Shit like this is so fascinating. Although black holes are even more mind blowing to me.

Thanos laughs at black holes too. Also black holes aren't as scary as people assume they are. Ok they are fucking terrifying, but it takes them millions of years to finish off one galaxy. They aren't the biggest threat to the universe.

Re: I feel small.
I truly believe that until you can accept how small and insignificant you are in the scheme of the universe, you can't really appreciate the scale of existence as we know it. When it comes down to it, any human being who is "self aware" knows that most likely in 100 years they won't be remembered, thats just the way it is. You have to find meaning and happiness in the things you do day to day otherwise there really isn't any point to being alive.

Re: I feel small.
Amazing.
Funny thing is I was checking out your top albums of 2011 list and "Steep Hills of Vicodin Tears" - A Winged Victory For The Sullen was playing on Youtube while I was reading the OP. Talk about a 'moment', felt like I was a kid back at the planetarium again.

I used to think like this when I was younger, I used to look at the sky and think about everything out there and just feel small. As an adult now with so much on my mind I don't think I've looked up at the sky the same way that I used to.

British astronomer and broadcaster Sir Patrick Moore has died, aged 89, his friends and colleagues have said.
He "passed away peacefully at 12:25 BST this afternoon" at his home in Selsey, West Sussex, they said in a statement.
Sir Patrick presented the BBC programme The Sky At Night for over 50 years, making him the longest-running host of the same television show ever.
He wrote dozens of books on astronomy and his research was used by the US and the Russians in their space programmes.

Wow. Talk about eerie.
I now dedicate this thread to Sir Patrick Moore.
