Nice try bro but I hardly ever eat fast food or drink soda. In fact I think the people in charge of those companies are evil because they know what they put out is bad for you but they don't give a shit. Same goes for tobacco companies. Still, it's your right to do what you want with your life, that's why it's called a free country.

Uh, yeah again, you missed the point. This is a small, pointless thing but when we allow these things, they will slowly build.
Look at TSA. it is against the constitution to do "warrantless SEARCHES and seizures" under the 4th amendment. But hey, Americans think it is for their "safety" and as long as we allow it, it will expand to ball parks, malls, trains. All for our 'protection' right?
Oh, not that you ask but I don't even drink soda or eat kfc. So stfu when you judge strangers.

Sets a good precedent but come on, this is more than a little short sighted.

Re: NYC passes ban on supersized sugary drinks
Not surprised Americans are whinging about this. Its a health and safety issue as your fat little hands are getting fatter and fatter and soon won't be able to hold onto the massive sodas thus spilling them on the floor and thats how you get ants. Is that what you want America? Ants?
In all seriousness, i'm fairly amused at people being outraged at people trying to combat obesity. Thats the hilarious thing.

You make it sound as if these searches are entirely unwarranted/senseless, just like this size ban.

Re: NYC passes ban on supersized sugary drinks
People think that a limit on the size of your soda is a move against freedom.
Pathetic.

Re: NYC passes ban on supersized sugary drinks
its just the government wanting to control more of peoples lives.. This was a law passed soley by Dems and yet half the people on this forum claim they are the party of freedom

I agree with you . The obesity epidemic in this country is a serious issue that everyone is afraid to address. However this bill is silly and it really doesn't address the problem not to mention diet soda which is excluded from this bill is just as bad. If the govt declared a serious war on obesity and stopped giving subsidies to farms that produce all these unhealthy boxed foods and made physical fitness a priority in public schools that would be a better first step in the right direction.
