Fiscal cliff : what's your opinion, are you afraid ?
I am not American, but I think that this lovely image can sum up the situation in Washington D.C

I can easily expect food prices in USA to begin going up at double-digit rates for the foreseeable future (inflation). Worse the bill erases various parts of Obamacare ... and gives many tax cuts for "useful companies". |

1.) I love how no politician has volunteered to reduce their income. If anything, a salary cut should be mandatory for all of the scumbag Congressmen and women.
2.) Partisanship once again rules supreme. The fact that these so-called leaders blatantly refuse to put aside their agendas for the betterment of this country just proves one thing: we've become subservient to the massive government, instead of the other way around. Not every aspect of your agenda will come to fruition, as Obama has said time and time again. Why people can't seem to grasp this concept is beyond me. In the end, the American populace pays the price. What a bunch of incompetent babies we have elected. fpalm |

John Boehner Told Harry Reid 'Go F--- Yourself' Outside the Oval Office

Seriously the crisis is just delayed for two months :( - childish confrontations - no real spending plan - no real cuts in military or administration - no change for Congressmen salaries - welcome back contributions to Social Security - smaller paychecks - the rich will pay for the debt, but they will pay you less - one-size-fits-all solution (pay California) - no cuts for two months and later ? - no reforms and changes - let's borrow money to lessen the pain - ... |
Re: Fiscal cliff : what's your opinion, are you afraid ?
Nothing will happen with Obama in office. He's not willing to cut spending. There's no way around balancing the budget without reforming or cutting Social Security or Medicare. Why they extended unemployment benefits for another year is beyond me. Most states already provide unemployment to its citizens for a 12 month period. The Federal Government decided it was dire to ensure 12 months of unemployment benefits on top of the 8-12 from most states during the recession. Makes sense, but we're recovering now and the GDP had a 3.1% growth rate in Q3. There's absolutely no feasible reason to allow people to take advantage of the system and not look for jobs up to 24 months.
But at least the payroll tax cut disintegrated. It's not much, but people need to be contributing more to Social Security if this system is going to be sustainable. It's a start, though it's safe to say that nobody is encouraged by the current state of Congress. |

Cut spending across the board by 100%
Reduce all tax rates to 0% Make all the politicians and hired thugs go get real jobs |

It's all a "show". The wealthiest 1/10th of 1% run the nation, and as long as they're happy those Democrats, and Republicans are happy, and have jobs to which people vote them to.

Its a mess Demo and Rep can't get along what so ever. Both of the parties should stop protecting there sides and think about the future. The best thing to do is cut spending (especially in the Department of Defense) and raise taxes in a moderate level. Obama seems he won't cut nothing yet wants to higher the taxes and spend left and right. If there were some cuts and tax increases than we can start rebuilding the mess we have.
