I've met lots of people from online, mostly friendly get togethers (i.e., we're friends from a game or a forum and we met up for lunch during a trip.) And no one has really not been what they purported themselves to be. If you're looking to date, keep it local and don't waste too much time. And don't angle for dates in your friends' social networks. That's creepy.

Yeah, I met some girl who saw my myspace page and decided to get ahold of me for some reason and we ended up hanging out quite a bit that summer and then I never saw or heard from her again.

CP, no I did not rape or kill her. didn't even screw her, although the thought crossed my mind. She just went back to school in the fall and when I tried to get a hold of her a few months later never heard back from her.
She could be dead though, I have no idea.
