WWE Smackdown -- 3rd February – Review

Well, it is hard to give a full-lengthy review for a recapped show, so I’ll try to throw up some comments for the show. Edge comes out with his life? I don’t know but did they get married in your thread? Rock’s in and now the feud hasn’t ended yet. Rock & Edge do a little brawl and then the GM comes up and makes a match between them for the World Title. I don’t think that Edge will loose the title though. Good action to start up the SmackDown! and glad to see Frankie retaining the gold and then London coming up to save the face named as Shannon Moore. The tables again turned on London and Kidman and Frankie got the best, once again. A short, but a nice promo from Mysterio, which ends up him saying Angle’s quotes, ‘that’s damn true’, lol. JBL’s speech looked good. I feel that Triple H will come up and cost JBL his match tonight, somehow. Anyway, Kane comes up and the match starts. A good contest with some interference. I liked the ending and the aftermath specially. It was a good way to hype up every feud from just one match though. Whoa, nice way to see Lesnar and Edge teaming-up and then beating Batista. A filler match here, just to give Carlito a victory, nothing much to say here. Damn nice promo from Kennedy, it could’ve been made better though. I really liked the feud going on between Kennedy and Carlito. Surprised to see Rey not getting involved in Chavo’s match with Orton. Anyway, a nice victory for Orton. It could’ve been better if Rey would’ve cost Orton another match. Finally Foley does something good which he should’ve done earlier, to firing Lesnar. RAW’s GM here, I wonder he will play tricks to get Benoit to the RAW. Rock would’ve won that match, damn you Kennedy. I can see Kennedy vs. Rock II at No Way Out. Batista then comes back and clears the ring. Rock, you are unlucky. And yeah, Rock vs. Kennedy announced for the pay per view, which will be good. But I wonder what about Kennedy’s feud with Carlito? I am predicting Carlito to come up and cost Kennedy his match at No Way Out. Amazing contract signging, I loved every part of it. RKO by Orton through the tables! That’s turning out to be a very interesting storyline. Benoit signs SmackDown!’s contract and the main-event is set, I think. Or it might be a triple threat? I am confused. Anyway, it was a damn good show, still in recap.

WWE RAW Preview

After Chris Benoit appeared to sign with to stay with Smackdown after winning the Royal Rumble, what will Eric Bischoff do now to decide who the number 1 contender for Wrestlemania is?

But the big question is who will be the WWE Champion after tonight. Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels face off in a Survivor Series rematch, in what is one of the most anticipated matches of the year. Will we get the same result as at SS, or will HBK take home the title? And will Bret Hart answer his challenge for a 1 on 1 match?

Plus, how will Triple H react after getting the pinfall on Christian is the main event last week, finally getting one over on his rival. We will hear from the game this evening

Find out what happens, only, on Monday Night Raw

Raw will be up some point later this week, probably Thursday

RAW looks nice. Specially the main-event with the WWE Championship on the line. I am feeling that Bret would show up later in that match or maybe anytime during the show. I would throw a review soon, after you have posted the RAW.

WWE RAW – February 6th

Raw opens with us seeing Eric Bischoff sitting in his office, staring straight at the camera

Eric: Tonight, tonight is the beginning of the Road to Wrestlemania tournament. Tonight, 8 superstars have their chance to take the first step towards the WWE Title. And next week, the other 8 superstars will have their chance to progress through the first round. So all that’s left to be said is good luck to everyone in the tournament. The brackets have been drawn, and they will be made available after the first match, which starts (looks at his watch), now!

The Raw opening video then plays, and then the pyro explodes as Raw is officially on the air. We get a brief amount of commentary talking about the tournament, and then they hype the HBK/Jericho match which is the main event for this evening

Then, *Arabic* hits, and out comes Mohammed Hassan and Daivari to a lot of heat from the crowd, as they come out for the first tournament match of the evening. Hassan and Daivari slowly come down to the ring, ignoring all the heat that they are getting, with Hassan focusing on winning the tournament

Then, *It Wasn’t My Fault* hits, and Gene Snitsky comes out to a solid pop from the crowd, as the hardcore champion comes down to face Hassan.

