Daredevil Sets Sight on a 22-Mile Fall

Felix Baumgartner, a professional daredevil, plans to step off a balloon-borne capsule 22 miles above Earth on Tuesday and plummet for five and a half minutes until opening his parachute a mile above the New Mexico desert. If all goes as planned, he will do a series of barrel rolls in the near-vacuum of the stratosphere and then plunge headfirst at more than 700 miles per hour, becoming the first sky diver to break the sound barrier. |

Re: Daredevil Sets Sight on a 22-Mile Fall
I'd be scared if I was close to falling 22 metres.

Re: Daredevil Sets Sight on a 22-Mile Fall
That'd be an incredible thing to witness, honestly. He'll end up dying though. I don't think the human body is built to break the sound barrier without any sort of vehicle surrounding them... Best of luck to this guy regardless.

Lets be honest, the only potentially entertaining thing about this is if he hits the ground instead.

Fucking sweet. This sounds like it will end badly.

He's gonna die.
Will be amazing if he does it though. |
Calling it now, his suit violently rips open and he begins to break apart like a shuttle burning up on reentry
