Spongebob isn't a terrible show but there's no reason why it should still be on for 14 years.

Re: Everything has been going downhill since the 90's

I remember back in the 90's, especially the early-mid 90's, there was a lot of good Saturday morning cartoons on. There was the Tazmanian Devil, Rugrats, Smurfs, Beavis and Butt-Head and a lot of other great cartoons. There was TGIF on Friday evenings too, like Full House and Family Matters. The 90's was also a great time for movies and video games, and WCW and WWE.

In 2013 though... it seems like everyone is just on the Internet or an Iphone now - and that's it. You turn on the TV at any time now... and very few shows or cartoons will be worth watching... horror movies are just average slasher films now. Comedy shows are not funny anymore. Almost no one reads print books, or plays board games anymore... but are just on the Internet instead.

The 90's had the best cartoons, best movies, best TV shows, best games, etc. It was much simpler back then and things have become so different now because of new technology.

Re: Everything has been going downhill since the 90's

I reckon it may have something to do with age, although I agree things these days seem SHOCKING to the 90s.

Music - I'm an RnB fan and it is terrible nowadays with hardly any released and more Pop/Dance. Thought its started getting worse since late 09'ish though. Even rubbish artists were releasing lots of tunes and Hip-Hop/Rap was 1000x better IMO. Pop is shocking, I'm not a fan of Take That, their popularity was warranted. All of this with One Direction is so annoying. On twitter the amount of trends based on following a shitty member from a shitty pop group gets slightly annoying after the 543rd time.

Football - Money dictates the game more than ever before. It takes the fun out of the game with the only shocks being a mid-table side finishing in a European spot or relegation candidate finishing mid-table. Bradford this season were a MASSIVE surprise and enjoyment to watch, which makes me miss football how it was from the late 90s to the early 00s. Don't get me started on the England team...

Movies - Apart from Batman and Inception over recent years I can't remember the last time I saw a DECENT horror or true life story; especially not in the last 5 years. American Gangster and most of Will Smith's films do it for me but there haven't been any that encourage me to watch them for ageeeeees.

Social - How amazing would it be without Twitter / Facebook etc. Imagine seeing people you haven't heard about for a while. I am a user of Twitter but I think it kills many social levels in itself. I don't want to be constantly updated by other people I know but don't sees movement every 25 minutes. The days of a mobile phone with just phoning and texting.

I'd give a hell of a lot to go back in time to play on my PS1/2 in primary/secondary school watching Raw Is War on a Friday night and getting excited for a PPV on the Sunday night/Monday morning. Being old sucks.

Rant overrrr.

Of course technology got better. But personally, I think humans didnt learn how to use them moderately. I truely believe, that things like smartphones and overuse of internet is rotting our society and ethics.

On another note: Fuck Spongebob!
