Default Should I stop drinking?

I'm 26 male. 280lbs. Have ALWAYS been nothing more than a casual drinker. I enjoy it and like getting drunk with my friends on the weekend. I have for a while now noticed I feel like complete crap after drinking. I always have to take a heartburn pill when I drink and feel pretty crappy the next morning . This was not the case when I was younger. When I was 16-21 I could drink tons with no issue . This is very fustrating to me because

I'm not that old
I only drink casually (1 2 a week)
Most always only drink lighter beer(coors shock top)
I'm a big guy and get a good amount a physical activity

I have a hard time understanding why this is happening to me. I have no problem completely stop drinking if that means I'll be happier but I just feel terrible because I can't understand why I can't drink happily anymore. There are tons of people in much worse cases who can drink stupid tell they are 50 60 years old

Everybody's body is different. Not everyone will react the same way. There are people who get cancer from secondhand smoke. And there are some that smoke and live past 80 with no problems. Nothing you can really do about stuff like that.

It sounds to me like you may be getting acid reflux which could be getting aggravated by your drinking. If this is the case, if you don't slow down or stop for a while it will just get worse. You might want to get checked out by a doctor if you can, or maybe start taking something like Prilosec which worked for me in a similar situation a few years ago.

Stop drinking to see if it helps. If it doesn't, continue drinking again.

Thanks for the input and you are most def right. . It's just really hard and depressing. It sucks when everyone of my friends who are the same age talk about drinking like badasses still and I feel like a little b***** because I can't keep up anymore

Yes, you will probably look and feel better. Friend of mine was in absolutely great shape before he started drinking heavily. His arms are still nice but he has this ugly beer gut now. Generally slower, less put together. Just...nah.

It's practically poison actually. Get rid of it.

It seems to me like you give too much of a damn about how you look in front of your friends. Who gives a shit if they drink like 'badasses'? Drunk people are some of the most annoying fucking assholes on the planet, why would you want to be one of those people?

If your friends think you're a pussy, they're idiots. I don't drink, all my friends do, they sometimes joke about it, but, they are real friends who don't give a shit. They try to get me to drink and I refuse. It's all in good fun, but, regardless, who cares about image, your health is far more important.

I annually give up alcohol for Lent.

As a guy who enjoys one standard drink a day with dinner, you don't know how much better I feel after my yearly abstinence. I can literally feel my body detoxing, like it's purging itself of some nasty poison.

You don't have to give up the drink for good, but try and have stretches of time where you go off it for awhile. Your body will thank you for it.

You are completely right. And it's true alcohol is nothing but poison to the human body.
