Fire fighter. I have his old helmet it's damaged on top where a bit of roof fell on him.

He sold vacuum cleaners and other interesting items across the land.

He also served in WWII. Saw no combat, but yeah.

Died a few years before I was born.

Sold insurance. He was also in the Air Force and helped do something with the Sputnik or whatever.

one grandfather lived in Croatia and he was a flourist believe it or not. The one who lived in the US (obviously an immigrant) worked his way up in the restaurant business, starting off as a dish washer then becoming a waiter

Both served in the military, one of which was actually a pretty high ranked member if I recall (don't know shit about positions, etc.), one was a car salesman and the other was a shoemaker when he was young and eventually a banker, did very well for himself.

Grandpa on Dad's side was a Marine during WWII. Was a Lieutenant of an amphibian squad on Iwo Jima. After that he became a high school teacher.

Grandpa on Mom's side was a Marine during the Korean War. After that he moved home, bought up 40 acres of land and started a farm. On top of a fully functioning farm he drove 3 hours to and from work to Chicago to work at the Ford plant there.

My grandfather on my dad's side fought in WW2 and was sent to Europe. He was one of the soldiers that liberated either Auschwitz or Dachau. Subsequently, he suffered with emotional problems throughout his life. When he came back to the states, he worked in the supply shop of a steel mill. This was sad because he was apparently a brilliant man who squandered his potential.

My grandfather on my mom's side was born in Poland and was originally a cobbler. He was forced to defect from Poland to Germany where he served in the army. He ended up in the U.S. and became a tool and dye maker. He suffered an injury on the job and was forced into early retirement. He has had it hard in his life, but he always persevered. Now he spends his days playing bingo, spending money, and doing other badass things that he enjoys.

Mother's father was in the military. Grandfather on my father's side was a college principal. Both of 'em died before I was born.

one of them sold pants at the market in france, and the other had his own textile store for awhile, then worked for some shipping company. the one selling pants made a lot more money.
