Re: WWE Unleash the Fury
WWE SummerSlam 2006
August 20th - Los Angeles, California
The Power is Back video plays before we cut out to a black screen. Shortly after, we open up to see the hot California sun beaming down on a beach in LA. A lady laid out on the beach is shown before suddenly a thunderstorm appears out of nowhere.
Narrator: A day of wicked, evil events is upon us…
Images of Mr. McMahon yelling at Shawn Michaels and the Steel Cage for the match is being shown across the screen.
Mr. McMahon (to Shawn Michaels): I’m going to make your life a living hell!
Narrator: Something that is inhumane…
Images of the first ever Last Ride Match is shown with the Undertaker being stuffed into the hearse.
Narrator: For it is not right of what will happen tonight…
More images play of the other superstars involved tonight such as Finlay causing Lashley to bleed this past Friday on Smackdown.
Narrator: But one thing is certain…
Images of Mark Henry, Kurt Angle, and JBL are all shown having their feud, with some clips being thrown in from the Great American Bash.
Narrator: That tonight as summer ends and fall nears….
Images of past SummerSlam’s main matches being shown.
Narrator: We prepare for what is ahead of us…
Quick flashing images of the other superstars involve tonight, mainly showing Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho, are shown. The video speeds up before it slows down. Suddenly a lightning bolt strikes across the screen and the storm gets even wilder.
Narrator: A storm like none other….
The storm starts to pick up with the water rising up! We start to hear the superstars come in now, yelling at one another. Suddenly, it all CRASHES as a final thunderbolt strikes and hits the beach! The storm suddenly stops and the sun comes back out.
Narrator: But for tonight we remember this one last day…
In the background, Mr. McMahon’s voice comes across now.
Mr. McMahon: For tonight, the 20th of August, in the year 2006, the day of reckoning is upon us! Welcome to SummerSlam….
The SummerSlam logo comes across the screen as we hear Mr. McMahon one final time.
Mr. McMahon: Welcome to the end of civilization as we know it!
The SummerSlam logo gets “washed away” off the beach as the storm strikes again. The video starts to fade as we hear finally one last thing….
Narrator: When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone but the righteous stand firm forever. (Proverbs 10:25)
The video cuts out as we see the SummerSlam logo come back across the screen with the Raw and Smackdown logo underneath it!
Narrator: And now, World Wrestling Entertainment, Raw, and Smackdown present SummerSlam!
Shortly as SummerSlam is said, we cut into the arena! The pyro sets off as we scan across the Staples Center! The set up for the stage is similar to WrestleMania except not as long. It has just a long walkway, not a ramp. There is sand scattered every where with lawn chairs, beach balls, and every thing else you could imagine on the beach scattered out by the stage. The titantron is the one that has been used for SummerSlam for the past few years where it has three different screens to show the video. It’s shaped like a half circle as we cut down to ringside to the commentating team!
Jim Ross: Hello one and all and welcome to the 19th annual SummerSlam and by gawd I must say probably the biggest one yet!
Jerry Lawler: Indeed we are ahead of a big night JR and I must say that it has a lot to do with the lineup that Raw is bringing to the table tonight!
Jim Ross: Four huge matches from Raw four bad blood matches that is. And nothing is more imminent than the first ever Steel Cage Showdown tonight!
Jerry Lawler: And right now let’s pass it down to our colleagues from Smackdown. Take it away Michael and Tazz…
Michael Cole: Thanks King and JR! A huge night is definently ahead for Raw but I like to think myself that with our four matches, we’re in for an even bigger night!
Tazz: I agree with you Cole because we’ve got a huge World Heavyweight title match, the Last Ride match, a hard hitting match with Lashley and Finlay and then finally Mr. Kennedy meets Rey Mysterio!
Michael Cole: Major implications on every match tonight and speaking of Mr. Kennedy, let’s go ahead and get SummerSlam underway with the US title match!
Turn up the Treble hits across the arena and out steps Mr. Kennedy! The crowd doesn’t take too kind to their United States Champion. Kennedy makes his way down the ramp arrogant than ever as he rolls into the ring and looks up into the heavens. He looks around and then throws his hand in the air as the crowd watches the mic descend from above. Mr. Kennedy grabs the mic and looks around the arena for a bit.
Mr. Kennedy: Welcome to SummerSlam 2006! And what a better way to kick off with none other than the United States Championship Match! Tonight I weigh in a mean and slim 243 pounds, I hail from the wonderful city of Green Bay, Wisconsin….I am your current United States Champion and when the match is over, I will remain champion! My name is Mister Kennedyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
Mr. Kennedy walks over to the turnbuckles and climbs up before taking the title off and holding it high in the air with his right hand.
Mr. Kennedy: Kennedyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
Booyaka 619 plays across the arena as out jumps Rey Mysterio from the stage. Rey comes down the ramp sporting blue and white pants for the Dodgers. Mysterio rolls into the ring and climbs up each turnbuckle as Kennedy stares down his opponent for tonight. Mysterio leaps off the turnbuckles looking ready for the match to begin.
Tony Chimmel: And his challenger from San Diego, California weighing in at 165 pounds, he is Rey Mysterio!!!
Live for the Moment hits across the arena as out walks Matt Hardy in the zebra suit. Hardy makes his way down the ramp after stopping at the top and throwing up the V1 symbol that he still uses to this day. Hardy makes his way down before climbing up the steps and into the ring. Hardy plays to the fans a bit before he gets into the ring.
Tony Chimmel: Introducing the special guest referee, Matt Hardy!!!
United States Championship
Mr. Kennedy (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Special Guest Referee: Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy leans over the ropes and calls for the bell as the match is underway. Mr. Kennedy and Mysterio both lock up in the ring as Kennedy looks to take the advantage and does so by hitting Mysterio across the back with a clubbing right to get the match started off with. Kennedy ends up pushing Mysterio into the ropes back first before he knees Mysterio in the sternum. Kennedy follows that up by grabbing Mysterio’s head and bringing it crashing down right onto the knee of Mr. Kennedy! Kennedy grabs Mysterio and pulls him out of the corner before he proceeds to throw Mysterio into the ropes with an Irish whip.
As Mysterio bounces off the ropes, he runs right into a clothesline from Mr. Kennedy knocking down the underdog Mysterio with a huge clothesline. Kennedy gets down on the mat in Mysterio’s face and rubs it in about him now having the advantage. Kennedy gets down on the mat and wraps his arm around Mysterio’s head choking out the masked superstar. Kennedy is lying down facing the opposite way as Kennedy has his arms on Mysterio’s head and Kennedy’s head is lying right besides Mysterio. Kennedy yells at Mysterio to give up as Matt Hardy asks Mysterio if he wants to give up. Mysterio yells “No!” as Kennedy picks Mysterio back up off the mat and Kennedy ends up throwing Mysterio right back into the ropes with another Irish whip. Kennedy charges at Mysterio and knocks down the challenger with a Shoulder Block. Kennedy quickly tosses Mysterio on his side and hooks the leg maybe for an early win?
No! Mysterio was able to kick out and keep the match going. Hardy gets back onto his feet as he counted the fall fairly. Kennedy doesn’t say anything to his arch nemesis Hardy as Kennedy instead chooses to focus on his opponent Mysterio. Kennedy knees Mysterio once again in the sternum before dragging Mysterio into the corner looking to throw his head off the turnbuckles. However Mysterio prevents a turnbuckle head shot as Mysterio grabs the ropes and instead throws Kennedy’s head off the turnbuckles! Kennedy backs away from the turnbuckles as Mysterio quickly leaps onto the ropes leaping off the ropes with a huge Moonsault! The fans cheer on Mysterio as he hooks the leg after getting major air from the Moonsault.
The fans watch as Mysterio really thought he had a chance at closing the match out there this early on. Mysterio quickly gets right back onto his feet knowing that he cannot waste time here tonight and that he wants to end this match as quickly as possible. Mysterio looks down at Kennedy who is pulling himself up with the aid of the turnbuckles. Mysterio goes to grab Kennedy and he pulls Kennedy out of the corner. Kennedy retaliates as he turns around and whips Mysterio back into the ropes but once again it’s Mysterio that gets the best of him as Mysterio leaps off the ropes and hits a Springboard Reverse Crossbody landing right on Kennedy for another pin fall cover.
It’s just not enough. Mysterio is not able to believe that he is pulling out some of his signature moves this early on and they’re not really “helping” him that much. Mysterio quickly rolls back onto his feet and walks over kicking Kennedy hard in the back. Hardy checks on Kennedy real quick as Mysterio walks over and picks Kennedy back up throwing him into the turnbuckles. Mysterio quickly runs into the corner and connects with a splash in the corner. Mysterio gets ready to climb the turnbuckles after seating Kennedy on the top turnbuckle but as he does, he leaps into the air and falls back first onto the mat down below.
Kennedy looks down at Mysterio knowing this could be his chance to regain the advantage he had earlier in the match. Kennedy gets his footing on the top rope and leaps off the ropes connecting with an early attempt at the Kenton Bomb! The fans boo as they know this might be the ending but Kennedy has some trouble getting over to Mysterio. It takes him a few seconds to get over and make the cover but he does.
WAIT! Mysterio gets his shoulder up meaning the match must continue on! Kennedy looks around the arena wondering just what the hell is going on! The fans watch as Kennedy goes around kicking the turnbuckles, the ropes, and just stomping around in general. Kennedy walks over and even kicks Mysterio hard in the head! The fans boo as Kennedy is taking his frustration out now on his opponent. Hardy gets in the face of Kennedy and Kennedy rares back and looks ready to slap Hardy in the face. Kennedy however stops and walks back over to Mysterio trying to keep his mind on the match. Kennedy grabs Mysterio and places him in the corner before hitting Mysterio with a Knee Lift. Mysterio continues to find himself in more trouble during the match as Kennedy now leans against Mysterio and chunks him into the opposing turnbuckles.
Kennedy charges into the corner and connects with another clothesline in the corner knocking down Mysterio down to the bottom turnbuckle. Kennedy plays with Mysterio taunting him now and daring him to get back onto his feet. Kennedy looks down at Mysterio whose head is lying at the bottom turnbuckle. Kennedy heads into the other corner and looks at Mysterio before he runs off the ropes and connects with the Facewash almost damn near kicking Mysterio’s head off! The fans watch on and are concerned for the luchador as Kennedy continues to take every advantage he can in this match to try and keep his title here tonight. Kennedy walks back over to Mysterio and picks him up before chunking Mysterio across the ring.
Kennedy looks down at Mysterio lying innocently on the mat before Kennedy stands on Mysterio’s head for a few seconds. Mysterio lets out loud yells of pain as Hardy grabs Kennedy and breaks it up. Kennedy pushes Hardy and Hardy doesn’t push back but warns Kennedy one more time and that he is disqualified. Kennedy looks down at Mysterio and picks him back up before throwing him underneath his arm and Kennedy looks for the Snap DDT but Mysterio was able to reverse it with a DDT of his own planting Kennedy head first into the mat! Mysterio rolls over on his side grabbing the ropes and attempting to pull himself up to try and get back into the match.
Mysterio pulls himself finally up by the ropes and makes his way to the apron on the outside. Mysterio watches as Kennedy gets himself back up and turns around right into a Seated Senton from Mysterio! The fans go wild as Mysterio is starting to get himself back into the swing of things now and might pick up his second United States title! Mysterio quickly gets back onto his feet and runs right back over to Kennedy baseball dropkicking his opponent to the outside. Mr. Kennedy lands hard on the outside with a thud as Mysterio looks down at Kennedy! The fans watch as Mysterio heads to the other side of the ring and runs off the ropes before leaping over the ropes and connecting with a huge Suicide Plancha! The fans literally go wild as Mysterio has gotten himself back into the match and now Hardy looks ready to count out Kennedy. Mysterio was able to get back into the ring rather quickly because Kennedy took the major brunt of the move.
Fo… Kennedy begins to stir.
E….Kennedy makes his way onto the apron and slides back into the ring!
Mysterio greets Kennedy back in the ring with a huge enzuigiri knocking Kennedy back down onto the mat after having just barely gotten back in here in time. Mysterio looks down at Kennedy and makes his way over to the turnbuckles. Kennedy is starting to slowly stir once again as Mysterio looks ready for his next move onto Kennedy. Mysterio watches as Kennedy runs over but Mysterio leaps over Kennedy. Kennedy stops himself from running into the turnbuckles but as Kennedy turns around, Mysterio leaped into the air looking for a Hurricanrana but Kennedy was able to hit Mysterio with a Powerbomb before holding on and then ramming Mysterio back first with the power bomb position still applied. The fans grunt at the sick move as Mysterio once again grabs his head after it just collided with the top turnbuckle. Kennedy throws Mysterio on his side looking for another chance at victory.
Foot on the ropes by the underdog in the match Mysterio! The fans go wild as Rey Rey continues to put on one wild show tonight! Kennedy looks down at Mysterio and after pulling himself up walks back over to Mysterio and throws Mysterio right back onto his feet. Kennedy instead grabs Mysterio and throws him right back into the turnbuckles. Kennedy throws Mysterio’s head off his knee before climbing onto the middle turnbuckle. Mr. Kennedy quickly pulls Mysterio up off the mat and brings him easily up to the top rope with him. Kennedy has Mysterio on the top rope and is standing as somehow and someway, Mysterio was able to spin around and connect with a sick Hurricanrana off the top rope bringing Kennedy crashing down hard onto the mat! Holy shit breaks out across the crowd as the fans thought for sure Kennedy was going to connect with the Green Bay Plunge! The fans go wild as both men are down and the fans know they need to get behind Mysterio to keep the match going here tonight.
Mysterio rolls over on the mat grabbing at his neck as it is obvious that he is pain after having taking one big bump there but he knows what lies ahead of him, the United States title. Mysterio slowly ended up pulling himself over onto the ropes and has a bit of trouble getting up the ropes right now after taking one hell of a bump from that Hurricanrana only moments ago. Kennedy is not moving right now on the mat and might be hurt after that major bump which he took the majority of the fall on. Mysterio now pulls himself back onto his feet and looks around the arena as the fans are chanting for him as he looks down at Kennedy and leaps off the ropes going for a Frog Splash but at the last second, Kennedy was able to move somehow! How, we don’t know because the fans thought Kennedy was out of it but Kennedy really moved right at the last second as Mysterio ended up colliding with the mat!
The fans watch as Hardy looks ready to count out Kennedy and Mysterio once again but Kennedy was able to grab the ropes and pull himself up though having a bit of trouble standing up right now. Kennedy walks back over to Mysterio apparently having a bit of trouble getting over there showing a small limp trying to play off his fall earlier. Kennedy grabs Mysterio and throws him between his arm and connects with a DDT bringing the head of little Rey Mysterio crashing down into the mat hard! The fans boo as they watch what could be the end of Rey’s title hopes.
The fans cheer on Mysterio as once again he was able to get his shoulder up and keep the match going. Hardy walks over and checks on his good friend Mysterio and asks if he can continue on during the match. Kennedy walks over and grabs Mysterio throwing him back first onto the mat with a body slam before dropping a knee on the throat of Mysterio. Mysterio coughs rather loud playing off his head/throat problems that he’s “had” during the match due to the attacks from Kennedy throughout the match up here tonight.
