he does! After the match the entire thing breaks down into a big brawl with Orton and Jericho going at it, Cena runs down to fight off Finlay and MVP, Batista meets Kane in the ring, and whenever HBK recovers him and Edge brawl for a bit. The show ends with the brawl continuing on for a bit before No Way Out this Sunday.

Quick Results:

Rey Mysterio def. Paul Burchill via countout
Deuce def. Paul London
CM Punk def. Shannon Moore
Chavo Guerrero def. Jimmy Wang Yang
Randy Orton, JBL, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Jericho def. Batista, Finlay, MVP, and Mark Henry

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury

ECW

ECW title finale has Kennedy vs RVD written all over it imo. I guess a Dreamer vs RVD match wouldnt be beyond the realms of possibility, but Kennedy & RVD looks like the likely contest.

Decent looking opening promo. As much as I have my gripes against this version of ECW, I must say that the push and direction of Kennedys character is one of the few positives to take atm. Cor Von gets himself involved for a beat down, and naturally after his random attack on Sabu last week, the Homicidal maniac looks for some old fashioned revenge. Tag match at NWO has potential, and is a steady addition to the show. I just wish you could give a little bit more of a story for why Cor Von has an issue with Sabu instead of just 'doing what he wants'.

Another win for Danny Doring, and I see already that he is going to be a player on this show. Couple more weeks of getting wins, and I think we'll soon see him develop a full blown feud with someone.

Looking forward to see how you handle The Mack. Just really pleased to see Theodore Long in his natural role .

Cor Von vs Nunzio. Pounce. The end.

Foley makes a random appearance, but I'm assuming next week when he appears we'll be seeing his next angle get kicked off, possibly / hopefully leading to a WM match for the Hardcore Icon. Cant imagine anything else it could be.

Nice to see ol' Stevie getting promo time. Highly doubt he'll be winning any championships though any time soon.

No shock that Kennedy is in the final of the ECW Title tournament, and I'd make him favourite for the win, leading to the chase from Van Dam for a long term feud. Two main events in two weeks for Dreamer, who'd a thunk it.

----------

Friday Night Smackdown

YAY!!! Promo time for the PPV main event. This match definately needed a bit of promo time to give it some much needed hype. Looks like a little bit of tension now between the previously well oiled machine of Rated RKO. Anyway, 8 Man Tag tonight comes as a bit of a curveball, but could serve as useful build up for this Sunday, and I'd expect fireworks to create some carnage going into the main event on Sunday.

Burchill gets counted out like a wuss to Mysterio. TBH, I was expecting a by the numbers win for Rey, so the count out is an interesting finish. Does this feud have legs now to go a little further?? My guess is both men are heading for MITB. The feud itself doesnt have WM written on it, I dont think it would be strong enough to warrant a spot on the card, but they could keep their issue going if both went into MITB.

MVP is beating John Cena, and that win is going to send this guy over the freaking edge. Superstar is in the making imo, and Sunday is his platform .

Angle heading to Raw this week to see what The Game has up his sleeve. Already waiting with baited breath to see how it goes down.

I'd say D&D will be moving on to new challengers following the injury of Kendrick and the victory tonight, along with, of course, the on going feud with Noble. With Kendrick out of the picture, London looks primed to go it alone, and set his focus firmly on Noble, heading into Mania. I'm left scratching my head though, when it comes to trying to figure out opponents for the new tag champions. That's a situation I'll be keeping my beady eyes locked on in the coming weeks.

Punk beats Moore with no surprises. I'd be shocked if he lost to Regal at No Way Out. Seems like just another stepping stone to me, and surely a spot in the MITB match awaits him.

As much as I'm a fan of pushing different talent, I still dont want to see Hardy lose the U.S Title to Dykstra. After just winning the belt from Kennedy, Hardy deserves more. I'd imagine he'll get it too. Still, I do like the Dykstra / Ashley pairing .

Well, I'd guess that neither Yang or Chavo will be winning the #1 Contender match. That pick surely has to be a certain Paul London.

Little bit confused by the Batista segment tbh. Could he hear the noises or not?? Hard to tell by the contradictory descriptions given. Regardless, I've never been a fan of those type of segments, but it's par for the course when Takers involved .

