Any cool Teachers?

Not really talking about teachers you've grown to have a personal relationship with, I'm talking about teachers where it was basically cool to be in their class, they either made it mad easy to pass their class or let you talk to your friends in class, let you slack off and shit. Science teacher plays Bill Nye the science guy on Fridays or something, you know. Any cool teacher stories? Had a few teachers that probably wouldn't care if you smoked pot in their classroom.

Back in my heyday there was this stupid fad (prank) of taking someones bookbag when they weren't looking and take everthing out and turn it inside out, and put everything back in, and zipping it up. People would often "get got" on this while doing work in class and not looking or keeping eye on their backpack.

One time one of my friends "reversed" the teachers personal backpack, which at the time was alost identacle to mine. He (the teacher) looked at me with an evil grin, (cuz I was one of the troublemakers in class) thinking that my friend was "reversing" my bag, and thus feeling satisfaction that I was getting pranked on. Well I lifted my bag from the side of my desk like I was getting something out of it and he then realized it was HIS bag, chased the student around the room, and in turn, "dumped" (which in turn became the new fad) everything in my homeboys backpack on the floor. Which was a mess because he had a lot of shit. Class laughed. Teacher was a pretty cool dude.

Also, just about every year in high school I had a teacher that was pregnant. One year it was two. And for some reason I had the same ass substitute teacher every year that came and replaced them. Dude was like Mr. Feeney, always kept coming back. It was straight though because he was pretty cool and didn't care if you slacked off or talked to friends or nothing.

Had a Radio class where all you had was one project a month, for example make a 30 second commerical on something. Since there was limited equipment, everybody in the class would take turns and in general it would only take 2-3 days to complete the project. Meaning you can just sit around and chill for the 27 other days of the month. Also helped that the teacher was cool as fuck, didn't really give a fuck what you did. His damn motto was, "lifes sucks, and then you die". How awesome is that?

Equally, you can share your stories of un-cool teachers or douchebag teachers, willing to hear interesting stories.

Re: Any cool Teachers?

Had a teacher everyone calls "Coach Cole" since he is an assistant coach on the varsity football team, and his class was pure greatness. It was freshman year, and he taught Geography so there were some frosh like me and some sophomores, juniors, and a few seniors I believe. He goofed around with us, basically let us whisper during tests and shit, and just chill the fuck out. We would sit in his class for a half an hour and just talk amongst ourselves, he'd pass out a study guide which we could talk during and basically get answers, we'd take an hour doing that, leaving a half hour for us to review it with him and possibly take a quiz on it which was like 10 questions.

We also did powerpoint presentations ever Friday, and one time my friend left to use the restroom and I fucked with our groups project, changing words and punctuation and shit. He came back and tried to fix it all but missed several things. The title to one of our slides was "RIHVARS AND LAKS", another being called "AMINALS AND PLNATS" and my friend read everything like it was spelled, which had us lol'ing the whole block.

I have him again this year for some history class, it's gonna be fucking great.

Generally then reoccuring teachers tend to be cooler. Best part is you know exactly what to expect going into his class again this year, instead of some new teacher that could be a prick.

I heard he's gotten more strict, doubtful. He had an student teacher take over his class who was a complete bitch I heard. We had one for our class when I was there but he was a beast and all we did was argue about College Football. Great times. Me and Coach Cole also have a love for hockey, basically the only two in the school so we always talk about it. I'll never forget the day we were learning about Canada and took a test on it, and one of the bonus questions was "Name a NHL hockey team in Canada." and nobody knew so they all immediately asked me, I told them some and everyone got their tests back and I laughed hard for some reason that everyone put "Toronto Maple Leaves" instead of "Leafs", nobody understood why I thought it was funny. Pretty great honestly.

Re: Any cool Teachers?

I'm just going to tell you folks about some cool teachers I knew.

