Just recently a little girl was reportedly sent home with a note from her school for violating their dress code by carrying a Wonder Woman lunch box.
A user on reddit posted this picture of a little girl's lunchbox (above) along with the letter that was sent home explaining their reasoning.
The letter said:
"We noticed that Laura has a Wonder Woman lunchbox that features a super hero image. In keeping with the dress code of the school, we must ask she not bring this to school.
The dress code we have established requests that the children not bring violent images into the building in any fashion – on their clothing (including shoes and socks), backpacks and lunchboxes.
We have defined ‘violent characters' as those who solve problems using violence. Super heroes certainly fall into that category."

Seriously? fpalm

I hope she shows up with a Hit-Girl lunchbox.... show 'em a violent character
:hglol

Everything the government does is under the pretext of violence so I guess this is an anarchist school. How far we've come.
Indeed.

Fantasy violence depicted with all of the real-world importance of a child's reverie is to be blotted out. Yet were this girl given a lunchbox with Hillary Clinton's visage upon it I am sure the violence which she represents and advocates daily would be held up as a fine example, especially for girls.

Real-life Iraqis, Afghans, Syrians, Libyans and Americans among others have felt the authentic ruin of actual violence sponsored and backed by the likely next president of the United States.

It is hardly surprising that one harmless characterization of a character who is not directly an enforcer of the state is to be expelled and shunned from sight while the systemic violence of a corrupt and overweening regime which depends upon coercion and demagoguery is to be celebrated.

I would not mind one bit if someone were to push reset to the world, seriously this is getting ridiculous, Each day we hear a new and more stupid story than the other. Now kids can´t even pack their lunches in a Wonder Woman lunchbox what´s next? No Muppets backpacks because they are offensive to pigs and frogs or something? Sheesh...

One more argument in favor of home schooling.
This is beyond stupid.

A children's Wonder Woman lunchbox creates panic amongst a school's administration.
This is what 2015 PC pussified society has turned into.

These people really have nothing better to do with their lives.
Maybe they forget that their role was that of educators and not the morality police.

Today Wonder Woman.
Tomorrow Kirby.

There would be hell to pay if I wasn't allowed to bring a Pikachu related school item in school :MAD
There would be far fewer incidents of bitch slapping, if only we protected our impressionable youth from insidious images like this

couched in an innocuous, child friendly package and teaching our children that violence is the way. Shall we let this situation stand?

Stories like this make it harder for me to insist that people are being hysterical over the whole "political correctness gone mad" thing. I mean they mostly are because it's not like this is commonplace, we're just exposed to more stories than ever before, and it doesn't really have anything to do with political correctness but <sigh> yes sometimes I do underestimate the absurdity of it all.

This is what happens when you have rigid, inflexible rules without human judgement. "But we can't say yes to one thing and no to another! - yes you absolutely can! That's the point of having intelligent, discerning minds: we can see that not everything is equal/interchangeable and decide what's appropriate on a case by case basis.

Heh heh, case by case basis. I crack me up.

Hey HEY, you never heard of rock, paper, scissors? Paper smothers rock...to death. It's a pretty sick game when you think about it - it doesn't matter what kind of paper you are, you kill rocks and scissors kill you: that's just the food chain in this savage garden, my friend.

I call Poe's law on this story.

Is this lunch box even in circulation these days considering that DC has revamped what Wonder Woman looks like a great deal since then? No name of the school. No city. No state. Nothing. Seems legit.

That looks like a collector's item I would expect lying around in a bored Reddit user's house who could create the entire story on a lonely night. It's not like it hasn't happened before.

Sorry to burst your bubbles folks, but this is very likely completely fabricated.
Aw damnit I'm usually better with these things. Like I said, I'm normally skeptical of these crowd pleasing "Let's all pat ourselves on the back for not being as braindead as these guys" stories. You're probably right - a couple weeks ago someone posted the 'Child suspended for terroristic threats with 'The One Ring'' and I knew it was bullshit because it was originally floated around in 2001!

That "Super heroes certainly fall into that category" part sounded a little bit off to me, and not only because it should be "Superheroes" (the "certainly" part just doesn't sound formal).
