I find this suprising, because Obama had to follow Bush. He gets criticized for a lot of things Bush did not Obama.
Also the Senate is republican so everything Obama comes up with (health care plans) gets shot down, and then you complain that he did nothing for you the last 4 years. Isn't that a little bit hypocritical?

I am not a US citizen, I'm from Europe. But always have been interested in US elections, the dynamics I find them fascinating.
-Obama had a majority in congress for 2 years. 2 years and he still got nothing done, in fact the only budget he even tried to pass was shot down immidiattely.
-Obama has not even passed a budget yet, so in other words, he hasn't tried to do anything about our debt or spending. Now, he wants to gut the military while stealing nearly a trillion dollars in taxpayer money to pay for "Obamacare",
-Obama also gets credit for a lot of things Bush was doing well. Obama got the troops out of Iraq on the same exat timeline Bush said he would and he used the same exact plan to "save" the auto industry. So even though Obama hasn't even tried to right Bush's wrongs, those 2 things balance it out anyway.

Add in to this 6 trillion in debt, higher unemployment, 3x more Americans on food stamps, etc. and I think we have good reason to vote against Obama.

Re: Election Discussion Thread

a lot of people in this thread have no clue what they're talking about and probably should just stay home on voting day.

Punked Up lives in a fantasy world. Romney has had two horrible weeks since the DNC. dude is done unless they rig the election w/ voter ID laws.

Re: Election Discussion Thread

I'm starting to see that this thread is pointless. There are maybe three people in here that know what they're talking about.

No more insults though. At least argue without the insults, even if you don't know what you're talking about.

lulz, high five scrilla.

Re: Election Discussion Thread

An election thread right now is about as unpointless as it gets. Speaking as someone who was a political science major back in University its fun to debate and yes insults and name calling is a part of the whole political debating process just the same as it is in real elections.

Just because one party has fallen apart so badly in the last few weeks that it makes for amazing political comedy is no reason to just shrug off the election.

Lets please have actual relevant threads in here or the site gets embarrassing, as for no insults in a political thread...seriously do you follow politics???

Re: Election Discussion Thread

An election thread where no one knows what they're talking about is pointless. I'm not closing it at this point though. I'm probably not closing it at all.

As for insults, if this were a forum that allowed that, then yeah, fire away. It's not though.

Politics causes insults and heated debates if this isnt the section thats allowed in than a mod needs to move the thread there not close it. Its a simple task I assume.

I've definitely been known to fling the insult when someone sounds particularly unintelligible. I'll definitely cop to that but I can back up my statements with facts as well. f the only problem is the insults move the thread. Just a helpful solution. As I posted on another part of this forum I dont think any decent forum should ever be without a political thread.

One of the most interesting threads, maybe for its craziness, was that staunch republican mormon scary girl during the Hogan supports Repbulican party thread. That was a captivating trainwreck.

Re: Election Discussion Thread

presidential elections tend to bring out the uninformed b/c they feel obligated. i personally have no interest in ad hominem arguments. there's no point in debates between hardcore partisans anyway. nobody is changing their mind.
