BARCELONA, Spain — The Spanish police said Thursday that they had arrested a man suspected of planning a bomb attack on a university campus, inspired by a 1999 mass killing at an American high school.
The man, a 21-year-old Spaniard who studied electronics, was arrested Wednesday in Palma, Majorca, the capital of the Balearic Islands, as he was taking delivery of bomb-making materials at his home, the police said. They said they found about 310 pounds of the materials, including ammonium nitrate.
