I don't have a problem with spiders, actually find them to be incredibly interesting, but this just freaked me the fuck out. Imagine waking up one morning and stepping outside to see the scene in the video beneath the quote.
From The Independent website:
Quote:
In scenes which will haunt anyone with an aversion our eight-legged friends, hundreds of spiders have begun dangling from telegraph poles in the southern Brazilian town of Santo Antônio da Platina.
Footage posted online yesterday shows the fairly sizable animals, identified as Anelosimus eximius, in one massive web.
A local biologist told Gawker that the "social spider" species is known for its very big colonies and "sheet webs," and said such a mass dangling is "normal."
The species normally inhabits tropical environments throughout South America. Scientists say social spiders work in teams to catch their prey.
creepy, reminded me of this, few years ago floods in pakistan sent millions of spiders into the trees, formerly territorial species start working together to turn the landscape into a prog rock album cover http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...er-trees-webs/
Arghh, that's creepy. Im not a fan of spiders. They are HUGE as well.
Imagine walking underneath that....
Fuck, I be walking under fully made webs sometimes man. Trust me, it's a VERY uncomfortable feeling. But to walk on that massive web will be a nightmare.
