Re: Does Love Conquer All?

Fear. Fear of the unknown has driven many human endeavors. Fear of death, also.

Fear might be the strongest human emotion. We feel it before anything else probably and it's the one emotion we never become conditioned to. I started working on that little "theory" after I read 1984. The guy talks about a human race that feels only fear and hate forever and ever. I just don't think that's possible. Fear is something we will always fight. We don't let it linger like love or bitterness or hate, we are always trying to cast if off the moment it seizes us.

No. You can't be in love with someone you don't lust after first. Unless we're talking about a family member.

IMO, I see it more common with less attractive guys dating more attractive females, than the other way around.

I wouldn't use the divorce rate as an example of love not being something that lasts, most of the couples who get married these days don't do it because they genuinely want to spend the rest of their lives together, they just do it because it's a thing that you're supposed to do. For what it's worth I think that if you're legit in love with somebody and they're in love with you, then you'll do whatever it takes to stay together as long as that's what you both want.
