Re: Politicians you like/hate?
Well, I have several politicians I like, several I don't like and several I've met in person.
Ronald Reagan A great speaker and a great guy. I don't buy that his policies were bad for or purposely against the poor. My Mother was a poor, single mother, registered nurse, in the eighties. Reagan's tax cuts helped her greatly.
Pierre Trudeau I found this guy on YouTube and became obsessed with him for a while. He had a way of combining a unique, playful style mixed with intellectual thought. I don't see any of him in his son, not the charisma or intelligence.
Houston Mayor Bill White I attended a city council meeting just to meet him. He was an out of the box thinker who would use public/private partnerships to get things done cheaply.
Ted Cruz I met him....while campaigning for his opponent. He walked up to me as I was volunteering at a debate. He knew we were all campaigning for his opponent but he walked up to us and shook our hands anyways.
David Dewhurst The man who I campaigned for against Cruz for the Texas senate seat. He is now Texas Lieutenant Governor and I am glad to have him. Texas Lieutenant governor has a lot of power over the Texas legislature that handles the budget. This year we decided how to spend a large surplus, I am glad he was at the helm for that.
Rick Perry I met him before he ran for president. He has a country swagger and country slur when he speaks. When he ran for president I wrote in my blog that the only reason he was popular was because Texas was getting a good reputation with respect to it's economy, which at the time was what everybody wanted, a better economy. I predicted that as people got to know his personality they wouldn't like him. I was right.
Michelle Bachmann You can just see in her eyes that she is insincere, one of the politicians who capitalize on religion to get themselves ahead, to me, that is the lowest of the low. If God wants you to be a successful politician he will take you there. You don't need to capitalize on religious positioning in order to gain votes.
