Once you have the mechanism to explain the great variety of life on earth, you just need to explain those building blocks. That's where our work needs to be done. Abiogenesis and the like are the fields we really need to hit hard.
Creationism is not having all the answers, so you make up an answer that fits all those gaps. It's absurd.

Evolution is just a theory. It's just the popular opinion for how we think it works. Does that mean that's how things actually work? I don't think we'll ever know. Evolution has as much "credence" as creationist thought because neither can ever be proven wrong. As humans, all we can ever do is try and figure out how the world works. It's a fun mental exercise, but there are so many factors that we don't know even exist yet, who knows what we think we'll discover down the line, that I'm not comfortable accepting anything as a 100% fact.
Also, I'd say the poll is skewed to who is more likely to answer polls, idiots.
