Brown bag soaked in vinegar, sounds weird and burns like hell but will pull all the stinging situation out by the next day.

Ointments really sit on the skin and occlude the skin," says Paula Moskowitz, a dermatologist at Brown University. "It doesn't allow the pores to breathe, and it doesn't allow the heat to escape as well."

She says if you're going to use aloe vera, it should be 100 percent aloe vera in a gel form and it should be kept chilled.

She advises against using ice, which could injure the skin even more, and says taking ibuprofen is a good idea. It's an anti-inflammatory that can reduce that burning feeling.

The direct subject change in this thread more or less represents a metaphor for this section as a whole lately.

I use banana boat aloe vera and just keep my skin hydrated by putting water on my skin, moisturising. Maybe if it's too bad go swimming and it should sort your skin out, well it does sort mine out.
