Oh yes, their lives are ~so hard~ while there are women having acid thrown in their faces for trying to go outside on their own.

Modern feminism is a fucking joke.

Just because someone has things worse than you doesn't mean you should settle for other people having it better than you.

I'm all for equality and equal rights and I can see why half of what they tweeted is an issue. I would not want to walk outside and have someone lurch and throw abuse at me for whatever I was wearing.

It is portrayed that way sometimes, but you can't allow someone to make those awkward and offensive advances and call it "flirting" it's insulting.

I think they should do a better job screening what they put on those sort of things, because for every genuine example of everyday sexism on those lists there is are poor examples that come off as nothing but petty whinge, and it dilutes the message and makes light of the situation. I think another issue comes from viewing too many things through the spectrum of sexism too. Sexism might play a part in things like sexual harassment or poor journalistic standards, but it's not necessarily the be all and end all of those things either. Sexual harassment can be tied to a lack of social skill rather than an innate sexism, and journalism that comes off as sexist is probably dictated by readerships trends, not because the editor is a sexist.