HUH??? JBL making an in ring return?? That was sudden. Really surprised that this return to the ring was just thrown in, with no prior build up, or even any hints. Very shocking move. I wonder what the reasoning is for it??

Very, very peculiar end to this show. From the sudden JBL return announcement, to JBL taking out HBK?? Still, their team wins thanks to Orton pinning Henry, but it's a very odd set up on Smackdown right now. Just what is the deal with JBL????? Odd turn of events to say the least. It could well add another dimension to the Michaels - Edge feud @ WM, if there is a long term plan for JBL's actions. I hope that's the case. Could be an interesting No Way Out now with these recent developments surrounding Edge, Michaels & JBL. I'm actually quite excited to see where this goes, as it feels like it's been a while since this thread has had a really unique angle going on, and better still, it's right at the top of the card.

WWE No Way Out - Predictions:

2nd Annual Champions versus Contender's Match
Randy Orton (c) and Edge (c) vs. Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho
Orton may have got the three count on SD, but that was against Mark Henry, so big whoop. He needs a big win, and it needs to be clean imo. RKO dead centre of the ring to Jericho should do the trick, and set the road for WM as Jericho looks to take the precious title away from Orton, despite a clean loss at this event.

Inter-Promotional Tag Match
The Brothers of Destruction vs. Batista and Umaga
Taker is a shoo in for a WM win, so he & Kane lose this one to at least give Umaga a little bit of a rub beforehand. Kane takes the fall though, not Taker.

Extreme Rules Tag Match
Rob Van Dam and Sabu vs. Mr. Kennedy and Marcus Cor Von
Cheap heel tactics imo. It's also a perfect opportunity to put the heels over as 'hardcore', and on a par with RVD & Sabu.

Inter-Promotional Match
John Cena vs. MVP w/ Finlay
Path to superstardom starts here . It also sets up Cena and Finlay for WM.

Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Carlito
Carlito completes his heel turn with a title belt, thanks to heelish tactics. Possibly feet on the ropes.

Inter-Promotional #1 Contender's Divas Battle Royal
Winner Faces Victoria at WrestleMania 23
Candice vs. Maria vs. Melina vs. Mickie James vs. Torrie Wilson vs. Ashley Massaro vs. Jillian vs. Kristal vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Trinity
Just because that is what is gonna happen. No doubt.

Submission Match
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. "The Suplex Specialist" Charlie Haas
Hard to call. I was all set to bold Charlie Haas, but I've went with the legend instead. Not sure why, as I have a strong feeling that Haas is in line for a push, but meh, Flair to win is my call.

United States Championship
Matt Hardy (c) vs. Kenny Dykstra
Soon, but not yet for Dykstra. Hardy to retain, and this feud to maybe continue after all the WM buzz dies down. Then, a title switch is possible.

Grudge Match
CM Punk vs. William Regal
Punk is on the way up. Regal is on the way down. You do the math.

2nd Annual Champions vs. Contender's Match
Randy Orton (c) and Edge (c) vs. Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels

Nobody could have seen the random pairing of Rated RKO back in the Summer of 2006 but nobody could have seen the reunion coming either. After coming to blows on the Raw after SummerSlam Randy Orton won a match to earn a spot on the Raw roster sending Edge back to Smackdown. But what is even more random is now the pairing of Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. We all know the history Jericho and HBK have dating back to 2003 but it struck up once again last summer. Jericho owns a victory over Michaels now where he forced the Heart Break Kid to tap out at Vengeance. But now Jericho has found a change of heart and despite failing to appear on Smackdown two weeks ago when HBK was beat down, Jericho and HBK seem to be at one another's side now (at least for tonight that is) Edge finds himself competing in another Champions versus Contender's match after he competed in one at last year's Saturday Night's Main Event before WrestleMania 22. But this year is different. Can Rated RKO get along despite their recent differences and the main problem is will Jericho and HBK be able to stay on the same page? But maybe the main question is why did JBL attack Shawn Michaels on Smackdown this past Friday? Will we get an answer at No Way Out or could we expect to see the Smackdown GM out there once again?