Kennedy looks down and grabs Mysterio possibly looking to go ahead and put this match in the bag. Kennedy looks around the arena and grabs Mysterio possibly for the Mic Check but Mysterio pushes Kennedy off into the ropes. Kennedy springboards off the ropes stomach first before being hit with a dropkick sending Kennedy onto the middle rope magically! Mysterio looks around the arena and has a bit of trouble running but is able to do so and connects with the 619! The fans go wild as Mysterio manages to pull himself up onto the top rope and leaps off the top rope attempting the Springboard Splash but once again Kennedy rolled out of the way as Mysterio hit the mat sternum first connecting with the mat rather hard. The fans “ooo” as they know that Mysterio once again could be losing his title opportunity.
Kennedy now slides to the outside as he brings his title into the ring and throws it in. Kennedy goes to grab the title but the referee, Matt Hardy, picks the title up before Kennedy can get it to and utilize it on his opponent Rey Mysterio. Hardy holds the title belt and looks ready to throw it back to the outside of the ring but Kennedy won’t let that happen as both Kennedy and Hardy have a tug of war over the title belt in the middle of the ring. Hardy was able to secure the title away from Kennedy and he heads to the outside to hand the title over but Kennedy won’t let Hardy leave the ring. Kennedy demands that he is handed the title now but Hardy won’t let that happen and he hands it over to Tony Chimmel who grabs it and places it back at ringside where it rightfully belongs.
Kennedy mouths off to Hardy and Hardy reminds Kennedy about him being the referee as Hardy points to his uniform. Kennedy gets in the face of Hardy and says he doesn’t care who Matt Hardy is. Kennedy looks around the arena and looks ready as if he is going to hit Hardy. Kennedy instead walks over keeping his composure once again before grabbing Mysterio. Kennedy grabs Mysterio picking him up off the mat and throwing him between his arms. Kennedy looks ready to finish off Mysterio but Mysterio manages to push Kennedy off of him.
Mysterio charges into the corner but Kennedy moves and throws Hardy in the corner. Kennedy watches as Mysterio tries to check on his partner Hardy who is fine but is just dazed right now. Kennedy wastes no time as he watches Mysterio turn around and back right up into his arms. Kennedy yells out across the arena as he grabs Mysterio and connects with his new finisher that he’s debuting tonight, the Mic Check! The fans boo as Kennedy quickly throws Mysterio onto his side and hooks the leg of Mysterio. Kennedy watches as Hardy comes over a little dazed and begins to count slowly as it takes him a while to get down onto the mat.
Tony Chimmel: The winner of this match and STILL United States Champion…Mr. Kennedy
Match Length: 13 Minutes, 06 Seconds
Michael Cole: Rey Mysterio put up one hell of a fight but in the end it was Mr. Kennedy who stood tall with the title in his hands.
Tazz: The ending makes me wonder though Cole that had Hardy not been in the corner the match might still be going on.
Michael Cole: Huh? That makes no sense Tazz!
We head backstage afterwards to see Raw GM Jonathan Coachman and Smackdown GM Theodore Long in an office set up for both men with a TV to watch the PPV.
Theodore Long: Now that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout playa!
Jonathan Coachman: Teddy that’s ok because Raw still has their four matches to put on and I can promise you that EVERY match will be better than that one!
Theodore Long: You sure about that dawg?
Jonathan Coachman: Teddy I’m positive. I’m so positive that I’m willing to make you a bet right now.
Coach reaches into his pocket and pulls out a $100 dollar bill and waves it in the face of the Smackdown GM.
Theodore Long: You’re on playa!
Teddy reaches over and shakes Coach’s hand as Coach places the 100 dollar bill back in his pocket and then goes to ask Teddy another question.
Theodore Long: But how do we know which brand has the better matches?
Jonathan Coachman: Easy. I can go ahead and tell you it’ll be Raw but how ab…
In walks Maria at such an appropriate time.
Maria: Hi guys!
Maria waves at the Raw and Smackdown GM’s.
Jonathan Coachman: Right there! That’s our answer
Theodore Long: Huh? I’m not so sure about this one dawg. I mean she’s from Raw after all and ya’ never know considering your record Mr. Coachman
Jonathan Coachman: Now come on Teddy, it’s just innocent little Maria. Now Maria, we just made a bet to see who has the better matches tonight. Raw or Smackdown. We need you to tell us at the end of the night who had the better matches! Ok?
Jonathan Coachman: See it’s that easy!
Long shakes his head as the camera cuts back into the arena as Maria sits down with the two general managers as we head back into the arena.
Jim Ross: It’s time for the first Raw match of the night and well what a way to get it kicked off with none other than Booker T meeting Carlito.
Jerry Lawler: Two men that can’t keep their hands off one another. It makes me wonder how this match is going to turn out here tonight!
Can You Dig It…Sucka? Hits across the arena as out steps Booker T. Booker walks down the ramp with a purpose tonight, looking to end this feud with Carlito. The fans don’t take too kind to Booker in the ring as he rolls in and taunts the fans, holding his hands high as boos come in from the crowd but Booker simply ignores them and stretches on the ropes.
Lilian Garcia: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Houston, Texas, weighing in at 250 pounds, Booker T!!!
Cool hits across the arena as out steps Carlito. Carlito throws an apple into the air as the Caribbean superstar makes his way down the ramp before taking a bite into the apple and spitting it down at the mat. Carlito gets into the ring, staring straight into the eyes of Booker T.
Lilian Garcia: And his opponent, from the Caribbean, weighing in at 220 pounds, he is Carlito!!!
Carlito vs. Booker T
The ref calls for the bell as both men circle around one another, jockeying for position to see who is going to get the first advantage. Booker is able to first as he surprises Carlito with a kick to the sternum and follows it up by twisting Carlito’s arm behind his back. Booker ends up forcing Carlito into the corner but the ref calls for the break up as Booker backs up, saying he did nothing wrong. Carlito comes right out of the corner but is met with a hard sucker punch from Booker as Carlito falls down onto the mat.
Booker wastes no time from there on as he quickly starts stomping away at Carlito. Booker doesn’t shy away from the attack on Carlito, trying his best to get any early advantage he can. Booker quickly pulls Carlito back onto his feet before throwing the Caribbean superstar straight into the turnbuckles. Booker charges at Carlito in the corner but Carlito is quick to move as Booker runs sternum first into the turnbuckles! The fans give a decent pop as Carlito leaps into the air as Booker rebounds out of the corner back first when Carlito quickly dropkicks Booker right back into the turnbuckles once again!
Carlito plays to the fans quickly as he cocks a smile but goes back to work over on Booker, rolling Booker back onto his side and picking him back up. Carlito goes to Irish whip Booker into the ropes but Booker is quick to reverse and send Carlito into the ropes. Booker watches as Carlito comes running back at him but Booker is quick to catch Carlito with a hard right sending Carlito flying down onto the mat. Booker rolls back onto his feet as he springs off the ropes and comes back before dropping a knee onto the stomach of Carlito. Booker wastes no time as he throws Carlito to the side and hooks the leg rather early in the match.
It’s not enough of course this early on as Carlito kicks out with a force. Booker doesn’t take too kind to this as he gets back right up onto his feet and jerks Carlito off the mat. Booker picks up Carlito and rams Carlito back first into the turnbuckle. Booker climbs onto the middle turnbuckle and starts to mount Carlito with some more rights to the head but Carlito is quick to counter as he pushes Booker off the ropes. Booker turns back around but as he does, he runs right into a clothesline from the Southpaw, Carlito. Carlito gets back onto his feet as Booker is still down on the mat from the hard clothesline he just took from Carlito.
Carlito quickly pulls Booker back up and he places Booker in the corner now, looking to take an early advantage like Booker tried earlier. Carlito leans against Booker before sending Booker flying into the opposing turnbuckles. Carlito charges at Booker in the corner and clotheslines Booker hard in the corner once again. As Carlito watches Booker come out of the corner, Carlito quickly grabs Booker and runs out of the corner and hits a Running Bulldog! Carlito throws Booker back over onto his side as he decides to hook the leg for his first cover of the match.
It’s certainly not enough as Booker is able to kick out of the pin fall and get back into the match. Carlito looks infuriated that he can’t put Booker away, despite it being early on in the match. Carlito quickly pulls Booker right back onto his feet once again before throwing Booker one more time into the corner. Carlito runs at Booker in the turnbuckle corner but as he does, Booker moves and Carlito runs into the turnbuckle. Booker grabs Carlito’s head and bashes it off the turnbuckle before clothesline Carlito to the outside of the ring. Booker falls down onto the mat, glad that he finally has a chance to take a break with Carlito down and out on the outside. The ref starts counting on the outside as Booker stands up and waits on Carlito.
Booker has seen enough as he slides to the outside and rolls back in breaking the count. Booker T quickly heads back to the outside and pulls Carlito back up. Booker goes to bash Carlito’s head off the steps but Carlito prevents him from doing so before driving Booker T back first into the ring! Booker grasps at his back as Carlito rolls Booker T back into the ring. The Caribbean superstar makes his way up the steps before making his way over onto the top rope. The fans look confused as to what Carlito is trying to do.
Carlito climbs up the turnbuckles and looks a little nervous up there as mentioned earlier. He stumbles and loses his footing, which of course is giving Booker time in the ring to recover. Carlito regains his footing, standing back up on the turnbuckles but as he does so, Booker quickly makes his way up the turnbuckles and grabs Carlito. Booker is on the middle turnbuckle, as he hits Carlito with a shot to the sternum. Booker quickly grasps Carlito and brings him crashing down onto the mat with a huge Superplex as the fans are booing Booker as he is making a comeback here tonight and may well win the match. The fans watch as Booker slowly but surely starts crawling over towards Carlito. Booker throws an arm over Carlito, looking for the win.
Booker looks on in dismay as he throws the referee a look, certainly not a nice one either! Booker pulls himself back up onto his feet, showing a little bit of pain holding his back from the Superplex. He holds the ropes to support himself quickly to “play off” that his back is bothering him. However, he quickly gets back to work heading right back over to Carlito before picking Carlito back up and Irish whipping Carlito into the ropes. As Carlito comes running back, Booker ends up catching him with a Houston Sidekick sending Carlito back down onto the mat. Booker drops down onto one knee as the fans watch him as he holds his back but instead, he tricks them all as he does the Spinaroonie right there in the middle of the ring!
Booker gets back up onto his feet as Carlito is still down in the middle of the ring and the fans watch on as Booker goes back over to Carlito. The fans are rallying behind Carlito with some decent sized Carlito chants but it’s not looking too pretty right now. Booker picks Carlito back up and twists his arm behind Carlito’s back, before trying for the hook kick but Carlito pushes Booker off! As Booker runs back at Carlito, Carlito leaps into the air and hits a Hurricanrana sending Booker flying across the ring and into the opposing corner’s turnbuckles.
The fans are excited as Carlito has pulled himself right back into the midst of things. Carlito takes this time to run off the ropes and hit Booker hard with a knee to the head. Carlito quickly rebounds right back off the ropes once again and sends Booker flying back down onto the mat with another clothesline. Carlito is pumped up now as he picks Booker back up and once again Irish whips Booker into the ropes. Booker reverses the whip but Carlito reverses again sending Booker into the ropes. As Booker runs back, he runs right into a DDT from Carlito! Carlito hooks the leg of Booker, once again looking for another chance at winning.
A DDT is not going to be enough as Booker kicks out once again. Carlito now pulls Booker off the mat but as he does, Booker hits Carlito with a hard right to the sternum. This throws Carlito off as he wasn’t expecting Carlito to get back into the match like that but Booker knees Carlito in the stomach shortly after. Booker throws Carlito into the ropes but Carlito quickly leaps onto the middle rope, looking for his patented Springboard Elbow but Booker had it scouted as he moves out of the way. Carlito catches his balance but as he turns around, he ends up running right into the Spinebuster from Booker T! It could be all but over now as Booker falls down onto the mat and hooks both legs of Carlito’s. This could be it!
Booker slaps the mat furiously as he rolls back over to get back onto his feet. Booker thought he had pulled one over on the fans there after scouting Carlito’s move but instead, Carlito was able to get a shoulder up and keep the match going. Booker gets back onto his feet and decides to taunt Carlito as he sees Carlito pulling himself back up onto his feet. Booker sees that now is the time as he comes running off the ropes, looking for the Scissors Kick but Carlito moves and musters enough strength to push Carlito into the turnbuckles once again.
Booker rebounds out of the corner as Carlito climbs onto the middle rope and leaps over Booker, looking for some type of move but he missed. However, this sets up a chance for Carlito to hit the Back Cracker but as he was going for it, Booker held onto the ropes as Carlito falls back first onto the mat. Booker quickly pushes Carlito’s legs up against his body and goes for a cover with Booker’s legs on the ropes! The ref has no clue right now as he goes down on the mat and begins counting. Booker might steal this one.
The ref notices that Booker had his foot on the rope and he wasn’t about to allow cheating in the match. Booker gets into the face of the referee, almost having a fit saying that his feet were not on the ropes but clearly they were. Booker continues arguing with the referee, saying that the match should have been his right there. Carlito comes from behind on Booker, getting a cradle surprising Booker, as he never knew the cradle was coming.
Booker almost got pinned there but he gets back up to see Carlito getting back onto his feet. Booker grabs Carlito, still mad about the fact that Booker thinks he should have won despite the ref catching him cheating earlier. Booker grabs Carlito, looking for the Book-End but Carlito elbows Booker in the back of the head and ends up pushing Booker into the ropes. As Booker rebounds off the ropes stomach first, he walks right into a Back Cracker from Carlito! The fans go wild as Carlito throws Booker over onto his side and hooks the leg of Booker T’s.
Lilian Garcia: Here is your winner…Carlito!!!
Match Length: 9 Minutes, 9 Seconds
Jim Ross: Carlito was the one that was able to close the match out in the end and it was one indeed hell of a match!
Jerry Lawler: Both men put on a hard hitting contest but in the end, Carlito proved to Booker that he is the better man.
We head backstage after the match to see Hornswoggle running around rampantly once again.
Finlay: Get back here ya’ little bastard.
Hornswoggle runs around and runs to the divas locker room! He runs into the locker room that has all the divas from Raw and Smackdown together as Finlay hates to go in but he has to. The women go wild as they start beating on Finlay as most of the normal times the men go into the locker room on camera. Hornswoggle lifts up Torrie Wilson’s skirt as Torrie lets out a shriek before Hornswoggle runs out of the locker room. Hornswoggle then continues running around before he bumps into Shannon Moore.

Bobby Lashley vs. Finlay
The ref calls for the bell to begin this heated grudge match as Lashley and Finlay both stare down one another. Lashley calls for a test of strength but Finlay is too smart to fall for that as instead, they meet in the ring for a tie up. Finlay takes advantage first after he head butts Lashley. As Lashley comes back out of the corner, Finlay hits Lashley with a closed fist right across the back. Lashley falls down onto the mat, grasping his back now, as Finlay seems to found what he is going to target for the rest of the match most likely, that being the shoulder of Lashley.
