North Korea dramatically escalated tensions with America tonight by warning it had approved nuclear strike plans.

"The moment of explosion is approaching fast," the North Korean military said, warning that war could break out "today or tomorrow".

In response, President Obama ordered a ballistic missile defence system be moved to the nearest U.S. military base to the rogue state.

The U.S. defence system will move to Guam, the nearest American military base to North Korea, 2,000 miles south east of Pyongyang in the Pacific Ocean.

U.S. defence secretary, Chuck Hagel, said: “Some of the actions they have taken the last few weeks present a real and clear danger and threat to the interests of our allies starting with South Korea and Japan.

“Also there have been threats the North Koreans have leveled at our base in Guam and Hawaii.”

He added: "We are doing everything we can to defuse that situation on the peninsula.

"I hope the North will ratchet this very dangerous rhetoric down," he said, adding that there is a way to peace but only if Kim Jong Un decides to be "a responsible member of the world community."

The U.S. had earlier moved two warships to the western Pacific to be on alert for missiles and conducting bomber and fighter flyovers

The latest ploy by rogue nuclear state was banning South Korean workers from the jointly run Kaesong industrial zone.

More than 800 South Koreans who had stayed overnight at the complex were being allowed to return home, but that new workers were not being allowed across the border.

Kaesong, a major source of income for the impoverished, communist North, is home to 124 South Korean companies that employ 53,000 North Korean workers in a cross-border, heavily fortified joint enterprise.

Permission is granted on a daily basis for South Korean workers to cross into the complex, situated in the North.
FUCK! should we be worried?!

First, Korea doesn't have the guts to do it. Second, their delivery system probably isn't advanced enough to get over to America without us detecting it and intercepting it. Third, China wouldn't take a country shooting nukes and risking Korea getting hit in response, so they would likely threaten action if Korea tried.

The US bases in South Korea and in Japan are far closer to North Korea than Guam. It seems we hesitate and prefer to have a longer time to destroy the missiles. It's real that the THAAD system has never been used in a war yet.

Does it mean that we actually fear the North Korean missiles ?

I'm going to bet that China steps in soon and politically bitch slaps N. Korea soon. Either way, N. Korea isn't prepared or even capable for this kind of war.

CNN doesn't like to report on anything that might be viewed as damaging to the Obama Administration and making him look bad.

Also - North Korea won't do shit, but they'll run their mouth a bit. They couldn't even beat Texas in a war, much less the entire country. They would be stupid to attack Japan or South Korea because the United States would retaliate...and unlike Iraq, we wouldn't be looking to occupy and rebuild.

North Korea already decided to close Kaesong Industrial Complex on 30th March according to the blog Northkoreanleadershipwatch. So this closing isn't at all an aggressive provocation or a freaking unannounced move.

Seriously, Pyongyang is back to the wall and in a defensive position.

The 12th Supreme People’s Assembly [SPA] decided today that :

The DPRK is a full-fledged nuclear weapons state capable of beating back any aggressor troops at one strike, firmly defending the socialist system and providing a sure guarantee for the happy life of the people.

Having an independent and just nuclear force, the DPRK put an end to the distress-torn history in which it was subject to outside forces’ aggression and interference and could emerge a socialist power of Juche which no one dares provoke.

The Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK decides to consolidate the position of the nuclear weapons state as follows:

The nuclear weapons of the DPRK are just means for defence as it was compelled to have access to them to cope with the ever-escalating hostile policy of the U.S. and nuclear threat.

They serve the purpose of deterring and repelling the aggression and attack of the enemy against the DPRK and dealing deadly retaliatory blows at the strongholds of aggression until the world is denuclearized.

The DPRK shall take practical steps to bolster up the nuclear deterrence and nuclear retaliatory strike power both in quality and quantity to cope with the gravity of the escalating danger of the hostile forces’ aggression and attack.

The nuclear weapons of the DPRK can be used only by a final order of the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army to repel invasion or attack from a hostile nuclear weapons state and make retaliatory strikes.

The DPRK shall neither use nukes against the non-nuclear states nor threaten them with those weapons unless they join a hostile nuclear weapons state in its invasion and attack on the DPRK.

The DPRK shall strictly observe the rules on safekeeping and management of nukes and ensuring the stability of nuclear tests.

The DPRK shall establish a mechanism and order for their safekeeping and management so that nukes and their technology, weapon-grade nuclear substance may not leak out illegally.

The DPRK shall cooperate in the international efforts for nuclear non-proliferation and safe management of nuclear substance on the principle of mutual respect and equality, depending on the improvement of relations with hostile nuclear weapons states.

The DPRK shall strive hard to defuse the danger of a nuclear war and finally build a world without nukes and fully support the international efforts for nuclear disarmament against nuclear arms race.

The related institutions shall take thorough practical steps for implementing this ordinance.
Alright there are only words, but they are words that go in a peaceful direction. They decided to speak about nukes openly and publicly. I won't talk about indirect peacetalk, but almost.

North Korea doesn't know how to communicate and USA doesn't know how to understand North Korea. At this very moment, USA is posturing aggressively (moving two THAAD batteries, nuclear submarines and destroyers near Guam) and didn't hesitate to push its military exercises with South Korea in a tense situation (even Bush Jr. chose to cancel them in the past).

North Korea tries to calm down the situation and begs for peace. I don't know who is recklessly and stupidely provoking who ...

Whenever North Korea starts talking trash, I think of the old school line "talking loudly but not saying anything".

Exactly. Which is why I'm trying to figure out why the news is wasting time even reporting these stories. Plus some movies have been coming out portraying the main antagonist as North Korean. Maybe this all is leading up to something...

The only worrying thing about all this is that our "world leaders" still insist on behaving like kids fighting in a playground. Sort your shit out guys, and if you really must go to war, just kill each other rather than sending normal innocent people out to do your dirty work for you. But that's another story...

We could end all this dick-measuring in one fell swoop.

ONCE IN A LIFETIME. REDEMPTION VS LEGACY. OBAMA VS JONG-UN

THISSSSSS SUUUUUUUNNNNNNDAY....!

No-holds barred, one-fall match, win by pinfall or submission. Loser disarms all nuclear capability. (or "nuclear capability", however the case may be.)

OR, if that's not enough of a draw: Nuke on a Pole match :russo