Inter-Promotional Tag Team Match
The Brothers of Destruction vs. Batista and Umaga

This will not be the first time BOD has teamed together at No Way Out as they teamed together back in 2000 at No Way Out. But things change over seven years and for the first time in six years Kane and the Undertaker are back together again at least for one night. Why you ask? Their soul mission is to take down the two men that have bothered both of them for months upon months. Each man has a history with one another including the storied rivalry between the Undertaker and Batista, Umaga and Kane's differences but most recently Umaga has been having problems with Undertaker and Batista the same with Kane. So Smackdown GM John Bradshaw Layfield saw fit to book the matchup at No Way Out to let all four men settle their problems. Will BOD reign supreme in their first tag match together in six years or will the tandem of Umaga and Batista surprise everybody and run through their respective rivals?

Extreme Rules Tag Team Match
Rob Van Dam and Sabu vs. Mr. Kennedy and Marcus Cor Von

For weeks Mr. Kennedy and Rob Van Dam have been at one another's throats. Ever since that cold night in January when Paul Heyman drafted Mr. Kennedy and RVD to ECW the fans have watched both men go at it. Kennedy's move to ECW shocked the fans and many wondered why Heyman would pick a superstar such as Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy has already booked his spot in the ECW Extreme Rules Title Tournament Finals against the winner of next week's match with Rob Van Dam vs. Stevie Richards. On the other side of things Marcus Cor Von burst onto the scene on the February 6th episode of ECW whenever he Pounced Sabu right through a table eliminating Sabu from the tournament. Cor Von came in and made an impact immediately stating that he is here to wreck havoc on the roster of ECW. Now with two best friends and ECW originals in RVD and Sabu having problems already having problems with two non-Originals, the question is can RVD and Sabu stop these two men. Or will Kennedy and Cor Von continue on their rolls that they have been on since ECW started off three weeks ago?

Inter-Promotional Match
John Cena vs. MVP w/ Finlay

Finlay made it clear to MVP that he "wasn't doing this for Finlay but that MVP was doing it for himself" What started off as a simple elimination in the Royal Rumble shortly after became personal. Cena and Finlay battled for close to 20 minutes in the Royal Rumble before Cena dumped Finlay out. But thanks to the help of Hornswoggle, Finlay was able to dump Cena out exacting the revenge. Cena came to Smackdown the following week wanting Finlay at No Way Out but Finlay stated that he couldn't wrestle at No Way Out but that he found somebody for him to do his buisness. Enter MVP. MVP was weary at first not wanting to do anything for anybody but himself but after the pep talk from Finlay it became clear just how big this match could be for MVP if he were to win. Can Cena steer clear of the obstacle that is MVP and head to Finlay or will MVP pull out the biggest win of his career yet?

Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Carlito

A change in attitude of Carlito has become apparent and it all started back in January on Raw. Shortly after Hardy defeated Carlito in a non-title match. What started off as a friendly match on Raw has now become personal. Carlito, a former Intercontinental Champion, has been gunning for his first singles title since 2005. Shortly after Carlito suffered a loss at the hands of Hardy, Carlito was shown to be very visibly distraught in the ring. Carlito was shown slapping the mat in anger but this didn't bother the fans. They still loved Carlito and they even loved him when he beat Hardy in the middle of the ring clean. But what occured over the following few weeks would change things. Carlito had gained his "edge" back that he had when he first came into the company. Carlito had gained back that side of him that showed why he was the coolest superstar around. No matter who it was Carlito made sure that he was going to "spit in the face of people who weren't cool" and he first did that to the backstage interviewer Maria. Now that both men have a singles win over one another could we see a new champion crowned? Or will Hardy keep his momentum heading into WrestleMania 23 with the title around his waist?