Finlay quickly flips Lashley off before putting a knee into the back of Lashley as he grabs the arms of pulls away. Finlay decides to hook the leg once again and go for another cover.
Lashley was able to get his right shoulder up, the shoulder that he is having trouble with right now but you know it had to hurt to get the shoulder up. Finlay looks pissed at the ref but doesn’t argue but instead gets back to work on Lashley. Finlay pulls Lashley back onto his feet as he this time drives Lashley into the turnbuckles. Lashley ducks underneath some type of move by Finlay but as Lashley comes off the ropes, he meets Finlay with a huge SPEAR! The fans cheer on Lashley as Lashley falls down onto the mat but considering he had to use his right shoulder to Spear Finlay, he might not have too much left in him right now. We head backstage shortly after to cut to Kristal standing by with Shelton Benjamin.
Kristal: Hi it’s Smackdown’s Kristal standing by and right now I’m here with Raw’s Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin. Now Shelton coming up next you have a huge Intercontinental title defense against Jeff Hardy? Are you worried about Hardy’s odds in this match?
Shelton Benjamin: Odds and luck? Who needs that when you’re Shelton Benjamin? There is not another athlete on the face of the plant like me. I am the great one, the one and the only, Shelton Benjamin and it is going to remain that way for a long time. And of course that means I’m going to remain the Intercontinental Champion for a long time as well.
Kristal: Jeff Hardy has put up a fight in the past few weeks by first having to beat three men at once to earn the title shot? Do you respect him at all for these efforts?
Shelton Benjamin: Once again Kristal? Respect? I don’t “respect” anyone but myself. I don’t need to because what has respect gotten me in the past. Nothing. That’s why I’m only worried about myself and only myself. I don’t need the fans, I don’t need you and I certainly don’t need the respect of Jeff Hardy to make me “feel better”
Kristal: Any final comments before your match against Jeff?
Shelton Benjamin: Jeff you really don’t know what’s coming to you man. I’ve been waiting for my time to shine since I came to the WWE back in 2002. I’ve had to wait a while even when I was with Team Angle. I was held down then and still am to this day. But tonight, I’m not out here for respect. I’m not out here to try and earn that from you or the fans like I said earlier. I’m here because of this (he holds up the title) and I’ve got to keep it MINE.

Benjamin backs up in the corner, watching Hardy as he charges off the ropes and runs at Hardy for a Shelton Splash. Benjamin leaps into the air and misses as Hardy moved out of the corner! Hardy quickly runs up the ropes and leaps off the ropes, hitting the Whisper in the Wind! The fans go wild as Hardy hooks the leg quickly of Benjamin!
Benjamin kicks out once again as Hardy doesn’t know what to think. Hardy strokes his hair now as he gets back onto his feet, motioning for Benjamin to get back up. Benjamin gets back up onto his feet and backs up into Hardy’s arms, who’s looking for possibly another DDT but Benjamin, pushes off Hardy! Benjamin goes to grab Hardy but Hardy quickly pushes Benjamin off! Benjamin slides to the outside of the ring quickly and walks over, grabbing his title! Benjamin tries bringing the title into the ring but the ref places it in the corner. Benjamin turns around as Hardy runs at Benjamin but as Hardy jumps at Benjamin, Benjamin moves and pushes the referee in front of him! Hardy doesn’t bother checking on the referee. Benjamin charges at Hardy now but Hardy face plants him with a Drop toe hold. Hardy now quickly climbs onto the ropes, looking possibly for the Swanton Bomb and there is no referee either as of right now! Hardy didn’t see Benjamin grab his title out of the corner real quick. Hardy now looks down at Benjamin and leaps off the ropes, trying for a Swanton Bomb but Benjamin moves and Hardy lands hard on his back on the title! A new referee runs down the ramp as Benjamin slides the title to the outside before he can see the title. Benjamin hooks the leg, looking for the win.
Lilian Garcia: Here is your winner and STILL the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin!
Match Length: 15 Minutes, 53 Seconds
Jim Ross: WOW! My gawd was that one hell of a match we just witnessed here tonight and through it all Shelton proved me wrong.
Jerry Lawler: Hardy had many chances to close the match out but apparently Benjamin’s new attitude is helping him in a way.
We now head backstage to see the two GM’s sitting down and Maria watching with them.
Jonathan Coachman: What about that one Teddy? I think Raw’s got this one in the books now!
Theodore Long: Don’t say that yet Coach. It was one great match but I’m confident Smackdown has what it takes to close the night and the bet out in our favor dawg!
Jonathan Coachman: Maria, your thoughts?
Both Long and Coach look at Maria.
Maria: I don’t know Coach. I think that Raw is leading it right now. Jeff Hardy is so cool looking….
Coach looks at Maria after her stupid comment but then turns around and looks at Long and starts taunting him.
Theodore Long: It’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings playa.
Jonathan Coachman: Oh, it’s long been over Teddy.
Theodore Long: We’ll see dawg.
The camera cuts out before we head backstage to see Team Michaels in their locker room talking strategy.
Shawn Michaels: Ok guys tonight is a very important night for us. Not only is my career on the line but the fact that your future title shots are on the line is important too. Remember that if we lose, you both won’t get title shots for a while.
John Cena: Listen Shawn. We got your back here tonight. There’s nothing to worry about.
Shawn Michaels: Thanks John. Ric, I know that you’ve always wanted that 17th World title reign and well, let’s keep that hope up.
Ric Flair: WOOOOO!!!!
Flair struts a bit.
Ric Flair: The Naitch has your back brother. Tonight I’m going to style and profile my way into that steel cage. I’m going to bleed buckets of blood and WOOOO!!!! Team Michaels is going to walk out victorious and beat that no good son of a bitch Team McMahon.
Flair rares back a bit.
Ric Flair: WOOOOOOO!!!!
Shawn Michaels: That’s the spirit.
John Cena: Anybody talked to Steve?
Shawn Michaels: Yeah, I did earlier.
John Cena: Well….
Michaels goes to whisper something into his ear. Cena and Flair both smile as Flair looks excited.
Ric Flair: WOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
We head back into the arena to Michael Cole and Tazz
Michael Cole: We’re only halfway through tonight and what an amazing SummerSlam it has been so far here tonight.
Tazz: Every match that has taken place whether it’s been Raw or Smackdown has blown the roof of here in Los Angeles.
Michael Cole: And this next match certainly can set the standards for the rest of the main events tonight.
Tazz: Let’s go back and look at the long storied history between these two men.

Finally clips of Batista visiting the graveyard, Undertaker’s lighting “tricks” and much more are shown before the package ends.
I Walk Alone hits across the arena as out to boos steps the Animal, Batista. Batista makes his way down the ramp after setting off his pyro making his way into the ring and taunting the fans which they don’t appreciate. Batista yells at them as he waits in the ring for his opponent to come down the ramp and start the match.
Tony Chimmel: The following contest is the Last Ride Match in which the object is to throw your opponent into the hearse and then drive the hearse off! Introducing first from Washington, D.C., weighing in at 290 pounds he is the “Animal” Batista!
Gong hits across the arena as the arena goes pitch black. Suddenly a lightning bolt strikes down and out comes the Undertaker. Undertaker goes through his trademark entrance taking forever to get down the ramp. He finally stops at the steps and throws his hands up and rolling his eyes back setting off another lightning bolt in the arena. Undertaker takes off his hat and coat and stares Batista in the eyes as the match is almost ready to begin.
Last Ride Match
The Undertaker vs. Batista
The ref calls for the bell and the match is underway. The fans watch as both men stare one another down and then slowly start to circle around one another in the ring. The fans watch as both men get ready to lock up but Batista backs up not ready apparently. Batista then slowly heads back into the middle of the ring and both men lock up ready to get the match underway! Batista and Undertaker both have a struggle grappling with one another but Batista was quick to break that with a knee to the sternum. Batista then proceeds to follow by bringing Undertaker into the corner. The Animal grabs Undertaker’s head preparing to slam it off the turnbuckle but Undertaker resisted and instead threw Batista’s head off the turnbuckle!
Undertaker rares back and throws a hard right hand at the Animal knocking him loopy for a few seconds before raring back and throwing one more. Batista is already finding himself in trouble in this match as Undertaker is already off to a fairly hot start. Undertaker leans against Batista and throws him into the ropes and as Batista charges back at the Phenom, Undertaker gets a boot up but Batista ducks underneath it and charges off the ropes. Batista runs right back at Undertaker but Undertaker hits Batista with the third hard right! Batista falls down onto the mat as Undertaker bends down and picks back up the Animal not giving him a break.
Undertaker quickly picks Batista back up and turns Batista’s arm around with a wrist lock before Undertaker hits Batista with a hard shoulder blocks. Batista yells out in pain at his shoulder as Undertaker continues to do so. Undertaker hits about five shoulder blocks and then drops Batista back down onto the mat as the fans look on as the Undertaker is getting a early advantage here tonight. Undertaker wastes no time as he quickly picks Batista right back up and chunks the Animal into the turnbuckles. Undertaker charges into the corner looking for possibly a clothesline in the corner but Batista moves as Undertaker looks poised to collapse into the turnbuckles but The Phenom was able to prevent himself from colliding into the turnbuckles at the last second.
Batista watches as Undertaker backs out of the corner and Batista hits Undertaker from behind with a spear like maneuver as Undertaker’s chest collides with the turnbuckles! Batista taunts at the Phenom as Undertaker now lies on the mat as Batista looks as if he is going to try and change the momentum of the match. First thing Batista does is look to the outside of the ring and Batista quickly chunks the Undertaker to the outside of the ring. Batista slides to the outside as he looks down at Undertaker and then picks the Phenom back up before ramming Undertaker back first into the barricade! The fans boo as Undertaker grabs at his back but Batista does it again and again and again! Batista rammed Undertaker into the barricade five times total as he looks on at the Undertaker lying on the mat on the outside.
There’s nothing the ref can do about it either considering the fact that anything goes in the match and there is no pin falls, count outs, or submissions. Batista quickly heads back over and picks back up the Undertaker before throwing Undertaker now back first into the steel steps. Batista seems to have a good plan working out as he has decided to focus on the back of the Phenom. Batista looks down at the Undertaker who continues to grab at his back as he knows that he could be in trouble for the rest of the match. Batista quickly picks back up the Undertaker and chunks him back into the ring. Batista is in no hurry because as aforementioned earlier, there are no rules basically in the match. Batista now digs up under the ring and pulls out a steel chair and quickly throws it into the ring and it comes very close to nailing the Undertaker in the ring which Batista surely didn’t mean to do.
Batista slides right back into the ring and walks over grabbing the steel chair and looking down at the Undertaker who is laying stomach first on the mat. Batista lifts the chair up into the air and brings it down crashing onto the back of the Undertaker as Batista looks down at the Undertaker in a rather sadistic look in his eyes. Batista looks back down at the Undertaker before he hits the Phenom once again in the back with the chair. Batista now kicks Undertaker over on his side and attempts to smash Undertaker’s throat by hitting him in the throat with the chair. Batista however was quick to prevent this by grabbing the chair and throwing it off to the side and to the outside of the ring. Batista watches as Undertaker sits back up. Batista runs off the ropes and tries to connect with a Big Boot to Undertaker’s face but Undertaker was able to move out of the way! Batista bounces back off the ropes and right into a Chokeslam from the Phenom! Undertaker looks ready to throw Batista back to the outside of the ring but instead throws him into the corner connecting with the Snake Eyes!
Undertaker grabs Batista by the arm and hops up onto the turnbuckles and walks across the ropes. He leaps off the ropes and connects with Old School as Batista falls down onto the mat. The Undertaker looks ready to take control of the match as he does the throat taunt and then picks Batista up looking for the Tombstone Piledriver! Batista was quick though however to slide off the shoulders of the Phenom and push Undertaker into the ropes. Undertaker turned back around but it was too late as the Animal charged at Undertaker and hit a huge Spear sending both men flying to the outside of the ring! The fans go wild as both Undertaker and Batista are down on the outside of the ring as the fans look on!
Batista has a bit of trouble getting up first but he is able to do so rather quickly as he pulls himself up with help from the ring apron. Batista has a little bit of trouble walking as he shows a small limp but it goes away rather quickly. Batista picks the Undertaker back up and drags him over to the hearse as he throws Undertaker head first into the hearse’s window! The Undertaker falls down on the entrance way carpet as Batista goes to open the back of the hearse! Batista gets the door of the hearse open but Undertaker quickly slams it shut! The Undertaker wants nothing to do with the hearse. Batista kicks Undertaker in the back as the Undertaker is still down on the carpet.
Batista looks back down at the Undertaker and drags him into the ring before throwing Undertaker right back into the ring. Batista quickly slides back into the ring too as he walks back over to Undertaker and kicks him playing mind games with the Phenom. Batista picked Undertaker back up and threw Undertaker into the ropes. The Undertaker comes running back at Batista and ducks underneath a clothesline before bouncing off the ropes again but right into a Spine buster from the Animal. Undertaker grabs at his back immediately as Batista knows that he is continuing to do some damage to the Phenom right now. Batista looks down at the Phenom and quickly thinks of what his next move is going to be.
Batista looks down at the Undertaker and picks Undertaker up, possibly looking for the Batista Bomb but to no avail as Undertaker quickly hit Batista in the gut with a kick. Undertaker watched as Batista bounced off the ropes as Undertaker runs off the ropes himself and ends up connecting with a Running DDT! Undertaker once again grabs at his back as Batista lies there on the mat after having just lost the big advantage he had in the match! Both men lie on the mat for a few seconds before all of a sudden, the Undertaker sits back up! The fans go wild as Undertaker is ready to go ahead and attempt to close out this match! The Undertaker walks back over to Batista and picks him up throwing him on his shoulders and connecting with the Tombstone Piledriver after his second attempt! The fans go wild as Undertaker looks down at Batista and then simply rolls him right to the outside of the ring!
The Undertaker picks Batista back up once again and drags him up to the hearse that is close to the stage. The Undertaker walks over and opens the door of the hearse before throwing Batista inside of the hearse. Undertaker gets ready to close the hearse but Batista kicks the door open and slides to the outside. Batista falls down onto the carpet on the outside of the hearse as Undertaker goes to pick Batista up again to throw him back into the hearse. Undertaker gets Batista almost in there for the second time but this time, a rather large man appears! The “wild” man grabs Undertaker by the head and throws him head first into the window of the hearse. The man yells words at random as he brings the Undertaker down to the ring with him. The man rams Undertaker back first into the steel pole as Batista is down on the outside and seems to have no clue what is going on right now in the ring. The man grabs Undertaker and throws him into the steel steps once again! Suddenly a smaller man walks down the ramp and yells “Umaga!” The man apparently is the handler of this man known as “Umaga” Umaga grabs Undertaker and chunks him into the ring along with the steel chair that Batista used earlier in the match. Umaga throws the Undertaker into the bottom corner as he looks at the Undertaker and charges into the corner connecting with the Samoan Wrecking Ball! Umaga walks over and drags Undertaker out of the corner before throwing him onto his shoulders and connecting with a Samoan Drop onto a steel chair! The fans boo and Batista who is still down on the outside has no clue what is going on! The man on the outside yells at Umaga and grabs a cigar and splits it in half apparently telling Umaga to finish Undertaker off. Umaga grabs Undertaker and hits him in the throat (the Samoan Spike but it’s not known to fans yet what it’s called) as Undertaker falls back down onto the mat! The fans watch on as Umaga grabs Undertaker and chunks him to the outside of the ring as Umaga slides to the outside as well. Umaga drags Undertaker by his shirt and Umaga finally makes it up the ramp.
