Can a 5'9" wrestler make it?

Simple. Can a wrestler that is 5'9" make it without having to be a gymnast in the ring? How big do you think one would have to weigh before they are of respectable size when 5'9"? Would hate to be a glorified jobber like jamie noble was. Should one even try breaking in to the business?

EDIT: Bad of me to mention jamie noble due to limited wwe viewings of him, i am the same size as him right now which is why i used the example but it was wrong of me

Daniel Bryan is 5'9", but he's also one of the best wrestlers in the world. Your size will be a disadvantage for you, so you're going to have to be good at nearly everything else in order to overcome it.

i was hoping that i could just get large enough in every other way besides height that it doesn't matter as i already enjoy weight training and know a great deal about it

Do you think that developing an acrobatic move set is necessary for the height?

You don't have to be acrobatic or a high flyer, but I would say that you need to be a great worker.

Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, Angle are all around that height

I am 176 cm which is about 5'9"

Look at Austin Aries' physique. He is about 5'8 or 9 and well built for his height. I'd say you would ideally want at least that. Would want to be talented in the ring and on the stick to shine.

Re: Can a 5'9" wrestler make it?

I think perhaps if you want to be a wrestler at your size one of the main things you could do is appreciate the wrestler of your size who have made it so people of your size can, especially somebody like Jamie Noble (who I would suggest you broaden horizons and seek non-WWE work, ROH & WCW especially,) We all know that the business is about respect, being disrespectful like that in real life would have you thrown out no matter who you were if you were only learning.

Guys your size can and have made it, plenty of them. You need to put in work as much as the next guy, it's not so much land of the 6"5" minimum guys anymore, so you're lucky it's 2012 and not 1982. A few wrestlers increase their heights by using lifts in their boots.

In the Indies, yeah, Good luck getting into the WWE unless you are hyped up as one of the best in the business and have a lot of connections.

Wanted:

A tall well built woman with good
reputation, who can cook frogs
legs, who appreciates a good fuc-
schia garden, classical music and tal-
king without getting too serious.
But please read only lines 1, 3 and 5.
