Re: What are your views on smoking?
Nasty habit but I couldn't care less. Long as I'm not in a small, closed room or car with 'em.

Re: What are your views on smoking?
Smoking is plain bad period. It has no benefits in life overall your killing yourself slowly getting closer to probably getting cancer and harming your health, also its a stupid way of throwing money.

Re: What are your views on smoking?
Smoking is unhealthy and stupid. It doesn't matter whether you have nothing better to do or not, because there are many things that you can do besides smoking. I often reach a point where I'm extremely bored and have absolutely nothing to do, but smoking is the absolute last thing on my mind at a situation like that. Smoking is an extremely dumb choice that "rewards" you with lung cancer, breathing problems, a shortened life span, and more, if you can even call those rewards. On top of all that, the scent that comes from a cigarette fucking stinks, and wasting tons of money on packs of cigarettes is one of the dumbest choices you can make.

Re: What are your views on smoking?
I used to smoke. First tried a cigarette when I was 13 and got hooked. Struggled to quit for a long time from 18-22 but haven't smoke regularly for four years and not at all for 18 months. I feel much better for quitting. The thing that put me off wanting to start again more than anything else was when I started to notice how bad other smokers stunk, obviously being a smoker had limited my sense of smell (especially of smoke) before this.
It's a stupid habit that nobody really needs to have, but a combination of marketing and peer pressure can have a strong effect on the impressionable. There are other safer ways to relax, many of which are long term solutions rather than short term drug related fixes.
I don't have a problem with those who smoke and it would be hypocritical of me to do so, but I don't want to be around smokers now because of the risks of second hand smoke and the smell that lingers. The oddest thing was when they bought the smoking ban (for pubs and other venues) into England, it was normal at one stage to be in a room full loaded ash trays and smokey air. That was definitely a good move to shift us all outside, but it still seemed strange for a while because it wasa such a normal thing for people to smoke inside public venues at the time. Now many people would be genuinely shocked or offended by that.

Re: What are your views on smoking?
My best friend got hooked on smoking, he's 17 and his brother is 18, but both of them stopped for the New Years, kind of a resolution in a way I guess. The thing is I really tell him to stop and say it's not good and stuff but he had a pack, but we were staying at my grandmas someday inbetween Christmas and New Years Eve, and he said he needed to go out and smoke a cig and I didn't want to be bored inside or feel left out so I went with him. We did this about four or five times during the night, about every hour. I wasn't inhaling each hit and the times I did I got a little headrush and it was kind of fun, but I mostly just did smoke tricks and stuff like that. It's very hipocritical of me I realize, but well we were smoking we were both talking about how bad it is for us, and I explained to him why I would never do it being that I really need my lungs especially for hockey and everything, and he said that's a good point. I said he should try to get into something to get his mind off of smoking and he said that's a good idea, he then let me know that he's joining a soccer team for his school (yes we call it soccer here in 'murrica). He said he's only smoked about 2 cigarettes this year when he used to do a pack a day, I'm pretty proud of him assuming he's telling the truth. But the last few cigs we did I inhaled every hit and accidentally swallowed smoke and it made my stomach go crazy and I felt awful... I let out a giant burp and things were cool again but that feeling was awful so I don't like it. I felt no effects from it that were good besides a head rush, and there were a lot more to do. In the end I'd only smoke cigars where you don't inhale, or some mary mary mary.
