Sounds great... I personally can't see how Umaga wont crush Rey Mysterio. Especially when Mysterio isn't at 100%...

The Rock vs. Mr. Kennedy

• The Rock and Mr. Kennedy have had their battles in the past – Kennedy defeating the Rock at Armageddon 2005, with the Rock getting his revenge at No Way Out 2006.

• After No Way Out, the Rock came out to the ring to say how disappointed he was that he wasn’t going to Wrestlemania and wouldn’t get a chance to win the World Heavyweight Title. He continued to speak in the vain that he might be leaving the WWE, only for Mr. Kennedy to interrupt him and tell him that no-one cares what the Rock thinks. Kennedy reminds the fans that last night the Rock lost, while Mr. Kennedy was victorious. Kennedy lists his achievements, saying he was the King of the Ring... but the Rock asks him what he’s done since. Kennedy continues to talk himself up, only for the Rock to interrupt him and says that if he wants to be the man then he should act like one. The Rock then challenges Mr. Kennedy to a match, which Kennedy accepts

• The following week sees the ‘match’ take place, but it never began because Kennedy beat down the Rock before the match could begin. Kennedy hit him time and time again with the microphone, before hitting the Green Bay Plunge onto a steel chair, with Kennedy asking the Rock what he thinks of that

• Kennedy was then involved in a Money in the Bank Qualifier against ??? (to be explained when the MITB match is announced) only to lose the match when the Rock’s music hit, allowing his opponent to score the victory over him. Kennedy was livid and told the Rock to bring his candy ass to the ring and face him

• The Rock did this, but at Saturday Night’s Main Event, coming to the ring to cut a promo. The Rock told Kennedy that he would be facing him again... but on the grandest stage of them all at Wrestlemania. The Rock told Kennedy to accept the match and then to go on and beat him... because would make him the man he thinks he is. Kennedy accepted the match, but then walked again, claiming he wants the Rock to have no excuses when he wins at Mania

• The Rock and Mr. Kennedy each cut promos on each other the following 2 weeks, with the Rock not being at 1 of the shows (appearing via satellite). Kennedy played up his own undefeated Wrestlemania streak (of 1), saying that he will keep his streak going and send the Rock back to the Z-rate movies where he belongs

• The final Smackdown saw The Rock and Mr. Kennedy team up to take on Scotty 2 Hotty and Tajiri, with the Rock scoring the pinfall on Tajiri to get the win after a Rock Bottom. After the match Kennedy went to hit the Rock with a chair, but got hit with the Rock Bottom instead. Kennedy was left looking like a fool while the Rock stood tall over Kennedy.

The Rock versus Kennedy should be epic, and I can't wait for it. The card for 'Mania is really starting develop, and I'm in love with it.

Rock/Kennedy should be good. Rock putting over the most overrated loudmouth is smart. Atleast KK can look "realistic" in one thread.

Stabs at Mac are fun tbh.

The card is taking shape and some more matches on their way, promises to be a great Mania in the works.

So far so good, the Wrestlemania card is looking pretty awesome. Lesnar/Taker is going to be a huge match and is probally the first time in a BTB that i could consider Undertaker will lose. Angle v Batista, Rock v Kennedy and Umaga v Mysterio also sound like pretty damn good matches. The only drawback about Christian v Edge is that it has been done billions of times before, but still is a WM Main event worthy match. Looking forward how the rest of the card looks like.

Thanks... always nice to have some appreciation for the card (and out of the 5 matches still to come, 4 of them are big matches (and 1 is a rematch of my favourite match from this thread... those of you who know the thread should know what the match is))

Or this could be the start of Kennedy getting the world's biggest push and then winning a Wrestlemania main event with a roll up... (Mac's a top booker though... just not a fan of the push Kennedy got and the way he has been handled)

What about last year... RVD had a great shot at beating Taker (well... not really). Liking the fact there is doubt over the Taker/Lesnar match as to whether Taker will win or not, which means its been booked well

The next match will be announced later tonight (to make up for the fact I missed a couple of days). It is probably the weakest match on the card (in terms of star power) and unless you know the history of the thread it won't immediately make any sense as to why it has been booked

Current Wrestlemania 23 Card

World Heavyweight Title
Edge (c) w/Lita vs. Christian w/Tyson Tomko and Maria
Awesome match despite having been done before by other BTBs. It hasn't been done here, and it has great a great long term story, and is a match both men deserve. Although it is becoming a bit meh'ish always seeing "Christian w/ Tyson Tomko and Maria". I think I am ready for Tomko to hit the bricks, tbh. Still can't envision WrestleMania ending with Christian, Tomko and Maria in the ring, as it did last year.

Intercontinental Title
Umaga (c) w/Armando Alejandro Estrada vs. Rey Mysterio
Loving this match up. Classic David vs. Goliath. Can't wait.

