People like him cause the problems in the world because they lack the guts to actually stand up to evil, instead they see the wicked as merely having a different opinion. Anything to get out of a fight, eh Charlie?

I'm unloved, I'm unnatural, nice to fucking know. Prick.

You'll probably be inclined towards this kind of thing then:

(just audio, but fucking brilliant)

Can't leave Malcolm X out of a speech thread either, as delivered by Denzel:

Re: Greatest Speech Ever?

Fucking love that movie.

I'd give a nod to the speech in Braveheart too.

What on Earth are you talking about, seriously? What is this evil he is not standing up to? Who are these people with differing opinions that he has supposedly called wicked?

I've seen this film far too many times.

I think you're missing the point of that speech, he's speaking on the human condition, and how our vices throw us into moral corruption. He's right, and that's the very epitome of standing up to 'evil'. No need for this sanctimonious shit. I don't see how someone could despise that speech. To me that's unfathomable.

Re: Greatest Speech Ever?

Also everything he said about how soldiers give themselves to brutes and are treated like cattle and used as cannon fodder is directly applicable today.

It's this whole ethos of 'international brotherhood'. This idea that nations and borders are a bad thing and that we can simply close the door on all our worse impulses.
Humans are animals, like any other. Do you think the Lion tries to reason with a rival male when it strolls into his Pride? Does the Lion try to talk his enemy out of murdering him and his children?

We are animals, we hate, we kill, we fight and we repeat the same cycle again and again. It keeps the numbers down, it is an endless cycle of death and it is inbuilt to our genes. Humans started families, families started tribes, tribes started nations, nations started Empires.
It is natural.

The truly unnatural thing is what Mr. Chaplain was preaching. Peace and love, hugging rainbows and fucking unicorns. Humans were not born to live peaceful lives, I think we're meant to be miserable and I think as a species we're meant to fight one another - just as one colony of ants will attack another.