Match 1 – Mohammed Hassan w/Daivari vs. Gene Snitsky – Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match

Summary – A short match to start the show, which isn’t the best quality match that we have ever seen, with both men not being the greatest in the ring, but putting on a passable contest. Hassan does dominate most of the match, and Daivari does occasionally get involved on the outside of the ring to get Hassan a bit more heat, but he doesn’t get a quick win. Snitsky then makes a powerful comeback, but when he misses the big boot, Hassan nails Snitsky with the flatliner, and covers to pick up the win

Mohammed Hassan wins by pinfall at 4:12

Hassan celebrates his win, as the commentators talk about how terrible it would be if Hassan could main event Wrestlemania, although they do admit that he did look impressive in the ring tonight

The brackets for the tournament are then posted on the big screen, which gets a lot of attention

Quote:
Mohammed Hassan vs. Gene Snitsky
Christian vs. Chris Masters
AJ Styles vs. Shelton Benjamin
Charlie Haas vs. Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho (The loser of tonight’s main event)
Triple H vs. Tyson Tomko
Matt Hardy vs. William Regal
Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam
The Undertaker vs. Kenny (Spirit Squad)
The commentators then talk about the draw, and the potential great match ups that there could be, before we go backstage, where Todd Grisham is standing with Shawn Michaels

Todd: Shawn Michaels, later tonight…

Shawn: Blah, blah, blah, I know I am facing Chris Jericho, I know the WWE Title is on the line, and I know it is a Survivor Series rematch. But frankly, I don’t really care too much about it, when I know that Bret Hart still hasn’t accepted my challenge for a match. And getting my revenge on Bret Hart is all that matters to me at the moment

Heat

Shawn: So Bret, I know you’re probably at home at the moment, watching this show, so let me try this one more time. Bret Hart – I challenge you, to a one on one wrestling match with me, Shawn Michaels. You name the date, and I’ll take you on. The ball is in your court Bret, it’s all up to you. But tonight, I do face Chris Jericho for the WWE Title, and although not my priority, the heartbreak will be leaving this arena with the WWE Title

Heat

Shawn: You see, I am the showstopper, the main event, the icon, and even if I’m not focused 100% on winning, I still have far too much for Chris Jericho.

Heat

Shawn: The only reason I didn’t beat him at Survivor Series was because I got screwed, but tonight, it’s going to be a different story. And Jericho, be prepared to say goodbye to that title, because after I kick you teeth down throat, and get the 1, 2, 3, Shawn Michaels will be the new WWE Champion

Heat, as HBK walks off, looking focused on his match, even though he claims to want Bret Hart to come back and wrestle him

Commercial

We return from the commercial, and *I Am* hits, and out to the ring comes AJ Styles, to a nice pop from the crowd, as he makes his way out for his round of 16 match against Shelton Benjamin.

Then, *Aint no stopping me now* hits, and Shelton Benjamin comes out to the ring in a very cocky fashion, looking to pick up a win over AJ here. He comes down to the ring, and gets a bit of heat from the crowd

Match 2 – AJ Styles vs. Shelton Benjamin - Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match

Summary – A very good match, which both men going all out in the match in an attempt to win the match, but also to show the crowd what they can do in a wrestling ring, as the match goes quite long for a middle of the show encounter. Shelton manages to remain a cocky heel despite doing some very athletic moves, but he doesn’t quite do enough during his period of dominance to put AJ away, and then AJ fights back into the match when he nails a tornado ddt off the top rope. AJ then tries to gain a victory by nailing the pele kick, but Shelton kicks out of it, and then he rolls out of the way of the spinal tap. Shelton then fights back with the dragon whip and then a stinger splash. He then goes for the T-Bone, but AJ fights back out of it, and then he nails the Styles Clash, but Shelton gets a foot on the ropes. AJ the goes for another one, but Shelton lands a low blow to AJ, and then hits him with the T-Bone, but AJ gets his foot on the bottom rope. Shelton is furious, and then he goes for the springboard bulldog, but AJ moves out of the way, and then he rolls up Shelton and gets the 3 count

AJ Styles wins by pinfall at 13:27

The crowd give a good pop as AJ progresses to the quarter finals, while Shelton is aghast that he lost the match, and he cannot believe it. AJ holds his IC title in the air as he goes back up the ramp, while the commentators talk about what a great match that was

Commercial

We return from a commercial to find Todd Grisham set to interview Kurt Angle

Todd: Kurt Angle, earlier tonight we found out that you will face your old rival Rob Van Dam in the first round of the Road to Wrestlemania tournament, and that match will happen next week. Is there anything you would like to say?

