What is your ideal environment to live in?

A big city? A village? A small town?

Somewhere tropical? Somewhere desert-like? Somewhere cold?

Near mountains? Near the ocean? Near a river?

You get the idea, essentially just the place you'd actually want to live in rather than what most of us have in the "we have no other choice but to live here" situation. You know, a place where you'd love to live with your partner, raise a family, or live the loner life if that's your cup of tea.

So what is your ideal environment to live in?

For me? I miss living next to the sea, Egypt might provide it's own pros but my heart will always belong to earth's seas/oceans. The first 17 years of my life were spent in Kuwait with my house literally just 5 minutes away from the Persian Gulf and I could see the sea from my room window, hell even just taking long walks alongside the sea was a romantic feeling.

I think all I'd care about, is living in a big city (since I'm a city boy) right next to the ocean/sea.

Ahhh, the worship of Poseidon never gets old. :trips5

I've lived in small cities in NJ, right across the Hudson River from NYC, my entire life, and I've enjoyed it for the most part; outside of them being somewhat densely populated, which kind of sucks. As each day passes I'm getting more and more ready to live in a boring suburb and have a big ass backyard and front yard. We're almost there and that's cool with me.

1. I want all four seasons. I want hot summers, cold winters, and a mild spring and fall.

2. I want cool people

3. Medium to large city, large enough to where there are stores open late, and there are entertainment venues.

4. A place where land is cheap enough to have distance between my neighbors.

5. Preferably somewhere within a day's drive of multiple large cities, and a beach.

Where I live now clicks all five, and I am happy here, in a medium size town just a half hour south of Nashville.

I was out running on the riverfront trail last night and an older lady, presumably a tourist from one of the nearby hotels, stopped me to ask what was on the other side of the river. I described the different towns and parks visible in either direction. She said, "This is such a beautiful place. You're a very lucky girl."

I live in a city of less than 200,000 people. We have all four seasons, the warmest beach water north of Virginia, are surrounded by wilderness and picturesque towns but have all the typical night and daytime life of a normal city, even hosting sporting events and large concerts. The cost of living is very low. Land is relatively cheap, most people own houses and middle class families can afford summer cottages or hunting camps. We're bilingual, diverse and have a vibrant arts culture. Our Syrian immigrants are metrosexual hairdressers and adorable young families, not wacky jihadists. We have two universities and a third just outside town.

You know, as much as it seems dull and forgettable to me, maybe I am a wee bit lucky to live where I do. I even have my nearby haunted fort. :)

Just somewhere quite cool, and in a fairly small and quiet town preferably, i like to keep things pretty chill.

I enjoy where i live now though, the city is big enough without being too crowded.