Batista is sitting back up now and wondering what the hell this strange man is doing but Batista looks down at the Undertaker who pretty much stands no chance now as Batista and Umaga both grab Undertaker and ram him head first into the barricades that the fans are constricted behind in front of the hearse! Batista looks back down at the Undertaker and yells at him “Do you like that” “Will you survive now Undertaker” as Batista kicks Undertaker in the stomach rather hard. Batista and Umaga both pick Undertaker up and as the manager opens the door, both Umaga and Batista chunk the Undertaker into the hearse with both men closing it shut and keeping it shut so the manager of Umaga can drive it off! The hearse is driven off into the back as Batista and Umaga both look at each other as Umaga makes his way to the back of the arena.
Tony Chimmel: Here is your winner ….Batista!!!
Match Length: 13 Minutes, 25 Seconds (Under 150 Words = 1 Min.)
Michael Cole: Wow! This man Umaga has made one hell of an impact here tonight.
Tazz: We need to hurry up and get the cameras back there to see what he has planned for the Undertaker.
The cameras are brought backstage quickly and it shows the manager of Umaga step out of the vehicle. Umaga walks over and grabs a rather large brick and throws it onto the accelerator. (This was obviously a pre-taped segment earlier in the day) Suddenly the hearse starts driving fast and it ends up crashing into the production truck! The front of the hearse goes inwards and the fans automatically assume that Undertaker is “out of it” as he couldn’t have “survived” that crash. The fans wonder what the hell is next and just who this “Umaga” is.
Michael Cole: Oh my god!
Tazz: This wild man has just single handedly taken out the Undertaker. I can’t believe what I have just seen!
We head backstage once again as the screen turns black. Suddenly a sunny logo comes up on the screen with the roman numerals XXIII
Narrator: It’s time for fun in the sun….
A quick video plays of superstars splashing each other in a pool (similar to the real life SummerSlam 2006 video)
Narrator: This upcoming year WrestleMania 23….
The WrestleMania logo flashes across the screen once again.
Narrator: Emanates from the Sunshine State…
Videos of the Florida beaches are shown and just random people playing on the beaches.
Narrator: WrestleMania comes to Florida….
The WrestleMania 23 logo comes across the screen once again before the date April 1 comes across.
Narrator: WWE Presents WrestleMania 23….
Narrator: Where it’s “fun in the sun”
The video ends shortly afterwards as we head backstage. Backstage standing by is Kristal once again and this time with JBL.
Kristal: Hi. I’m standing by right now with JBL and JBL, we must all know what you’re thinking heading into your title match.
JBL: What am I supposed to be thinking Kristal? Not only is this THE most important match of my life but it’s got my career on the line too? This is unfair and this is just another one of those injustices that Smackdown GM Theodore Long has brought upon the brand. It is WRONG that I have to put my career on the line when Mark Henry and Kurt Angle has nothing to lose. WRONG.
Kristal: But you did say th…
JBL: Oh shut up! Sure I said I’d do anything but you just had to know that Teddy Long would take that to heart right? Of course. He had a plan all along to get rid of me but whenever I win the World-Heavyweight Championship, I’ve got a plan to get rid of him!
Kristal: What if you don’t win the title though JBL?
JBL: There is no what if’s around here Kristal. It’s just WHEN. And tonight I finally take back my title. I finally continue my climb up the ranks of Smackdown. I finally can break my reign once again of being the longest title holder in Smackdown history. I can finally prove to not only you but all of my fans that chant my name in every arena that I go in that I am a WRESTLING GOD!
JBL: Tonight Kristal I’ve got something to prove…
JBL: I’ve got to prove that I am the World-Heavyweight Champion!
JBL walks off as we cut down to ringside quickly.
Michael Cole: JBL does indeed have something to prove and something to try and preserve too. His job that is!
Tazz: Not only that but his reputation and to me, I think it’s not fair that JBL has this much on the line while the other two have NOTHING at all to worry about other than Angle losing his title.
Somebody’s Gonna Get It hits across the arena as out steps the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry. Henry makes his way down the ramp as he rolls into the ring and pounds on his chest, Henry gets into the ring and climbs on the turnbuckles as he looks across the arena as the fans boo him. Henry gets down on the mat, waiting for his opponents as he is ready to start the match.
Tony Chimmel: The following contest is a Triple Threat Match in which anything goes and it is for the World-Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first from Silsbee, Texas weighing in at 380 pounds, he is the “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry!
Longhorn hits across the arena as out rides the white limo with the longhorns sticking out of it. The chauffeur gets out and opens the door for JBL as he steps out in his trademark red, white, and blue jacket! JBL makes his way down the entrance way doing the Texas two-step on his way to the ring briefly. JBL gets into the ring and holds his hands up in the Longhorn position to which the fans don’t take too kind to.
Tony Chimmel: And the other challenger from New York, New York weighing in at 290 pounds, he is John Bradshaw Layfield!
Medal Remix hits across the arena as out steps the World-Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle to a HUGE pop as the champ steps out and sets his pyro off. Angle makes his way down the ramp, wearing his hooded warm up jacket as he flips the hood back and slides into the ring, climbing onto the turnbuckles holding his title high. Angle hands his title over to Chimmel as Angle circles the ring, watching as JBL and Henry stare at him.
Triple Threat Match
Kurt Angle (c) vs. JBL vs. Mark Henry
The ref calls for the bell as all three men circle around the ring at one another as JBL and Henry both look at one another. Henry and JBL both look at one another and charge at Angle. Angle quickly side steps JBL but Henry runs at Angle and splashes him in the corner. Henry and JBL both decide they are going to team up to take on the champion, then fight over one another for the title. Henry and JBL both go to Irish whip Angle into the ropes but Angle explodes off the ropes with a shoulder block taking JBL down and then takes Henry down with a chop block!
Angle starts to stomp away at the leg of Henry, apparently trying to prepare the World’s Strongest Man for the Ankle Lock later on in the match. Angle gets down on the mat and toys around with Henry as he spins around and locks on a headlock on Henry. Angle has Henry down on the mat, trying to wrench away at his neck before JBL quickly comes from behind and stomps away at the back of Angle. JBL drags Angle back onto his feet before he drives him back first into the turnbuckles.
JBL rares back and throws a right hand at Angle but Angle blocks it with his left arm before he throws a right at JBL. Angle is backing JBL up out of the corner before he leans against JBL and tosses Layfield into the ropes. JBL runs off the ropes right back at Angle but Angle ducks underneath a clothesline attempt from Angle before he runs right back into the hands of the champion! Angle goes to pick JBL up, but JBL quickly hits Angle right in the back of the head with his elbow.
JBL quickly grabs Angle and slams him back down onto the mat with a Scoop Powerslam. Mark Henry gets back onto his feet and walks back over to Angle, putting his foot against the throat of the World-Heavyweight Champion. JBL gives Henry a nudge telling Henry to let him take care of this. JBL drags Angle back up and hits him with a hard right sending the champ back reeling onto the mat. Henry then pushes JBL out of the way before Henry gets back onto the attack and takes down Angle with a hard right to the back of the head. Angle grabs his head on the mat as we see JBL and Henry get into a shoving match!
Henry quickly takes advantage once he ends up throwing JBL to the outside of the ring. Henry rolls right onto the outside as he walks over and picks JBL up before Irish whipping the New Yorker into the steel steps back first. JBL clutches at his back as Henry walks over and places his foot against the throat of JBL! JBL is able to break the hold quickly as Henry picks JBL back up and rams JBL back first into the steel pole! Henry doesn’t waste any time as he throws JBL back into the ring and makes the first cover of the match.
Angle is quick to break the count as he hits Henry across the back breaking up the pin fall count. Angle starts stomping away at the back of the World’s Strongest Man but Henry gets back onto his feet and clubs Angle in the back of the head with both hands. Henry sends Angle flying off into the ropes but as Angle comes back, he catches Henry and wraps his hands around the neck of the monster as he has a sleeper hold locked in on Henry. Angle is wrenching away at the neck of Henry, trying his best to force the monster into submission.
Angle has Henry down on the mat and Henry seems to be struggling a bit but he slowly starts to make it back onto his feet. As he does, Henry ends up getting back onto his feet and ramming Angle back first into the turnbuckles! Henry quickly steps back from Angle before he picks the champion back up and slams him back first into the turnbuckles. Angle holds at his back as the World’s Strongest Man is doing a good job early on at wearing down the champion.
Henry gets back to business whenever he walks back over and drags Angle back up onto his feet and sends Angle flying into the opposing turnbuckle. Henry looks ready to charge into the opposing ropes but of nowhere, JBL hits Henry with a shoulder block which sends Henry stumbling to the outside! JBL then quickly runs over to Angle and hits him with a clothesline in the corner as Angle hits his head on the back of the turnbuckle. JBL then quickly scoops Angle up and throws the champion onto the ropes rather quickly as he climbs onto the middle rope and brings the champion crashing down with him with a fall away Slam! JBL hooks the leg of Angle, possibly looking for an early shot at gaining the title.
Angle kicks out knowing what is at stake, that being his title. JBL looks disappointed that Angle was able to kick out of the hold but gets back to work after giving the boot to Angle a few times. JBL grabs Angle, looking to send Angle into the ropes but as he does, Mark Henry jumps onto the ropes. Angle is able to reverse the Irish whip as JBL looks ready to run into Henry but Henry hits JBL right square in the face. Henry slides into the ring as he picks JBL up and throws JBL to the outside of the ring with amazing strength! This however gives Angle time as Angle chop blocks Henry from behind once again, trying to take the behemoth down.
Henry falls down onto one knee as Angle gets right up in the face of Henry and hits him with repeated European Uppercuts stunning the challenger. Henry is still down on one knee as Angle follows that up by hitting Henry right square in the head with a huge headbutt sending the World’s Strongest Man rattling for a moment. Angle then quickly pulls himself back up on the mat before he grabs Henry, possibly looking for a Belly to Back Suplex but as he does, Henry brings Angle with him running into the ropes as Angle flies to the outside of the ring. Henry watches as both JBL and Angle are down and knowing that anything goes, Henry drags himself right on to the outside of the ring.
Henry walks over to the Spanish announce table, stripping everything off the table as he quickly moves a monitor and hits Angle right across the head with the monitor. The champion holds his head as Henry quickly walks back over and picks Angle back up before placing Angle up on the Spanish announce table. Henry looks ready to drag himself up on the table but JBL clubs Henry from behind. Henry shoves JBL off, but JBL won’t have anything of it as JBL throws repeated rights at Henry. Angle gets back off his feet and takes down Henry with a double leg takedown sending Henry down onto the mat.
Angle and JBL both nod at one another and apparently are in agreeance for the first time ever. Angle and JBL both pick up the World’s Strongest Man, a tough task as they aren’t able to hold him for too long considering how big of a behemoth he is. Henry budges at first but JBL and Angle are able to get Henry lifted into the air and bring him crashing down through the Spanish announce table with a Vertical Suplex! The crowd is going nuts as the World’s Strongest Man is laid out on the outside. JBL and Angle don’t stop there though as they get back to brawling now, despite their being some agreeance there for all of those twenty seconds.
JBL and Angle are going at it as Angle takes the advantage by driving JBL back first into the ring. Angle looks to throw some more rights at JBL but JBL slides Angle into the ring. JBL slides himself into the ring but is met with boots from Angle! The World-Heavyweight Champion, despite getting a bad start is getting back into the match now as he ends up Irish whipping JBL into the ropes. JBL explodes off the ropes at Angle as Angle quickly avoids JBL, then grabs him from behind and hits a Belly to Back Suplex sending JBL flying halfway across the ring! Angle quickly scurries over and grabs JBL, throwing him back over onto his back and getting the cover.
That won’t be enough tonight as JBL is able to kick out and keep the match alive! Angle looks up, even knowing the match is early. Angle gets down onto the mat, wrapping his arms and legs around JBL, locking in a Cross face Chicken wing! It’s a rare move from Angle but VERY effective when used rights. Shades of old Bob Backlund as Angle is wrenching away at JBL, doing his very best to try and wear down the bigger man as Angle is at a size disadvantage tonight.
Angle continues with the hold being locked in and JBL is having trouble to try and maneuver his way out of it but Angle quickly breaks the hold as he felt it wasn’t really doing much and it wasn’t intended to be locked in long anyways. Angle gets back onto his feet, daring his challenger and long time arch-nemesis to get back up onto his feet. JBL doesn’t get up so Angle pulls JBL back up. Angle goes to wrap his limbs around JBL but JBL ends up driving Angle back first into the turnbuckles. Angle grabs at his back as JBL quickly hits Angle with an elbow to the face. JBL looks to the outside to see that Henry is still down and probably will be for a while longer.
JBL knows he needs to take the advantage he has while Henry is down. JBL pulls Angle to the middle of the ring, with his head tucked underneath JBL’s armpit as JBL spins Angle around and connects with a Swinging Neck breaker. JBL has a little trouble at first trying to get to Angle but as he stumbles around, he is able to throw an arm over Angle and possibly get the title if he is lucky.
A neck breaker is not going to cut it, at least with Kurt Angle as the champion that is as he is able to kick out and avoid the loss. Angle stumbles back onto his feet but JBL is already back onto his as he quickly throws Angle back in between his armpits. JBL grabs Angle, looking to run off the ropes with him but Angle shoves JBL off into the ropes. JBL comes running back at Angle and sends the champ back down onto the mat with a shoulder block! Layfield watches as Angle stumbles back onto his feet but walks right into a DDT from JBL which connects! JBL looks across the arena for a moment before throwing Angle right back onto his back once again, hoping for another chance at the gold.
That isn’t going to be enough either apparently. Angle is proving to be one tough S.O.B. JBL however still pissed off drags himself right back to the outside of the ring. JBL looks underneath the ring and what does he find, a classic steel chair and a bull rope! Yes a bull rope is underneath the ring! Apparently JBL had something to do with that being placed underneath the ring as he cracks a smile as he walks over to Angle and wraps the bull rope across one hand of Angle and then ties the other part of the rope to the steel pole! Angle tried to fight JBL off but JBL kept kicking Angle.
So now Angle is connected to the turnbuckles with a bull rope holding him. JBL grabs the steel chair, taunting Angle in the process with it as he BLASTS Angle right across the head with the steel chair! Angle has taken one hell of a beating all ready as JBL watches him turn onto his back! JBL shows no remorse of course as he lifts the chair into the air and hits Angle in the back hard three times! JBL drops the chair as he kicks Angle and walks right on Angle’s back as the champion lets out a large scream as he is clearly in agony and pain right now after those brutal steel chair shots.