Kurt: You know, it’s a good draw for me, because it allows me to do 2 things. Firstly, I know that I will easily make it through to the next round as I have beaten Rob Van Dam so many times before it isn’t funny any more. And secondly, I get to remove him from the tournament

Heat

Kurt: And Rob, you’re lucky the match is happening next week because it means that your Wrestlemania dream stays alive for 1 more week, until I extinguish it next week on Raw

Heat

Kurt: Rob, you may stand their and talk about how you really want the WWE Title and how you have waited your whole life to win it, but frankly Rob, on the big stage you know that you choke

Heat

Kurt: And you claim that you have the desire to win the title? Well guess what, I have it as well, and mine is a damn site greater than yours is. Oh it’s true Rob, it’s true. You see, unlike you, I have held the WWE title, and I know what that feeling is like. And I want that back!

Heat

Kurt: You next week Rob, prepare to have this feud between us ended for good, when I beat your ass out of the tournament when I break your freaking ankle

Heat

Kurt: Because Kurt Angle is going to Wrestlemania. The Olympic hero is going to add a 6th WWE Title reign to my crowning achievements. And you know it’s true, it’s damn true!

Kurt Angle then walks off, and we cut back to the commentators, who talk about the fire that Angle showed within him in that promo, and how the match with RVD next week should be a classic

We go back to the ring to find Charlie Haas is already in the ring, and has got a good pop from the crowd

Then, *Paparazzi* hits, and out come MNM to a decent amount of heel heat from the crowd, and they make their usual entrance to the ring with the paparazzi taking photos, as this grudge match is about to begin.

Match 3 – Charlie Haas vs. Joey Mercury w/Jonny Nitro and Melina

Summary – Another decent match here, with the match taking a very similar turn to the one that Haas had last week with Nitro, and it shows that MNM could work as single’s wrestlers if they ever broke up in the future. Haas though manages to battle more successfully against the interference of MNM this week, although after he hits the superkick, Melina pulls the referee out of the ring. Nitro then enters the ring, with him looking to hit Haas, only to be nailed with the superkick to a nice pop from the crowd. Haas then hits a german suplex to Mercury, and the referee returns to the ring to count the 3

Charlie Haas wins by pinfall at 4:56

Haas has his hands raised in victory after the match, and the commentators say how well he has done to overcome the distractions of MNM. They say that he will need to be this good next week when he faces either HBK or Jericho though

Commercial

We return from commercial, and then, *Just Close Your Eyes* hits, and out comes Christian and Tyson Tomko to a big pop from the crowd, as Christian’s match is about to begin. He comes down to the ring, and enters it, ready for Masters to make his entrance

Then, *Masterpiece* hits, and Chris Masters comes out to a good amount of boos, as he does his usual entrance of posing and showing off his muscles to the crowd. He can also see that Christian and Tomko are mocking Masters, by copying his poses in the ring, which gets a nice pop from the crowd

Match 4 – Christian w/Tyson Tomko vs. Chris Masters - Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match

Summary – A solid match here, which did its job on the show and put over both men, as it showed Masters could be a threat to a big name on his day as he gives Christian some trouble with his power. However, Christian manages to stay in the match, and manages to avoid the masterlock everytime that Masters goes to lock it in. Masters does get an advantage in the middle of the match, and he shows his array of power moves to the crowd, but he doesn’t get the pinfall. Then, after Christian nails the reverse ddt to Masters, the tide of the match turns, and from then on, Christian dominates most of what is happening. The end comes when Christian ducks an axe handle smash from Masters, and then nails him with the unprettier, getting the 3 count

Christian wins by pinfall at 7:47

Christian gets a big pop from the crowd after he wins the match, and he starts to celebrate in the ring when *King of Kings* hits, to a huge amount of heat, as Triple H comes out from the backstage area, and he has the sledgehammer in one hand, and his bottle of water in the other. He slowly comes down to the ring, while Christian and Tomko stand there, waiting for him to come down to the ring to find out what he wants

Triple H: Congratulations Christian, congratulations on making it through the first round of the Road to Wrestlemania tournament. I mean, Chris Masters is not an easy man to defeat, but you, you put in the match of your life to beat the guy

