Even so, it would be beneficial to have someone in office who actually saw these problems coming about a decade or so in advance (and still foresees major problems down the road) then someone who acts like everything is fine while giving Americans a false sense of security, all the while a big fiscal bomb is about to explode. Because of this, a lot of people are going to be left unprepared when it explodes.
If all else at least, a hypothetical President Paul would have been able to end (at least for the time being) America's terrible foreign policy and vetoed any bad spending bills, while trying to work with Congress (seeing as he doesn't believe in Executive Orders, unlike Barry) to cut spending. Would it work? I don't know, but at least we would have had someone in office who at least is trying to bring America back from the ledge; not someone who keeps shoving America FORWARD towards that ledge.
