Olive Garden's food is alright, but the atmosphere is what fucking kills me. People sitting in t-shirts, cargo shorts, and sandals with a baseball cap at a sit down restaurant just doesn't do it for me. I feel like doing this:
every single fucking time I (attempt) to eat there.
Fuck that. I will eat in a cheap restaurant, if it's home made food or some kind of ethnic cuisine or if we know the people who run it or if they have a peculiar local specialty - as any foodie will tell you, the price on the menu and the quality of the cooking don't always run hand in hand.
Cracker Barrel is my favorite chain restaurant. It's the closest thing you can get to a home cooked meal when eating out. If I'm on a long drive, I'm going to locate a Cracker Barrel on my GPS at least once. I rarely visit chain restaurants and opt for smaller mom and pop or privately owned ethnic restaurants where you can get better food for a better price.
