Is the UFO conspiracy theory...a conspiracy theory in itself?
Now I'm sure that most people on here have heard of Roswell,Kecksburg and the Shag Harbour incidents, but what if all of the alleged "Sightings" were just cover stories in order to hide top secret black ops aircraft? They say that the Kecksburg UFO was very similar in shape to that of the alleged top secret German UFO "Die Glocke" or "The Bell" which was one of Germany's Wunderwaffe,or Wonder Weapons. Maybe at the end of the war and especially during Operation Paperclip, the Military gathered up all of the Scientists and designs of these craft and as a cover for this they could say that these were not man made air,or spacecraft, but came from an "Alien Civilization" from outside of this World.
If this is all the case then whoever made up this conspiracy theory did an amazing job at fooling everyone.
It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.

It's what I've always thought.
What better way to hide what goes on in secret bases in terms of military testing and technological innovations, than to plant the seeds in people's minds that there are alien bodies there.
It's quite possible for nearly 50 years people have been barking up the wrong tree about Area 51 and have ignored what might be right in front of them.

As they say "The best place to hide something,is to hide it in plain sight."

It's quite a well known 'theory', theories are fickle things though, anyone can take any conspiracy theory and believe what parts they want, not necessarily all of it, so you get 'general' theories, but really, many people are probably believing that 'general' conspiracy differently than the next theorist.
For this one though, it's pretty well known that whole 'conspiracy conspiracy' conspiracy, and as I say, it's never-ending, anyone can make a conspiracy theory, but the overall 'general' theories are more well known.

if aliens were able to travel the speed of light and actually build these UFOs that manage to come to planet earth, then on in the hell would we be able to ever capture them. and if we did ever capture one of them, why the fuck wouldn't they just wipe our race out seeing as they would obviously have the technology to do so.

It is interesting to note though that reports of Aliens and "Unidentified Flying Objects" did not start coming out until the late 1940's during the start of the Cold War when the USA and Uncle Joe were experimenting and testing with new aircraft's like Jets and looking into propulsion systems for spacecraft. It is well documented that when the U-2 Spyplane,SR-71 Blackbird,F-117 Nighthawk and the B-2 Stealth Bombers were mistaken for being UFOs when people first saw them outside of Area 51 and other test sites.
And reports of UFOs that move silently and make little noise can be attributed to the rumored "Stealth Blimp".
Also cases involving the "Men in Black" link them to a Secret Squirrel Unit of the Air Force Special Activities Center.
Re: Is the UFO conspiracy theory...a conspiracy theory in itself?
I guess thats possible but only in some cases I think not every one. I mean afterall one of the most recognized stories of UFO abduction still has no explanations as to how the woman knew a star constellation before NASA did. It took them something like 20 years to find what she found. I guess its possible but there are UFO sightings in every continent to the point where it can't just be a USA government thing. Besides, there have been military pilots that have gone on record saying they chased after UFO's that weren't military , no markings etc nothing
Also, UFO's have been recorded for hundreds of years even Christopher Columbus apparently wrote in a journal and there have been presidents to believe in UFO's and aliens