Tag Champions vs. Tag Champions
MNM (c) w/Melina vs. Londrick (c)
Another match that will be great to see. Two teams that never got the Mania spot they've deserved in real life. Great to see them used here.

Hell in a Cell
Retirement Match
Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker
Totally cool with Lesnar vs. Taker. Perhaps it should be Streak vs. Career, instead of just a career ending match, as Taker will obvioulsy win. Not liking a Hell in a Cell at Mania. I know it happend once, but wrestling was over the top then, and the idea of it is still over the top now. I just can't see the Mania arena housing a Cell hanging from the ceiling. Perhaps it should have been a casket match or a Last Ride Match or something. It will be entertaining nonetheless.

Street Fight for control of the WWE
Stone Cold Steve Austin is the Special Guest Referee
Vince McMahon w/The McMahon Family vs. Eric Bischoff w/Jonathon Coachman
This should be greatly entertaining, and is a match and story definitely worthy of a Mania build. Won't be a technical showing at all, but the fun factor should be there for sure.

Kurt Angle vs. Batista
Should be a good match. Haven't read the backstory, but Angle should certainly help bring the best out in big Dave.

The Rock vs. Ken Kennedy
This will be a good match too. Certainly the microphone buildup to the match would be the best part of the scenario, so it's unfortunate we won't be seeing that. The match won't be the greatest technical match ever, but it should be decent enough. Please let at least one of them cut a promo during the show. Gotta agree with my life partner Renegade though, KK is SOOOOO overated.

I'll pass along thoughts on the other bouts as you announce them, and give predics when the time comes. Good luck friend.

Thanks for the comments on the card so far... I can see the point about the Hell in a Cell match at Wrestlemania, but there hasn't been one for such a long time that it makes it out to be an even bigger match than it is. And to be honest, booking a HITC match won't be the most controversial thing about the booking for the ppv... looking forward to see some of the comments on another match which will be announced to see just how people respond to it

Something will be happening with Charismatic Productions sooner rather than later, so that should hopefully freshen up Christian's character

And I'm also in the camp that Kennedy is overated... but still he is the kind of person who can benefit from facing the Rock at Wrestlemania, especially with the storyline that is planned for him

CM Punk vs. Kid Kash

• CM Punk and Kid Kash have a long history together. In July 2005 they joined the WWE as a rookie tag team called Punked for Kash, and together they won 2 WWE Tag Team Titles, the second of those reign coming last year at Wrestlemania

• They never lost the titles, but were stripped of them when Kid Kash was drafted to Smackdown in the draft lottery. Since then, CM Punk has gone on to hold the Intercontinental Title for 5 months before losing it to Umaga, while Kid Kash has held the Cruiserweight Title since August.

• They had previously had some interaction at PPV’s... at Summerslam they met up with Kash making fun of the fact Punk hadn’t become IC champion, only for Punk to mention that at least he was on the show. At the Royal Rumble Kash mockingly congratulated Punk on joining him with a title, but Punk’s response was to show him with number which meant he could go to Wrestlemania, while Kash wasn’t even in the Rumble

• After Umaga had beaten CM Punk at SNME, Kash came over to see Punk who had been battered and bruised. Kash held up his Cruiserweight Title in front of him and told him at least one of them was still a champion.

• On the following Smackdown Kash came out and said he felt he had done all he could in the Cruiserweight division. He listed the names of all the people that he had defeated in his reign as champion, but finished by saying that he still gets no respect from anyone for his achievements. He complains that he wasn’t given a chance to compete in the MITB qualifiers, he wasn’t involved in the Road to Wrestlemania tournament, and he doesn’t have a suitable challenger to his title at Wrestlemania. He mentioned that all week the questions he’s been asked haven’t been about him but about his former partner, CM Punk, and how he’s doing after losing to Umaga. He says he sick of the treatments he’s got and he is going to do something about it

• On Raw CM Punk cut a backstage promo where he was asked about the comments made by Kid Kash about him on Smackdown. Punk said that he doesn’t know what Kash is on about, but mentions that since he moved to Smackdown he’s changed. Punk says that if he wants some respect then he needs to win at Wrestlemania... to which Punk challenges him to a match

• Kash accepted the challenge on Smackdown, and told Punk that he was going to go the same way as the rest of his opponents he had faced

• The two of them finally got in a ring together on the final Raw when Kash came over to ‘shake his former partners hand’. The two of them did shake hands, only for Kash to go back on his word and hit Punk with the title belt. He then covered him and counted to 3, signifying the scene that we will see at Wrestlemania this Sunday.

The card looks great Forever. I apsolutely can't wait for Mania! Everybody knows i am a huge Rock fan(By my username) so you know i can't wait for Kennedy vs The Rock! That match would be very good to see in real life, becuae they both have really good mic skills. Can't wait for tomorrows match. Then MANIA!!! Can;t wait for the event, and i will be reading even if it is in recap.

You were right about this match being the lowest match of the card, but it's great that there's still quite a bit of depth to it.