Inter-Promotional #1 Contender's Divas Battle Royal
Winner Faces Victoria at WrestleMania 23
Candice vs. Maria vs. Melina vs. Mickie James vs. Torrie Wilson vs. Ashley Massaro vs. Jillian vs. Kristal vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Trinity

Ten divas all vying for a shot at the Women's Championship at WrestleMania. All ten divas stand a good chance of winning but it's been Mickie James that has shown her worth the past few weeks. Mickie has gained wins over numerous divas including Melina and even Victoria in tag team action. But all ten divas has a stake as to why they deserve a spot in the match at WrestleMania. Could we see a shock win from someone like a former Playboy model in Candice or Torrie Wilson, a Smackdown surprise such as Ashley, Kristal, or Jillian, or even an ECW vixen in Trinity or Kelly Kelly.

Submission Match
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. "The Suplex Specialist" Charlie Haas

Rewind back to August of 2006 and you can remember Charlie Haas holding his tag team sign ups. As crazy as it sounded they worked because he found a tag team partner in Ric Flair. Flair was fresh off the Steel Cage Showdown at the time and needed to take a break from the big scene. So Flair agreed to help breed Haas into a future star. Flair and Haas eventually went on to win the World Tag Team titles from MNM at Unforgiven before holding the titles until the Royal Rumble just three weeks ago. Flair lost the match due to miscommunication costing his team the titles but Haas promised it was ok. Haas and Flair both competed in the Royal Rumble later that night and shortly after Haas was eliminated we thought he was gone for the night. Well we were wrong! Haas helped with the elimination of Flair and beat down on his mentor after Flair's elimination. Ever since then Flair has vowed revenge on Haas. Haas asked for this Submission match to not only prove that he is the "Suplex Specialist" but that he is a "Submission Specialist" Haas even took it far enough to take on Flair's son Reid who is training in OVW and keep the Haas of Pain locked in possibly ending the career of Reid that has yet to even start. The feud has been taken up a notch but the question is can Flair exact his revenge he desperately wants.

United States Championship
Matt Hardy (c) vs. Kenny Dykstra

Matt Hardy had been fighting Mr. Kennedy for nearly a year before finally he was able to reach his dream and earn the United States title at the Royal Rumble. Shortly after Hardy was being pestered by a young up and comer on Smackdown in the form of Kenny Dykstra and his new girlfriend Ashley Massaro. Kenny asked for a match against Hardy on the February 2nd episode of Smackdown before he fell unsuccesful but was able to gain a clean win on February 9th to set up this match. However the following week Dykstra made his claim that he is the future of the WWE and that the United States title will very well be his in the near future. Can Dykstra end the three week reign of Hardy before it even gets off it's feet or will Hardy roll right through Dykstra?

Grudge Match
CM Punk vs. William Regal w/ Dave Taylor

It's evident that William Regal is jealous of the success that CM Punk has brought to the table in his one and a half month run so far on Smackdown. After debuting on the first Smackdown of 2007 Punk has yet to lose a match and Regal clearly is jealous of this. It also doesn't help that Punk has wins over Regal and his friend and partner Dave Taylor in singles matches! Regal exacted revenge though when Punk came so close to winning again two weeks ago in the form of brass knucks. Regal and Taylor did a beatdown on Punk giving him a lesson to learn. That is to not mess with the veterans. So will Punk be able to keep the streak in tact or will Regal give another lesson to the young rookie?

Questions - 2 Points a Piece

1. Who will take the fall in the Champions versus Contenders Match?

2. Will any titles change hands? If so which ones?

3. Will there be any surprise apperances? If so whom?

4. Guess the card order in the order you feel they will take place. (One Point a Piece)

(You can get a total of 15 points if you get each one right)

Ok well that pretty much covers everything. I know a few more reviews might come in but that's ok becuase I had this preview ready and thought why not throw it up now. But um No Way Out will probably go up mid-week in recap form so don't expect much. Shortly after that the road to WrestleMania will "officially" kick off per say because once NWO is over most of the shows heat up. Reminder that the first Raw after NWO is Raw Roulette.

Oh and that No Way Out flashback thing is just a nostalgia thing for my thread. Those are the results that took place at last year's No Way Out. Most people are new around here and won't have read it or what not but yeah it's just a fun little thing to see how much has changed in a year, etc.

I'm going to start on reviews this week for Wolfy, Mac, and Legend and then get around to some other's hopefully. So yeah just check out the shows if you want and leave some predics and picks for NWO.

Later.
