You can still inflict some serious damage. You don't need a gun to kill someone.
It's just ironic that he puts his trust in people with guns but wants to put his foot down and the everyday joe having one because a few fucked up people decide they want to blow a school away.
Of the people who shot someone today, how many gun owners were responsible with their weapons? A far, far greater number of people carry and use their guns in a responsible manner. That is why guns are not the issue and fucked up people are.

Sure there are responsible people with guns, no ones denying that but its far to easy to get a gun. Hell, you can get a gun simply by opening a bank account in some areas. Sorry but guns do kill , its a weapon used for killing. What else are guns for? For show and tell? There needs to be harder to get a license, plenty of psych tests etc to be able to be reviewed to get one. And only then should you only be able to get a handgun, not assault rifles or snipers that can be acquired. Its ridiculous

So you're saying that the President of the United States who works FOR THE PEOPLE needs armed security, but the people who he works for should be devoid of such protection? There are people that just want to kill people, you don't have to have a special title to be sought out for assassination. Random murders occur every single day.

An assassination is not the same as a random murder.
I didn't intend to use them as though they are the same. Look at the context they were used in. Did I specifically identify an "assassination" as being something that one is "sought out for", and then follow that up with "random murders" after the previous sentence was complete? Thought so.
People die every single day against their own will. The end result is the same. Because someone doesn't agree with an elected politicians viewpoints does not make their death any less random or more important than that of the people who elected them. The guy who walks into an Arab convenience store and shoots the clerk because he doesn't like Muslims doesn't make that any less of a random killing than someone shooting a politician for a divide in beliefs.

Take it for what it is. Given a choice, most of the LGBT community will choose the liberal party(whoever that may be) because the conservatives of American politics have allied themselves with religious anti progressives whose mission is to make sure that non Christians, non whites, non males, non heterosexuals don't get far in life.
