I know a number of unemployed British people who have said they would rather have no job then take a minimum wage job or a shit job.
I know a number of British people who have left school and don't stand a chance of getting even unskilled jobs, simply because there are so many people applying for them.
The population is getting out of control and immigration is the primary reason for that. That's a fact. There's no denying it. Of course that doesn't excuse the laziness of way too many Brits but there you go.
Now when it comes to skilled jobs, people tend to throw in the " we need foreign workers because British people can't do these jobs" line, and in theory that's true. But why is there a shortage of skilled British youth ready to step into professional positions? One answer is a pathetic, inefficient education system. There are a host of other underlying social issues aswell. Ultimately when you think about it, the "need" for skilled foreign workers, is actually a quick fix, cop out sort of solution to these problems. The country needs to keep moving though, so it's no surprise.
The immigration debate is one that has been latched on to by left and right wing pricks, who seem to select certain parts of it that suit their own deluded agendas. Because of this, it never ends well and I'm staying out of it from now.