Heat, as HHH is being sarcastic

Triple H: And good luck in the next round against Mohammed Hassan, and once again, he isn’t a guy who is just going to roll over and let you beat him

Heat

Triple H: And Christian, after looking at the draw, it looks like you and me cannot fight each until the final, which really is a shame, because I was looking forward to kicking your ass and pinning you 1, 2, 3 just like I did last week on Raw

Huge heat

Triple H: And Christian, what know are you going to say to make yourself look good? In mean, you can’t now say that you’ve never lost to Triple H, and let’s face it, that was the only thing interesting about your career so far

Heat

Triple H: But next week, I take my first steps towards main eventing another Wrestlemania when I go one on one with Tyson Tomko, who coincidentally happens to be your problem solver. So Tomko, here’s a problem for you to solve… how does Christian defeat Triple H? … Oh wait, I shouldn’t set impossible questions like that

Heat

Triple H: Yes Christian, you may have fluked a victory over me in the past, but it will never happen again

Heat

Triple H: And last week, when I pedigreed your ass to the mat in the ring, and pinned you 1, 2, 3, I showed you why I am the cerebral assassin, the king of kings, the game, and am that damn good!

Heat, as Christian finally takes a microphone, points to his watch, and then starts to speak

Christian: I must congratulate you as well Hunter. Firstly, what a well prepared speech that was!

Pop

Christian: And secondly, for fulfilling that clause in your contract which says you have to come out here every week and ramble on and on for as long as you want, despite the fact nobody cares what you have to say

Huge pop

Christian: And Hunter, I wish you the best of luck in the tournament, because when you face Tyson Tomko next week you sure as hell are going to need it

Pop

Christian: You see Hunter, you may have beaten me last week, but that was in a tag team match. But I have beaten you not once, but twice in a one on one match, and if the boot was on the other foot, you’d be out here saying that last week didn’t count

Pop

Christian: But Hunter, I’m more than happy to take you on again in a match, and I’m more than willing to beat you once again just like I did at New Years Revolution

Pop

Christian: And just like I will do if we do by some fluke wrestle each other in the final of the tournament. So you better hope that you lose to Tyson Tomko next week, as if you do face me again, I will show everyone who the true kings of kings is

Pop

Christian: So good luck next week Hunter, but you know that if you face Captain Charisma again, you haven’t got a hope of winning the match. Because I am the one who is going to win the tournament, I am the one who is going to Wrestlemania, and I am the one who will be the next WWE Champion, because that’s how I roll!

Huge pop, as Christian’s music hits again, and he stands tall in the ring, while Triple H is furious that Christian has got the last word in against him, and once again appears to have got the better of him

Commercial

We come back, and we go backstage and we see The Teachers sitting in a classroom, with Striker and Nowinski having the tag title belts, and Alexis Laree the women’s title

Striker: Hello students, and in case you don’t know who we are, I am Matt Striker

Nowinski: I am Christopher Nowinski, Harvard graduate

Alexis: And I am Alexis Laree

Striker: And we are your teachers. And tonight, we are here to talk to you about respect.

Nowinski: From the day you are born, you are told by your parents that you need to respect your elders, and those who are better than you. And we qualify as those who are better than you

Striker: Just look at us, of course we are better than you. I mean, I am a former school teacher, and in my head alone, I have more brain cells than the rest of this state has

Nowinski: And me? I graduated with flying colours from Harvard, which for those of you who are unaware, is a university. And only smart people go to universities

Alexis: And I am the greatest women’s champion of all time. You see, every good teacher has an assistant, and that is what my job is. I am a shining example of what a women can achieve if she uses her brains to get somewhere.

Striker: And together, we are the most powerful unit in the WWE today, we are the most successful unit, and as so, deserve your respect

Nowinski: On our debut at Taboo Tuesday we became the WWE tag team champions, and since then, the titles have remained in our possession.

Alexis: And I took the women’s title at Survivor Series, and have beaten every diva worth a dime in this company since then

Striker: Now that shows that we are the most dominant team, in the WWE, and so, we command your respect

Nowinski: Now for those of you such as CM Punk and Kid Kash who don’t seem to respect us, then let us give you a little lesson in what will happen

Striker: What will happen is we will beat you down until you respect us. We will destroy you until you know what the word respect truly means. And we will not stop until you sing the word respect to us every time you hear our names

Nowinski: So you have a choice, you either respect us, or get your arses kicked

Striker: And that is today’s lesson…

All: And we are your Teachers!

