Experienced a natural disaster?
Hurricanes? Tornados? Earthquakes? Volcano?
We don't really have earthquakes, volcanos, or hurricanes(normally) in Texas, and I've only seen a tornado once.
When I was in 5th grade, a really big tornado was near my school, and my classroom was in a portable that year. The school janitor literally kicked down our door screaming to warn us and bring us inside the main facility, efficiently scaring the living shit out of 99% of the kids. Everyone was hiding under tables and the walls were shaking like a train was passing through, little girls crying all around me, even one of the male teachers was crying and praying really loud under his desk. It was pretty intense. Our school didn't get hit tho and every one was fine. What made it kind of funny was that most of those kids that were crying were the same ones bragging about how hard they are during a storm and they never get scared of anything. I never actually saw the tornado tho.
When I was in San Francisco a few years ago there was an Earthquakes, proper one unlike the shitty little ones we get over here. Very very odd sensation to feel the concrete beneath you move and feel like jelly.
Been a couple tornado's around our area but they were nothing serious that caused any harm. There was a huge tornado a year before I was born though that caused alot of damage in the city.
I have only experienced 2 minor earthquakes in England but I remember the first one happened when i was sleeping and the books from shelves dropped onto the floor.
I live in Florida, so I've been through a few hurricanes. I've been lucky tho, all that's happened is losing power. It is brutal going without air conditioner for a few weeks. :/
About 3 years ago a mini hurricane went through my neighborhood. Trashed the shit out of my backyard and our street. Funny thing is, I slept through the entire thing. I woke up, looked outside and was like "....the fuck?". Still funny to me.
