Traffic Enforcement Cameras (Long Island)
What can we do?!
On Long Island (Nassau County) they're putting up traffic enforcement cameras everywhere(red light, school speed zone, etc.). If you "don't follow the rules", these cameras take a picture of your car, then they mail you a ticket. And the tickets are 80 dollars. Who can afford that?
No one knows EXACTLY what the "rules" are". And who came up with these "rules" anyway? It's ridiculous. It's like a "police state".
They're hiding behind the disguise of making the roads "safer", but what they're really after is 80 dollar ticket after 80 dollar ticket. They're probably making a fortune.
But it just makes the roads more chaotic and unpredictable. In fact they will probably cause more accidents from people slamming on their breaks and panicking.
It really isn't right what they're doing on Long Island. But it's like there is nothing we can do about it.