.When I was 8 I used to go to this club filled with Indians where they'd teach all sorts of things,I went for art.I had this 20 something year old Indian guy as my teacher,I haven't met him in ages but from what I remember the guy was extremely nice and he's the reason why I'm pretty good at drawing anything including actual people. We'd sometimes do this thing were I'd ask him to draw something for me and he'd do it,I told him to draw a picture of Palestinian rebels winning a battle against some Israeli soldiers. The guy chuckled and just did it,I then asked him does he hate Israelis? He said he doesn't hate anybody but dislikes the actions Israel's actions,I then asked him what religion was he a part of asking first "Muslim?" He went "Nah" and I asked again "Christian?" He said no then I finally asked him what religion was he a part of and he finally told me he had no religion and that he simply believed in god but didn't believe in any religion.I remember that mind blowing me as a kid considering I used to be very religious back in the day,He was the first deist "non believer" I've ever met in my life and thats pretty big for me considering I used to live in a largely muslim country.Anyway I remember this teacher being very kind and extremely nice,He'd joke around with me all the time and I remember good things from him.Shame I haven't seen him in ages.

.This guy called Mr Sherif,Was some Pakistani Maths teacher but he actually was a good teacher and actually taught. He's the reason why I didn't fail much of maths exams considering I'm rubbish at maths. The cooler thing about the guy is that he used to travel the world using only a bike in his holidays and he'd have pictures of him in places like China,India,Parts of America,France,Turkey and allot of countries. The man wasn't even old fashioned or anything,He'd joke around and would talk about EVERYTHING when we finished work from dating to fucking masturbating and we'd all get good laughs from him.The guy was fit as hell too,Not to mention his wife was extremely nice too "and hot lol".

.Another maths American teacher who was only my form teacher but I still hung around him allot considering I was in his form class,Anyway this guy was chill as fucking hell and would NEVER get pissed he'd always find a way to deal with stupid students without showing any signs of being annoyed. His name was David,People around me thought he was Jewish because of his name. One day me and him were alone in his class joking around and I suddenly asked him "Are you Jewish Sir?" he laughed and went "No" I then asked him of what faith is he a part of and he calmly answered "I'm a Buddhist",I asked him was he raised one and he told me he used to be a Catholic.I'd then stupidly tell him I thought Buddhism was cool in which he'd instantly go "You're not a muslim are you" and I replied "Nah".He's the only teacher in my school who I told I was an atheist,He didn't tell anybody though "or atleast I don't think so".Anyway the guy was chill,He even had his own meditation club and he too was fit but kinda old.

.I used to have a 20 something year old Canadian Biology teacher "The nicest guy I know other than my father",He'd teach biology without making it boring and would actually get students to give a shit especially me.He'd joke around most of the time and too was fit,My friends and I would go on camping trips with him out in the desert and it would be real fun. This teacher could speak like,4 languages since he taught in allot of countires including Japan and that itself was something I loved.I'd sometimes go to him and ask him to give me a small Japanese lesson and he'd always give me one,Believe it or not I know some of my Japanese because of him and not because of watching anime.

I knew plenty of teachers who would let me pass tests easy and wouldn't give me much homework and would let students slide with shit and all,But I don't consider them "cool" because teachers like those are the ones that make me go home and actually study more on my own when other teachers who do actually work allot in class have me learning everything in class and for me to just sit back and do nothing at home.

Re: Any cool Teachers?

I had a history teacher like that (in 10th and 11th grade) and he didn't give a shit about anything, he'd let us talk during the lesson and what not. A year later (when I was graduating) he hanged himself. I guess he had depression or some shit and that's why he didn't give a crap about lessons. He was a nice person, had two kids (who were also graduating just like me). It was pretty sad.

I am so glad I didn't have any "cool" teachers going by this definition and the utmost respect was given to those who decided to do the right thing and learn. This, in turn, made it easy to pass for all except those who thought it was cool to be there and talk to their friends in the middle of a lecture.

I had a teacher who would have a tv at the back of the classroom so that he could watch March Madness while teaching and the rest of the class couldn't

Re: Any cool Teachers?

My 10th grade chemistry teacher was really cool.
He would tell the funniest stories. Nobody dared misbehave in his class. he would insult anyone who did so good, the kid would be embarrassed for weeks. Also started a few nick names as well.
He would have the best stories. He would, when we would have little course to cover, would tell stories about him, where he came from, what other teachers were really like. Also told us how to make alcoholic beverages practically.
