Hope you're ready.
The last time I checked Afghanistan's population was 9x's smaller than ours. You are talking two totally different things here.
No, I am not. Their population being 9x smaller than ours says a lot considering that that the population of documented American citizens is 100 times that of the sub-3 million law enforcement officials and military service members in this country. Don't forget that most of the military is nothing but paper pushers wearing a uniform. You can't use demographic statistics and then downplay the overwhelming disadvantage the military would be in due to being severely outnumbered against a population that is armed to the fucking teeth. Not to mention the amount of military defectors. There are more people that are prior military than there are current military. See how that works in my favor?
I was commenting on someone who said that taking people's guns would lead to an outright Civil War, or something to that affect. Did you read the post that I quoted? Do you have any idea how many American lives were loss in the Civil War? We hardly lose men, and woman in battle anymore.
You took what he said out of context and are trying to create an argument as usual. He meant civil war in the context that the pro-gun population would be against the military, pitting American citizens versus American citizens. You're referring to THE Civil War, not A Civil War.
But we aren't exactly losing in Afghanistan.
With that said. Yes, I do feel that if there were an all out Civil War as suggested by someone else we would lose fighting against our Government.
All out war? Sure. That's why I put that there. You're naive though if you think that the military would not oppress itself with rules on top of rules like they did in Afghanistan with the night raids and searching of women. It would never happen. You honestly think that the military would fly drones over suburban areas on its own shores and launch rockets randomly without discretion like a scene out of Independence Day? I don't exactly revel in how awesome our government is, but even I know that that would never happen.
Do I think that there will ever be another Civil War? Certainly not. That's crazy talk. People for the most part have no guts, and would easily submit, and do whatever necessary to stay alive.
This includes people with arms.
We would never stand a chance against a military, and that is why we have one.
I think you confuse the state of modern day warfare. The military doesn't fight populations. We fight other militaries or terrorist organizations.
Thus, I come to the conclusion that we will never win a Civil War vs the United States Military. This isn't the 19th century folks. Our military has .50 caliber ammo that destroys tanks. What's that going to do to your house?
Cheap weapons are easy to make. It's amazing that you think so highly of a military with superior weaponry whose bases and consulates get overrun on foreign soil to some guys armed with AK47's.