JBL is about to cover but opts not to as he grabs the rest of the bull rope that is securing Angle to the ropes and wraps it around Angle’s neck! JBL is choking the hell out of Angle with the damn bull rope as the referee is standing back and he can’t really do anything. JBL is really not giving a damn at this point as he has to save his career by winning the title pretty much tonight or he loses his job! JBL gets back onto his feet, kicking Angle right square in the face as the champion, already down on the mat falls face first into the mat once again! JBL walks over and unties the bull rope from where Angle is connected that is and grabs the rope lifting it into the air.
JBL, with the rope in hand and in the air swings and connects with three hard shots across the back of Angle. Angle lets out a loud yelp as his back is red now, with the steel chair shots from earlier apparently playing a big part in it too. JBL watches and looks around the arena as the fans don’t play too kind to him as he picks Angle back up and throws him between his legs! JBL throws up the longhorn symbol as he goes and lifts Angle into the air, bringing him crashing down with the Sheer drop power bomb! Angle’s back hits the mat hard as JBL quickly hooks and gets the cover.
WAIT! Henry pulls JBL to the outside of the ring! Yes, Mark Henry is back into the match now after about a five minute break from being taken out via the Spanish announce table earlier in the match. Henry drags JBL to the outside of the ring. As Henry stands JBL up, he ends up throwing JBL into the barricade. Henry throws JBL’s head off the barricade before he walks over and grabs the bell! Henry quickly hits JBL in the sternum with the bell as he drops it and JBL falls down onto the mat. Henry watches as he walks over and grabs the steel chair that was in the ring in the corner.
Henry lifts the chair into the air and hits JBL across the back, yelling that is his revenge for what he did to him earlier. JBL is down on the outside now as Henry slides back into the ring and watches as Angle is still down from that power bomb a minute ago. Henry quickly watches as Angle is still down on the mat and Henry runs off the ropes and hits the Death From Above as Angle is really starting to lose it now. Henry is wearing and breaking down Angle and Angle really needs to find a way to get back into the match if he wants to try and win somehow.
Henry decides not to cover as he drags Angle back onto his feet and quickly locks in a Bearhug, wrenching away at the sternum and the bad back of Angle as of right now. This is also “hurting” Angle’s ribs which came into play about three weeks ago whenever Henry gave Angle a huge World’s Strongest Splash. Angle is taking one hell of a beating tonight but it doesn’t seem he is going to give up right here tonight! Angle starts to try and fight his way out of the Bearhug as Henry is going to do everything in his power to try and keep the hold locked in for as long as he can!
Angle starts to fight his way out of the move as he clubs Henry in the back of the head but Henry keeps the hold locked in! Angle is doing his best and doing whatever it takes to try and break out of the hold! Angle is not going to lose tonight as he is able to hit Henry in the back of the head with both hands as Henry is forced to break the hold! This angers the World’s Strongest Man as Henry charges at Angle but Angle quickly moves and trips Henry face first into the mat with a Drop toe hold!
Angle holds his back, still a little discontent with the fact his back is bothering him but it seems to wear away now. Angle gets back onto his feet, grabbing Henry up in the process as he goes for and hits a weak looking version of a German Suplex. This is mainly due to Angle’s back hurting and bothering him but it’s still effective. Angle keeps the arms locked in and drags Henry back up and connects with a second of the German Suplexes. Angle finally pulls Henry back up after stalling for a moment and with a sudden boost of energy hits the strongest of the three German Suplexes as Henry is shaken up! Angle having lost a lot of his energy there quickly throws an arm over Henry.
Henry gets his shoulder up! Henry wasn’t about to lose it there as Angle watches Henry kick out and this could be the bad break Angle didn’t want. Angle pulls himself back up onto his feet, via the ropes as he starts stomping in the ring. The fans know what is coming as Angle looks around the arena and pulls down the straps! Angle dares Henry to get back onto his feet and as the World’s Strongest Man pulls himself back up, he backs right into Angle who tries lifting Henry into the air for the Angle Slam but from behind, JBL clubs Angle in the back. Henry and Angle both fall down onto the mat as JBL quickly grabs Angle, forcing Angle to stand. Henry is able to get back to his feet rather quickly too.
Henry is back onto his feet now as he turns around and has no clue JBL is back into the match now. JBL explodes off the ropes and charges at Angle, looking for his finisher, the Clothesline from Hell but Angle ducks and Angle watches as JBL ends up connecting with the move sending the World’s Strongest Man flying to the outside of the ring! JBL watches, not too worried about sending Henry to the outside but JBL forgets Angle is standing right behind him! JBL backs up right into an Angle Slam! Angle decides not to cover but instead gets down onto the mat and grabs the ankle of JBL!
Angle has locked in the Ankle Lock as JBL is squirming for the ropes, trying his best to break free of the hold. JBL is in extreme pain right now as he is literally scratching and crawling the mat to try and get to the ropes. JBL gets awful close but he watches as Angle, down on one knee now after taking one hell of a beating drags JBL closer to the middle of the ring. It’s pretty much downhill from there for Angle as he watches on as JBL lifts his hand into the air. JBL has a choice to make as he grabs at his head, dying to get to the ropes. He knows it’s his job or the title. JBL quickly keeps on trying to grab the ropes and as he reaches out for the final time, his arm slips and his hand misses the ropes! Angle watches on as JBL lifts his hand into the air one final time and this time brings it crashing down onto the mat as JBL has tapped out and the match is over!

As he prepares to step into the ring with his former good friend, the Game, tonight. Flair and HHH both give each other a look, as Hunter waits for Ric to get into the ring.

Steel Cage Showdown
Team Michaels vs. Team McMahon
The ref calls for the bell as both Triple H and Flair circle one another in the ring. Both look above at the roof above them tonight as they are trapped in that ring tonight. Triple H and Flair both circle around each other one time before they lock up. Hunter takes the advantage first by backing Flair into the corner. Hunter rares back to throw a chop at Flair but Flair gets out of the way. Flair returns the favor by chopping Hunter hard across the chest. Flair then quickly grabs Triple H, sending him flying into the ropes. As Hunter comes back, he knocks down Flair with a huge shoulder block.
Hunter jumps right over Flair before running right off the turnbuckles once again. As Hunter comes back, he looks to drop an elbow on Flair but Flair rolled out of the way. Flair points to his head, trying to get inside the mind of Triple H early on in the match. Triple H is on one knee as he slaps the mat in fury before getting back onto his feet. Flair runs at Triple H, trying to take him down with a clothesline but Hunter ducks underneath it, and then grabs Flair’s head before slamming it off the turnbuckles. As Flair rebounds off the turnbuckles, Hunter catches him with a hard right to the face.
Flair plays this off, falling face first to the mat with a plop. Hunter picks up Flair and throws him off the ropes once again but as Flair rebounds, Hunter catches him with an elbow to the face. Triple H walks back over to his former friend before pulling Flair back onto his feet. Triple H turns Flair around, holding his neck on his shoulder as he brings Flair crashing down onto the mat with a Falling Neck breaker! The fans watch as Hunter continues to break down Flair in the ring in the early going of the match. Triple H rolls over onto his feet, knowing he can’t win until all of the opponents are in the ring.
Triple H starts teasing and kicking Flair, daring him to get back up onto his feet. Triple H pulls Flair back up onto his feet once again before Irish whipping Flair into the turnbuckles. Triple H charges into the corner as Flair hits the turnbuckles back first and he connects with a huge clothesline to Flair in the corner. Triple H grabs the face of Flair, rubbing it into the steel cage, asking him if he likes it. Flair lets out yelps of pain as the fans start booing Triple H. The camera cuts over to see Mr. McMahon laughing at ringside, yelling at Flair “How do you like that Ric?”
Triple H grabs Ric before Irish whipping him into the opposing turnbuckles. Hunter follows it up with once again, another clothesline into the corner taking down Flair once again. Flair is having trouble early on in the match and with another member of Team McMahon coming in next he might be in trouble! Hunter watches as a near lifeless Flair falls down onto the mat. Triple H kicks him once again, showing that he isn’t taking Flair serious. Triple H pulls Flair back up onto his feet, holding his head between his shoulders as he clubs Flair hard in the head with some rights. Triple H then follows this up with a DDT bringing Flair’s head crashing down into the mat! Triple H rolls onto his side, and sees that the clock is counting down until his first teammate makes their way out.
A buzzer goes off signaling that it has been three minutes so far. Suddenly…
Burn in my Light hits and Randy Orton comes jogging down to the ring. Hunter cracks a smile as Orton looks up underneath the ring. Orton grabs a steel chair as he steps into the cage as the referee opens the door for him. Orton walks over as both Hunter and Orton eye one another and see that their former Evolution partner, Ric Flair is down on the mat. Orton tells Hunter to hold Ric up and Triple H walks over and picks up Flair. Orton lifts the steel chair into the air and swings but Flair ducks and misses! Orton lays out his former Evolution mentor, as Orton can’t believe he just hit Triple H!
Orton goes to help Triple H back onto his feet but from behind, Flair hits Orton with a low blow and this gives Flair a major break early on in the match. On the outside, McMahon is steaming as Orton just entered and Flair managed to turn the tide of the match in seconds. All three men are still down on the mat, as the referee can’t do anything, as there are no count outs. Flair pulls himself over to the ropes, pulling himself back up onto his feet slowly. Flair stumbles on his feet a little as he walks back over to Orton and grabs the steel chair.
Flair places the steel chair around Orton’s foot. Flair gets a good reaction from the crowd, as they seem to know what Flair is going to do right now. Flair makes his way off the ropes, before delivering a knee drop onto Orton’s leg that was wrapped around the steel chair. Orton rolls around the ring with the chair coming off his leg as Flair lets out a big WOOO! As the crowd is getting behind Flair. Flair walks back over and pulls the chair up before he places the chair on Triple H’s leg. Flair comes off the ropes once again delivering the same knee drop he did to Orton. Hunter rolls around the ring holding his leg as Flair gets back up onto his feet.
Flair walks back over, pulling Orton back up onto his feet before he sends the former champion flying into the turnbuckles. Flair walks over to Orton and rares back hitting Orton with a knife-edge chop! Orton however counters back with his own chop and this continues on until Flair goes on a streak, hitting Orton with five consecutive knife-edge chops lighting up the chest of the Legend Killer. After Flair finishes hitting Orton with the Knife-Edge chops, he grabs Orton and Irish whips him into the ropes. Flair charges at Orton but Orton gets a knee up as Flair runs stomach first into Orton’s knee.
Orton stands around Flair, stomping away at the leg of Flair, trying to wear down Flair so he can’t apply the Figure Four Leg Lock tonight. McMahon is on the outside clapping that his team has gotten the advantage back for now. Orton grabs Flair, pulling him up off the mat before hitting a Scoop Powerslam. Orton looks down at Flair and looks to return the favor from earlier as Orton runs off the ropes and hits a Knee drop onto the leg of Flair! Orton makes his way over to the ropes in the corner. The Legend Killer has set himself up on the top rope, looking ready to jump at the Nature Boy. Flair gets back onto his feet and so does Triple H at this time. Orton looks ready to leap off the top rope but all of a sudden…
The buzzer goes off once again signaling a new entry…
Sexy Boy hits across the arena to a loud pop as Shawn Michaels comes running down the ramp into the ring. Mr. McMahon has a temper tantrum seeing that Michaels is this early on in the match. Michaels quickly slides into the cage and fights off Orton as Orton ran at him first. Michaels and Triple H both come face to face in the middle of the ring as Flair is standing by Michaels right now, watching the stare down. Flair walks over to Orton, striking Orton with some rights on the mat as it is now on between Michaels and Triple H!
Michaels threw the first punch and both men find themselves brawling right now with Michaels hitting Triple H with some pretty hard rights to the face. The referee gets in between both men, trying to break the fight apart but he isn’t successful as Michaels once again pounces on Triple H, this time with a Lou Thesz Press hitting Triple H as hard as he can with his huge rights! Michaels gets back onto his feet and grabs Triple H with one hand and rams Triple H’s head into the steel cage! Triple H falls down onto the mat as Michaels stomps away at the Game, doing his best to wear down Hunter early on in the match.
The camera cuts over to Orton and Flair and shows that Flair is making his way onto the top rope! This can’t be good and it’s not as Orton shakes the ropes and Flair falls back first into the cage and then lands hard on the ropes! Orton makes his way onto the middle rope, lifting Flair into the air! The fans boo as Orton lifts Flair up and brings the Nature Boy crashing down onto the mat with a Superplex! Both men are down in the middle of the ring and Orton knows he can’t win the match right now. We head back over to see Hunter and Michaels.
Michaels has pulled Triple H back up onto his feet as he throws Triple H back first into the turnbuckles. Michaels rams Triple H sternum first into the turnbuckles hard. Michaels grabs Triple H and sends him flying into the ropes. Triple H comes running back at HBK but Michaels ducks underneath a clothesline attempt from the Game only to come running right back into a High Knee from the Game, ala Harley Race! The fans boo as Triple H falls onto the mat and now all four men are down on the mat, with Triple H and Flair having taken probably the biggest beatings of the match early on.
Mr. McMahon is on the outside; yelling orders at Triple H to get back up and take Shawn Michaels out of the equation early on. Triple H has some trouble getting up but is fine after that. Triple H follows his commands as he rams HBK head first into a side of the steel cage. Triple H drags a groggy Michaels to another side of the cage before once again throwing him into the steel cage! This continues as Triple H walks back over to the side with the door before ramming Michaels’s head first into the cage for the third time! Michaels can’t take this anymore but he does as Hunter brings HBK to the side that McMahon is on! Triple H throws Michaels one more time into the cage as he then rubs his face into the cage! The camera moves in to reveal a bloody Michaels, as he is the first man to be open tonight.
The buzzer goes off for the third time, throwing off Triple H, as he wasn’t really expecting anybody this early once again.
Just Close Your Eyes plays throughout the crowd as Captain Charisma, Christian makes his way down to the ring. Christian is now the third member of Team McMahon to be entering the ring. Christian gets into the ring as the door has been opened once again to allow Christian into the ring. Christian walks over to Orton and Flair and stomps away at the Nature Boy. Christian and Orton both look at one another and pick up the Nature Boy before holding him in the air. Christian and the Legend Killer then bring Flair crashing down with a Superplex onto the steel chair in the middle of the ring! McMahon is as excited as his team is taking a huge advantage right now as they once again have a numbers advantage.
Christian and Orton both look down at Flair as we can see Triple H toying with a bloody Michaels in the corner of the ring. Triple H has Michaels sat up in the corner turnbuckles, yelling at Michaels. Triple H quickly sends Michaels flying into the opposing turnbuckles as Michaels hits the corner pretty hard. Triple H comes charging into the corner at HBK but Michaels gets his boot up as Triple H runs right into it. Triple H turns around, holding his head for a quick bit but as he turns around, HBK gets a quick sudden boost of energy as he hits the Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere! It doesn’t matter though as there are no pin falls right now as Michaels falls down onto the mat and that leaves Christian and Orton against Flair right now in the ring.
