Re: Next Step Up for TVs: 'Ultra HD'

I'm not really sure how different the picture would even look on most TVs. I'm all for making technology better but I don't know if these new TVs are really going to be worth the extra cost.

Didn't read the article but is it the same as Quad HD? I remember reading about that a few years ago. Honestly though, how much cleaner can we get than HD? Shit, is more clear than real life! lol.

lol exactly. TV is HD enough. It's getting to the point where any closeups are getting scary(in a bad way) to watch cause of how detailed you can see. Which really sucks when watching something like a sports game cause for some reason, the camermen always love doing audience shots for like 10 seconds on the same person, with real closeup shots.

How about getting rid of the multitude of problems that plague LCD and plasma TVs now.

Then again OLED is supposed to be the solution.

Re: Next Step Up for TVs: 'Ultra HD'

Here's a fucking tip to everybody: Stick with the t.v that you've got because after a while any standard of picture starts to look mediocre. Save your fucking money and stop getting mugged off by these companies. I bet they have the technology to produce something that's four or five 'generations' ahead of the latest standard, they're just pacing themselves to milk you of your money.

Having said that, those top line hd tellys are rather nice.

Re: Next Step Up for TVs: 'Ultra HD'

We aren't going to see the 4k technology anytime soon yet we are barely transcending from 720p to 1080p. We don't even have the broadcasters yet its just not going to happen anytime soon. Also this will sky rocket T.V. prices. I don't really see the point of 4k, 1080p looks very nice already how much better can 4k do (unless for big T.Vs 80 inchs etc) the ones that should move to 4k are movie theaters there quality sucks lol.

Re: Next Step Up for TVs: 'Ultra HD'

I honestly can't imagine how the average or even rich person would benefit from this, aside from e-peen measurement.

It would be sweet for commercial or industrial use, but really, it's not like watching football on a regular TV sucks or anything.

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.