We then cut back to the ring as the crowd are booing the Teachers for that promo. J.R and the King then talk about them, and how next week it has been announced that Punked for Kash will be guests on the Highlight Reel, and they will have a chance to respond to the comments of the Teachers

We can also see that William Regal is in the ring, and ready for his Road to Wrestlemania match

Then, *Oh Yeah* hits, and out comes Matt Hardy to a good pop from the crowd, and he makes his way down to the ring, looking to keep his dreams of going to Wrestlemania alive.

Match 5 – Matt Hardy vs. William Regal - Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match

Summary – Another match which is reasonably short, as it is becoming obvious that we are running out of time on Raw this evening, with the HBK/Jericho match still to come, and that match likely to be a long one. The match between these two is a solid match, but nothing special as it is never really allowed to get going. Hardy though comes off looking impressive, as his slow push up the card does continue it seems. He manages to reverse Regal’s attempt of the Regal Stretch, and then he nails him with the side effect, and then the twist of fate, as Hardy gets the win and goes into the quarter finals

Matt Hardy wins by pinfall at 4:19

Hardy gets a good pop from the crowd as he celebrates his win, and the commentators talk about how good he looked in the match, and how he is moving up the ranks, generally hyping him up

We then go backstage, and we find Steve Romero ready to interview Chris Jericho

Steve: Chris Jericho, in a few minutes you will be going one on one with Shawn Michaels for the WWE Title in what is a Survivor Series rematch. How confident are you that you will win the match and still be the champion at the end of the encounter?

Chris: How confident am I? I am as confident of winning this match as I am that you are the biggest assclown of an interviewer that has ever walked God’s green earth.

Heat

Chris: Why wouldn’t I be confident of winning this match? I mean, I’ve already beaten Shawn Michaels in a one on one match for the title. In fact, since I became champion at Summerslam, I have beaten John Cena, Christian, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Triple H, The Undertaker, all of them have challenged me to the title, and all of them have failed to take the belt off my gorgeous waist where it belongs

Heat

Chris: And it doesn’t matter whether Shawn Michaels thinks he is going to win the title tonight, because the only thing he will be doing tonight is tapping out.

Heat

Chris: You see, Michaels is more focused on getting Bret Hart to wrestle him than he is in facing me tonight, and that is his biggest mistake, because you should never, ever, underestimate someone as great as me

Heat

Chris: And Shawn Michaels, you better hope that Bret Hart does show up tonight and give you a reason to get out of your match with me, because if he doesn’t, I am going to give you a beating that you will never, ever, forget again!

Jericho walks off, still looking extremely cocky and confident that he can retain his title this evening

Commercial

We return from the commercial, and are reminded that Jericho vs. HBK is coming up very soon, but before this, we cut to a backstage area, and we see both men warming up, and making their way to the entrance, and then we cut into a video package for the feud (effectively the one that was shown at SS, but with the ending of that match shown)

However, just as the match is about to begin, and the entrances are going to happen, *One of a Kind* hits, and out comes Rob Van Dam to a big pop from the crowd, as the commentators are surprised to see him out here, as he wasn’t scheduled for the show

RVD: I bet you’re all think what the hell is RVD doing out here right now? Well I’m out here to re-affirm my intentions ahead of this WWE Title match

Pop

RVD: You see, next week I take on Kurt Angle in the Road to Wrestlemania tournament, and he will be the first step I take towards getting my title shot at Wrestlemania.

Pop

RVD: I’ve beaten Kurt Angle before, and next week, I guarantee that I will beat him again. You see, this tournament means everything to me, this tournament is what I am living for, because I need to be the WWE Champion

Pop

RVD: I need to finally be the man after all these years of not quite reaching the top of the mountain. I need to be able to say that I am the WWE champion. I need to know what it feels like to have a world title wrapped around my waist

Pop

RVD: And next week, when I take on Kurt Angle, I will do everything I can to win the match, and then to move on through the rounds to get the title match I deserve, I need, and I have to have

Pop

RVD: So here’s a message for all of those left in the tournament, and to whoever the WWE champion is. You better hope that you don’t have to face the whole damn show, Rob Van Dam, because if you do, I will take your arse to the extreme!