We suddenly see Christian pull Flair back onto his feet as Orton and Christian both Irish whip Flair into the ropes. Flair holds onto the ropes as Christian charges at Flair but Flair sidesteps Christian and throws him into the steel cage headfirst! Christian springs off the cage and back onto the mat as Orton charges at Flair but Flair trips up Orton with a drop toe hold forcing Orton face first into the mat. Flair quickly wraps his legs around Orton’s looking to lock in the Figure Four Leg Lock and he is successful in doing so! Flair is wrenching away at the legs of Orton, doing whatever he can to try and force Orton out of the match early.
Flair puts his hands back and yells at Orton, even though should Orton tap out, it won’t matter. Flair has Orton all by himself now and he has the Figure Four cinched in! The crowd is going wild as Orton begins to tap out but it has no meaning considering the fact that all the team members must be in the ring for the victory. Flair continues to try and wrench away at Orton’s legs but Christian breaks it up with a knee to the back. Michaels is back on his feet now as he quickly walks over and hits Christian with some hard rights. Michaels follows it up by Irish whipping Christian into the ropes. HBK charges into the corner at Michaels and hits a Body Splash in the corner! Michaels then drags Christian and throws him back down on the mat. HBK walks over to the ropes, knowing that it’s time for a new partner to enter.
The buzzer goes off for the fourth time and out comes the next partner for Team Michaels, John Cena! Cena rushes down the ramp, sliding into the ring as the cage was opened waiting for him. Cena walks over to Triple H and starts pounding on the man that was down via Sweet Chin Music earlier in the match. Cena quickly pulls Hunter back onto his feet before sending Triple H reeling into the ropes. Triple H comes back at Cena but Cena was quick to catch him with a flying shoulder block sending the Game back down onto the mat.
Cena rolls back over and walks over to Michaels as he nods to Michaels. Cena and Michaels both then lift Orton and Christian into the air simultaneously. Both Cena and HBK let the blood rush to Orton and Christian’s head as they show off their impressive strength in the process before both men bring Orton and Christian crashing down onto the mats with the Vertical Suplexes. Cena gets back onto his feet and sees that Hunter is getting back up before he runs over and hits the Throwback onto Triple H sending the Game back down onto the mat.
The crowd cheers for Cena as he has came into the match and made an immediate impact already even though he’s only been in for a minute. Cena, Flair, and Michaels all look at one another and suddenly get an idea! The fans cheer for Team Michaels as they all walk over to their respective opponents on the mat. Flair wraps his legs around Christian locking in the Figure Four Leg Lock for the second time in minutes, Cena quickly locks in the STFU on Triple H and then Shawn Michaels applies a Boston Crab to Orton! All three members of Team Michaels have a submission move locked in for a brief few seconds as they break the hold shortly after.
Cena walks over to Triple H and throws him into the corner. Cena rares back looking to throw some rights at Triple H but Hunter caught him quick with a boot down low! Team McMahon is looking to make their comeback now late in the match and they just might. Hunter walks over to Michaels and takes him down with a chop block from behind. Flair turns around right into a huge right hand from Hunter followed by a headbutt. Hunter then quickly grabs Flair and sends him flying into the ropes via Irish Whip before Flair runs right into a Harley Race like High Knee! The fans boo as Hunter dares anybody to mess with him now.
Hunter walks over to the side that McMahon is on and he asks for McMahon to give him something. McMahon walks over to the cage and demands that the referee’s open the door or they will be fired! The referees take the command from McMahon as they open the cage. McMahon looks up underneath the ring underneath the cage and pulls out, a SLEDGEHAMMER! McMahon slides the sledgehammer in the ring to Triple H as he grabs the sledgehammer and lines it up for Flair! Triple H watches Flair get back up and he rams the sledgehammer right across the head of Flair. Flair rolls over as the camera cuts in to reveal that he has been busted open! Flair is the second man to be busted open but we head back over to HHH who watches as Michaels charges at him but Triple H takes an already bloodied HBK down with a sledgehammer shot! He holds the sledgehammer high as….
The buzzer goes off for the fifth time tonight and it brings out Edge, the last partner for Team McMahon! And what a time to come in at considering the fact that Team McMahon is dominating. Edge slides into the ring quickly and sees that Cena is getting back onto his feet but Edge quickly greets him with a huge Spear! Edge is already making an impact as we see now that Orton and Christian are getting back onto their feet. Edge and Christian both have a brief stare down, teasing a quick tag reunion in the ring. Edge throws Cena onto his shoulders as Cena is down from that Spear and Christian makes his way onto the top turnbuckles. Christian waits and then leaps off the ropes, dropkicking Cena right off the shoulders of Edge! The fans boo seeing that it’s blatantly obvious that Team McMahon has major odds on winning the match now.
McMahon is on the outside cheering on his team and doesn’t acknowledge the fact that his team has four members right now while Team Michaels has three and two are bloodied up already! Triple H walks back over to his nemesis, Shawn Michaels as he watches Michaels try and pull himself back up on Triple H! Triple H toys with Michaels as he slaps the bloodied man and Michaels falls back down onto the mat. Triple H continues to toy with HBK as he hits Michaels with some hard rights in the forehead where Michaels was busted open earlier in the match. Triple H then picks Michaels up but Michaels pulls a quick one as he grabs the sledgehammer that was beside Triple H and pulls the sledgehammer up between Triple H’s legs causing it to hit Triple H’s groin.
The crowd is going wild as the team captain for Team Michaels has just shifted the momentum, at least a bit than it was before. Edge and Orton both walk over to Michaels and Irish whip him off the ropes. Michaels leaps off the ropes taking down Edge with a flying forearm before Orton charges at Michaels. Michaels however moves out of Orton’s way as Orton runs straight into the turnbuckles sternum first! Michaels completely forgot about Christian and that’s not good because Christian ambushes Michaels from behind. Christian continues the beat down on HBK as he is the only member standing right now on his team.
Christian picks Michaels back up before he plants HBK with a Spike DDT. The fans boo Christian as he rolls Michaels over and then goes to help his brother Edge back up. Christian tells Edge to hold Michaels up for him and Edge does so. Christian hits Michaels with some hard rights to the stomach as Michaels grasps at his stomach. Christian tells Edge to let go and at that time, Christian quickly hits Michaels with a Reverse DDT! Christian then walks over and grabs a steel chair, the one that has been in the ring for a while now and gets Edge to hold Michaels up! The fans boo as they know what is coming, the famous One Man Con-chair-to! Christian rares back to swing the chair but Michaels ducks underneath and he hits his brother with the chair instead! Edge falls down onto the mat, holding his head in pain as Michaels is quick to take advantage of the situation by hitting a Swinging Neck breaker bringing Christian down to his feet. Michaels stands over Christian right now but he forgot about Randy Orton who runs behind Michaels and plants HBK with a DDT before we hear…
The buzzers go off for the sixth and final time and we all know what that means! Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way down the ramp, hauling ass on his four wheeler. He quickly jumps off the four wheeler before jumping into the ring and leaping onto Orton with a Lou Thesz Press! Austin is not holding back, hitting Orton with hard lefts and rights and doing anything he can to try and help his team get back into the match. Austin gets back up off the mat and raises his two middle fingers in the air as the crowd lets out huge “Hell Yeah!” chants! Austin walks back over to Orton and drops an elbow onto Orton! The fans chant Austin’s name as he has changed the momentum of the match as far as right now goes.
Austin watches as Edge gets back onto his feet but he runs right into a clothesline from the Texas Rattlesnake. Austin then turns around to see Christian pull himself up on the turnbuckles in the corner! Christian looks around and then panics when he sees Austin staring him down! Austin charges into the corner hitting Christian with a clothesline and not letting back. Austin is beating the hell out of Christian as he is mounting Captain Charisma with some hard lefts and rights in the corner. Austin then grabs Christian by the head and drags his head against the steel cage on all four sides which opens Christian up and he is the first person to be bleeding on Team McMahon!
We then head back into the corner to see Cena getting back onto his feet, having played off the Spear for a bit before he runs over to Triple H. Cena throws some rights at Triple H but Hunter counters them by sending Cena flying into the ropes! As Cena comes back, he runs right into a major Spinebuster! Triple H doesn’t waste any time knowing that now he can pin for the win.
Ric Flair breaks it up by hitting Hunter right across the back! Flair watches as Triple H gets back onto his feet as Flair lights up Triple H with some more knife-edge chops. Flair bounces off the ropes, running behind Triple H and knocking him back onto the mat with a Chop Block! The camera cuts over to see Edge and Orton double teaming on Michaels in the corner before Flair walks over and begins to chop away at Edge. This leaves Orton teamed with Michaels, Edge with Flair, Cena with Triple H, and Austin with Christian. The camera cuts back over to Austin and Christian brawling which shows Austin stompin’ a mud hole on Christian in the corner, getting revenge from what Christian did to him this past Monday on Raw. Quickly we head back over to Edge and Flair as Flair has Edge on the cage tangled up in the ropes. This is not good for the Rated R Superstar as Flair is throwing more of his trademark knife-edge chops and the referee has to come over and get Edge untangled from the ropes.
Triple H is now back onto his feet as he pulls Cena back up as Cena is holding his back, still feeling a little pain from that Spinebuster earlier. Triple H grabs Cena before hitting a falling neck breaker. Triple H walks over to the Nature Boy and gives Flair a push. Flair responds back with some more chops but Hunter catches him with a huge clothesline knocking the bloodied Flair down! Triple H has Flair down on the mat as he teases Flair letting out a huge “WOOOO!” as the fans boo Triple H as he locks in the Figure Four Leg Lock on Flair! Triple H has the maneuver locked in for a little bit but it is broken up by Austin as he saw that Flair could have been in trouble. Austin grabs Triple H as he throws some hard rights at Hunter trying to take down the Game. In the corner we see Michaels getting back to his feet and Edge is lining him up for the Spear once again! Edge charges at HBK but Michaels moves and Edge runs right into the cage head first! The Rated R Superstar falls down onto the mat, clutching his head as he might need medical attention.
Mr. McMahon is having a fit on the outside knowing Edge is going to be down for a while in the ring. McMahon calls for paramedics to hurry down here and get Edge out as he might need stitches as blood is pouring everywhere from the top of his head. With the odds being against his team now, Mr. McMahon apparently had a back up idea as he tells the referee! McMahon watches as down the ramp comes…his son Shane McMahon? The crowd is confused as Shane o Mac slides into the ring and is the new partner for Team McMahon? Shane quickly runs over to Shawn hitting him with some hard lefts and rights before he does the famous jive move before knocking Michaels down with a right. Mr. McMahon is yelling at his son in support as Shane o Mac climbs onto the top ropes. Shane gets Christian to place Michaels down on a steel chair and hold him down.
Shane looks ready to jump off the ropes whenever John Cena runs over and picks him up off the turnbuckles. Cena grabs him as Michaels fought off Christian. Cena then plants Shane o Mac with a huge F-U onto the steel chair. Cena quickly covers McMahon, looking for a win….
NO! McMahon kicks out with authority as Cena rolls over onto his side. Cena gets back onto his feet before he backs up into Orton’s arms. Orton quickly plants Cena with a neck breaker on Orton’s back! The camera then cuts back over to Triple H who has Flair planted in the corner. Triple H climbs onto the top turnbuckle, looking to hit Flair with ten rights but from behind, Michaels hits Triple H across the back! Michaels tries to take down Hunter but from behind, Christian greets Michaels with a steel chair shot across the back! HBK goes down, grasping at his back as Hunter quickly grabs Flair on the top rope and hits a Superplex! The tide of the match has once again changed into the favor of Team McMahon as Mr. McMahon has once again taken a seat at ringside instead of walking around. Austin has been out of the match equation for a bit but he walks back over to Game.
Austin and the Game are going at it now throwing hard rights before Austin throws Hunter into the ropes. Austin explodes off the ropes himself and jumps at Triple H with a flying shoulder block! Austin then pounds Hunter with hard lefts and rights before out of nowhere, Christian hits his nemesis Stone Cold across the back with a steel chair as well! Christian is returning the favor from the beat down Austin gave him earlier! Christian hurriedly throws Austin over onto his side and throws an arm over Austin, hoping to get the win for his team.
Broken up by Cena! Cena quickly pulls Christian back up before he throws Christian into the ropes. Christian stays on the ropes as Cena charges at him and hits a huge body splash onto Christian in the turnbuckles. Cena then grabs Christian and throws him into the opposing corner. Cena charges at Christian in the other corner but Christian side steps him and Cena prevents himself from hitting the turnbuckles. Cena then steps back and grabs Christian, looking for another F-U but at this time, Shane o Mac spears Cena down! Christian falls down onto the mat as Shane o Mac is throwing rights at Cena, getting revenge for that F-U earlier! Austin has gotten himself back up onto his feet as he picks Hunter back up too. Hunter tries to attempt a Pedigree but Austin kicks Hunter down low, playing the Game’s dirty rules and plants Hunter with a Stunner! The referee gets down on the mat as this could be it for Team Michaels!
WAIT! Orton breaks it up! Orton pounds away at Austin from behind but Austin simply gets back onto his feet and stares down Orton. Orton tries for an RKO but Austin pushes him off into the ropes and as Orton rebounds back, he runs into another Stunner from Stone Cold! We then cut back over to see Shane o Mac on Cena but Cena is quick to roll over on Shane o Mac and throw some hard rights at Shane! In the corner, Shawn Michaels is pulling himself back up onto his feet, bloodied and all and Christian takes note of this. Christian charges into the corner at Michaels! HBK got a sudden boost of energy as he plants Christian with a Sweet Chin Music! Michaels hits his signature maneuver for the second time in the match as he falls down, barely any energy and throws an arm over Christian. The fans count along with the referee as they feel this is the ending of the match.
Lilian Garcia: Here are your winners…Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, and Ric Flair…Team Michaels!!!
Match Length: 26 Minutes, 15 Seconds
The fans cheer as Michaels is coming to the realization that he has won the match. All the heels are down on the mat as McMahon is going crazy on the outside of the ring. He thinks about going into the ring but stops himself before he does! Michaels, Cena, Austin, and Flair all hold their hands high in celebration, taunting the CEO, Mr. McMahon on the outside as they overcame adversity and won the match tonight.
Jim Ross: I’ll be damned! What a hell of a match we have just witnessed here. Team Michaels reigns victorious!
Jerry Lawler: And only one career has ended and well, it’s not Shawn Michaels!
Jim Ross: If our WWE title match is anything like the Steel Cage Showdown we are in for one big treat to close the night out with.
We head backstage quickly to see the GM’s together once again.
Jonathan Coachman: Ok Maria, it’s time for your decision.
Maria: Um, what decision?
Jonathan Coachman: What show do you think had the better matches?
Theodore Long: Coach, did you rig this bet playa?
Jonathan Coachman: What makes you say that Teddy?
Theodore Long: Well Coach I can’t help but notice that Maria has an extra 20 in her hand. Where did she get that from?
Jonathan Coachman: I have no clue? Maybe it’s her own.
Coach tries to hide that he did pay Maria but Long has none of it.
Maria: Wait I made a decision.
Jonathan Coachman: Ok.
Maria: Coach I think that Raw had the better matches….
Jonathan Coachman: Yes I win. Can I have my hundred back now Maria?
Maria: Wait no I mean Smackdown.
Theodore Long: That’s how I like it dawg! Yeah!
