We deserve to be fucked, maybe then we can all take a reality check and stop wanting the government to be ran like a broke ho with a credit card at a Nieman Marcus.

I'm 16 so I don't really care now, but I have a feeling I'll definitely care later on.

The Federal Government decided it was dire to ensure 12 months of unemployment benefits on top of the 8-12 from most states during the recession. Makes sense, but we're recovering now and the GDP had a 3.1% growth rate in Q3. There's absolutely no feasible reason to allow people to take advantage of the system and not look for jobs up to 24 months.
I agree, but I also find unemployment way too easy. My brother has been on it twice in his lifetime, never showed any motivation to get off. I'm glad someone mentioned we're recovering; lots of people don't know this or are ignoring it.

In a transition into civilian life (from my former military life) class, I was told by the US military that after you get out of the military you should collect on unemployment. We were almost encouraged to collect it as soon as we were out. This wasn't just for people getting forced out of service either; this was about a year ago, though.

The problem is democracy, it will never work in a long run on such a large scale, and we've been fooling ourselves for years.

The problem is the left want money they don't have to support benefits and the right want to cut spending and lower taxes they can't afford to and both sides are deadlocked as even they average person will see them as a traitor for crossing their established lines

Not to mention the poor, middle class, and rich all blame the other two for their finical problems. The poor feel they are being held down by the other two, the middle class feel that the rich get all the breaks and the poor just get a free ride, and the rich feel that the other two are getting far more benefits than they are and are constantly asking for more.

All groups want the other two to pay for their ride but the poor don't have anything, the middle class is too broad and the rich have the power to and will leave if they feel they are being mistreated (and I can't blame them)

and so they all fall into their gated communities, fearing that the other two are barbarians at the gate trying to destroy their society and scream how they are right and if everyone was as smart and moral as they were than they would think the same way. They yell and scream that they are living in the most unstable, most pivotal, the most important time period in history, which it was since the 90s, which it was since the 80s, which it was since the 70s, which it was since the 60s, which it was since 50s etc. as humans have done since the start of time and they will till the end yet life carries on as normal.

TLDR no.

The only way REAL change (Not Obama' 2008 campaign slogan) will ever take place in the United States is if we hit total economic collapse. It would be at that moment that people would realize that the system and the people we currently have in power aren't working. Sadly, people don't realize this right now because they still have all of their "stuff." They still have their football games on their HD televisions. They still have their fancy dinners with their friends and/or family. They still have their nice car and nice house. As long as people have all of this "stuff", they won't ever truly care about what the government, they THEY elected in the first place, is doing to them and how both parties are driving this country into oblivion.

In a total economic collapse, they won't all of this stuff and it would be at that point they might just wake up and realize what's going on. It's at that point that any change might happen and even then, it might not be change for the better.

Of course I am worried. Our country is run by morons on both sides that would rather play party loyalty than do their fucking job and get this shit taken care. This shit which is their fault by the way.