Huge pop, as RVD stands on the ramp, before his music hits again, and he leaves to go backstage

The commentators then talk about RVD, and how he has come so close to winning the title before, but never quite managing to win it

Then, *Sexy Boy* hits to a huge amount of boos from the crowd, as Shawn Michaels makes his way out to the ring. He comes down in his usual fashion, and prays to the skies, before entering the ring and getting ready to challenge Jericho for the belt

We wait a few seconds, and then, *5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Break The Walls Down* hits, and out comes Chris Jericho to a mixed reception from the crowd, with half of them booing him as he is still a heel, but he does get a lot of cheers as he is going against HBK. He comes down to the ring, and is very cocky and confident that he is going to keep the title

Match 6 – Chris Jericho © vs. Shawn Michaels – WWE Title

Summary – Now this is the kind of match that you want to be on the show more often, as it goes for over 20 minutes, and features some great wrestling from the two men who are desperate to win the match and the title. In fact, this is probably a better wrestling match than the one at SS, but is not as good with all the drama of the Bret Hart situation and it being in Canada taken out of the equation. Neither man is really a face in this situation which makes it a little bit awkward, but Jericho is the one who comes off more as the face as he was in the original program between the two of them. We get 5 minutes or so of mat wrestling to start the match, before it spills to the outside, and we get some nice spots like Jericho hitting the springboard dropkick to HBK to the floor, and then Jericho missing a moonsault and hitting the steel steps. HBK then takes advantage of this and he drags Jericho to the announce table and drapes Jericho over it, and then puts him through the table after hitting the elbow drop from the top turnbuckle to Jericho on the table. With both men down it is time for a commercial break, and when we return, HBK is dragging Jericho to the ring, and covers, only to get a 2 count as Jericho kicks out. HBK then goes to the tune up the band, but Jericho ducks the SCM shot, and then he nails the breakdown to HBK, but only gets a 2 count. Jericho then takes control of the match though, and he scores near falls after both the flashback and the moonsault. He then goes for the double powerbomb, but HBK counters it with a hurricanarana, and then as both men get up, he hits the flying burrito. HBK then comes out with the 5 moves of doom, and this time he does hit the SCM to Jericho, but Jericho manages to get his foot on the ropes and he breaks the count. HBK is furious, and he then goes and gets the title belt to finish Jericho off, but he ducks it, and then nails the bulldog onto the title belt. He goes for the lionsault, but HBK gets the knees up, and then he locks in the sharpshooter on Jericho, trying to make Jericho tap out to the submission move. HBK looks to be on the verge of making this happen, when *Hitman* hits, and straight away HBK drops Jericho, and turns towards the entrance, waiting for Bret Hart to come out to the ring and face him. Nobody comes out of the entrance ramp though, but a message does appear on the titantron, saying ‘be careful what you wish for, it might just come true.’ HBK smiles at the notice, with it possibly appearing that Hart is thinking about his challenge, and he turns around, looking for the SCM to Jericho, only to have it blocked by Jericho, who then locks in the Walls of Jericho on the challenger. HBK struggles to get to the ropes, and ever time to tries to make it to them, Jericho has the strength to pull him back to the middle of the ring. Eventually, HBK is out of options and he has to tap out in the middle of the ring, giving Jericho a legitimate submission win over HBK

Chris Jericho wins by submission and retains the WWE Title at 23:38

Jericho struggles to his feet, as he is given the title again, and he holds it up in the air, as he makes his way back up the ramp, having overcome another huge test as the champion. The camera then focuses on HBK, who looks to have nothing left after this battle, but a smile on his face, after seeing the comment of ‘be careful what you wish for, it might just come true’ has reappeared on the titantron

Forever-Delayed's Raw Review:

Ok start to the show, Road to WrestleMania tournament has kicked off and putting Hassan out there first seemed good. It makes everyone want to see who's going to beat him and take him out. Good choice here and we knew he was going to win anyways.

HBK as a Heel is good in here, but hopefully we don't see Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels at 'Mania, it seems we are though. I'm not really too much in seeing this as it's been done plenty of other places and quite frankly, it's got to be an overdone feud.