Long grabs the 100 and looks at it as Coach sits down on the couch depressed as we head back into the arena.
Jim Ross: A wild night it has been and nothing more serious could close out the night more than this next match for the WWE championship.
Jerry Lawler: These two men have came a long way this year and now these two enemies must do battle over the top prize in the industry.

Break the Walls Down hits across the arena as out steps Jericho. Jericho and Palumbo make their way down the ramp after Jericho poses for his pyro to go off. Jericho walks down the ramp and shakes the ropes before he gets in and plays to the fans despite their boos. Palumbo stands on the outside watching and waiting for the match to begin.
Lilian Garcia: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the WWE Championship. Introducing first from Manhasset, New York weighing in at 225 pounds, Chris Jericho!!!
One of a Kind hits across the arena as out steps RVD and Sabu. RVD makes his way down the ramp after doing the RVD thumb taunt before he rolls into the ring and climbs each turnbuckle playing to the fans. The fans eat it up as RVD hands the title over and waits for the match to get underway here tonight.
Rob Van Dam (c) w/ Sabu vs. Chris Jericho w/ Chuck Palumbo
The ref calls for the bell as both RVD and Jericho head into the middle of the ring and lock up. Jericho gets the advantage first as he is able to push the champion into the corner. Jericho rares back and throws some hard rights at the champion as RVD tries to block them with both of his hands but Jericho is able to connect with them anyways. The fans boo as Jericho continues punching RVD before looking to the outside to a smiling Chuck Palumbo. Jericho then follows through by throwing Van Dam onto the middle turnbuckle. Jericho then rares back and throws one more hard right before making his way onto the middle turnbuckle.
Jericho grabs RVD but RVD won’t budge as he holds his foot on the ropes and won’t let go of the ropes with his foot. Jericho tries lifting Van Dam to hit him with a huge Suplex off the middle ropes but Van Dam is able to push Jericho off the ropes and down onto the mat. Jericho tumbles around on the mat for a bit before getting back onto his feet. Van Dam then quickly leaps off the turnbuckles and connects with a Crossbody off the top rope! Van Dam has a chance to close this out in the early goings of the match!
Not even close as Jericho was able to kick out and keep the match going on. Van Dam stumbles back onto his feet before he stomps Jericho in the head and then gets down on the mat and picks Jericho back up. Van Dam then proceeds to grab Jericho and push him into the ropes. Jericho runs back at Van Dam but Van Dam trips up Jericho face first into the mat! Van Dam toys around with Jericho as he spins around and pretends to lock a headlock on the challenger but Jericho pushes him off. Jericho sits back up and gets back onto his feet and waits for Van Dam to get back in the middle of the ring with him.
Jericho gets back up on his feet and walks back into the middle of the ring not taking his eyes off the champion. RVD and Jericho both lock up once again as this time it’s RVD that gets the best of Jericho as RVD pushes Jericho off into the corner. RVD charges in the corner for a clothesline but Jericho bails to the outside of the ring. Jericho grabs his head after “hitting” himself once or twice trying to get his head back into the game. Palumbo walks over and talks to Jericho trying to calm him down and prepare him for the rest of the match. Jericho nods his head at Palumbo before he rolls back into the ring and looks ready to lock back up with Van Dam. Sabu is on the outside cheering on Van Dam as Van Dam gives him a quick thumbs up.
Jericho now walks back to Van Dam as both men lock up once again. Van Dam tries to get the advantage but this time it’s Jericho who does as he shoves Van Dam off into the corner. Van Dam’s back hits the middle turnbuckle as he falls down onto the mat. The fans watch as Jericho walks over into the corner and starts kicking Van Dam in the head. Jericho then drags Van Dam back up and hits him with a effective Suplex. Jericho doesn’t cover but instead picks Van Dam back up. Jericho whips Van Dam off into the ropes as Van Dam comes running back at Jericho and Jericho quickly hits him with a dropkick! Jericho throws an arm over Van Dam as he goes for the cover.
The fans watch Van Dam kick out of the move with ease. Van Dam rolls back onto his feet as Jericho walks over to Van Dam and kicks Van Dam hard in the stomach. RVD rolls to the outside where Sabu helps him back up. Palumbo walks over trying to stir up trouble with Sabu and RVD but Sabu blocks RVD off and dares Palumbo to come over. However this distracts Sabu long enough for Jericho to run outside and grab RVD before lodging him into the barricade. Sabu turns around and runs at Jericho but Jericho runs away and right back into the ring. The ref watches from the outside as Sabu helps up Van Dam and Van Dam gets rolled back into the ring.
Jericho goes back to work once again stomping on RVD before he picks the champion up and throws him into the corner. Jericho makes his way into the corner before placing Van Dam on the top turnbuckle once again. Jericho watches Van Dam to make sure he won’t counter the move like last time before Jericho climbs onto the turnbuckles and then punches Van Dam hard. Jericho then jumps off the ropes and connects with a huge enzuigiri off the ropes sending Van Dam flying down onto the mat. The fans have not seen that before as Jericho lies on the mat in pain as well as he took a decent fall as well.
The fans watch Jericho start pulling himself towards the ropes to try and get back onto his feet as he has a bit of trouble as he hobbles towards the ropes but he gets right back up. Jericho then proceeds to walk over to Van Dam and then turn RVD on his back. Jericho looks ready to lock in the Walls of Jericho so early on but RVD was able to kick away Jericho. Jericho then walks back over and picks Van Dam up. Jericho grabs Van Dam and applies a headlock before Van Dam is able to hit Jericho in the sternum with repetitive rights. Jericho gets pushed off as Van Dam catches Jericho and then quickly hits a Northern Lights Suplex with the bridge! The fans watch as RVD might have a chance at coming back in the match!
Jericho is able to break the bridge but Van Dam holds on. Both men still have the bridge connected as RVD is able to pick himself back up and then connect with a quick series of kicks sending Jericho flying back. Jericho bounces off the ropes right into a Spinning Heel Kick from RVD! The fans watch as RVD rolls back onto his feet and walks over to Jericho. RVD goes to pick Jericho up off the ropes but Palumbo hits Van Dam with a cheap shot. Palumbo tries getting up on the ropes but the ref has a quick word with him as Palumbo jumps off the ropes and gets back onto the mat where he is supposed to be.
That distraction from Palumbo was crucial as it has given Jericho some crucial time that he needed to start recovering from the series of moves from Van Dam. Jericho starts to pull himself up with the help of the ropes and he gets back up before picking Van Dam back up. Jericho lifts Van Dam and throws him between his legs possibly looking for the Double Powerbomb but RVD was able to flip Jericho over his back with a Back Body Drop sending Jericho flying down onto the mat. The fans watch as RVD looks in the middle of the ring and then hits a spinning kick landing on Jericho. RVD rolls back onto his feet and plays to the fans with the RVD taunt! The champ walks back over and picks the challenger back up.
RVD grabs Jericho and prepares to throw him into the turnbuckles but at the last second, Jericho was able to stop himself from going into the turnbuckles as he grabbed the turnbuckle and held on for dear life! Van Dam’s head was almost thrown into the turnbuckle but with amazing flexibility, Van Dam was able to kick Jericho hard in the head. Van Dam watched as Jericho fell back down onto the mat. Van Dam knows that he has to take opportunity of this as he leaps onto the ropes and then looks down at Jericho. Van Dam leaps off the ropes and connects with a major Corkscrew Leg Drop off the top ropes! The fans are going wild as RVD is pulling out all the stops here tonight trying his best to win this match! RVD crawls over and throws an arm over Jericho.
RVD looks around the arena and wonders what it might take to close the match out here tonight against Jericho. RVD doesn’t complain though as he rolls back over and gets back up onto his feet before walking back over to Jericho. Sabu is still on the outside clapping for Van Dam as Van Dam grabs Jericho and throws him into the ropes. Van Dam watches as Jericho runs off the ropes and falls down onto the mat with another Back Body Drop! Van Dam now gets on the mat and looks down at Jericho before running off the ropes and trying for the Rolling Thunder! However it was Jericho who was able to roll out of the way and quickly he scooped RVD’s legs out from underneath him and turned him on his back locking in the Walls of Jericho! The fans boo as Jericho was able to get lucky there as he now could close the match out fairly early in the match.
Jericho has fully turned RVD on his back as the fans look on and know this could spell the end of RVD’s 4 month title reign. Jericho wrenches away at the back of Jericho trying his best to force the champion to tap out and have to lose his title here tonight. RVD starts to pull his way towards the ropes but at the last second, Palumbo pulled the rope away from RVD’s reach and just at that time Jericho pulled Van Dam back into the middle of the ring. The fans boo as Palumbo looks around acting like he has no clue what just happened in the ring. Jericho pulls the leg of RVD back and digs his knee into the back of RVD before going back to the normal version of the Walls of Jericho.
Jericho continues keeping the hold applied but before he can dig his knee into the back of RVD once again, the ref forces Jericho to break the hold because Van Dam has the ropes grabbed. The fans cheer for Van Dam as he has found a way back into the match once again! Jericho looks at the referee as if he is stupid and keeps the hold locked in until the count of four. The ref warns Jericho one more time and of course Jericho ignores him. Y2J walks over and picks Van Dam up before throwing him between his legs as if he is preparing for a Powerbomb. However at the last second, RVD’s back is rammed into the turnbuckle as Jericho throws Van Dam into the turnbuckle hard. The fans watch as Van Dam falls onto the mat clutching at his back as the fans wonder if the champion has anything left in him to keep this match going.
Jericho doesn’t pay attention to the fans as he walks over to Van Dam and throws him back up onto the mat. Jericho quickly slaps Van Dam across the face and yells “That’s right Baby!” as Jericho then proceeds to grab RVD and quickly run out of the corner and hit the mat hard with a thunderous bulldog sending RVD’s head face first into the mat. Jericho looks around the arena and then kicks Van Dam over onto his side before he throws his foot onto the stomach of Van Dam. The fans watch as Jericho looks at the referee and yells “Count”
Jericho kicks Van Dam over onto his back as RVD was able to get a shoulder up meaning the match must continue on. Jericho wonders if he can possibly end up closing out the match here like Van Dam had a chance at earlier in the match or not. Jericho walks back over and picks Van Dam up before he thrusts RVD into the turnbuckle with a spear like maneuver. The fans watch on as Jericho rares back and throws right after right after right at RVD and they continue to daze RVD. Jericho then drags Van Dam back into the middle of the ring and then goes to lift RVD into the air when at the last moment RVD is able to land on his feet. RVD spins Jericho around and then quickly hits Jericho with a flawless Roundhouse kick knocking Jericho down onto the mat. RVD then watches as he runs across the ring and baseball slide dropkicks Jericho right onto the outside of the ring! Palumbo is on the outside trying to help Jericho back up. RVD takes this time to head over onto the top rope. Palumbo looks in the ring for RVD and it’s too late as RVD leaps off the ropes and connects with Air Van Dam sending Palumbo and Jericho crashing back down onto the mat! RVD stands back onto his feet and pumps his fist in the air and he grabs Jericho and rolls him into the ring. RVD having not taken the fall in that move can move fine right now as he throws an arm over Jericho.
WAIT! Shoulder up from Jericho means the match must continue on! The fans can’t believe it as they have just seen Jericho taken two hard back to back moves and then able to keep the match going by getting his shoulder up? RVD looks down at Jericho and then runs off the ropes before this time finally connecting with the Rolling Thunder! RVD rolls back onto his feet and does the RVD thumb taunt once again before he heads over onto the top rope apparently wanting to close the match out now. RVD looks around the arena as he quickly leaps onto the top rope but from out of nowhere comes Palumbo as he shoves RVD off the turnbuckle. The ref runs to the outside of the ring and grabs Palumbo restraining him as he waves to the back for security to come down! The fans cheer as the main trouble maker in the match is now gone! The fans sing “Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Goodbye” as Palumbo makes his exit. Jericho looks up the ramp grabbing at his hair knowing his title shot may now be in jeopardy.
Jericho heads over to the ropes and pulls himself up with the help of the ropes. Y2J looks around the arena and knows he must strike now if he wants a chance to go ahead and close out the match especially now that his sidekick Palumbo is no longer out here. Jericho looks across the arena and then down at RVD before he runs off the ropes and hits the Lionsault successfully. Jericho then reaches down and throws the leg of RVD to the side as he hooks the leg once again hoping for a chance at victory.
RVD was able to quickly get a shoulder up and keep the match going. Jericho slaps the mat in frustration as he then proceeds to walk over to Van Dam and then throw him right onto his back. Jericho looks primed for the Walls of Jericho but instead locks in an old school move that happens to be the Liontamer! Just as deadly, Jericho is trying his best to force RVD into submission here tonight and grab the title. The ref turns his back to look at Sabu and at that time, Jericho grabs the ropes forcing the hold to be applied even harder. Sabu yells and then jumps onto the ropes trying to point this out to the referee. The referee tells Sabu to get off the ropes as Jericho breaks the hold immediately and walks over to Sabu. Jericho runs off the ropes and hits a quick Springboard Dropkick sending Sabu flying down onto the ground landing hard on the mat on the outside. Jericho now focuses his attention back in the ring on RVD. Jericho heads right back over to RVD and then grabs RVD before picking him back up. Jericho then grabs RVD and proceeds to quickly hit him with the Codebreaker! The fans boo as they know this might be the ending of RVD’s title reign for good now. The ref gets down on the mat and counts.
Foot on the ropes! At the last second the champion was able to get his foot on the ropes and keep this match going. Jericho looks cinched in the ring and seems as if he has popped a blood vessel. He really doesn’t know if he’ll be able to close this match out or not now. Jericho proceeds to kick RVD hard in the back before he spins RVD back around and throws him right onto his back once again. Jericho then throws RVD right onto his back and grabs the legs of the champion and despite the constant fighting from Jericho, RVD is able to lock in the finisher for the second time tonight, the Walls of Jericho! RVD is trying his best to fight off the maneuver but Jericho has get his mind set that he is about to close this match out here right now.
Jericho pulls RVD back into the middle of the ring as RVD was getting closer and closer to that bottom rope and meaning the hold being broke once again. The fans watch as RVD needs to find that one break here and break free and grab the ropes! Jericho yells out “Tap out” as he has made many people do before and RVD just won’t have any of it here tonight. Jericho really wants to go ahead and finish the match off but RVD isn’t going to make it that easy. Jericho even proceeds to head over to the ropes and grab the ropes while keeping the hold applied but the ref was able to warn Jericho and then force Jericho to break the hold after he refused to let go of the ropes. At this time however back down the ramp comes Chuck Palumbo?
Security is chasing Palumbo down the ramp as Palumbo was able to slide into the ring quickly and then almost knock RVD’s head off with a Big Boot. Security tripped up Palumbo before dragging him right to the back of the arena once again. The fans watch as Jericho seems rather confused but won’t act as if he didn’t have any clue about what just happened. Jericho smiles at Palumbo as he gets down on the mat and once again covers the champion. It looks as if now it is all but in the bag for Jericho here tonight. Could we have ourselves a brand new WWE Champion right now?
