So, it's that time of year again kids...

As all of us in the relevant age brackets will no doubt be aware, Exam Season is well and truly upon us once again. Most forums I have seen have had a thread for talking about assignments and blowing off steam, so why not start one here? This thread can serve for anyone who wants to talk about whatever work they're putting off by coming here instead.

I'll start - I spent all of Mon and the majority of today compiling a 2500 word masterpiece under the title of "What are the limitations of discussing films in term of 'The National'?" for my World Cinemas module. It's worth 60% of my grade for this subject for this semester, so handing it in is quite a terrifying thought.

I'm finding it hard to get out of the essay writing mindset recently, so apologies if any of my forthcoming posts on "Why the Shield totally SUX" or other random threads are a little wordier than they should be..

All finished with my exams. Did pretty good on all of them except for one.

My final exam is Friday, I've passed every class before I even went into the exam.

Well, I have two more tests to make up once this cast comes off as its Police Use of Force training. Other than that though, Friday is my last day in college. Then its on to take the ministry security licence test with my friend, get a random security job for a few years, lift a bit, and then apply for Ontario Power Generation's anti-terrorism task force.

I was in the same boat the last time I did exams - I failed one by ONE MARK, and was given the option to resit it. Since resits are capped at 40(minimum pass) and I was sitting on 39, I decided not to put myself through another semester of work for that little gain. Still undecided if it was the right call though

I only have one Two questions, two hours on either USA, German or Indian history.

Sidenote - I hate exams. It doesn't work for me. I read crap for a week, I write about it for two hours and then forget it. With coursework, I have to do more of my own reading and get more involved with the topics so I form stronger opinions and it sticks.

I'm exactly the same way Snowman - something in my brain just rejects the idea of revising for a single exam. I can't stand revising and revising, blowing my load on one day's exam and then instantly forgetting everything from the year. On the other hand, I properly enjoy researching and writing essays (nerd alert). My lecturers respond positively to my writing style, and I get to put all my pretentious eloquence into a forum where it will actually be appreciated and graded. I wish all final exams could be essays instead. I don't excel in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of an exam

Glad I finished all my coursework about a month back but now have my five final year exams coming up on for my modules in international marketing, marketing communications, organisational analysis, strategic management and developing business knowledge. Find it so hard to focus and revise for my exams. Like snow I never remember any of the stuff I learned on the build up but only remember it for the 3 hours I end up being in the exam.

Re: So, it's that time of year again kids...

Thank God I'm done college, I graduated last week and it's been a blast, I've just been doing interviews this week for a full time position, currently only have part time.

No more exams for me, I worked hard and now I can go on with other stuff in life.

Re: So, it's that time of year again kids...

The final assignment for my English class is a 2000 word essay. That's technically the bad news (even though it's pretty to channel all of my thoughts once I'm in the mindset). The good news is that the subject is fairly easy, about the most important, life-changing event in human civilization. I got that in the bag.