Kinda ashamed to see Benjamin not go ahead, Styles was of course going to win because he's the IC Champ. A good first round match but I still would have liked Benjamin to at least win his first round match. You don't always get what you want though!

I'm thinking we get an appearance next week from Rey Mysterio here on Raw to cost Angle the match. Certainly would make the feud progress along and make it that much better. Really, RVD seems like the only logical challenger to the title.

Haas and MNM's mini feud ended I guess, most likely HBK vs Haas takes place next week as I can't see HBK taking the title. Haas could even get an upset win if Hart was to appear or something of that nature, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Good win for Christian over the Masterpiece and the aftermatch promo seemed ok to me. Nothing too special but got the point across, Tomko vs HHH continues to further Christian and HHH which should be getting intresting very soon.

Guess we're getting some type of match between the Teachers and Punked for Kash come 'Mania. Can't really say what it will be but the buildup has been good other than it's been going for almost six months. Guess this will be the end come 'Mania.

Nothing much to comment on other than the fact Hardy gained a win and moves on next week. Maybe a little boost being the fact he defeated a veteran like Regal could help too. Don't see him going too far and guess he'll be facing a big name

Jericho promo was good, but seemed just like any other Jericho promo I've read here or at any other btb. Main event can't be too far away and it's been built well tonight with the HBK segment and now this, certainly a match to be looking forward to.

RVD promo was ok, couldn't picture him saying arse though. My prediction is that he does get the number one contendership, otherwise there's not really any other big name out there that can step up and challenge for the title that I can think of.

Main event was an all out brawl that showed how important the WWE Championship is. Ending was creative with the music but then a message up afterwards though I don't want Hart vs Michaels to happen, the buildup has been good so far.

Raw Review

Bischoff's Announcement:
Great way to kick off Raw with the GM announcing a World Heavyweight Championship Tournament! The following weeks should be huge!

Muhammad Hassan vs. Snitsky: Hassan picks up the obvious victory, and advances to the next round! I don't think he will go all the way, but it will be interesting to see where you take him!

HBK Promo: Good heel promo from Michaels! He won't win the title tonight, but he is looking very confident nether the less. It looks like a feud with Hart is in the works, hopefully yours stands out from the rest.

AJ Styles vs. Shelton Benjamin: The wrong man advanced here, but I suppose AJ's win was neccesary to keep the heel/face transition in the next round.

Kurt Angle Promo: A little out of character here, and some of the lines didn't seem to mix with the rest of the promo. I see Van Dam beating Angle next week, but we'll have to wait and see!

Charlie Hass vs. Jey Mercury: Hass finishes off the second member of MNM this week, and it looks like he will be facing HBK in what is sure to be an amazing match next week!(HBK wont win the title tonight!)

Christian vs. Chris Masters: A solid encounter, with Captain Charisma pickig up a big victory to advance. The HHH/Christian feud contniues to be built well, and I can't wait for the blow off match at Mania!

Teachers Segment: Good heel promo from this faction, and the Teachers/ Punked for Kash feud continues. I see a possible gimmick match at Mania!

Matt Hardy vs. William Regal: Great to see Hardy advance, and it love the push he is getting! I can see him invloved in a big match at Mania, though I don't think he will win the Tourney (I expect HHH to defeat him in the next round, although a Hardy win would be great)

Y2J Promo: Solid promo from Jericho, much like all the others from him. The main event is shaping up to be awesome, but I feel the champ will retain tonight!

RVD Promo: Solid from Van Dam, and I have a feeling he may defeat Angle next week!

WWE Championship: MOTN with out a doubt, with Jericho retaining his title! The Hart.Micheals feud only continues to grow, and I can't wait for the aftermath next week!

Overall: Another solid show from you, with the Road to Wrestlemain kicking into full gear! 8.5/10!

Road to WM tourny sounds good, and gives RAW their main man for WM, which I think will be Cena, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was Christian or HHH, or all 3

Hassan vs Snitsky? Filler of the brackets no doubt, and Hassan gets an easy victory, was it ever in doubt?