RVD gets his shoulder up once again! Jericho seems as if he has no hope now and it sure does seem that way. Jericho seems so intent on taking that title that he walks right back over to RVD and then grabs the legs of the champion once again. Jericho goes to throw RVD right on his back for the Walls of Jericho for the third time but RVD was able to kick Jericho off of him and right into the ropes. Jericho rebounded off the ropes and RVD tripped him up with a cradle.
Jericho kicks out quickly and then rolls back over before getting back onto his feet. Jericho watches as RVD ducks underneath a clothesline attempt from Jericho before RVD quickly drops Jericho with a rather quick Superkick sending Jericho straight onto the mat. RVD looks around the arena and then runs off the ropes before this time hitting Jericho with a Back Handspring and then a Standing Moonsault! The fans go wild as RVD heads to the top rope and then looks down at Sabu on the outside before pointing to the top of the heavens. RVD looks around the arena and then leaps off the top ropes before ending up connecting with the Five Star Frog Splash! The fans go wild as RVD quickly hooks the leg hoping that this is it!
Lilian Garcia: The winner and STILL WWE Champion….Rob Van Dam!!!
Match Length: 17 Minutes, 08 Seconds
Jim Ross: What a night it has been here tonight and RVD remains on top. Jericho tried everything he could but Van Dam has retained.
Jerry Lawler: A wild night indeed it was here at SummerSlam and many things have changed in the face of the WWE for now.
Jim Ross: Indeed because Smackdown has lost a career of a superstar, Raw’s Shawn Michaels is now the number one contender and both World champions remained on top!
Jerry Lawler: As for me I’m the King and he’s JR, good night everybody!

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury
Well-pleasure to show up in this thread in review form. I just thought I should leave some feedback on 'Slam, which was amazing, btw. Enough jabber, on with the feedback...
619s Feedback for KOP's WWE SummerSlam
The opening video gave the whole night a vegeful feel. I'm not sure if that's what you intended, but that's what got across to me-it set the tone for the rest of the night moreso than the opening match did. Very original.
Alright, to kick things off we have the US title match-which I enjoyed very much. The early sig maneuvers by Mysterio gave me the impression that he wasn't gonna have much left in the long run, but I'm glad he hung in there longer than I though he was going to. I'm surprised Hardy didn't get more involved than he did-few choice words for Kennedy here and there, but I thought of something more. Anyway, great match overall and Kennedy coming out on top could keep this feud going strong.
What I liked about these constant GM/Maria promos is that they interupted the vengeful feel of the whole night. They had little light-hearted moments, which added to the entertainment factor.
I skimmed thru alot of some matches past the first one, but I'm sure I got alot of Book/Carlito. I haven't been following too much recently, but I know enough that neither one of these two wants to really have the other one walk out on his own power tonight-it really showed. The only thing bad I have to say about this match is that it felt longer than the first match, but I look at the time and it was shorter. Great W for Carlito, I was sure that was destined for Booker.
Another light-hearted moment to break the mood. Hornswaggle actin like a toddler...great stuff. Surprised Finlay said nothin' to Burchill, but whatever. LOL moment here.
Again, I apologize for skimming a little thru this match (), but what I did get was great. I loved the technical work that this match had throughout, even with the big guy Lashley. I thought the spear late would've done it, and I liked how you stalled the ending just abit, teasing a Finlay comeback.
Benjamin interview. Filler, but it did it's job of hyping his match with Hardy, I will say that.
Wow...all I can say is wow. The first paragraph had me gripped, cuz I could tell this was gonna be one hellova match. This wasn't the only match I thought that about, but it was amazing nonetheless. I think you exaggerated Jeff's athletisizm durring the match some, but you had Benjamin's right on. I would've given this MOTN overall, but the ending seemed kinda weak and a little rushed. Best match to this point, though.
More with the playful bet-I loved how you played with this thing the entire night. Anyway, the Team Michaels segment kinda got me thinking about anything Austin could pull...endless possiblilites.
I pretty much skimmed over this match completley (). I got lots of the high points enough to know that it was damn good. The ending really surpised me-introducing Umaga to the thread in this manner was really something else, but not surpised he helps Batista beat 'Taker. An Umaga/Deadman campain seems to be in the works here...
Nice mini-'Mania promo here. I understand this was the first of the long run, so here's to hoping it develops over time
JBL's character was right on here-dead flat asswipe. Solid hype for his title match...which, I'm assuming is next?
...assumption confirmed. I skimmed thru this match again (sorry . Long stuff scares me...), but again, I got all the high points and great material in the match-your matches are really easy to pick up on at any given point, I can tell ya that much. Anyway, I'm not suprised JBL loses his job tonight (f**k yeah!!!), but I'm kinda surprised he did so by tapping out like a little kid.
This was the second match I was absolutly speachless in. It kinda got confusing and I got lost for a little while, but with new people constaintly coming in I found it easy to pick back up again. Great booking job here-from what I understand, this is an original match. Oustanding job here, and I liked how you showed the power of one man by having Team Mac dominate for a while, then have SC show up and change the momentum around completley. I would've though Stone Cold would've done something more symbolic in that match (seeing as how this would be his last PPV in the thread), but I'm satisfied that Michaels still has his job, as well as the #1 Contendership to whoever wins later.
To hell with Smackdown. After what I just read, RAW pwns Smackdown . Sorry, Maria sweety.
This match was a little of a let down...not so much in a bad way, but I was really psyced after the Showdown (kinda exhausted too, but I bore thruough it), but this match had it's own majesty as well. The chemistry between RVD and Jericho is amazing (I know-I had my own angle with these two), so it's not surpising that this match had the best match flow of the night. I'm surprised a bit to see RVD retain-Jericho/Michaels one more time would've been the shit, but I mark hard for Van Dam, so a retain here does me well, too. Only thing wrong with this match-ending seemed rushed.
FINAL THOUGHTS: OUTSTANDING PPV, BUT I EXPECTED THAT. I really see now how good of a booker they say you were The two big things that jump out at me to begin with are the introduction of Umaga and the chaotic genious of the Steel Cage Showdown. The cage was quite cumbersome to read, but so are all matches with more than three guys, really. You had a bevy of great written matches with a few flaws here and there-mainly the endings. I though the U.S. and IC title match endings were fairly weak, and the WWE title match end seemed a little rushed to me. 'Taker/Batista's ending I never saw coming, excellent booking. All in all, I have to say a very enjoyable PPV-fucking fantastic matches, great booking in and out, solid hype, oh so close to perfection.

Re: WWE Unleash the Fury
Ok here is what I have decided to do. Right now I've pretty much summed up the events of Raw from the four Raw's leading up to Unforgiven. I'm looking to recap Unforgiven so I can get that out of the way. If not, I might just do quick recapped results like Forever-Delayed did. We'll have to see how I feel like doing it. Either way, feel free to keep those SummerSlam reviews coming because Unforgiven won't be up for a bit anyways and it'll be recapped anyways. I'm not expecting much out of this, just a few comments would be nice. Feel free to leave Unforgiven predictions as well if you'd like.
Once Unforgiven is up, I'll do the same thing leading into No Mercy for Smackdown which will have seven shows after SummerSlam and then the same for Cyber Sunday, Survivor Series, and Armageddon. So most likely it'll probably be just recaps like Forever-Delayed's now that I think about it but anyways enjoy.
Raw Noteworthy Events
At the beginning of Raw Mr. McMahon came out and talked about how his team was so close to being victorious at Sunday. And then Mr. McMahon says that right now he wants his team to come down to the ring. All of the members come down and Mr. McMahon tells them they will all be in action tonight. Mr. McMahon says that tonight Edge and Randy Orton will both face one another and the winner will stay here on Raw while the loser goes back to Smackdown. As for Triple H tonight he will face a mystery opponent and then Mr. McMahon looks at Christian real good. He says that since Christian got pinned last night he can face the man that pinned him…Shawn Michaels!
Charlie Haas has his sign ups on Raw as he fields a few “applications” before in comes of all people, Ric Flair! Flair says that he’d be glad to help young Haas and try to get back to the top of the tag team mountain. Haas and Flair both agree that they will tag team starting next week and the camera cuts down to see Shelton Benjamin watching this standing behind a wall.
Cryme Tyme made their debuts as well with a successful win over two jobbers on Raw. The team has asserted themselves shortly as one of the top face teams on Raw. They both put on a small act as after the match they go and trick the referee and end up stealing his wallet! The fans go wild as Cryme Tyme leaves the arena.
Also to debut which is rather rare to see two debuts in one night was Umaga with his manager Armando Alejandro Estrada. Umaga looks ready for action as Estrada introduces himself and his client Umaga. Estrada says that Umaga is here to run right through the competition on Raw and then to finally take down the Undertaker on Smackdown. Estrada says their actions won’t be explained until the Undertaker returns later. Umaga quickly runs right through Val Venis getting the huge win in his debut.
Finally onto Team McMahon, Edge and Orton ended up doing battle in a match that fans were mixed on who to cheer for. However it seems they sided with Orton for a bit considering both men are heels. Orton was able to score the win over Edge after Edge missed a Spear and Orton dropped Edge with the RKO to stay on Raw. Triple H later did battle that night on Raw taking on Sabu. Sabu put up a good fight but in the end succumbed to Triple H thanks to his pedigree. And finally to close the night out, Shawn Michaels fought Christian in a good match. However once again it was a replay of SummerSlam basically as HBK was able to drop Christian in the middle of the ring with the Sweet Chin Music. Mr. McMahon made his way down the ramp and stared Christian down saying that he’s tired of looking at this piece of crap! YOU’RE FIRED!!! The fans go wild as Raw comes to an end.
Carlito hosts Chris Jericho on Carlito’s Cabana on the August 28th edition of Raw after Jericho didn’t make an appearance on Raw last week. Carlito asks Jericho how it felt to lose at SummerSlam. Carlito reminds Jericho that he won his match at SummerSlam. Jericho and Palumbo both take down Carlito and attack him shortly after the segment began and pretty much ruin the set for Carlito’s Cabana in the process.
Shelton Benjamin began his stuff about being the “King of the Ladder Match” and talked about how he was going to pretty much run right through Jeff Hardy at Unforgiven.
Finally Randy Orton talked about how he suffered a small setback saying that he “hurt himself” last week in his match but he should be back in about a month. Orton says that once he comes back, Raw has been warned!
In other news, Ric Flair and Charlie Haas both earned a title shot at Unforgiven after defeating Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch and the Highlanders in a Triple Threat Match. Also, it was announced that Triple H would meet Cena at Unforgiven.
Finally to close out other stuff, Mickie James got a pin fall win over Victoria on the September 4th edition of Raw as she teamed with Beth Phoenix to face Victoria and Melina. Cena didn’t appear on the September 11th Raw after being attacked the week before to play off his injuries.

Rob Van Dam retained his WWE title at SummerSlam and the night after SummerSlam he was informed of his challenger for Unforgiven, Shawn Michaels! HBK had earned his title shot at SummerSlam in the Steel Cage Showdown match in which it was career versus title but Team HBK prevailed over Team McMahon. Over the next few weeks HBK and RVD would both exchange words with one another over this friendly rivalry that got a lot of attention but mainly was being hyped for the first time ever these two would hook up. The fans loved the idea of the match and it showed whenever it was announced. Will RVD’s five and a half month title reign continue on or will HBK finally be the man to stop RVD? Will the dream match live up to it’s potential?
Shelton Benjamin had developed a cocky attitude over the course of the last two months towards the end of the summer and it showed for a while. However Jeff Hardy felt he would be the man to finally shut Benjamin up. At SummerSlam both men put on one hell of a match but in the end Hardy fell short in a 16 minute classic. Shortly after SummerSlam though Benjamin kept on calling himself the “King of the Ladder Match” and then he pretty much challenged Hardy to a ladder match after attacking Hardy with a ladder after Hardy’s match on Raw. Can Benjamin prove to the fans that he is the self proclaimed “King of the Ladder Match” or will Hardy school Benjamin in the art of the ladder match and earn the Intercontinental title finally?
Charlie Haas knew he was for real. And apparently so did Ric Flair. For weeks Charlie Haas had been searching for the right tag partner and eventually he found him in the form of Ric Flair! Flair agreed to partner up with Haas and “re-boot” Haas’s career after Haas has had a bit of trouble in the singles department of wrestling for a while. Now that Haas has a formidable partner in Flair, will Haas and Flair be able to co-exist to take on the team of MNM. MNM has taunted Flair for weeks for choosing to be Haas’s partner as they feel that this tag team is a joke and cannot beat the Hollywood A-Listers that they are. Will we be seeing new tag champs or will Melina’s boys reign supreme once again?
Mickie James has been waiting for her shot for two months and now it has finally come. It’s time to put up or shut up. After having won her first Women’s title back at WrestleMania 22 against her former friend Trish Stratus, Mickie went on to hold the title for nearly four months before she got put back by Victoria in a Triple Threat Match. Victoria since then has been running rampant on Raw with the Women’s title trying to beat everyone in sight. Victoria has enjoyed the Women’s title before as this is her third time to hold the title. Will Mickie finally be able to redeem herself for her loss back in July or will Victoria’s reign continue on?
A match filled of jealousy pretty much sums up this one. Triple H knew he had a title shot waiting for him and for some reason he’s blamed it on John Cena, who was just a partner of Team HBK at SummerSlam. Triple H ran rampant around Raw the night after SummerSlam destroying everything in site and going crazy in a match. For the first time ever now, Triple H meets John Cena in what looks to be one big match up. Cena looks set for redemption after being beaten down by Cena on one episode of Raw and being caused to bleed in his hometown. Can Cena get the redemption he wants or will Triple H try and continue on his way up to the top of the WWE Mountain?
Jericho suffered a huge setback at SummerSlam after losing to RVD. Carlito ended up taunting Jericho on Carlito’s Cabana a week after SummerSlam saying that he won his match at SummerSlam while Jericho failed to. This caused a 2 on 1 beat down from Palumbo and Jericho to ensue. Carlito then proceeded to ask Raw GM Jonathan Coachman for these first times ever match at Unforgiven to finally settle the odds between both of these men. Can Carlito shut up Jericho and avoid Palumbo or will Jericho finally get that one big win he’s needed since his last major win against Shawn Michaels?
WWE.com News and Notes
Booker T injured himself at SummerSlam and will be out anywhere from 6-10 weeks.
The Randy Orton "injury" storyline is basically to get Orton off TV since he was suspended due to the new Drug Testing program. He has been suspended for 30 days and won't be back until early October or so.
The Charlie Haas storyline pretty much went off as it was expected and nobody really expected Flair to be Haas's partner. Creative feels that they should be one of the top tag teams in WWE right now.
Creative is also confident about Unforgiven and that it should deliver well. Rumors are going around that Umaga might be getting a quick unannounced match at Unforgiven but nothing is sure as of right now.
The plans for Unforgiven look exciting as RVD and Shawn Michaes match hasn't gotten as much build as thougth but they feel it will deliver big time anyways. It is the first time these two have met and both feel that they can do their work in the ring instead of out of it.
If I decide to do Unforgiven like F-D did his recent PPV's, look for it tomorrow then. If not, it'll be up late next week. But right now I'm leaning towards tomorrow. Until then enjoy.
