Re: I was just threatened in public...
I've been in a similar situation. We were on our way back from a friend's 21st birthday party, and we were heading over to his flat for a few more drinks before going out on the town. My friend lives next to a Casino and as we were pulling up, some guy at the Casino ran over to the car and said ''Which one of you want to fight me?'' Obviously we were confused and drove off and parked up to go into my friends flat. There were 5 of us, 4 guys and 1 girl, and then as we're making our way over to the entrance this guy comes running over with about 3 other friends, continuously asking who wants a fight with him and instantly, and typically punched the smallest and youngest looking of my group.
The girl we were with tried to diffuse the situation but these guys were intent on picking a fight with us for no apparent reason. Eventually, the guy that started the whole thing decided he wanted to pick a fight with me instructed his friends to all go for me at the same time. At this point one of my friends completely lost it and went for the tosser and it pretty much turned into a brawl with everyone fighting. After a while of fighting the guy who started this entire thing, ended up getting knocked out, his jaw broken and put into hospital for two weeks by the smallest guy there who was the guy he hit first for no reason. His friends soon enough ran off.
Moral of the story - Bullies get what's coming to them. They picked a fight for no reason at all, probably thinking we would just back off, making them look big and so they would feel better about themselves. Obviously the guy ended up in hospital but had he not been so intent on starting a fight with us for no reason, then he wouldn't have been there.
Another story, my sister's fiancé got jumped by a group of men as he was walking back from town the other night. His two front teeth had been knocked out and his entire lip and cheek are all cut up, luckily as he was hit to the floor, he managed to get up and run away before anything overly serious was done to him.
There are some seriously nasty people out there. I'll never understand why people are like it.
