As a "Pro-Lifer", I must say that it is hypocritical for some "Pro-Lifers" to be anti-abortion, yet pro-death penalty and pro-war. With that said, the taking away of a life that hasn't even truly begun yet just based on the fact it might have a shitty life or the mother doesn't want to raise it is something I really can't condone.
Only way I'd condone abortion is if the mother's life would be endangered by giving birth to the child.
I completely respect that viewpoint. The way you put it, it makes perfect sense.
I, on the other hand, am pro-choice, anti-death penalty, and anti-war.
Me and my girlfriend are currently expecting a son in June. At first, she contemplated getting an abortion. Thankfully, I was able to talk her out of it. I wanted us to have the baby. No, we aren't married, no, it isn't the right time, but I still believe that this son was our blessing from God.
I personally am against abortion, but I don't believe I have the right to tell you or anyone else that you can't...as a Christian, I believe Jesus gives everyone free will. Yes, he makes it very clear that "thou shalt not kill", and he also makes the consequences clear, but at the end of the day, the choice is yours. If Jesus gives you the right to choose, what right do I have to deny you that right?