HBK wants Hart, obviously this is building to WM but with Wolfy also running this feud, I hope you takle the opportunity differently

I honestly thought Shelton would win this but it was not to be as Styles goes over, he is the IC champ, I still think these two will find their way into the MITB match at WM

Angle seems confident on beating RVD, I wonder when Rey is gonna show up to put their feud into the spotlight? Not keen on Rey at all, but you seem to want this match so atleast they'll put on a good contest

Haas gets some momentum behind him ahead of facing Y2J/HBK, I wouldn't be surprised if HBK gets through and Hart somehow robs him over Haas next week

Christian beats Masters fairly easily, and now he and HHH get into a war of words, I can really see these two feuding at WM, with one of them costing the other the final match against RVD perhaps?

Ugh, the Teachers. Ugh. Why was this included? I thought they might call out some challengers for their tag belts at WM

Hardy was always gonna win this one, although I can't see him going much further, I think he'll be another one in the MITB match

Strong words from Jericho, very in character interview

RVD is my pick to win this WM tourny, he really deserves a title match and I'm sure he'll get it, by winning this tourny

Big main event, and just when it looked like HBK had it sealed, Bret Hart's music hits, as a distraction, and Jericho slaps on the Walls and it's all over for HBK, who must be livid with Hart now. The message at the end however seems to have gotten Michaels' interest

Pretty good show, 8/10

Wow, this is the first review I am giving you since Survivor Series.

WWE RAW – February 6th

Length: Promos were long, matches were very detailed, especially the main event, and I do not have anything to knock off. 10/10

Spelling and Grammar: Too late for me to scrutinize, 10/10

Road to Wrestlemania tournament is not a new concept, but it works. I like that everyone is involved, not just the top tier guys. Matches for Wrestlemania can spring out of this like someone complaining they were ripped off, and then interfering in that person’s next match.

Match 1 – Mohammed Hassan w/Daivari vs. Gene Snitsky – Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match
Hassan defeats Snitsky, and I am sure he will rack up more victories along the way.

Good interview by a heel HBK. No chance he wins tonight, but something occurs to escalate the feud.

Match 2 – AJ Styles vs. Shelton Benjamin - Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match
Oh ho ho, great match up, and it is more than a good thing you have these guys thirteen and a half minutes. The two best you have possibly against each other on Raw!! Either man winning would have been fine, but I hope you remember Shelton when Wrestlemania rolls around.

I love the intensity of Kurt Angle. This has to be the final meeting between these two.

Match 3 – Charlie Haas vs. Joey Mercury w/Jonny Nitro and Melina
You may not be pushing Benjamin, but at least you have not forgotten about Haas as many people and the WWE tend to do. Haas is doing something, and I am glad to see it.

Match 4 – Christian w/Tyson Tomko vs. Chris Masters - Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match
You are not having big time match ups early, which is good because you want to save that for the final matches, with the exception of AJ Styles and Shelton Benjamin. Yes, the Unprettier gets the win! Christian should get far.

I see a Christian and HHH match at Wrestlemania, which will only get Christian more over and established as everyone is lying down for him. The face Christian is just so good, great promo, the lines made me laugh, especially this one:

Quote:
Christian: And secondly, for fulfilling that clause in your contract which says you have to come out here every week and ramble on and on for as long as you want, despite the fact nobody cares what you have to say
I love Matt Striker! He has the potential to be the best heel in the WWE. The gimmick is just excellent, I wanted to do it in my thread, but it would be straight out copying. Weird with Alexis Laree in there though.

Match 5 – Matt Hardy vs. William Regal - Road to Wrestlemania – Round 1 match
For the fourth straight match of the evening, a face has won the match, something that usually does not happen. Hardy is just going to be fodder next week though.

Heel vs. heel main event! I cannot wait for it!

Rob Van Dam is sort of out of place, but I like how you are hyping the match next week between them.

Match 6 – Chris Jericho © vs. Shawn Michaels – WWE Title
Whoa, that does seem like a great match with all the great spots, but I doubt it would be better than the one in Montreal at Survivor Series. I gave that match a 10/10.
I had a spooky feeling that ***Hart Attack*** would distract HBK into losing, and he even taps, which is something he could be doing at Wrestlemania.

Entertainment: How good it is to read a show from you again! Very entertaining, promos, matches, and everything. 9/10

Bottomline: Your promos were great, from Christian and HHH to Angle and RVD. I really liked them all with no complaints. You managed to deliver two exhilarating matches while balancing that with some not so exciting matches.
